Parkway Grill

"Parkway Grill may be known to have ushered in the open kitchen and exposed brick phenomenon back in the 1980s; and while many of the servers have been here for decades as well, this Pasadena favorite never shows her age. In fact, it's always bustling with a convivial scene inside, but everyone stops in their tracks and heads swivel when that platter of whole fried ginger catfish makes its way through the dining room. This aromatic behemoth is definitely a trophy, but with its deliciously deep-fried crust and addictive yuzu-ponzu dipping sauce, it's by all means a golden one.Regulars know to save room at the end for the crème brûlée Napoleon. This dessert may look a touch throwback but lingers on your taste buds for weeks to come." - Michelin Inspector

Our second time having dinner here! Definitely a special place to bring your loved ones and enjoy a meal together. Service is impeccable and they make you feel welcomed. Our waiter and his team were attentive, courteous and genuinely hospitable. The staff, the food and the elegant atmosphere all made for another memorable experience for us!

My recent visit to The Parkway Grill in Pasadena was truly exceptional! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the elegant atmosphere and sophisticated décor. The dim lighting, crisp linens, and refined ambiance set the tone for a special evening. But what truly stole the show was the incredible cuisine. We indulged in the succulent lobster, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The portion was generous, and the presentation was stunning. And don't even get me started on the desserts! The decadent chocolate cake was rich, velvety, and utterly divine. Each bite was a masterclass in texture and flavor. Throughout our meal, the service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our server expertly guided us through the menu, offering spot-on recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were always full. Overall, I highly recommend The Parkway Grill to anyone seeking a refined and indulgent dining experience. With its exceptional cuisine, elegant atmosphere, and top-notch service, this restaurant is sure to impress even the most discerning palates.

Google
Fantastic on all metrics. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious, and the interior design and ambiance is next level. Perfect for date night or any special occasion. The staff are great and super friendly. I wanted to step out during dinner to watch the Falcon 9 from Vandenberg, and they were very accommodating. Parking lot is valet only. Overall highly recommended!

Google
Absolutely delicious food with 16 of us in a side room. Sadly and this was the only bad thing, there were 16 of us, and two other groups, four and 8, so loud when alcohol is involved. Ok, so now the service, AMAZING waiter, staff. Food danged good. The beet salad, refreshing, and the Tiger shrimp, amazing, although my scallops were a bit dry, perhaps frozen before? The branzino, $56, boneless, poached, and delicious. Old fashioned was good. My Hubby's martinis perfect with earrings. His rum cake, not rum cake, and a little dry. My desert, the lava cake, was dry in the center, however when I told the waiter, the kitchen sent a brand new one with the proper lava! Delicious. Overall a good dining experience. $360 for two of us maybe not, but good enough.

Google
I was there last Friday night and it was superb. Our waiter was amazing and the food was perfection. Everything about this place is first class. Prepare to throw some dough 💵around, but it’s worth it. Staff is all too notch and the food preparation and presentation is killer. Must have some top level management to make it all seamless and delicious and easy. Don’t miss this place.

Google
Service is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is also lovely. It’s clear why this restaurant is a popular choice for celebrating special occasions. The food, however, lacks a little bit of the wow factor you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Still a great meal, though.

Google
We've been married one year longer than Parkway Grill has been around. Through the years, they've never, ever disappointed. From the food and drinks selection through the entirety of the meal, it's a treat to come here. The service is always terrific and the atmosphere is low key and pleasant. Find what you like and enjoy it. You won't be sorry.

Google
Good food. Great service. The ambiance is much of an traditional upscale steakhouse type vibe. Parking is not the easiest so we valet. Enjoyed their braised rib, scallop, and 1/2 chicken. Try the napoleon creme brûlée. The pastry gives it the crunchiness in place of caramel. We really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Parkway Grill in Pasadena is such a wonderful restaurant and I have been dining here many times over the years, usually for special occasions. Last night did not disappoint as the room was appropriately decorated for the holidays which added to the always delightful ambiance. Beginning with valet parking (I know this is a minor detail... but one attendant opens the driver's side door while a different attendant opens the passenger side.) Just a nice touch. From the warm greeting by the host who brings you to your table to the servers and food runners, everything is perfectly choreographed. We each had specialty cocktails (the Herradura Margarita served up is especially good) as well as the variety bread basket definitely worth the upcharge. Followed with a Parkway Caesar with white Tuscan anchovies (one order split), a Saturday special Linguine pasta with steak, button mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes, scallops with lobster crusted potatoes, a glass of Rose and a glass of Riesling, Creme Brulee Napoleon with Phyllo squares filled with vanilla bean custard over a caramel sauce and some French Press coffee with the dessert. Everything was wonderful. And my good friend who had never been here before, really enjoyed celebrating his 24th birthday at Parkway Grill.

Yelp
Ordered something on Uber eats. Waited 2 hours never for it to be picked up. I called the restaurant and they claimed it left ages ago blaming Uber eats. Not true. As soon as i got off the phone the restaurant cancelled my order. Absolute nonsense

Yelp
Trip Advisor lists Parkway Grill as one of the best fine dining restaurants in Pasadena. Since 1984, they have been consistency holding on to that title. The food is quite good and the service stands up. Also on the same grounds is the Royal Chop House, owned by the same company. With some time to kill, I flipped a coin. The choice was Parkway Grill. Sitting at the bar I ordered Crab Cakes, Charred Broccolini and a Petite Filet. The food was nicely prepared and the meal was great. The Crab Cakes were not greasy, the Broccolini was not soggy, and the Filet was a perfect medium rare. My server Nas was very friendly, and he made a couple of great drink recommendations. He has been working at Parkway since 1986, so he spoke with authority. Overall, the Parkway Grill has a very good product. However, I would like to see this place get a bit of a facelift. They opened in 1984, and the decor reflects that. Some minor changes would make a huge difference (the hanging lamps and the 'office club chairs'). But that's just my opinion. At the end of the day, the service and the food are what is important, and they excel at both. Also, there are no stupid hidden fess added to the bill. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Parkway Grill is such a fave. The food is sinful, the drinks are dangerous, the venue is clean and the staff's attention to detail is incredible. My bestie had such an amazing time celebrating her birthday. Everything was beautifully plated and presented. The shrimp tempura on a stick is a must try if you've never been! The steak, the mash potatoes, and the espresso martini for dessert was everything. The dessert trio for the birthday girl was perfect for the photo! Thank you so much for helping me celebrate my besties birthday!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a special occasion. I ordered a rockin Rosie cocktail that looked really good and tasted amazing! It's sweet and romantic. My boyfriend had the modified mojito. For starters, we ordered the hamachi appetizer, it was so fresh, tasty and refreshing. Just enough to kickstart our appetite. We shared the aged angus steak, it's a 16 oz piece, we even had left over. The meat was so juicy and the first bite melted in the mouth, so heavenly. We paired the steak with side sweet pea and potatoes. The whole meal was fantastic. Parkway Grill never disappoints. It has a romantic and comfy vibe. The food is always consistent and the service is superb. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant filled up quite quickly. There was live music with the pianist playing jazzy music in the background. What a wonderful and pampered evening.

Yelp
Very Demure, Very Mindful little ole me had a cute little happy hour date (with myself) at Parkway grill. Arrived here around 6pm and came off the heels of a lovely afternoon in Pasadena. I had spend the afternoon at some other nice places like Nicks and Sorriso and wanted to continue the classy vibe so landed here for happy hour. I headed straight to the bar and had a great time. To drink, I had the french 75, super delicious, but it prompted me to get some food too. I opted for the lamb and they were very good. I spent about an hour enjoying my own company, talking to patrons at the bar and then headed out. This is the type of place to bring a date or a friend to impress. Very cute, Very classy, totally up my alley.

Yelp
OYSTERS & OLD FASHIONS The ambiance and lighting here is nice, you feel transported to a classy steakhouse in Chicago. Our server was attentive and always came back to refill our drinks. Prices very reasonable for an upscale restaurant. Oysters were fresh and delicious! Hamachi Crudo appetizer too! Short rib dinner, scallops and their pepperoni pizza also very tasty. Dessert get their crème brulee napolean its sooooo good! Crispy flakey pastry puffs with the creamy cold napolean. We couldn't find a sitter and had to drag our double stroller with our two kids. Thankfully they were sleeping and the staff were kind and allowed us to park it at our table lol. I'll be back again!

Yelp
Parkway Grill proved to be an exquisite choice for a romantic evening out. From the moment we were greeted by our server and introduced to the weekly specials, we knew we were in for a treat. Opting for the bone-in prime rib, lamb chop, mushrooms, potato, and crème brûlée, each dish surpassed our expectations. The server's recommendation of the old fashioned from their extensive whiskey selection was spot on. Every bite was a culinary delight, with both the steak and lamb cooked to a perfect medium rare and bursting with flavor. Notably, the lamb lacked any undesirable odors, and the seasoning elevated the taste to new heights. The crispy exterior of the potato was a delightful surprise, adding a satisfying crunch to each forkful. Portions were generous, making sharing a breeze. Our choice of drinks, including the margarita and old fashioned, showcased Parkway Grill's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. The whiskey, in particular, stood out for its rich aroma and smooth finish. The ambiance of Parkway Grill was ideal for a romantic evening, with dim lighting creating an intimate atmosphere. Whether you're on a date or simply craving a memorable dining experience, Parkway Grill comes highly recommended.

Yelp
We celebrated our 28th anniversary and had a great time. This is our "go-to" place for special occasions. Our server, Anna, was very attentive and accommodating. My wife's menu choices were all delicious and pleasing to her. I ordered the deep fried catfish. It was perfectly cooked and more than scrumptious!!! We enjoyed a nice meal and were treated to a dessert to top off our anniversary meal. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Always our favourite special occasion restaurant, atmosphere, service and food hard to beat! Worth the hour's (plus) drive to get there!

Yelp
Service was hit and miss. Seated on time with reservation. Hostess didn't seat us with menus and we asked the waiter for them when he served us water (he was prompt). Took a beat for the server to come and we had to ask her for today's specials. She was nice at the end and took a photo for us and brought a complimentary birthday dessert. The salad special of the day was burrata and arugula with mandarin oranges. Very yummy Ahi tuna tartare - good tuna Crab cakes - also very good Bread basket - not complimentary. Ordered the small basket. I wish the bread came warm, especially the corn bread. Grilled duck breast - duck was cooked medium as requested. Sauce was on the sweet side. Not as good as I wanted it to be Lobster mashed potatoes - so creamy and delicious, but only tiny pieces of lobster that I didn't even taste Cauliflower - nothing special but still a good side I tried a bit of the polenta and branzino. Both were very good.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Dimly lit steakhouse with wooden old school vibes. Snagged a table last minute on a Friday evening without a wait. Ordered the following: Lime and basil martini - too sweet for my liking. Had I known it was made with syrup, I would've ordered something else. Half a dozen oysters - was good. Nobody told us what kind of oysters they were. Caesar salad - standard and refreshing. Two pieces of anchovies Ribeye cap split in half with two sides - very good! Cooked as requested and server offered to have it cut in half as we shared. Shoestring fries - standard fries. Could have been fried a bit longer but still very good. Lobster risotto - buttery, smooth, with tiny pieces of lobster. Wish there was more lobster for the price point. Overall a good meal, left with a full belly and a smile on our faces.

Yelp
I had so much fun here with my family. Everyone here was really accommodating. They helped me with a family friends wheelchair and even set us up at a table that's easier for us to move around at. My fav dishes from the night : Lamp lollipop: crispy goat cheese polenta croquettes, pine nut fig relish, pomegranate mint syrup- my mom's favorite dish and she normally doesn't really like lamb. Ahi Tuna Tartar-hass avocado, fresno peppers, fresh ginger, cilantro and pickled shimeji vinaigrette, housemade black rice crackers- THIS right here. I ate all by myself and did not want to share. It was soooooo good. All the flavors blended in perfectly with each other. I wanted to order another but didn't want to overdo it. Roasted Marys chicken :goat cheese mashed potatoes, figs, lemon butter - I typically don't order chicken at restaurants but I've been feeling a little bit tired of red meat, so went ahead with my chicken dish. Honestly, I was surprised by how good this was chicken was nicely flavored it didn't taste totally bland and boring. The table next to us ordered the fried catfish and I so regret not ordering this. Presentation was A+. Will def order next time.

Yelp
Parkway Grill it's a great go to place for steaks another great food items. The restaurant itself is a decent size but it's not huge. There is a main dining area there's also an elevated area that's on the outside. There's also an outdoor air show area for larger parties. Overall the food is very good here. I've been here a couple times now. The scallops are very good, I ordered the ribeye last time and it was cooked to perfection. As for side dishes we got the scalloped potatoes and the grilled broccolini. Their pizzas are really spot on as well here so that's a great alternative on the menu. Reservations are always recommended and you should be able to find whatever platform they're on at the time. It's also probably a lot easier to valet your car here too since parking on Arroyo can be tough.. And about the valet attendants are amazing since the lot can get filled out fairly quickly they are able to work magic and shuffle the cars around. There is also street parking on the side streets and you may get lucky if you find a spot there.

Yelp
Came here for an early father's day celebration. I thought Parkway Grill overall was really nice. They were very busy but I was able to find a parking in the street. There are valet if that is what you guys want too. We ordered a few things and for the most part, I thought everything was decent to great. We ordered a bit of everything, from crab cakes, bean soup(taste like it sounds in a good way), steak, pork, fish and a few sides dishes: mushroom, mash potatoes, shishito peppers, cauliflowers, and lobster risotto. I would say that some of the sides didn't do it for me like the mash potatoes and the cauliflowers. I don't really love risotto but the one they made here really hit it for me. I also like the spicy shishito peppers that had the right amount of spicy. As for the crab cake, the crab cake itself was good but I thought the avocado didn't mesh that well together with it. As individuals, I like it but as a combination it didn't go together. We order rib eye, fish of the day(seabass), and hamon pork dish(believe it was a special). Although rib eye is nothing special, but it was also made pretty well. Like out of the 3 we ordered, I would probably take out the steak just because it wasn't special but it's nice when you can share all 3 of it together. The seabass with the sauce and veggies were really great together. I think the most surprising was the hamon pork. Never had anything like it but all the flavors from the apple sauce to great tender the pork is, it really was something special. I want to mention they recommended medium rare and that's what we ordered and when it came it was medium well but they were so nice and took it back and made us a new one and took off the corkage fee. Also, they asked if we wanted something while we wait for them to cook a new hamon dish. Desserts were pretty whatever imo but I usually don't order it in most places so I didn't deduct any points because of it. Overall, I was very satisfied with Parkway Grill and I don't think I'll forget that pork dish.

Yelp
Excellent!!!!! Thank you Parkway grill for making our Day special and memorable We had a wonderful 18th anniversary! Yelp
I was invited to a special celebration for a birthday and a graduation. Believe it, this is the place to fête an accomplished person. The restaurant staff made two greeting cards to congratulate him, that were better than anything I could have written. So heartwarming! Our service was a Master Class. Our server seemed like the chef herself, so knowledgeable, so helpful. Perfection. Chef's kiss! The wine list is as good or better than a Napa/Sonoma Winery, and we chose French for this evening. A beautiful Bordeaux. I had Gazpacho that was one of the best I've ever experienced. We had some confusion from previous pictures of reviewers, think that we had to order any side dish to go with the meat of sea food. Well, the main dishes come with a perfectly proportioned side, so we ordered enough food for six or seven people, instead of four. Recommend asking the wait staff about accompaniments on the plate. The embellishments for the steaks; We got one with blue cheese, one with truffle butter One with asparagus, lobster and Béarnaise. I imagined that the Béarnaise would be created with bits of asparagus and lobster, but instead it came like a surf and turf! It was way more food than I could eat. The restaurant provided a delicious chocolate celebratory cake with sparkler, wow! And one guest had the creme brulee, which is layered between crisps instead of in a little bowl. A fantastic memorable celebration!

Yelp
My favorite place, best service, food is always on point and the ambience is perfect. Ordered their lime basil martini, and it's perfection! Got their special for the evening which was the salad with mangoes and had a whole Branzino fish for my main and they were flaky yet mild in taste, loved everything about it. My friend had their scallops with lobster crusted potatoes and saffron and she thought it was so heavenly. Service and ambience for me are the most significant factors when go to a restaurant but Parkway Grill checks off all the boxes and more. Their consistency has kept them in the business for as far as I can remember.

Yelp
Delightful place to dine! I've been here twice and it doesn't disappoint. My husband brought me for my birthday and I brought my best friend to celebrate her marriage. Both times, we easily made reservations and seated near the back, slightly elevated area. There was a hand written card both times, congratulating us on our occasions- a wonderful start to the evening. We ordered the bread basket which had 4 varitties. Tasty and recommended because food took a while to arrive. We mostly ordered from their special/ limited menu at the time Oysters- a dozen with 3 different types. They were very fresh and flavorful, 9/10 Bread with cheese and prosciutto- verrry tasty. Might be too much carbs if you're planning to chow down on the bread bowl. 8/10 Lamb- it doesn't disappoint. My husband ordered it twice and it'll probably be his staple meal when he dines here 10/10 Steak- supper duperrr juicy! One of the juiciest steaks we tried and my favorite thing thus far! It was simply seasoned and the great quality really shined through 10/10 Scalloped Potatoes- our absolute FAVORITE site so far! Creamy, buttery and just perfect with each of our entrees 10/10 Sea bass (?)- i ordered one of their fish specials and although it was tasty, the portion and flavor wasn't as exciting as the steak and lamb on the table 6/10 Berries Creme Brule dessert- veryyyy delish and a nice sweet ending to an amazing meal

Yelp
If you live in the Pasadena area, you know this place as well as I do. It is amazing. Upscale, classy, delicious. Everything is wonderful, from the Valet, to the Service, to the food. I could rave about the poorly named tiger shrimp corndogs, because they're not corndogs, they're amazing tiger shrimp on a stick. But I'm not judging on the name. They were damn good. Truly, it is all about the whole ginger fried catfish. Period. Come here just for that. I think everybody does. If you do not like it, you are a Klingon, a Romulan, or a communist. Or all three. If you do not love this dish, you need to spend some time on a deserted island, thinking about where you currently are in life, what is wrong with you and your value system?!?? It is unbelievable. Order one for two people. It is succulent, the fish flesh is moist, the skin is crisp, it is beyond delicious. We have ordered this every single time we come here. Adventurous? Apparently not. But when you have an amazing thing, stick with it. Keep it up, Smith Brothers. And we will keep coming here. Along with the Arroyo Chophouse, and Smitty's. See you soon!

Yelp
So glad we chose Parkway Grill for a family celebration. It was in December so it was beautifully decked out with sparkly and opulent holiday decor. Service was top notch, access was easy and our meal was delicious; with the staff ensuring everything was prepared and served exactly as we wanted. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner in the 626.

Yelp
It's an old time favorite. Their menu is pretty much the same for SAs long i can remember. The good part is the quality of ingredients and taste has not changed. The ambience is dimmed and can be both a place for dinner dates or business dinners. We had the catfish, the pepperoni pizza, the Bolognese, short ribs, and some peppers for the side - all were good and nothing bad to say. Service was okay. Our waitress seemed like she was not familiar with the menu. She didn't know the answers to the questions we had on the menu. She was nice though. Overall experience was not bad. I will still go back.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday dinner and it was the best food gift I could ask for! Each bite of every dish was absolutely scumptious and took my food buds to heaven. I loved the appetizer special - whipped ricotta, duck prosciutto (beyond amazing), arugula, and bread. Not pictured was the beet salad which had the most delicious sweet beets in it. My favorite dish was the braised short rib which I'm still craving days later with it's perfect soft meaty taste (side vegetables were outstanding too). The scalloped potatoes and broccolini (perfectly crispy) sides melted in my mouth with how delicious they were. My friend's prime ribeye was the best steak I've ever had and my complimentary bday dessert (Crème Brûlée Napoleon) melted in my mouth with the best sweetness to it. As you would expect, the service was exceptional with an attentive and friendly server and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. For the Michelin star equivalent food you get, I think the prices are reasonable. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - I'm dying to go back already!

Yelp
Great place to eat, good food, good service and prices are also good. They have a piano player during weekend which we enjoyed a lot. We have been dining there many times.

Yelp
This is definitely a special occasion restaurant. The interior decor combines both the old and new. There are historical elements in the ceiling and the wood finishes lend it a modern, polished look. The side dishes were truly delicious. The broccolini looks simple, but is roasted to perfection. The lobster risotto is very rich in flavors, with lobster pieces sprinkled throughout. Finally, the scalloped potatoes here are a must have. It is a bit of a cross between scalloped potatoes and potatoes au gratin. The bread basket and the black bean soup were okay, but neither of them adds much taste value to the meal. The Ragù alla Bolognese smelled great, but it was a bit disappointing. The entire dish felt very heavy and monotonous, and it turned out quite dull in the end. The dessert was decent and the raspberry purée, but I might choose something else next time. Our server was friendly and professional, and the team was very attentive overall.

Yelp
Last night, we celebrated my son's birthday at this outstanding restaurant, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Our reservation was for 6:00 PM, and we were immediately ushered to a beautifully set table, complete with a personalized birthday card for my son. The cocktails we started with were exceptional - we tried the French 85 and 2 Manhattans and were thoroughly impressed. For starters, we each enjoyed a salad; the wedge salad has a generous amount of caramelized bacon, while my son's Caesar salad was elevated with a tasty anchovy filet. For our main course, the braised beef was tender, flavorful, and presented with care. My husband opted for the scallops, and he's still raving about them today. Dessert was an unforgettable chocolate lava cake accompanied by homemade ice cream, paired with a glass of port and an espresso martini for my son. Parkway Grill truly stands out as one of the finest dining experiences we've had. The ambiance is stunning, the clientele well-dressed, and the service impeccable. Dining here is a very elegant experience. We're eagerly looking forward to returning next month to celebrate his college graduation.

Yelp
Great service, beautiful ambiance. The oysters from BC were the most buttery I've ever had. Bread basket yummy. Warm and nice variety. We split a salad and entrée and It came split perfectly, as if it was individual entrées. Peach cobbler the perfect ending. Sweet but not too sweet, Ice cream rich with a perfect vanilla creaminess.

Yelp
Well it's official the parkway grill has become again my husband and I favorite restaurant. We have gone twice in the past 3 weeks and had the fish special Halibut and last night the Sea Bass. On both occasions the fish was cooked perfectly. I want to give a shout out to the staff also making the salads. We had the salad special last night with greens, blue cheese, grapes and almonds. It was gorgeous plated and dressed perfectly. I had the dessert special the strawberry shortcake. Okay this should be a regular dessert on the menu. I understand strawberries are seasonal. I can suggest blueberries., peaches or plums. That short cake was the star. Not over sweet, light and airy Our server was Holly She was personable and pleasant.

Yelp
Spent my birthday here with friends, we all brought a bottle of wine 2 reds and one white. Our server put the 2 reds in a decanter and poured us all a glass of the white. We all eventually ordered our food, which was amazing. Time went on and we all finished the white wine. Our glasses stayed empty for awhile, until I made the move and just started pouring our first decanted red. The server never checked in on us or attempted to refill our glasses. For a $35 corking fee, I would think the server would at least offer to pour our wine, but it didn't happen. We were empty again before our food was served and we filled our glasses with the final decanted red wine. The food arrived, like I said amazing dishes. With what little wine we have left we finish our dishes. After we were finished the server brought a surprise dessert for my birthday. Overall a great experience, server could have done better with the wine service considering we paid for three corking fees of $105.

Yelp
Parkway Grill is one of Pasadena's best upscale dinner experiences! Came during the holiday season to celebrate the engagement of my boyfriend's brother. Parkway greeted us with a handwritten letter of congratulations and a free dessert. Between ordering and then receiving the food, it was about an hour wait. We did not order any appetizers, and the waiter kept asking if we were okay LOL. I suppose with such long wait times, people usually order appetizers. The food itself was great! The short rib was tender and flavorful, but the scallops are truly AMAZING. First of all, they are enormous but also cooked to perfection. The shrimp linguine pasta was creamy and well seasoned. Portions for the entrees are definitely on the smaller side. We were not extremely hungry so 1 entree per person was enough, however I suggest you order an appetizer or some sides to fill you up. The creme brulee napoleon was crispy and the creme filling was not too sweet. Overall, the food quality is there, but with slow dinner service and incredibly high prices. A good place to come for a celebration, but be prepared for that bill!

Yelp
Parkway Grill has been a staple in Pasadena since 1984. I dinned here many years ago and finally got the opportunity to return. We came here for a birthday celebration on a Monday night. It was fairly empty when we arrived but by the time we left the place had filled up. Our server Juan was delightful and attentive. We ordered cocktails. I had my usual - a Grey Goose Martini, dry, up, with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives. The hand stuffed blue cheese olives were amazing! The blue cheese was so creamy. This martini was one of the best I've had. (I also recommend the French 85, which was also delicious.) We started with the breadbasket. There were four of us and the small size was plenty. It contained cornbread madeleines, cranberry nut bread, flat crackers, & sourdough. All made in house and each one was yummy! The butter that accompanied it was sprinkled with sea salt. We also shared the Ahi Tuna Tartar. The Ahi was fresh, the chopped avocado was buttery, and the sauce had a nice flavor. Our entrées consisted of: The fish of the day (I think it was Sea Bass), Ragù alla Bolognese, U.S.D.A. Prime Filet Mignon with a side of Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, and the Bibb Lettuce Salad. They grow their own organic vegetables and herbs in a garden behind the restaurant. I could taste the quality in my salad. The Di Steffano Burrata Cheese that came with it was so soft and creamy. My friends were all very happy with their dinner selections. Everything was fresh and flavorful, including the pasta, which is made in house. The presentation of the Filet was a little sad compared to the other plates. For dessert we shared the Meyer Lemon Custard (topped with a shortbread cookie with house made ice cream and fresh raspberry sauce) and the Chocolate Lava Cake with berries and house made ice cream. Both were fantastic! The food was delicious, and the service was great. The stained glass skylights and the beautiful bar from the 1920s added to the appeal of the ambience. What made the night even more special was the lovely handwritten, personalized birthday note for the birthday boy. Very classy. Tip: Valet Parking $7

Yelp
I grew up in pasadena. I've been there a few times. I know that local elite like to say they go there to hang out. Food was a 6... with prices that high for the food its under a 5 (scale 1-10). The pasta was soggy, the scallop potatoes way too greasy. Salad was fine... soup good. Who can't do soup and salad. They still have Covid era dining taking up the parking lot. Parking is a mess. I should just paid the "man" and got the steak. I'm sure they do that well. With so many great places to eat, why the Parkway Grill.

Yelp
Very fancy this place was able to accommodate 20+ ppl for a company dinner! For a group this size the staff was superb and very attentive. Shrimp corndogs were fried and the Thai sauce was like a sweet and sour taste - very good. Lamb lollipops were also fantastic and definitely an appetizer bc it comes in three and are small. Sea bass - so so so tender this fish; not too fatty - I gobbled it all up in a few minutes. No regrets. Someone ordered the catfish which was HUGE and garnered a lot of table talk. It was good and like a standard fried fish but I much preferred the sea bass Also we ordered the mashed potatoes with goat cheese and that was AMAZING

Yelp
Amazing in every way. Service, hostess, food. Unforgettable. Perfect way to spend our 23rd anniversary. Jose was the best. We couldn't have asked for a better evening.

Yelp
A great Pasadena restaurant that's been around for years. Every time we eat here the food is always fresh and the service is excellent. The restaurant runs a "daily" special that the server will inform the diners.

Yelp
The Parkway Grill delivers a cozy atmosphere and incredible dining. I enjoyed a beautifully presented, flavorful tuna tartare and fresh oysters for starters. Both dishes were light and refreshing, although the oysters did have a bit of grit to them. For my entrée I had the second best Chilean seabass I've ever had. This was the first time I've ever been asked how I'd like my fish cooked. I ordered it medium rare, same as I order my steak. This fish was exquisite. It had a lovely sear on the outside that was packed with flavor and the inside was glistening and moist. Excellent fish! My companion had the lamb and it was divine. It was cooked perfectly with great seasoning. I enjoyed the lamb just as much as fish. I was very impressed with the quality of our entrées. I cannot wait to come back and try other dishes!

Yelp
So, I treated myself to the Parkway Grill on Wednesday, February 8th. Went with a friend; we had been wanting to check it out for a while. The ambiance was very nice and the service was excellent. I ordered crab cakes, the beet salad, scalloped potatoes, and the shrimp scampi pizza with a cranberry pineapple Juice drink. My friend ordered the black bean soup and the broccolini (cheapest things on the menu, lol). The best thing I ordered was the shrimp scampi pizza... it was absolutely divine, the crust was perfect and the shrimp were plump and juicy and flavourful. Everything else was just so-so. The portion sizes were great, however. My friend's bean soup was just "meh" nothing special . The broccolini was very, very tender, but she didn't care for the citrus flavor. My scalloped potatoes were nothing to write home about.. they could have done with some seasoning pizzazz. The beets in the salad were plentiful, and the Romanian lettuce was crisp and fresh. The crab cakes were very disappointing, and I had really been looking forward to them as I am the crab cake queen! They were just so so ...I could not really taste the crab meat, and they were on the small side. I brought home a lot of leftovers that have lasted me for 3 days. Did not get dessert this time. You do have to pay for bread and it is a nice assortment but it was not warm and the butter was cold. One final thing: the bathrooms are very clean with nice paper towels that really dry your hands well! I will definitely be back for the pizza and the molten lava cake.

Yelp
When the server and the manager make you feel it was a mistake to come here...you're in the wrong place. My skin color may be brown but my money is still green. Shameful. Oh and the sourdough was stale.
