On the Grid : Parts & Labor

"Named after the building's original function as a car repair and tire shop, Parts & Labor is a Spike Gjerde restaurant and butcher shop that features an on-site whole animal butchery and serves nothing but locally-sourced food. Even the 10-foot hearth, a centerpiece of the decor, is built with local soapstone and cobblestones. A frequently changing menu and happening scene add to the restaurant's popularity. The open floor plan, industrial decor, and communal tables make P & L a highly-sociable place for all types, including vegetarians." - Ashton Design

Parts and Labor at Motorco - Review - Old North Durham - Durham - The Infatuation

"Spending a few hours drinking at a picnic table under string lights at Parts and Labor is practically a Durham rite of passage. This indoor/outdoor space is more bar than restaurant, but it’s definitely worth coming hungry. Cheeseburger sliders and beer battered cheese curds cover the bar food bases, but the menu is also filled with interesting (and often vegetarian-friendly) things like eggplant chapati and beef bulgogi tacos. And if you want to keep the night going, head right across the street to Fullsteam Brewery, where you’ll find one of the most extensive beer selections in Durham." - Christine Byrne

This is a neat spot and was ideal for a quick drink as we hopped around the area. It looks like a former auto shop with big bay doors that can be opened on nice days. They have a projector that plays movies and TV shows and that was cool. The drinks weren't anything fantastic, but I would pop in again.

So the atmosphere is awesome, the service is great, it's really clean and the staff is super nice. We only went to the bar and ate, but there's a live music spot attached also but they were having some kind of event and we didn't really have time to inquire. However, the portions. The food is really good, but everything is 'ala carte' so 4 dollars for a slider, 8 if you want two. Then another 4-8 bucks if you want a side and your drink is also another 4ish dollars. The portions just weren't great. BUT, it's a nice change that going to a place with bar food and all the options are healthy, has a ton of vegan friendly options which is also not something you see a lot of places. Like I wouldn't recommend going if your super hungry or you're willing to order a bunch of sides but it's definitely a cute spot

We always have the best time here !! A great hanging out chill place with great menu, full bar, indoor and outdoor seating so cool and that ‘late night’ vibe !! Perfect place to just ‘be’ ♥️

Google
Food was solid. Cool tapas style sharing options with Asian fusion flare. Cocktails were great too! Loved the scallion pancake and the wings! The noodles had great flavor too! The eggplant wasn’t too spongy and was very well seasoned. My dad loved the fried peppers. Will definitely go back!

My go to spot for lunch or to unwind with friends after work. Daniela makes the best Aperol Spritz in town, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming, vibrant, and diverse. If you are visiting Durham, add Parts and Labor to your list. Highly recommend!

I’m a tourist going through Carolina and I just want to say Daniella has been so nice and so sweet! Very attentive and makes really great conversations AND drinks. I would 10/10 come back ! She is the best I’ve met.

Pre-show noms. I got the Churrasco slider! Beef tenderloin with chimichurri sauce on a brioche bun. I also have a Mango Cart!

Google
The good: atmosphere, staff, drinks convenience, price, range of healthy options Bad: rice was pretty undercooked, food was mid, and the wait was 15-20 minutes longer than we were told. Thoughts: this is more a place to get a drink and hang out before a concert next door than it is a place to eat. Dont try to eat here before a show as you will not have enough time whether you come early before the opener or come during the opener.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. Grabbed a little of everything. I really enjoyed the fried cheese curds and the small burgers

Yelp

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night and easily got a table! Service was quick and the bartenders were polite. I ordered a beer and a masala bowl. The bowl was $10 and had fried tofu and vegetables over a bed of rice. Pretty basic but very good! I'd come back and try other things on their menu.

Yelp
Stopped in at Parts & Labor during a day out in Durham for a quick drink. They had a nice little outdoor seating area with a funky, bright mural and it was a good place to sit and hang for a bit. I ordered one of their Micheladas and I wanted to love it, but I wasn't impressed sadly. I loved that the mix appeared to be house made, but it was really thick and I think they just added too much. The taste was great but the consistency was not thin enough for my liking. My friend said the Paloma was just okay. The staff were nice and the space is as well, but the drinks just missed the mark a bit for us. Overall this was a 3.5, but I'm rounding up.

Yelp
Hip little spot next to Motorco Music Hall. Plenty of Beers to choose from. Menu is fresh and exciting. We got non alcoholic options to drink. Orangeade and Tropical fruit soda (forget the actual name) the orangeade was spectacular! So refreshing and tasty. It was pretty busy but our food don't take very long to arrive. The Canuck Poutine had an awesome mushroom gravy and the cheese curds where nice and melty. The Moto-banh was yummy. the fresh jalapeño added a huge kick in spice so be warned it's Spicy! The sesame udon salad was fresh and crisp and delicious. Definitely wanna make our way down the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night. Really nice outdoor seating! Was able to find street parking around the corner. Beer was good and so was the food. Tried a couple different things. Was very full afterward. I tried the tuna sandwich, chicken empanada, and chicken sandwich. I liked all of them! The tuna piece was very large! All three things were ~$20 which I thought was fair. The many little plates allows for the ability to try lots of things. Wish it had a little more flavor but overall very good and good vibes.

Yelp
This is a nice indoor/outdoor brewery with a wide selection of beers and ciders on tap and in cans. The location is great because it's in downtown Durham and near Boxcar so you can easily walk around to other places. The drinks were the standout, I highly recommend the Golden Road beer. It was refreshing and Mango flavored. As far as the food, it was decent but nothing that stood out. But there were a lot of options which is good. I got the wings which were fine and I shared the "hipster poutine." It's with bulgogi and kimchi, so I'm not really sure what makes Korean elements "hipster". It was a good size and pretty filling while the other food options seem to be more single serving. If you're looking for a place to chill and get some beers outside in Durham, this is definitely a good option.

Yelp
It's been a while since we ate there but everything was delicious. Nothing is good for you but that's not why you're there is it? I definitely recommend eating there. Just don't expect healthy vegan. I actually thought it was healthy vegan when I selected it for dinner. It was definitely yummy enough that I didn't care.

Yelp
One of my faves in Durham! Love the vibe and the masala poutine is phenomenal. I order it every time without fail.

Yelp
I cannot believe the food selection here. it is amazing and it all tastes great. come here every time I'm in NC

Yelp
We had a cocktails and Moto Bahn and the chicken schwarma. They were both amazing. I couldn't believe the fresh ingredients--the breads were also delicious!! The only bummer was no parking. Paid lot down the street.

Yelp
Parts&Labor is a nice spot in downtown Durham it's too and grab a drink and snack and watch people pass by or listen to the band playing next door. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. The food comes to the table quickly and the staff are very friendly. The menu is diverse and has unique items to Durham.

Yelp
Excellent spot for tapas / small plate food. Friendly vibe!! We ended up trying a few things on their menu. Best was edamame salad - super refreshing and delicious. We asked them to add some jalapeños and it was giving a good kick. Wings were just okay - nothing too special. I loved their cheese curds - pretty tasty. If you like fried food and aren't shy of calories, give it a try. Fries were just okay. Potato latkes were quite bland by itself. This is my first time trying it, so wasn't sure what am I expected to taste. But I won't order it again. Definitely a nice hangout place - take your friends there and have a good time. With their setup we are there maybe live music nights - hopefully someday we'll find our way back to attend one of those.

Yelp
Love the food here!!!! You cannot go wrong with the poutine here! Had the hipster poutine and it was excellent! Had a margarita too but it tasted funny, she put pineapple in it and it did not taste good. I do not remember asking for a pineapple margarita. It was very tarty.

Yelp
Motorco and Parts&Labor has been a Geer St. destination for many years. I really enjoyed the burger slider and the ghost pepper wings (try at your own peril!). The wings at P&L are very plump and juicy. I actually wasn't as big of a fan of the motor oil sauce wings as it was a tad too sweet for me but the other flavors were great. Fantastic spot for outdoor day drinking. Projector inside is nice for watching a game. Dog friendly.

Yelp
I'm new in town and was really excited to try this place for the variety of food. I came in 2/23/24 around 4pm with my boyfriend and we weren't greeted by the two employees at the bar. We grabbed menus and sat down at a table near the bar. There was only 2 other tables there, a man, and a group. We went 10-15 minutes with no acknowledgement or service at all, not even waters, or a "Hey, I'll be right with you." One of the employees was running around and the other was at the bar the entire 10 minutes. We decided to just leave and only upon leaving did we receive any acknowledgment. We left disappointed , I've never waited that long for any service BEFORE the food.

Yelp
Fantastic set up in the time of COVID! They have one point of entry where they enforce rules such as wearing masks while not seated and explain how to order food safely. Once you sit down at a table, you place your order online. The tables have a "server" side where the servers place your food about 6 feet from where you're sitting, and you sit on the other side of the long table. The food is the same quality as before, and I actually think this current online system is much nicer than the prior system because you can just order from the convenience of your table on your phone, rather than going up and waiting in an ill-defined bar line!

Yelp
Parts and labor is a go to for late night eats and drinks. My favorite thing in the menu is the chicken shawarma. The tzatziki sauce taste super fresh and cucumber add an additional layer. Putine fries and wings are also really good. They also have a wide variety of drinks.
google avatar

Shayal V.

Yelp
Sure it's a little pricier than standard bar food but it's also fantastic. The Canuck poutine was salty and savory, went perfectly with our cocktails. The vegan sliders were portobello mushrooms--the mushroom was great but the slider itself was pretty plain. The udon salad was absolutely delicious and surprisingly refreshing.

Yelp
Is it more than you'd regularly pay for bar food? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. I adore this spot. It's on a block that's rapidly being taken over by dystopian-looking apartment buildings, but it holds its own as a little cultural hub. Any night, you'll find a diverse crowd based on who's playing in y h e adjacent music hall. And let's face it -- the food is good. It's definitely elevated bar food, with your neo-classic truffle fries and cheese curds alongside signature creations like brussels slaw and tuna sliders. You're best off coming with a group and trying a little of everything. Their beer, wine, and cocktail selection is also lovely albeit pretty standard. Bartenders are knowledgeable and will help you find what you want. There are plenty of great seating options both inside and outside. Thanks Motorco/Parts and Labor for being a go-to, classic Durham spot!
google avatar

Jerry R.

Yelp
Parts&Labor gets full marks for its vibe and for the friendliness of the staff. Pretty much all the seating is outdoors, which is nice, and even though it's all picnic tables there's a *lot* of space so they're not going to run out of places to eat anytime soon. The menu is creative and has plenty of fun vegan options, which is what drew us in. There are quite a few draft beers, but as is usual these days half of them are IPAs and other chinbeard offerings; if you want something actually drinkable you've got two choices. The biggest con for me was the portion sizes. The prices look good at first, but when your $5 taco can be consumed in two bites it's not very satisfying. Same thing for the buffalo cauliflower: it's only $4, but there were only four pieces. We dropped $50 there and left hungry.

Yelp
So many plant-based options! GREAT PRICES! Not in photo: Vegan tacos, Falafel on pita. Also GREAT. Will visit again!

Yelp
Arguably THE place to be if you're hanging out downtown Durham. Attached to Motorco is Parts & Labor and their popular patio! This is a must-visit if you're in Durham looking for a great spot for socializing, imbibing, and enjoying the beautiful NC weather. Covid or not, the food and drink at Parts & Labor is delicious. They have a solid rotating beer selection on draft or by can, with a large majority local from NC breweries. They also have craft cocktails and bloody Mary's! The global-inspired food menu is sure to satisfy anyone's preferences, even the picky ones. To give you a taste, I'm talking about bratwurst, falafel, bulgogi tacos, chicken shawarma, latkes, chicken wings, burgers and fries! Even given the variety, which usually causes me much skepticism, quality and flavor is not compromised. On a busy day, you may have a little difficulty finding a parking spot. Most nearby parking is monitored but the good news is you can pay and keep tabs easily via the Passport app. Worst case you have to walk a block or two, but the silver lining is the unplanned exploring of neighboring businesses. This area of Durham is super walkable to other restaurants, breweries, even a bar arcade! I would especially like to applaud Parts & Labor for their streamlined execution of Covid precautions. In fact, I think they do it better than anyone else. I felt 100% safe ordering and dining on the outdoor patio this past weekend. Note - there are no heaters so dress appropriately if it's chilly! For any locals/frequents of P&L, note that the patio is no longer a free and open space. You need to check in with the host (all the way down by Motorco) to secure a table and show your ID since all orders are handled completely contactless via the website on your mobile device. They've even designated a food delivery zone at the table to ensure social distancing is enforced at all times. Thank you P&L for making my recent visit safe and enjoyable!! Can't wait to come back soon.

Yelp
Cool place in a neat area for some amazing food and good company. We love that the place can be opened up with garage doors! We tried the schnitzel and we were wowed! It had a slight spice to it due to the jalapeños, but we absolutely loved it! We will be back.

Yelp
I was fairly optimistic choosing this place to be the last thing I ate for today, however, I was let down like one does putting a baby in a crib. The Masala Poutine and Bulgogi Taco caught my eye when I was reviewing their menu, and I knew I had to eat here. Unfortunately and frankly, their "Masala sauce" tasted more like pizza mariana. On the other hand, their Bulgogi Taco was quite delicious, I loved the kimchi addition. The setting of the restaurant was interesting and a vibe, but there were way too many flies. I had to give this establishment a 3-star rating because I believe it is overly priced for one taco and fraudulent Masala sauce poutine. The staff was nice though...

Yelp
Good food, quick service, and good drink options. Lots of veggie options and the tuna burger is great

Yelp
So it's a hot day and I am irritated. Keep that in mind. Maybe I should've waited for a cooler moment to write. Nah. The wings hurt my jaw by the time I was the fourth one. That made me sad. The fries were alright, just not crispy. Granted we did walk two blocks before eating. The dips that came with the pretzels just didn't click for us because the pretzel didn't feel right between our teeth's either. We watched fireworks after stopping eating :'(. I'm sure it was an off-day or something situational. It seemed like people really liked the place. So I'd try again.

Yelp
Loved the vegan vegetarian menu. Service was prompt. Inside had a hipster feel to it. Loved it.

Yelp
Talk about diligence when it comes to safety precautions for COVID-19! Parts&Labor goes above and beyond. They are also one of the few businesses offering food and drink past 8pm in the area on a Tuesday evening. For these reasons alone, I'm a fan of Parts&Labor, but add in the fact that they are also vegan-conscious and I'm possibly a super fan. We were in town on a recent Tuesday evening and were swayed by the spacious outdoor patio seating. A masked hostess was super friendly and gave us the spiel about dining there (you order on your phone. It's pretty damn efficient and cuts down on the uncomfortable moments of waving down a busy server). We were promptly seated (after she thoroughly cleaned and disinfected seats and table) and ordered up some drinks and food. As far as wine goes, there's not much more than a Prosecco and a Pinot Noir, but they are much more beer-focused, so I get it. I couldn't resist a blood orange cider instead. The drinks came out immediately, food took much much longer, but I'm going to chalk that off to things being different in just about every restaurant these days. As I mentioned, vegan options are more than fair and I ordered the sesame udon salad (wish there were more vegetables in it as it's mainly peppers, cilantro and tiny shreds of snow peas) and a side of fries. The tofu on the salad was crispy and tasty. I'll be honest. I wasn't too into my food, but I won't judge them on something that wasn't quite to my taste. I'd gladly return and order something more interesting (vegan samosas or tacos!) next time. We enjoyed our time spent out on the patio and appreciate the efforts of the staff. I can't stress enough how comforting it is to eat and drink at an establishment that values safety measures during these difficult times.

Yelp
Motorco is a music venue. Parts & Labor is an attached restaurant/bar. Go for the drinks, or if you want a social place to hang out with a cool (mostly outside) ambiance- I'm a sucked for Christmas lights under the stars. I'm not a huge fan of communal picnic table seating, so this wasn't really my jam. but it seemed super busy and popular with people from the running group that gathers at Fullsteam every Wednesday. As far as food, the menu was interesting but didn't really work for me as far as execution. One of my dining companions got a salad with brussels, cabbage, apple, jalapenos and dried cherries, and she said the apple was like warm apple pie filling. So weird. I got a kimchi quesadilla, which was great. I also got the hummus and tabbouleh plate, which was not very good (skimpy on the veggies, tabbouleh had an unfavorable grain ratio, hummus was meh). Would not bother with the food again.

Yelp
I have always loved this spot - the outdoor seating is as close to a European square as you can get in the US. Pre-Covid I would have given it a solid 4 stars. But my wife and I were out on a Covid night and wanted to eat out somewhere we thought we wouldn't catch the virus, and I gotta say I think these guys do it better than anywhere I've seen. Here's their routine: * Strick mask policy when not sitting at your table * Tables are very well spaced out * Staff has a drill-powered cleaning device * All ordering and paying is done on your phone, they just bring it out to you Good beers on draft too. We ordered wings, and brussels sprouts, food was all about 4*.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant in the heart of Durham that makes for a great place to hangout with friends. The menu items are very unique and so delicious. It took a bit for the food to come out but it did not disappoint. Their beverage menu has a great selection as well. Super fun outdoor setting.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place because I love Asian fusion and have heard of Motorco but had never visited. The venue is quite large and nice, with lots of outdoor seating. I got the Hipster Poutine, the Vegan and Bulgogi Tacos, and the Potato Latkes. I enjoyed the poutine and the latkes. The poutine was actually quite filling - I would recommend sharing this. The tacos were pretty disappointing. There just wasn't that much to it besides the meat/eggplant, and the tortillas weren't very soft. Overall, I would come back here - I didn't drink when I went last time, but I think the food would go great with a beer since it is mostly bar food afterall.
google avatar

Jennie B.

Yelp
A little pricier than what I would pay for in terms of taste and quality. Sesame udon salad + samosa + soda ($10) portion was good for a lunch meal; the udon salad was larger and more filling than I expected. It was pretty good and light; I wish it had more greens. I was a little disappointed that it was only one small samosa, but it was my favorite. Bulgogi taco ($5) very disappointment. It was kimchi on a dense dry piece of steak that should've been cut once or twice more. Definitely was not bulgogi. Cool space, friendly service.

Yelp
3.5 stars I went to Parts&Labor on a late afternoon and had IPA, cider, and a poutine to share. PROS: the open space. I am a sucker for the picnic table + string lights combo, which just warms up the space tremendously. Parts&Labor also took probably the best COVID precautions I've seen from a place -- they keep half the picnic table empty for waiters to be able to maintain a social distance when delivering food/drinks, and they also have this electrostatic sprayer to disinfect each picnic table. Service was also friendly. CONS: The drinks we had were alright, not super memorable especially considering we had also been to Bull City Ciderworks. I also think the food was overpriced for the area. We eventually settled on a $8-9 basic poutine which was fine (if a little salty) but given the cheaper food prices elsewhere we didn't stay for a meal. Overall it's a solid place and I'm sure it will continue to do well especially given the nice outdoor space they have, but it was one of the less memorable places we went to during our trip to Durham.

Yelp
This is a cool looking place with an awesome vibe. I really wanted to like it but I couldn't find enough reasons to. I needed to grab a bite to eat and thought that I would give it a shot. The menu reminded me of a food truck menu. It had unique names and seemed like a fusion of cultures. I decided to get one of the special order of fries along with chicken wings. When the food arrived, it looked delicious but the flavors were so off. The chicken wings and motor oil sauce tasted like wings from the Whole Foods food bar. It was overly-fried to the point where it was dry. They were also jumbo wings which are too big for my likings. The fries were cold with no crunch. It was topped with a gravy and melted cheese. Hoo-rah? The drink menu was interesting. There weren't many options to choose from on the draft. There were a variety of can beers. Overall, it was a neat atmosphere but it didn't deliver. I am unsure about coming back but a good option to take friends from out of town for a drink but not food.

Yelp
Great small plates, outdoor eating with sun shade. Love this place. Vegan vegetarian and gluten free options

Yelp
Revisited and enjoyed the food and the ambiance! Definitely a much more positive experience than I had before. Service can be a bit long at the bar (usually only one bartender working), but overall a great place to visit.

Yelp
This garage spot is serving food to the pads at the Motorco parking lot concerts. They quickly and safely brought our beverages and food to our pad. I had a delicious Greek style chicken pita with perfectly done French fries. This hit the spot! They also have outdoor picnic tables where you can eat when there isn't a show!

Yelp
This spot is never bad. Was here in June and thrilled to be able to enjoy this spot again on a beautiful day. They've clearly got the process figured out - and you could order inside masked, or outside without one. Service here has always been good. Have to admit my amusement at some of these other posts. What bar allows you to bring alcohol in? That's truly insane that people are 1-star rating it for getting called out for that. At any rate, they have a top notch draft selection - always a great cider option! And they also have an outstanding little food menu. Sliders, fries, tacos, poutine, it's all amazing. One of my favorite spots in Durham for 6+ years now.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally! I can mark one off my list of places-to-eat-in-Durham! Yay! And boy was it gooooood. I love that they have a large outdoor eating area, where you can sit in the sun or in the shade. The inside dining area was eclectic and looked comfortable as well. Their menu is one page but it is packed with a variety of very good choices. I ordered the crispy tofu bahn and it was so damn good, I want to go get another one today. The bread was toasted perfectly, and the ingredients were so fresh and bountiful. So delicious! Their fries are just my style: cut thin with just a bit of skin left on the ends, fried to a crispy golden brown, with herbs and spices sprinkled throughout. Heavenly. Unfortunately, I went for lunch on a work day so I couldn't partake in the beer drinking, but man did the beers look cold and refreshing. Next time.

Yelp
When planning to visit North Carolina for the first time ever, I figured I wasn't going to be able to eat out a much... being plant based and in the South... but I quickly found out I was wrong. Parts & Labor was my first stop for noms in Durham because of the many vegan options, and man, am I glad I did! Parts & Labor is in such an adorable part of town. There is a huge college-town feel in this area, and as I drove up, there was a large group of marathoners outside the brewery across the street. There seems to be no private parking lot - all pay here. P&L was hopping on a Wednesday night. It seems like a really awesome hang out spot, and I observed people of all ages. I was starving when I got in, and thankfully I had previously looked over the menu. I knew I was going to get the Tofu Banh Mi and Fries. I also ordered the cider they had on tap: a sweeter Rose. It is more on the pricer end, at least when it comes to the Banh Mi. My bill was $18 for the three items. I ordered at the bar (the bartender was less than thrilled to be there - was more interested in the TV than customers), and had enough time to sit down and get my computer out.. and BAM!! My food was out. Like so fast. Like too fast. Zero complaints on my end, because I was ravenous. But for the next hour I ate my food and got work done, and enjoyed the people watching. It was getting darker outside, and the patio with the lights was beautiful. The fries were amazing. The banh mi was delicious, and the cider was the perfect door to my cider tastings throughout my trip in North Carolina. Parts & Labor will definitely be a place I stop in again if I make my way back to Durham. So cute. So tasty. So nice that they are redefinining what I thought about vegan food in the south!

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. This place is awesome! It's my go-to if I'm in the neighborhood. The serving sizes can vary, depending on what you order. I think that's the advantage of being a local and having tried everything on the menu at one point or another. Here are my recommendations: Chicken Shwarama - I have been known to order this multiple times in one week. Don't judge. Cheeseburger Sliders - Incredible. I'm only sad that it's not a full-size burger. I usually order a second item, because these aren't enough on their own. But sooooo worth it. I savor every bite. Sesame Udon Salad - Best bang for your buck. Very filling - no need to order supplementary items. Healthy-ish. Green Salad - None of that weaksauce iceberg lettuce. This is a properly healthy salad, and the dressing is DELICIOUS! It is a nice counterbalance to the heavier items on the menu. Mushroom Poutine - My friend ordered this, and I ate it all, and I had to buy him a new one. Not healthy, but I don't care.

Yelp
Great place to try lots of small plates. Staff was friendly and food was excellent. Great service. Would definitely return.

Yelp
Great spot for some quick eats if you don't feel like making dinner and open late too so great for after a show. Hipster poutine in the JAM, tuna sliders are great too. Love the fusion of kimchi with many different dishes that are made better as a result. Grab a bear and some grub before your next motorco show if you are uninitiated!

Yelp
I arrived last Sunday evening to see a comedy show by my friends. I prefer vegan food whenever possible and 2 of the 3 comedians dining with us were vegan. I was all set to recommend 2 vegan/vegetarian spots nearby but both closed early on Sunday. Parts & Labor it was. I'm glad it was. They had some fantastic beer on tap and so many vegan options. We ordered the Banh Mi, Samosas, Falafel, Udon salad and a few other things to share for the 4 of us. Hot, fresh, spicy, delicious and filling! I will definitely be back. The comedy was hilarious and well worth the hour drive each way! NB Edit: I am remiss in leaving out the Masala Tofu Taco - kicked butt!

Yelp
Given all the raving reviews, the food actually fell short of my expectations. The tuna slider was good but I wouldn't come back just for it. The brussel sprout salad was raw and not roasted, which I expected it to be. The poutine was also underwhelming and kind of bland. I would say the only redeeming factor is the ambiance - lots of outdoor seating (dog friendly too) and perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors. Order/pay at the bar first and they give you a number and bring out your food.

Yelp
Very cool place in Durham with live music. I stopped in on a Wednesday evening for dinner. FYI the portions are very small. I did really enjoy my tuna slider. Because I was still hungry I split the Masala Poutine with my boyfriend. It was not very good. They called it poutine but it was just French fries with melted cheese and masala sauce on top. Besides that, I liked everything else about the place. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We four just ate there. The place was VERY busy, but I can not understand why. Service....there is no service! You have to order from your phone. There are NO menus! I'm sick and tired of Covid This and Covid That! I'll gladly pay 15 cents for a simple paper menu I can throw away! When our food was delivered, it was merely dropped at the end of our long table...and for that wonderful service, you MUST pay a minimum of 18%! Now, you could pay 20%, or even 22% for this "amazing, outstanding" service. You must pay by card and there's no way to complete your order without the mandatory gratuity. And the food was only mediocre at best. My wife and I shared a sandwich & fries, so $85 for 3 lunches...BIG RIPOFF! P.S. The night before, 3 of us ate at Kickback Jacks. 2 steak & shrimp dinners, a nice salad with blue cheese, 7 alcohol drinks, and dessert for $95. A MUCH better venue, food and value for your dollar...oh, you get waited on by a real waitress who takes your order and clarifies any questions and have a real menu to hold, too!
