The Miami Pastelito Power Rankings

"If we gave Celia Cruz (R.I.P., Queen) Party Cake’s pastelito, she’d be yelling “¡Azucar!” so loud they’d hear it in Tampa. First, it’s glazed with a very sweet syrup on both the top and bottom of the pastelito. So the first thing you taste is—yes, azucar. But the puff pastry is incredibly crunchy too. You can puncture the top with your finger, leaving a hole that goes several layers deep. It’s a simple, minimalist pastelito with just enough guava and cheese, the perfect breakfast companion to a colada because la vida es un carnival." - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

The Best Croquetas In Miami, Ranked

"Price Per Croqueta: $1.40 This is a very crunchy croqueta with so much panko breading, some of it flakes off when you pick it up. Snap one open and you can actually see big chunks of jamon inside. It’s a delicious masa—our only nitpicky complaint is that it can separate from the thick breading, and we don’t like seeing any gaps between the masa and shell. Regardless, it has no effect on its amazing taste. And while you’re here, make sure to pick up a pastelito—they’re some of the best in the city." - virginia otazo

This marks my third visit, and each time has been a highly enjoyable experience. I consistently try new dishes, and every one I've sampled has been exceptional. I look forward to returning in the future. The food quality remains outstanding from start to finish. My new favorite breakfast and lunch spot. Highly recommend it?

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Party Cake Bakery in Miami is such a fun and lively spot! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it a great place to stop by and soak in the energy of the city. The colorful decor and cheerful vibe instantly put a smile on your face. Even without trying the food, it’s clear this place is a local favorite. Can’t wait to visit again and experience more of what they have to offer!

Google
Driving by the area I saw a big sign NOW OPEN. The bakery has been remodeled so everything is nice and clean. Services was friendly and fast everything came out in the way we ordered fresh and tasty.

Google
I bought 2 beef empanadas and i was disappointed. I use to love their empanadas but these I had to throw them out. It was packed with meat but I can see why. It seems like the meat is grinded to the point that It feels pasty, pretty gross. So I won't be having those anymore. Beef pastelitos is not ground beef it's ham. My omelet sandwiches were good and the steak sandwich was also good.

Google
Great friendly staff, great yummy food and great prices. I ordered 4 pastelitos trays, 2 croqueta trays and 2 bocaditos tray with a cake for 50 people for a baby shower and feel like it was a great price. I also ordered breakfast while I was there. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them and will be ordering from them for regular occasions and events.

Google
The best party cake in Kendall!!! The service, atmosphere, area, is all so wonder, and the food is super fresh.

Google
Customer service is excellent breakfast always fresh everything in the bakery always fresh practically taken out of the oven

Google
The check out process is painfully slow. There are insufficient employees to expedite the orders. Manager/cashier is often distracted and unable to effectively process payments resulting in long wait times. Check out process needs improvement.

Yelp
This was our last stop of the day while visiting Miami, and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and quick to get your order. I was amazed at the low cost for everything. We got ourselves a few pastries and cuban coffees, which were delicious. Would go back again.

Yelp
I love this bakery and enjoy a wonderful breakfast here on a regular basis. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent! However, considering this is a "family oriented bakery" more consideration should be extended to the wonderful group of faithful employees. The owners should never forget their own working experiences during those days working at Publix. Opening the bakery and expecting staff to show up on New Year's day is unfair and goes against all family values! These people have families also and deserve at least the first day of the year off! It's called courtesy and demonstrates gratitude for the work they do!

Jan P.

Yelp
Pastelitos and empanadas were old and tasted poorly. They give you old stuff first, so beware! The regualr breakfast was okay as were the cafe con leches. Much better places to get pastelitos near by.

Yelp
Great Cuban Cake, fresh, soft, and delicious! I ordered a 25 person, $25, Cuban cake for my dad's birthday. We all loved it. The only problem was that when I called to order it a day before, I assumed it would be made to order. When I arrived, the lady just picked a random cake from the fridge. The past times this has happened, the cake has not been fresh and consequently not taste very good. I explained myself and the lady was able to find a cake that was pretty fresh, as it had come in just the day before, and given me that one. It seems that most Party Cake branded stores have moved to a distribution model where they just sell cakes made by their hub bakery. Be aware! Otherwise, the bakery looked quite nice inside and was fairly modern.

Elina S.

Yelp
a Bakery that has very little variety of bread. no Patin, none of the round Cuban bread. so many bakers and such a little variet. hoped more of you guys!

Yelp
I was visiting some friends out of town and they suggested I pass by Party Cake to pick up some goodies. I picked up a tray of croquettes, bocaditos, pastelitos de carne and pastelitos de guava. All the food tasted great and I'm told the Cuban Bread is the bear in the area. When I placed the order on the phone the person who answered was very polite and efficient. All the food was ready for us and the prices were very affordable. Next time we're in the area we'll eat in since they have a large space for eating. So glad we found this gem in Kendall.

Yelp
I love everything about this bakery. Superb service! I'm treated as if I am family and served with a smile. The cleanliness, very clean and organized. The food is always fresh and the staff even customizes the food to your liking. Satisfaction is their goal. A couple of my favorites "preparaito, pastel de pizza, pan con huevo, Cuban bread, Cuban crackers, bocadito de lascas and café con leche" This is my "Cheers"! Definitely recommend Party Cake Bakery.

Yelp
* Cuban Bread * Coffee Con * Guava Pastelitos * Guava & Cheese * Croquette Sandwich * Fresh Orange Juice This is a solid option for Cuban pastry. The Cuban bread is hands down my favorite. Everything is really addicting and not overly greasy. Amazing customer service, despite the staff not being fluent in English and the little Spanish I know is to only order food...lol A girl's gotta eat, we made it work. On my way out, I met a gentleman I later found out was the owner's nephew. He was so friendly and just full of life, I walked out with a huge grin.

Yelp
Great food and service! The pastelitos, the croquettas, everything was so good!!! Would definitely come back again and again!

Yelp
Confused! We arrived at Miller East location around 2:30 for a cortadito and a pastelito for an afternoon pick me up. It completely surprised us when we noticed the baked goods display was EMPTY!! Not a good sign... is this Cuba? If your establishment is low in staff ( sign of the times) , at least have consideration to the customers and keep limited hours of operation , and close if you have nothing to offer. We're regular customers, but not for long... especially since one of the two employees there , was pretty rude. Party Cake is NOT the only bakery in Kendall. Good luck

Yelp
I've been coming to this bakery for some time now, but I'm so happy that they moved to the corner of the same shopping center. The location is so much bigger, the décor is more modern and focused on the family's history and looks a lot cleaner. The staff is very sweet, attentive, and helpful at all times especially Barbarita. At my job we've even catered a few times for Thanksgiving - their turkey is juicy and tender. The prices are up to par not expensive. My go to items are the café con leche (café latte) and pastelito preparado. Yums! The pastelito preparados are a BIG HIT at my job every time I bring it to the office. I will continue to support this local bakery for their yummy treats and pleasant customer service.

Yelp
This was my first time at a Party Cake Bakery. It is a Great place for breakfast or lunch. We met a friend there for late breakfast or early lunch. We stayed at the bakery from 1100 til 200. My friend and sister had eggs bacon, bread, coffee and orange juice. I had two empanadas, one of chicken and the other one of meat and orange juice. Everything was DELICIOUS! I will be back soon to try more of their foods. The ladies at the bakery were friendly and helpful. Sorry, but forgot to take photos.

Yelp
One of the favorites whenever I'm in town. My husband always take care of the orders and I would be either sitting at a table or inside a car, if we're going to the beach. We always get colada and some Cuban pastries along with croquetas de jamon, which is my favorite. Not sure where else can top this place. They make the best balanced colada and their croquetas are made to perfection.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
The only good thing about this bakery is the service. Though, they don't speak a lick of English- they are very friendly and will try to communicate via gestures. The place is also spacious with minimal decor. I decided to stop by and get a cake for a co-workers bday and sample their Tiramisu. I had high hopes for this place and it was straight up disappointing. The flavors are so bland and expresso wasn't even used in the tiramisu. Who does that?! I felt embarrassed at work because some complained that the quality was bad. I didn't even bother to try the Dulce de leche cake. Next time, I'll stick to my trustworthy Publix cakes and goods.

Yelp
Came by on a whim for a cake an lady so rude was open but wouldn't acknowledge us I'm not from here so fortunately for me this place is definitely off my list so if your in the area be aware

Yelp
These people close whenever they want so don't count on the Google hours being correct or updated. Wasted two trips here now thinking they would be open.

Yelp
After Snooki and I went for lunch at The Fish House we eyed this bakery in the same plaza and decided to pop in. Once I realized it was a Cuban bakery I declined to buy anything. Why? Because Cubans think "pastries = SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR and LARD". Everything I've ever tried from a Cuban bakery was literally a diabetes bomb that nearly sent me to the ER. With that being said the interior of this place is really attractive, it's modern and airy with sleek minimalist colors. You'd think a place like this would be located in Brickell or the Gables. Anyway, Snookie ordered a Euro looking cake slice and some other kind of cakey looking thing, I have no idea what you call it but it was in layers, and some Cuban coffee(this stuff should be illegal). She egged me on to try it so I hesitantly took a small piece from the cake slice. OMG, it wasn't an atomic bomb of sugar, it actually was light, moist and fruity. The other cakey looking cake was really tasty too, I was truly surprised, I had no idea Cubans could bake normal pastries like the rest of the world.

Yelp
Five star for their products; however they need to tide up and clean their floors. This does not have anything to do with the pandemic. Beautiful place, hate to see customer area neglected. Still one of their customers

Yelp
I am so disappointed with these pastelitos! I ordered and was waiting for my delicious pastelitos and they are terrible!!! They are burnt, hard, and simply taste old!! I hope this is not the new norm!
google avatar

Yelp
I have been coming to this bakery for years but don't visit that often since a little Further from where I work than other bakeries. One of the things I love About this place is the people who work here. They don't have much turn over in employees so they remember you when you come in. Even if it's been a while since your last visit. They always have a smile and you are attending to quickly as well. I hadn't visited in a while and they totally revamped the place. Looks very nice. Their pastelitos and Cuban bread and bocadito spread are great. It is rare to go to a Cuban bakery and not be annoyed at the wait or lack of service. I would give them a 5 for their service.

Arelys R.

Yelp
My family and I have never had a bad experience when placing an order or dinning in! The space is large and the staff is quick and attentive. Party Cale bakery makes the best pastelitos!! The guayaba and the cheese pastelitos are always filled with filling and never disappoint! The cakes are wonderful and taste so
google avatar

Nathasha A.

Yelp
Disclaimer: my sister is the one who loves this place. It's not the most wheelchair friendly place but that applies to the entire shopping center. It's mostly Cuban food bakery items If you love Cuban pastelitos then this is the place. No bathroom. So the best thing is to get your baked goods to go. The reason I can't give it more stars is because the pastelitos de carne don't look like they're filled with meat. It's pink in color. I've eaten these items in other areas and they are dark meat. Oh ho! We found out they are made out of sausage! So that solves the pink mystery but why don't they have ground beef? Hmmmm... I'm a sucker for their crackers! Definitely a place to grab something quick but I wouldn't go out of my way. Noise level is a bit loud but it's the norm for these type of places. You have to take into consideration the coffee maker noise. Let me know what you thought when you come here.

Yelp
We passed by this bakery on our way to UM and it was a good idea. The ladies working here were so nice to us, the cheese pastelito, was extremely good. The best Cuban cheese pastelito I have had, the white filling inside was made so fresh, not too sweet, and deliciously creamy. The pastry platter was perfect with a different flavor and ready to take as a gift. The coffee latte was a little too strong for my taste, but not too bad. Thank you, ladies! ¡Gracias damas!

Yelp
this is a beautiful location very large with lots of seating area to enjoy your breakfast. The employees working there are efficient and work together as a team. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The pastries are good as well as a Cuban bread. The prices are reasonable for most items. You can order ahead for parties because they sell out of the party trays often.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
Good Cuban bakery offering pastelitos, cakes, and fresh bread made daily. Located in a strip mall on Miller Drive with plenty of parking. I like to get their pastelitos de guava, carne, and guava and cheese. The Cuban bread is good and they also offer it roll size to make sandwiches. They also make breakfast and the pan con tortilla made with ham, onions, cheese, and papitas is fire. Also get a few croquetas de casa. The staff is friendly and bilingual and helpful in describing the menu items.
google avatar

Tee P.

Yelp
Nice bakery with tasty pastelitos and other items and sandwiches. On my first few visits they would always have out on top of the dessert counters covered trays ready-to-go of what they call "bandejitas". It was very quick and convenient to grab and go. For whatever reason, the last few times I have gone in the morning those Bandejitas of pastelitos and mini Croquetas have not been out! I was told it's best to order ahead. Unless it's for a party it's hard to predict when you would like to pick up a Bandejita. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Party Cake please have some Bandejitas available and ready to go in the mornings and especially on weekends. They are so convenient!

Maritza F.

Yelp
I go there all the time, love it, but, there is a lady her name is Blanca, she males the best Cafe con Leche, but not only that, she greets everyone always a smile, She is great. Great camgrejito de jamon y queso
google avatar

Joany M.

Yelp
I love this bakery. The place is small but very clean and has a great selection of delicious pastries. We usually go here for a quick breakfast. The food is prepared quickly and the service is great. The staff is very hospitable. I also use their catering; they have come through several times when I've needed them last minute. The only downside is the parking lot is pretty tight and packed with cars at all times.

Luis A.

Yelp
This is probably my first review in Yelp but I felt I needed to let the owners how I felt I have being a customer from the beginning back in the 90's when the wife was pregnant from the first boy this to me was the best bakery in the neighborhood for 20 years and then it started to expand and with the expansion came the disappointment they started to make mass production pastries and delivery them by trucks the quality has gone so down so much that I tried the one in Bird road today and it was awful I told the workers on Miller What was going on and they felt embarrassed I am very happy that the hard work of you and your wife have made them so successful but for Christ sake don't forget what got you here I hope things change in the near future because I will hate to see my favorite bakery gone
google avatar

Olivia M.

Yelp
My husband, who's Cuban, wanted a traditional Cuban cake for his birthday. I tried Party Cake Bakery and they did not disappoint! He said it was like going back to his childhood. They also have amazing pastries and desserts that will satisfy any craving. I definitely recommend this bakery if you're in the mood for something, sweet, delicious and traditional. Plus, the space is cool and set up for sitting around and shooting the breeze, another Cuban specialty
google avatar

Raizel H.

Yelp
IMO the best guava pastelitos made in Miami. My favorite location is on coral way and 107 avenue. Go in early in the morning and they are fresh, hot and the guava is just oozing our of them.

Madeline V.

Yelp
We have been going here for years because the pastries are really good. We moved away from the area 2 years ago and every time we visit family we place a to go order. Some of these orders are very large because we want to bring a taste of home to our neighbors that haven't tasted Cuban pastries before. The last 2 orders that we place ahead of time they do not give us what we ordered but less. The first time my husband caught it and it took 20 min to give him back $10. We were $30 short and instead of giving us money back they gave us a couple extra pastries. We figured ok it was a one time mistake, but NO. We placed a second order for Christmas to pick up Christmas Eve. My mom didn't check the order and we were short a whole tray of pastries and 5 individual pastries. We didn't go back because it was December 24th and we had places to be. Please be careful when placing orders here. They will stiff you if you're not careful. Never going again!

Danice A.

Yelp
My friend and I walked in and the cashier looked us right in our face and turned away. She still didn't say a word as we glanced over the cakes and remained on the far end of the counter. Because of this horrible service we walked out. Very rude customer service ! I only go places where I am welcomed.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been coming to this Party Cale Bakery location for years now! The ladies that work here are very professional, on point and always get my order right! They make my cortadito to my taste every time, no matter which one of these fabulous ladies takes care of me! Their food is always fresh and delicious! I recommend trying their house Crockett's, they are delicious!
google avatar

Jaquie M.

Yelp
Great attention and high quality coffee and pastries! Came in to get my favorite: Pastelito de guayaba y queso and a cortadito clarito. The staff is so warm and loves to serve. I had an excellent experience! Saturday 1-14-17 around 2pm.
google avatar

Audrey D.

Yelp
I have to say their flan, pudin de pan, and natilla were all delicious. The flan is even better than mine.
google avatar

Patricia O.

Yelp
They messed up my $35 dollar cake. No sorry, no other options offered. Just take their Shitty cake and be on your way. Only cater to Spanish speakers.
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Terrible experience. The food was done carelessly and completely incorrect. They even put mayo in a pan con bistec! They were also slow and disorganized. I am unsure how they have stayed in business for so long. Nilda, the Manager was pretty distracted and chatting with the employees, she even undercharged me! Moulin Rose is far superior.
google avatar

Millie P.

Yelp
I live in Orlando and whenever I'm in Miami I must stop here for breakfast & pastries.
google avatar

Jazzmin G.

Yelp
Walked in and walked right out. So rude ; the worker looked at me and didn't say hello. Hispanic people walked in right after me and she greeted them kindly smh.

Mayte S.

Yelp
I have been a customer there for quite a while and placing orders literally every week sometimes twice a week or more and until today the experience had always been amazing. But today was really upsetting and unbelievably disappointing.I placed an order nothing different from what usually order and once i get to pick up the order around 4 pm, the lady that supposedly only works on Thursdays according to her ,tells me that one of my transactions did not go through a while ago . So to my surprise since I literally go twice or more and I was just there with my husband this week Tuesday morning, I asked her what was the date on the transaction receipt so i can check in my bank account if it went through since she claimed ut did not go through.she does not have a date on the paper where they write whatever the customer ask for in handwriting .she said that she thought I knew and if i do not check my bank account regularly, which to me was a comment really unprofessional on her behalf.I told her than unless I do not have any particular reason or alert from my back account, I do not need to check if the transaction goes through or not which is her job to make sure ,she does get a receipt once she finishes a customer transaction and gives the client their order as well as the receipt before she starts with another client. She says also that she had the client after me on that day to see if they could see me to let me know on such a day but I had already left when is her job to come after me if something like that happens since it takes time to get to the parking lot and get in your car and i am regular customer. At this point ,I check my account and I tell her that there are basically a couple of transactions twice a a week this month like usual but she says she knows she can not recall the specifi date all she knows it has to be a Thursday that is when it happened to her and I can not remove that card unless I says approved that I must have removed before time.So I just tell her to go ahead and charge whatever amount the ticket has from that particular day that she has no clue what date could be since i was a cashier once and i know at the end of the day you need to balance your register and if there is a shortage or discrepancy, it can be deducted from the employee .So once she charges me today's transaction and the one that she did not charged that Thursday ,i give her cash so she can put some cash and then to charge the rest on the credit card and she tells me literally that if I have not enough money, she can take something off today's order but she can not do two transactions. So at this point ,I am so upset that she is not only incompetent doing her job and blaming the customer of her own mistake but also that she has not comon sense or she does not know how to chose her words wisely and assume that my bank account has insufficient funds and I have never seen that just because you pay some cash towards the balance, you can not charge the remaining balance to the credit card. .UNBELIEVABLE!!.It is really sad how all it takes is one employee way of communicating with the customer to jeopardize the good customer service others do in the same job. It is not about the fact that she did not do her job correctly and she blamed me on me the customer but the fact that her way of talking sounded to me nothing but unprofessional and rude What a shame ,she caused this place we like to go weekly or more this bad review.Really disappointing and how she insisted that I should have known or check my bank account when she should have made sure she finished her transaction with me and give me a receipt or let me know the card did not go through accordingly to her before she moved to the next customer on such a Thursday that can not even recollect the specif date except that it had to be a Thursday cause it happened while she was that day there Really unprofessional.

Yelp
Loved Party Cake! Amazing selection of pastelitos for the area! Clean, nice space. Grumpy abuelitas. Just right.
google avatar

Julio L.

Yelp
Beautiful place, food is great and service is also wonderful! I actually have a closer bakery to me but rather drive a bit further to come to this one.

Rick A.

Yelp
I came in the door I was not greeted I told the server that the food was cold she acknowledged did not answer me never gave me the total I the girl that serve me the coffee also had a bad attitude how to say thank you and finally she said you're welcome I've had been to all other locations and this is the worst
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
The Best. I mean the Best Pastelitos. Not too happy with the single serve pastries. But there cakes are also really good. Great Fresh Cuban bread all the time. The also have a small sitting area to eat in. The staff in this one is not as amiable as the other two locations.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Was in the area and had a sudden craving .... I had a pastelito de carne & a croqueta. The pastelito was flaky and little sweet on top, and had a perfect taste! Same with the croqueta!! Both were equally delicious!

Burt B.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST bakery in south Florida. Their pastries are always flaky and fresh. Party cake has several locations, no matter where you go they are consistent straight across the board. Do yourself a favor stop by and have a guava pastry and a Cuban coffee or if your in the mood for a sandwich, steak sandwich is the way to go. Friendly service, good food, always clean and Christian music overhead never disappoints.
google avatar

Cari V.

Yelp
ALL Cuban Bakery's should take their employee training from here! These Ladies are SO NICE! the service is awesome and everything is fresh! LOVE IT!
google avatar

Sid K.

Yelp
I agree with the earlier review about the speed of service. We did not like the pastry sheet used for the empanadas, have tasted better. It was great to find a clean and neat cuban bakery.
