Midwestern Doughnuts and Coffee Transplanting to Oceanside | Eater San Diego

"I saw Parlor Doughnuts open to huge crowds in Evansville earlier this year, and it will travel cross-country for a second location in early 2020 as part of SALT, downtown Oceanside’s luxury apartment and retail development near the pier. Owner Darrick Hayden said the San Diego move is tied to his wife's roots, and the all-day eatery will expand beyond its sweets to offer acai bowls, toasts, sandwiches, and cookies. Made in small batches, Parlor’s signature flaky, fried croissant-style doughnuts—made famous by cronut king Dominique Ansel—are offered in a wide range of flavor combinations, including French Toast with maple glaze and cinnamon sugar; Campfire with marshmallow glaze, graham cracker, and chocolate chips; and Dreamcicle with orange and vanilla glaze. The shop also makes vegan and gluten-free baked doughnuts as well as a sugar-free variety, and Hayden says they may open more locations in the San Diego area." - Candice Woo

The doughnuts here are really good! I saw a lot of people walking at the Oside Beach with boxes of these and I went it to get one and a cup of coffee. The service was great, servers are super friendly. The ambience is chill and welcoming. The doughnuts looked tasty and they have mini doughnuts too plus the prices are reasonable. I got the maple bacon and it was delicious paired with their latte. I also came back to but the mini doughnuts and my friends enjoyed every flavor.

CHILL LITTLE SHOP w/ mid-tier donut options. I stopped by per my Mom's recommendation as we heard good things about Parlor. It's a pretty big donut organization now across the US, so we decided to try it. I wasn't a major fan of the bread ratio inside my "Sandy Beach" donut. My mom and some other reviews said they're going for a cronut style of pastry. However, this wasn't flaky nor tasted like a cronut. It just felt like an excessive amount of bread without flavor, aside from the top and outer bread layer. The flavor wasn't bad on the outside (it was actually pretty good), however the inside was very underwhelming. Its a shame as the outside of the "donut" tasted like a mix of apple pie and cinnamon roll. I'll give the shop credit for their tasty coffee, I loved my layered cold brew! Service was also hit or miss, a young couple in front of me was treated poorly. I didn't like that. I was treated pretty well, but I hate to see other people my age get mistreated. Only one younger guy (an employee) who was working double time had a nice attitude. My Dad and I were disappointed as the autumn specialty items were not available. This was not a inventory issue, they just didn't have anything ready. I wasn't a fan of the decor, it just was too over the top in some places. I did enjoy the lighting and retro feel, but it felt like this location was trying too hard with the excessive decorations in the background. The bathroom was gross and unkempt. Overall, there's lots of improvements needed at this location, however I believe in second chances so I want to try their other items, maybe I'll be surprised?

Google
Croissant donuts or as they call them layered doughnuts….so yummy! We got French toast and a maple bacon. We got a gluten free chocolate chocolate doughnut as well, my son approved! Said he’d get it again when we come back!

Google
Beyond Disappointing. Please note this review is specifically for the Vegan & Gluten Free Donuts. I’ll gladly update this review if there are updated/changes to these options. For a place that takes pride (clearly visible in their regular donuts), why the hell would you put vegan & gluten free in the same donut without providing regular vegan options too? To top it off, all the donuts are $4.25 EACH for the tiniest bite size donut. It doesn’t matter what kind of toppings, frosting, glaze etcetera that you put on it, a gluten free item is tasteless (or I should say tastes the exact same with a worse after taste than any regular dairy made donut). Also for those that are unaware, most gluten free items are dry too. It doesn’t say on the menu nor did the very sweet & kind hostess that helped us tell me about them until after I asked her what those little tiny things the Pastry Chef was making in the back. She said those are your donuts & proceeded to tell me they were baked not fried & that they were both vegan & gluten free. I was ordering these donuts thinking that they had the option of EITHER vegan OR gluten free options. Very disappointing considering I researched this space & was told by local friends that it’s a must. The regular donuts look absolutely gorgeous & taste (I had to stay neutral about the overall venue & took a bite of my Girlfriends donut) pretty damn good. Do better on the Vegan & Gluten Free donuts. Keep up the high integrity & high quality product that you showcase in the glass cases up front. I’ll look forward to coming back in the future. Hopefully there will be some better options (I’m back in town in November). Thank you Team Parlor Doughnuts for the overall hospitality.

Google
Great location in downtown Oceanside. Quick easy access to the pier and restaurants. Outdoor seating was great to enjoy the sunshine. The people were amazing. Enjoy a delicious donut with a cup of coffee.

Google
The atmosphere is interesting, though there isn’t much space to sit and eat. The server was friendly. The regular donut was very fresh and fluffy, but the gluten-free one was not as enjoyable—it was dense, lacked flavor, and was quite small, even by gluten-free standards.

Google
This is hands down the best and most authentic donut place! Every donut tastes amazing, soft, and full of flavor. Every time we’re in town, we have to stop by and grab some because they’re just that good. It’s definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves donuts!

Google
We couldn’t get enough Parlor Doughnuts during our one week stay in Oceanside. We wanted to try them all but there are too many flavors. We loved the apple pie one and coconut cream filled. What a unique take on the over populated standard doughnut market. I think that’s why they’re so popular. Don’t plan on eating there, they don’t have seating. Walk down to Pannikin to get a coffee with your sweets.

Yelp
I spent the weekend in Oceanside at the Mission Pacific Hotel. I saw several people carrying these long boxes. I piqued my interest. I what did it for me was when someone carried the box into the elevator at the hotel. I had to ask him what was in the box. He said it was parlor donuts and that their donuts look different. They have us directions and I decided to visit them for a 3 p.m. snack. The place is 5 minutes within walking distance from Mission Pacific. It's on the corner by Toasted Gastropub. There's plenty of seating outside. The sign and decor outside is hip. Inside they have decorated the place with old world charm. You can buy coffee bags and merchandise. The donuts! There are 3 cases of donuts displayed. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I should've checked reviews first. I went with the peanut butter cup, strawberry shortcake, bourbon and maple bacon. The one thing that is similar about all their donuts were the taste. The base of the donut was a rolled cronut. It tasted like a crispy croissant on the outside and soft dough in the middle. It was very different. The peanut butter cup was oozing with chocolate. The chocolate was dripping out of the donut and got all over everything. Otherwise, the peanut flavor was lacking for me. 8/10. The bourbon donut was OK. Again, it was dripping and oozing. 8/10 Strawberry shortcake was my favorite. The strawberries were fresh. I kept going for more bites. It was so good. 10/10. The maple bacon was good. It's sprinkled with real bacon bits. The maple was subtle 8/10. There were so many choices that I would definitely like to come back and try them.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Oceanside, Parlor Doughnuts beckons with its artisanal creations. This small, quaint shop is more than a mere bakery; it's a haven for flavor enthusiasts seeking delectable doughnuts and exceptional coffee. Flavorful Selection: As you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked doughnuts envelops you. The display case reveals an array of tempting treats. Whether you crave classics like maple bacon or seek adventure with unique flavors, Parlor delivers. French toast, caramel bourbon, and Sandy Beach are just a few of the stars in their constellation of doughnuts. Each bite is a revelation--a symphony of flaky, buttery dough, expertly balanced icing, and creative toppings. Stellar Service: Riley, our patient guide, navigated us through the doughnut galaxy. Her recommendations ensured we sampled the best. Parlor's service is warm, friendly, and attentive. They understand that doughnuts are more than food; they're moments of joy. Ambiance and Location: The shop's quaint charm invites you to linger. Wooden accents, cozy seating, and sunlight filtering through the windows create a welcoming atmosphere. Conveniently located on Cleveland Street, it's an easy walk from nearby resorts like The Seabird Resort. Conclusion: Parlor Doughnuts transcends mere pastries; it's an edible adventure. Whether you're a local or a curious traveler, surrender to the allure of these doughy delights.

Yelp
The parlor doughnut Co. Is a legit bakery. They feature a unique variety of doughnuts that would be more like a light, fluffy croissant-ish doughnut. Our hands-down favorite was the French Toast doughnut. On our walk back to Wyndham Oceanside we gulped down the entire thing. I'd probably enjoy a bit more frosting on the doughnuts we sampled, because they are pretty large. Although the price is close to $4 a piece, it wouldn't keep us away:) they also serve a variety of coffees. Thanks Parlor, for doing it up so well!

Yelp
Omg omg omg when I tell you this is one of my favorite doughnut spots . They are so so good . My favorite is strawberry shortcake. Lemonade, plain jain

Yelp
Their raspberry filled minis are to die for! I could eat a dozen of them in one sitting. Their doughnuts are filled with flaky layers and the un-iced parts are crispy so totally my vibe. I tried their regular doughnuts and the raspberry pistachio ones are why I'd come back. I didn't care for the dreamsicle, they were too sweet for my liking. The lines can get long, but they are quite efficient. The parking on the other hand is a nightmare.

Yelp
If Heaven had doughnuts, this is what they would taste like! These doughnuts are light and airy and super delicious. The staff were super friendly and provided outstanding service. Veterans, they provide a 15% discount.

Yelp
It is located 2 blocks from the ocean pier, right after you go past the under pass. There's seating outside so you can enjoy them under the sun! You'll see people with these boxes walking around so I had to try them too! They have doughnuts coming out every so often so you know they keep selling. They all look amazing so it's hard to choose. They are so fluffy, soft, and fun to eat. They remind me like a Croissant that taste like a donut. So good!!!! They have their best sellers so you can't go wrong. The service is great too. The ladies were all so nice and welcoming. You have to stop for these!!
google avatar

Hanaah F.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time. They have a wide variety of flavors. Purchased some donuts to share with the family. The donut itself was very fluffy, kind of reminded me of a croissant. Not doughy, which is the way I like it. The banana creme pie (seasonal) was not too sweet (the cream filling). The rest of the flavors were all pretty good, except some tasted very similar. Overall, all pretty delicious!

Yelp
These are even better fresh! Service is really fast! The interior is small but they get you in and out really fast!

Yelp
This is a great spot for doughnuts! They are located 2 blocks from the Oceanside pier. Staff are friendly and efficient. These are not your basic typical donuts. They are large and fluffy! They have a great variety. Today they had 2 doughnuts that were filled. One was a raspberry jelly and the other one they had was filled with coconut. My mom tried the raspberry filled one. It was really good! The jelly was fresh and not too sweet. I had the strawberry shortcake. It was topped with fresh strawberries, icing, and a touch of whipped cream. It was delicious! My sister got the Salty beach which was the frosted glaze with cinnamon sugar nice and light. The donuts were flaky and easy to pull apart. Check them out you won't be disappointed. This is a MUST if you are in DT Oceanside.
google avatar

Yelp
10/10 on the doughnuts. This is a non traditional shaped donut and blew me away with the crispy outside and doughy center. The flavor variety was vast and intriguing and I wish I got a whole dozen to try them all! The service was great as I asked for recommendations and was provided with what was most popular. The shop is small but on a Saturday morning there was not much of a crowd and still plenty of inventory!
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Unlike any donuts I've ever had! They are large and filling. They are like a cross between a donut and a croissant. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Grace N.

Yelp
Wow, these were really something special! I would say these donuts are a mix between croissant, donut, and brioche. They're much less greasy than "Cronuts" but they do have have the flaky, light, slightly chewy, airy texture like the center of a croissant or brioche. The outside is crispy without being oily. We got the lemon bar, raspberry filling, sandy beach, and peanut butter chocolate. We also grabbed a mini coconut filled bite. Every single thing was great. The star of each donut truly is the dough and the toppings came in to enhance the dough. The hype is well deserved and I would definitely come back for these.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Heard about donuts and had to check them out. My wife liked the peanut butter chocolate. We also ordered my favorite maple bacon which was good but my real favorites were the strawberry shortcake with real strawberries and the bourbon carmel. These were quite good and the donuts themselves were moist and fresh with a more croissant style which I found was very good. The service was fast, friendly, and helpful. The inside was quaint and inviting with plenty of outside seating.

Yelp
Came in with my family on a Friday morning. This place is FILTHY! The cart that has all of the coffee things on it has thick, visible dirt, hair and clumps of dust bunnies on it! The floor is disgusting. It also smells like old fry oil inside. The donut case had dried icing dripped on the inside showing that a different flavor donut used to be there. The case had smears all over it and made everything look really unappetizing. Adult daughter ordered a 2 Vegan donuts and the consistency was like chalky, dense Playdough. She took one bit and threw them away. Way too highly priced for awful donuts. Management really needs to take a look at this store and do a deep clean. Sadly, I do not recommend.
google avatar

Ali H.

Yelp
I loved the fun flavors and trying a variety of these doughnuts, which are definitely more of a cro-nut! They have so many fun flavors and options to try! I think the strawberry shortcake was one of my favorites! The whipped cream on top was so fresh and delicious. They are very sweet and rich though, so I'd recommend cutting them up and sharing!
google avatar

Marlene A.

Yelp
I ordered chocolate carnival and strawberry carnival, maple bacon and the keto chocolate. The keto one was WAY too rich and sweet I couldn't finish it. Kids loved their carnival donuts. Husband loved his maple. Next time I'd try a different one.
google avatar

Yelp
I saw this donut place on Yelp to check out boy am I happy to have stopped by before leaving town this morning. The inside is super cute and they have tons of options. The donuts are large so you could share if you don't want a whole one. We got the peanut butter and Cookies & Cream. The peanut butter was pretty rich but delicious. My favorite was the cookies & cream! Soooo tasty! The workers were really nice and service was quick.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute doughnut shop. We enjoyed our blueberry hill doughnut. The layers were soft and flaky like a croissant. We felt it was a little expensive, but fun to try something different.
google avatar

Lorenzo M.

Yelp
Great food display and cleanliness. The staff is attentive. Fresh and delicious treats are found here. If you are a connoisseur of delicious bakery treats. You will not go wrong at this establishment. Keep up with crafting the delicious treats please.

Yelp
Stopped by on my last day in Oceanside and wish I would've visited sooner!! These donuts were absolutely delish!! I'm not a big donut fan by any means so I'm always a little skeptical trying a new donut spot but these definitely stepped up to the plate. It was a late Saturday morning so by the time we got into the store some flavors, like their strawberry, we're already sold out. Either way, we were still able to find some flavors that called our attention. The attendant at the counter was also very helpful in helping us pick our flavors. We ordered the honey glazed and their s'mores flavor. These donuts are so soft and fluffy and have the perfect frosting to dough ratio. I loved how light and airy the dough felt in comparison to a traditional donut which can be too doughy to me. These donuts can be more comparable to a cronut with their pillowy flaky layers. Sadly, they don't have one in Miami yet but it seems they'll be opening up in Fort Lauderdale. These are definitely donuts I would make a drive for!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
I really liked Parlor Doughnuts. The first thing you'll notice is the aroma. You can almost smell the pastries outside the door so you know you're in for a treat! They're right on the corner of Cleveland Street and close to a few shops and restaurants. We ordered a few different doughnuts but my favorite was the strawberry whip cream. It tasted crispy on the outside and soft in the inside and the flavor was great! The service is very quick and easy. They get your selection ready and have you on your way before you know. Id definitely stop by again when in the are.
google avatar

Lorrie Y.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot in Oceanside! They have excellent doughnuts and coffee. They're probably more like a cronut! Came on a Sunday around 10 and it was super quick service. And they have tables outside.
google avatar

Eric D.

Yelp
Apparently I was living under a rock. I never knew layered donuts was a thing until we dropped into Parlor Donuts. They're incredibly tasty. Fried crispy layered on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. The fat kid goodness. I don't know how else to describe it other than it's freaking good. Parlor also offers keto friendly which was my main go to. They're made to order depending on availability. I dropped in on the middle of the week and they seem to have some around noonish time. It's a great fix if you're doing keto. Plenty of seating on the outside and clean bathrooms for their customers. Street parking at this location. Cheers
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
These are amazing donuts! I'm not sure they are donuts as much as they are perfectly crafted croissants in a doughnut form with amazing ingredients! These are not cronuts! The dough is soft and flavorful and offers a perfect platform to incorporate layers of flavor and fresh ingredients. We had the churro, blueberry, pistachio, raspberry, vanilla, peanut butter, and chocolate. They were all delicious! The donuts themselves look like they would be really heavy and dense. This could be not farther from the truth. The donuts are light and enjoyable in the mouth. It's hard to understand how good these donuts are just by looking at them. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by and grab a few donuts! These are really unique and delicious. Looking for donuts in a beach town I did not expect to find something that I might find on the streets of Paris, or London! well done parlor doughnuts!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great little donut and coffee shop. retro military theme tattered Old Glory on the backwall friendly team, communicative and accommodating. The donuts are flavorful with a unique variety to choose from. Coffeesand Espressor based drinks are served hot and with a smile. Absolutely worth a visit. Sláinte Mhath!
google avatar

Yelp
Such friendly associates offering great suggestions and their "favorite" choices. Layered doughnuts are the next best thing. Over 20 different daily choices. So fresh so scrumptious. Day 1 choices were Bourbon Caramel, Maple Bacon and Churro. Day 2 was French Toast and Strawberry Shortcake. A great spot for a daily visit. Can't wait to see what I decide tomorrow
google avatar

Yelp
I have been hearing about this place for a while now but it's two hours from me and I was finally able to try it this past weekend when I was staying in Oceanside. I got two regular size donuts and two minis that they had. Walked outside and ate them and knew I was going back the very next day! The donuts are all a cronut type of donut, extremely fresh, moist, and delicious. I don't know what their frosting is made of but it just melts in your mouth. These are the best donuts I have ever had. I will definitely make the drive for these anytime as they are well worth it and I cannot wait to try the rest of the flavors I haven't had yet. Not one flavor I've had has been bad yet. Flavors Tried: Dreamsicle - Taste exactly like the creamsicle ice cream French Toast Honey Glaze Blueberry Crumble - This in my opinion was the best one so far Strawberry Shortcake
google avatar

Crissy G.

Yelp
Walked over here and there was no line! Tons of donut options. Cute little place! The donuts were yummy! Nice and fluffy!
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
Oh my heaven these are the greatest donuts I've ever had! I actually tend to steer clear of regular donuts as they're too dense and heavy for me but, Parlor gets it right every time. We've tried many different flavors but my favorite so far is the Raspberry Pistachio. Even though they're huge they don't go down that way as the dough is surprisingly light and flaky which allows the different flavors to shine. I'm embarrassed to admit that we get these as much as we do but, they're worth every single calorie!
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Passed by here once before brunch and was so happy I did- now I crave this place all the time. Their donuts are different than any other donut shop- they are almost like a Malasada type texture, with a bit of chewiness like a cronut. The Sandy Beach and French Toast are my favorites. If you're looking for something heavier and sweeter then any of their chocolate options/reese's/cookies n crème is what you're looking for. Service is nice and they typically do have donuts through to the afternoon, but their popular flavors sell out. Ambiance is a very cute small donut shop- with some merchandise, and coffee options. Got these boxes to go and they are still really good at home. These are donuts you don't need to be heated up/freshly made to still be enjoyed.

Yelp
I always love coming to Parlors for a nice sweet treat! Came on my birthday and was treated with kindness from Danny. He was extremely nice! Got the turtle cheesecake and tasted delicious!

Yelp
Visiting OC with friends we stopped at Parlor Doughnuts, an establishment that prides themselves on layered donuts (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), for a pre-dinner snack. The donuts were huge! They also offer gluten-free and keto. I stopped again later in the week with even more friends and wanted to share these scrumptious treats. Wow, I was disappointed! The donuts were doughy and not fluffy. I talked with the young man behind the counter and explained to him my disappointment and asked what happened to the doughnuts? He asked me what day I was there. When I told him, he smiled from ear to ear and said, "I baked the doughnuts on the day they were fluffier!" He proceeded to tell me that he bakes them one minute longer than everyone else. NOTE to owner: Jamerson needs to be in charge of baking all the doughnuts!!! What a HUGE difference between the two days!! Thank you Jamerson for coming through, recognizing good customer service and bringing me a box of fluffier doughnuts!
google avatar

Jose M.

Yelp
Food: 100% fresh everything this is my third time coming here. and the donuts are dreamy!! Soft and full of flavor. Service: prompt quick and friendly. They didn't have some of the donuts I wanted so went to the back and made them.. Great service!! Ambiance: Small but comfortable. Warming feeling with a touch of the old school beach feel.

Yelp
My favorite donuts in north county Layered donuts Made in Small batches No inside seating Coffee shop Strong flavors Street parking Next to beach entrance Careful of the bees outside Flavors sell out Line moves fast Hot Coffee is good also

Yelp
I stumbled upon Parlor Doughnuts while in Oceanside for my husband's work and after walking into the store knew I needed to bring my husband back to pick doughnuts to try. We got one salted caramel doughnut to spit and then ended up getting more doughnuts later that night. Our favorite being the Sandy Beach (I think that was the name). The doughnuts look like they'll be greasy and heavy, but they were surprisingly light and fluffy. The only downfall, to me, is that they are more of an eat fresh doughnut and didn't seem to be as great the next day. Would definitely recommend trying.
google avatar

Natalie R.

Yelp
Great selection of donuts and nice little shop in Oceanside! We came here Saturday early afternoon for some donuts and it was my first time. Lots to choose from and plenty of creative ones that are unique to their shop. I got a blueberry hill as I didn't want something super sweet and this hit the spot. Very yummy, just enough blueberry, and not overly sweet, although, I just couldn't finish it all. They also have a small selection of drinks before you get to their display case of donuts with: regular me chocolate milk, apple juice, orange juice, and more. The only thing I'll say is their case was kind of filled with bees flying all around on the donuts and the little bits left over on empty trays inside. As I don't think they can do any harm it was kind of surprising to look inside and see them all over the items
google avatar

Matthew P.

Yelp
One of the finest pastries I've ever eaten. We had the dreamsicle! Amazing and chewy and perfect.

Yelp
My kids love the Sandy Beach donut! They absolutely go crazy in a good way for it! This place is great to sit outside and enjoy a donut!

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cute store, but their gluten-free donuts could use more work. **This review is for the gluten-free donuts only!** Due to the hubby developing a sensitivity to gluten of late, we've been trying gluten-free options wherever we see them. When our friends and I stopped in here and saw that they had gluten-free donuts, we decided to give them a try. We got the chocolate chocolate and raspberry pistachio. The order seemed to take a long time to come out so I asked the cashier about them and he went in the back to talk to the kitchen, and the donuts came out soon after. The donuts looked good enough, but when we started eating them we noticed that the dough was kind of cool--did they not cook it enough, or had it been sitting around? Do the gluten-free ones start out frozen? Not sure. The glaze was tasty, but I was expecting the chocolate chocolate donut to have chocolate cake dough, but it was the same plain as the other one, and there were no pistachio bits on the raspberry one. The texture of the dough was kind of like waterlogged particle board, but really, what more should I have expected from gluten-free baked goods? Maybe this is as good as it gets? The search continues.

Yelp
We were vacationing in Oceanside and on our last day, decided to take a quick walk around Downtown Oceanside before checking out of our Airbnb. We found this coffee and doughnut shop so we ventured in. There were three girls working and they were very welcoming. I am used to Starbucks coffee (I know, I know) and I am newer in the whole Matcha trend and when I explained that to the barista, she said she knew just what to do and would still be able to give me a real matcha experience. She absolutely delivered. My drink was delicious. My daughter, son, father in law and husband all got doughnuts as well and those were quickly devoured so I am also saying those were delicious too. If we find ourselves in the area again - we will definitely be back for the great drinks, coffee and awesome staff.
google avatar

Katelyn H.

Yelp
Always come here for a quick sweet treat when down by the beach. The sandy beach is the absolute best consistent donut around and the speciality flavors are always fun to take a look at! Service is short but good. They have coffee but never tried it. Will for sure be back.

Yelp
Expect to wait in line but its like a Pinks [hot dogs in LA] thing because we made some new friends in line and it went very fast. There are lots of options and appreciate the water, although I was a little surprised to see some women filling up their flasks [they were like 1/2 gallon] so you can imagine we were tilting the water pitcher to get a cup. The doughnuts were very good. You can never go wrong with the bacon maple but we also shared a Blueberry Hill. Super sweet but there were so many options I panicked and just pointed to the first doughnut in front of me. Yeah, I know I waited in line for a long time but you can't see the complete offering until you get in front of it. The staff and girl that took our order was very nice and everyone around was very professional.

Yelp
Heard about this place before. It's our first visit. They are located at the prime location. I like they have all these special layered donuts, it's like a denser round croissant with different frosting/flavors. I really like the concept. The donuts are super sweet which I think a lot of people would love the super sweet stuffs. I prefer a more balanced approach where we get to actually taste the flavors other than just sugar alone. Service was good. The staff helping us behind the counter was friendly. The 2-star review is due to hygiene. There were quite a few flies inside the donuts display. I were not going to order any but decided to take a chance. Get a flies zapper or anything to keep the flies away from the donuts.

Yelp
I got the cookies and cream donut and it did not disappoint -- seriously one of the most delicious donuts I've ever had! It's unique because the texture is as if they cooked it to where it's just about ready to become a traditional donut but not all the way, so it's nice and crispy on the outside but bit doughy (but not like an undone donut) on the inside. I'd compare it to somewhat like a mochi donut. I live about an hour away and I can't wait to come back for more!

Yelp
My daughter brought home these donuts and my first time tasting such gourmet donuts. These layered buttery dough that are fried to perfection to that outside crispness at the same time so light fluffy inside. Choices of different toppings available. I got to taste : French Toast Maple Bacon Sandy Beach Campfire Caramel Bliss I was in heaven with every bite!!

Yelp
We are visiting from Orange County and someone recommended this spot and we are so happy they did. Parlor Donut Shop offers the best donuts and the friendliest staff around. Their donuts are always fresh and the flavors are unreal. What truly stands out is the staff's genuine warmth and exceptional service. Riley helped us twice, we went last night and early this morning, (it's that good!) and she was so sweet, helpful and patient. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious donuts and a welcoming experience! Thank you Riley and Parlor Donuts!

Yelp
Unique flavors. Friendly staff. A good cup of coffee. We would come back. My favorite was the blueberries.

Yelp
Came across Parlor Doughnuts while visiting Oceanside. It was just down the street from my hotel, and a very short walk to the beach. The first day I came, we were greeted by a friendly employee who asked if we had questions about anything. We ordered a couple of doughnuts and lattes, which were really really tasty. I had the Turtle cheesecake doughnut, which was absolutely outstanding. I came back in the next day just before leaving to go home. The girl who helped us did not greet us at all; just says "how many doughnuts will you be ordering?" There was no greeting, not even a smile. Just kind of generally unfriendly. She then rang us up and placed the box on the counter and walked away. There was no "thank you, bye, etc," nothing. One star taken off for the unfriendly service the second time. Otherwise, their donuts are quite delightful.

Yelp
OMG! Got to stop in and try these donuts or are they donuts .... Not only are they wonderful to look at they taste amazing! Sugar heaven. I went early so it wasn't as busy but I hear it gets a line. Enjoy outside seating near by and take in all of Oceanside.
