Teide National Park

Amazing atmosphere, views, and nature. The colors of the rocks and cliffs are absolutely breathtaking. We had tickets fot the gondola but the ride was cancelled because of the strong wind. So instead we did some hiking and climbing, and it was also truly an unforgettable experience for the whole family. You can park your car and just follow the trails - all of them are special - but be advised to have additional warm clothes with you as the weather there is inpredictable...

So much to see and so many spectacular trails to walk in this National Park. Sometimes it feels like you're on a different planet and the next moment like you have travelled back in time, there's literally something new to see around every corner. Don't just stop for the views from the carpark, but walk some trails to really experience the beauty of this area. There's nothing quite like it!

🌋✨ Teide National Park is out of this world—literally! Walking here feels like strolling on the moon 🌕. The hiking trails are phenomenal, especially the jaw-dropping “Sendero 9” 🥾💦. Don’t forget to download the app 📲 for maps and permits. Bring sturdy shoes, lots of water 💧, sunscreen ☀️, and a hat 👒—you’ll want to be prepared to soak in every breathtaking view! 🏞️🌟

Nothing spectacular, personally I don't like dry brown rocky surrounding, boring views for most of the hike. Massive hustle to obtain permits, it's a big -. It will be much better in my opinion to stay on the beach to do snorkeling enjoy 🌊 or explore towns

Booked through Lonten Tours at my hotel to go on a coach excursion. It was a really fun time with enough stops, time for food and places to see. The tour guide really knew her stuff and it was great. The coach driver was great, he drove very smooth, no jolts.

Amazing place. We hired a car and drove here. Narrow ish roads so be cautious of larger vehicles cutting the white lines to make the corners. Views en route were breathtaking. We pulled in at a few spots including base of the volcano for sightseeing and photos. Truly amazing scenery, a must if you visit the area.

Absolutely beautiful region during the day but especially at NIGHT. Would 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys stargazing or any sort of astronomy. Bring a camera and a towel to lay down and look up. Do the sunset in the summer around 9pm to see the surrounding islands and then drive up further to the National park around Mirador de La Ruleta, there’s plenty of parking and room to use a camera with a tripod! A highlight of our holiday.

Breath taking!!! We did the Roques de Garcia (2 miles, easy) and it was so beautiful. It took about an hour and there were lots of parking at the trail head.

Visited on December 20, 2023. If you have the chance to do the hike to the top of Spain's highest peak, DO IT! You have to go with a guided tour and heard there might even be fewer spots to climb to the top as hikers love to take some of the flora as souvenirs. Def try to book weeks ahead. The views are still fantastic from the top of the cable car area. The guided hike starts where the cable car drops you off. It's not difficult and the panoramic views above the clouds are amazing - VERY peaceful. Make sure to stand at the very tippy top (a very small area for literally a few people; everyone gets a selfie from there). On the hike you also see & smell the fumaroles and the lovely, multi-colored landscape (yellow, white & reddish rocks). The guide always tells people to put their hand over a nearby fumarole so you feel just how hot the vapors can be. There's also a museum at the bottom of the cable car area which takes a creative spin on the creation of Mount Teide. You can even buy the comic book "Teide Legend"!

A beautiful landscape with all kinds of mountains and volcanos, and of course Teide. The cable ride (7 minutes each way) was fantastic. The surface of different areas looks like mars. It's quite amazing in person. Also, driving through the black lava is very cool. Lots of twisty narrow roads so I suggest you leave the driving to someone else.

Definitely worth a visit when in Tenerife. It's not everyday you can be so close to a volcano. However if you visit both Tenerife and La Palma islands I would recommend the volcano at La Palma where you can actually see into the crater. In Teide you need a permission to go so high up. The volcano at Teide in Tenerife is reachable by car/bus and then by taking the cable car (teleferico) which costs 26 euro per person. It is quite high so it can be a bit scary for the ones that don't like heights like me. But it is doable especially if you don't choose to be in the outer part of the car where you can see everything. When you get out of the cable car there are several options. There are three routes to hike and several stops for pictures. There are many signs which explain everything too. The routes are not too long, however they might be closed due to bad weather/snow/ice so if you want to hike you should call before going there. When I was there one out of three was open. But it was enough as the high altitude made me a bit weak and I couldn't anyway take a too long hike. In my opinion it is worth it for the views. You don't really see the volcano, but you are very close to it and you can see the nature. It's a breathtaking view especially because you are above clouds. One last point is that the wait for the cable car is long. For us it was around an hour, maybe it is the best to go early in the morning before everyone arrives there.

At over 12,000 feet, this volcano, Teide, is the highest point in Spain. You can take a cable car (last one up at 4 pm) up to the top and the views from the top are beautiful. The last car down is at 5 pm, though there are guides up at the top to warn you when to get back. Otherwise, you can hike up or down, though you'll need a full day. It's 25 Euros, but well worth it. You can book online if you want to avoid the ticket lines.

There isn't much to see up here, but we don't know about the summit, since you need a special permit to hike up there. Most of the land looks flat, but the safari ride up here with all the overturned volcanic flows looked pretty jagged and wild.

It's fantastic for hiking and site seeing. There is a BBQ area and camping too and if you like star gazing it's one of the best places for this!
