"Passerella in Cypress combines seafood with waterfront views. Located next door to Cypress’ Union Kitchen, Passerella will incorporate cooking styles from throughout Italy, serving up pasta, pizzas, and wines from both Italy and the Napa Valley. The restaurant will be housed in a 3,280-square-foot waterfront space and will feature an indoor dining space that seats 100 people and a large patio overlooking the water with room for 60 diners. The menu is still a work in progress, with executive chef Edward Roberts working with Gr8 Plate Hospitality owner Paul Miller and executive chef James Lundy on the offerings for opening day." - Adele Chapin

Great place! We were greeted and offered a complimentary sparkling wine. The bread was delicious. I got the salmon and my husband the Alfredo pasta, both were delicious. They also gave us a free dessert because I was celebrating my birthday with a courtesy free appetizer for our next visit. All the staff is really attentive. We really enjoyed our dinner.

This is a fabulous hidden gem inside Towne Lake Boardwalk. My husband and I stumbled across Passerella unintentionally and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and wonderful staff. We ordered the Herb-Crusted Lamb and it was fantastic. So flavorful! You won’t be disappointed coming here.

Lee and Erin were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious the Lamb Lee recommended was awesome. Every course was good and the portions were very generous. Chef Dixon was fabulous he came and talked to us multiple times throughout our meal. Prices are very reasonable. I recommend this place to everyone!

I recently dined at Passerella, and it was an exceptional experience for me. We were a large party and tried so many items. All the dishes were great, each one bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful, providing a cozy and elegant setting that makes for a perfect dining atmosphere. The staff are incredibly nice, attentive, and professional, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. The menu is well-organized and easy to navigate. For special occasions, they offer a special menu that is truly a treat. What makes it even more unique is the chef himself attending to the tables, making sure that everything is perfect. This personal touch sets Passerella apart and makes the dining experience even more nicer.

Oh. Em. Gee… This place is a true gem with an incredible Happy Hour. Mike behind the bar truly cares about his craft, or as the kids say “he put his foot in it” - my espresso martini was expertly curated. The happy hour board is divine with so many options, and a wonderful specialty honey that keeps you going back for more until the whole board is depleted! The manager Paul was so helpful with my many questions about the food. Can’t wait to become a regular here

Took my husband here to celebrate his birthday with 6 of our friends. We had a reservation for 8 and when we walked in it wasn't super crowded so I thought maybe we would get good service. I found out about this restauraunt on Reddit. The Hostess at the front offered a complimentary glass of champagne which was unexpected and appreciated. After that we sat for about 15 minutes before our server, named Lee, came up to our table. Not everyone in our party was here yet. We went ahead and started ordering drinks and a charcuterie board. It took a while for us to even just get some water and had to ask a couple of times. The charcuterie board had some tasty cheeses as well as salami and I believe prosciutto and some grapes, I got the full size which was about $27. I'm honestly glad I ordered this because when I got my food later on, I was disappointed in the portion size of the food. Once we got our food our server would only come about every 20 minutes or so to check on us. I had the chicken picatta which tasted just okay. It was pretty plain with the lemon sauce and honestly I think should've came with some pasta on the side atleast. The portion was very small and I was still hungry after. I've had picatta at other places and it was a bigger size and had way more flavor. My husband got the "colossal shrimp" special which was a big prawn in the middle of a risotto with a cream sauce. My husband said it was very salty and disappointed that it came with just one "colossal" shrimp. Honestly for these prices versus portion sizes they should do a better job explaining things. He also had a Paradiso drink which was probably his only favorite part of the experience. Other friends had the Marsala and Lasagna which they also said was just okay and not impressed with. My friend thought the chicken was just the frozen chicken you find at the grocery store that comes in a little bag. We also had to ask for bread but the server brought one small loaf for a table of 8, that was kind of strange so we didn't bother asking for more. Towards the end (around 950 PM...) the server asked us if we wanted plates for the cake but at that point I think everyone just wanted to leave after the disappointing experience so we declined and asked for a check. The restaurant closes at 10 on a Friday night so we could sense it as they were cleaning up the restaurant which seemed like we were being rushed. I'm not sure if this place is just short staffed or what but you would think a table of 8 who spent over $300 in your establishment would be treated a little bit better. I still left a decent tip because I know how hard it is to work in the service industry and maybe the server was having an off night or the place is understaffed. I'm not one to complain in a restaurant and especially not during my husbands birthday but was pretty disappointed in the experience and won't be coming back. I'm glad that we atleast had our friends there but was hoping to have that special ambiance for my husbands birthday and unfortunately it doesn't seem like this is the kind of place for a celebration. I wish I had seen the other reviews. Management really needs to do better. I get better food and service at lower priced establishments.

Mike, the bartender is absolutely phenomenal. The drinks were so good some of the best I’ve had in a long time the service was amazing and we will definitely be coming back my friend and I shared the shrimp scampi and the prosciutto and fig pizza. The shrimp scampi was amazing, it had a little bit of creaminess to it and the taste was really good. The pizza was OK. It was not cooked well enough, so it tasted kind of doughy, but overall our meal was really good. Oh by the way, I had the Cicily drink as well as their version of the French 75 and they were both absolutely amazing I like the atmosphere of this place. It’s kind of quiet and quaint. I love that they have a happy hour from 4 to 6 PM, they could definitely use some revamping on the happy hour menu there’s not a lot of choices and no prices which is an absolute no-no like tell people how much they’re paying for things like what’s the big secret. However, I do recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back.

Our server was awesome, very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the service was very slow. My wife and I had a great time, and the food was delicious. I had the lamb and my wife had duck. We sat outside in the patio area and had a great view of the lake. After no longer being able to take the heat outside, they were kind enough to seat us inside.

Bria N.

Yelp
My Company Christmas Dinner was held here, excellent wine, even better service, Nice to still see Chef's coming out and taking pride in their work. A time was had I tell you.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Great food and love the service. Their pasta is so fresh and very creative while having the classics. We tried their pizzas and ended up going home with 3 of their dough balls to make at home because it was so light and airy. They have a beautiful patio with lots of umbrellas for shade. I wish they were open for lunch and I would eat here more.

Yelp
We dined inside. It was our first time at Passerella. A high end feel with a fun atmosphere and white linens. Chef Dixon and the Team made our anniversary dinner very special. Wife and I each had custom pasta dishes. Chef Dixon came to our table and asked us a lot of questions regarding what type of protein, pasta types, heat, sauces, and more. We started with an off menu bread and spreadable cheese course. So much food. Amazing lobster bisque for me. Wife and a creamy sausage soup. I had a house merlot and Tonya also had a red. I ended up with Shrimp Diablo and my wife had a chicken dish entered as Chicken a la Tonya. Her dish had white and red sauce with mixed veggies. We both shared the complimentary warm bread course. A right sized loaf which we ended up eating with olive oil at the house. For dessert Chef made us a personal shareable plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate sauce. We also ordered the Tiramasu. Loved it all. Highly recommended. Including 4 glasses of wine and tip it ran $130. We ordered too much and had a great meal the next day of leftovers. Will return.

Yelp
This Lunch menu is excellent! I had the best chicken Parm sandwich I've ever had! The Fresh pizza dough wrap was incredible! If you are not having a chef make your lunch, you are missing out! This is my new Favorite Lunch spot!! Great vibe in Town lake area..

Steve S.

Yelp
Had another GREAT meal here today (3rd time in 6 weeks!) Garlic scampi with pasta with garlic cream sauce and broccolini. It was delicious with a delightful "leave" on the palate. Perfect proportions and the ambiance was delightful. The only drawback? My fiancé couldn't be with me! The service was as good as the food. While I miss Chef Dixon, Chef Ed Roberts is becoming a real gem for this area!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
*Update* I did receive a call from Passarella today offering me another opportunity to visit but I politely declined out of lack of interest. Perhaps it was too soon to consider visiting and the bad taste is still there? Compliments to Passarella management for their professionalism and willingness to take feedback while offering a resolution.

Telisa J.

Yelp
Something has changed with their food recently. Placed an order for delivery and ordered same meals we have in the past. Lasagna was not only a smaller portion, but tasted different and not as good as it used to. We ordered a pizza also and it barely had any sauce on it. Very dry and not much flavor. We also asked for bread but didn't get it.

Daisy A.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends and we absolutely loved our experience here. We did not have a reservation but we were able to grab a table without a wait on a Thursday evening. We were catching up so we went straight to tequila shots instead of wine or cocktails and our server Micah, was absolutely amazing with us and helping fit the fun vibe. He was also patient with us as we were waiting on one other person to arrive a bit later. We started with the ricotta and honey appetizer which was amazing. Micah even brought out some house bread for us which was warm and fresh. We each had different plates including the lasagna, lobster bisque, shrimp scampi, but our favorite was the sausage and peppers pasta. There is plenty of parking since it's in the boardwalk center so never have to worry about that. Plus it's great to walk around after! Definitely recommend for some great Italian food and a nice experience.

Ryan V.

Yelp
Was offered complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival. The manager then brought my 8 year old a complimentary Shirley Temple in a fancy glass, he thought that was pretty cool. I had the lunch chicken parmigiana, my wife had the veggie ravioli and my son had the kids fettuccine Alfredo and it was all very good. Our server was very polite and attentive. They also have a dedicated pizza menu that I will be trying. We came here when it first opened, not sure why it took us so long to come back, but we won't wait that long again based on today's experience.

David Y.

Yelp
The food here was excellent - no complaints there. The lamb was some of the best lamb I've had, hands down. The waitress was attentive, and apologetic for the slow kitchen service. We were some of the only customers there, but it took much longer than necessary to be served. Our entree was delivered before the bread and the appetizer, and the cocktail and wine took too long to be served as well. Once we received our meal, though, everything was good. Definitely worth another visit. I hope the logistics issues get solved beforehand.

Yelp
This place is interesting. Must be reinventing themselves. First time here was the opening. How do i say.... small portions, tiny drinks, bell of the ball. Primadonna. Im here a year later under protest. But, it was good. The chicken piccata was great. We split the chopped salad which was really good and ample. Wine portions are nice, reasonably priced, and the selection is good. Im coming back, this may be a winner.

Yelp
Beware, scammer server!! Check your credit card statements. Went here on Christmas Eve, the bill was $84.25. Decided to leave a cash tip of $30 (~35%) Wrote cash tip on the receipt and signed it. Looked at my statement and the server added another $14 tip herself, bringing the total tip to $44 or 52%. Her name is Sophie. Talked to the restaurant, and after they looked into it, they refund the added $14. After I explained how ridiculous this is and repeated how much of a tip I left because it was Christmas Eve since I appreciated the staff being there and then the total tip Sophie felt entitled to, Doug, who I spoke with, offered to refund the total bill, but I refused. Not the point...they employ a scammer, her name is Sophie, just to repeat that again. Check your receipt, especially if you get Sophie as your server!! Merry Christmas to me! Guess that's what I get for being generous and leaving cash. ‍

Yelp
Came in for the first time this past week and I'm already back again. The service is amazing and every one who works here is just as great if not better. I got the chance to meet the manager Ali and the bartenders Tony and Cheyenne, there are all amazing. They all made me feel as if I've been coming here for years. I've only had the chance to try the Italian fennel broth mussels, sooo delicious! The lobster bisque will now always be my go to, as I've traveled to MANY restaurants to try and find my favorite one, this week it has now come to a stop for that. I've only sat at the bar for the 2 times that's I've been here now but I will venture out and sit on the patio one of these days because they have a beautiful view of the lake, especially during sunset. I will definitely refer my friends and anyone I know to this restaurant, because anytime or day is a great time to stop by with the amazing drinks, food, and can't forget the service.

Bryon P.

Yelp
Great happy hour with great service at the bar... Loved all that I had from the cocktail to the happy hour bites... The restaurant was nice and cool, which offset the crazy heat outside... The perfect end to a long week...

Paula Y.

Yelp
First time here, of course I found it on yelp! My waiter Paul was so nice, told me about the menu, the specials, the ambience, the things that they do during the week. The food was delicious and then I told him I was celebrating my birthday. He comes back out with a beautiful baked Alaska cake decorated so cute. Take a look! I'll definitely be back, and the water views are perfect.

J R.

Yelp
Im sorry but went here for my Birthday and was so disappointed! Service did not know to take away wine glasses from kids place setting! Food was not anything to brag about ! Wine selection was good! This was my second time and i wanted to like it but was so disappointed!

Melinda B.

Yelp
La Passarella in Cypress, Texas, is a fantastic spot for a date night! The ambiance is inviting, the desserts are plentiful and delicious, and the chicken Parmesan is my absolute favorite. Highly recommend this gem!

Evelyn L.

Yelp
The restaurant was lovely. Our waitress was super sweet as well. We ordered a couple stuff but nothing was memorable. I thought the plates were good. Would I come back? Not sure, but it was very nice to try and I think it's a great addition to the boardwalk!

David L.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoy this place. Been there twice in a week. The staff is top notch, the food is great, and they do a good job of managing crowds and walk-ins so the place never feels cramped. The drinks are great. I love it. Their prices are a little higher than average, but they do a lot to make it worth it. My only critique is that they need to thinly slice the duck instead of cutting it into a few thick slices. I think that would make it feel like more duck and make it a tad more tender. Other than that I think this is the best upscale Italian place in the area by a wide margin.

Diana D.

Yelp
We came after mass around 6:30 pm. We were seated right away and requested outdoor seating. Complementary champagne while we looked at the menu. Mia, our server was friendly. The best thing on the menu was the calamari as it had a mix with shrimp. The bread was dry. I ordered the special surf and turf. Lobster was dry and rubbery and steak was tough and well done. (Medium rare was requested.) They first brought the wrong order. The sides were so much better than the entrée. They had to replace my wine as a gnat flew in it which was most likely because we were sitting outside. My husband ordered the sausage pasta. He said it was decent. Such a nice place by the dock and a lakeside view but was disappointed in the food.

Madeleine N.

Yelp
The food was good once we FINALLY got it, the service however was absolutely abysmal, it took 30 min before our orders were even taken, a min of 20 to get our cocktails, and once the food finally did come out they brought out the complete wrong order for my husband and daughter so we had to go back to waiting for the right food to come out. Overall will not be coming back here.

Lorinda S.

Yelp
We had no reservations for 7 people. The customer service was fantastic, they sat us with no problem. The food was outstanding. I had the veil. It was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Sabrina K.

Yelp
We had a blast at the Passarella bar. Naldo, Mike, Zach and Dixon were so friendly and fun. The food and espresso martinis were awesome! We will definitely be back soon.

Petra G.

Yelp
My son brought me here for Mother's Day and it was a fabulous experience. The manager, Nalto (sp), went from table to table, making sure all the guests felt welcomed, and their needs were being met. The food was excellent and much to my surprise, the service was attentive, even on a super busy day like Mother's Day. I think the managers visibility helped tremendously keeping things under control. The meatball appetizers and ricotta was very tasty, the lasagna was perfect, the chicken Parmesan was tender and the Pomodoro sauce was amazing. The specialty drinks were delightful too. The ambience was very nice with great music in the background. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

Diane M.

Yelp
Met friend there Dec. 10th. She was offered complimentary champagne, said "yes" then never got it. This was approx. 5:15pm and she was the ONLY one there. I arrived 10min later. Waited 12-15 min then got water, offer of free champagne (we said yes) and waiter took our drink orders. My Italian Chopped Salad was mostly lettuce and banana peppers. Only 4 cherry tomatoes - quite disappointing. Not a $14.00 salad for sure! Her pasta seemed fine. Later, we struggled to get waiter's attention for drinks. After trying for well over 10min, I called the restaurant, asked the hostess to look left for the lady waving, asking her to get waiter to come visit our table. He was horrible all night. Even acknowledged it later saying "we're short staffed". We saw it was only he and bartender (she came out from behind bar often to help him) but during our 3 hrs there, the most tables at any one time was 8, and none were large tables. I waited tables as a young person and there is no reason a hostess, waiter and bartender can't easily take care of 5-8 tables at one time particularly when they have staggered arrival times. Just so disappointing. Had to flag him down later for water. Never asked if we wanted dessert. My first time and I have zero desire to ever try it again. Go to Adriatic or Mezzanote for quality Italian food and excellent service.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
We gave Passerella a try last night. The restaurant is very nice. The service was great. The free glass of champagne on arrival was a nice surprise. We ordered the caprese salad, crispy skin salmon and a cup of the Italian soup. The soup was delicious. The potatoes chunks were a bit big but the flavor was very good. The salmon was also very good but the vegetables served with it were basically raw. I like my veggies to be a bit crunchy and not mushy but the green beans were barely cooked at all. The salad had way too much raw garlic sprinkled all over it. I couldn't eat it. I took it home and tried to add some more ingredients to it but it was still too much garlic. If the garlic were roasted it probably would have been delicious. One plus was the $20 bottle of Italian wine. It was actually pretty good.

Nathan D.

Yelp
Everything about our visit was exceptional! The ambiance is quite nice with a comfortable volume for conversation at the table. The service was very good and attentive. All the food was delicious and there were great wine selections. The pricing is also favorable. Highly recommended!

Terry T.

Yelp
The service was outstandingly good. The chef stopped by and welcomed us as first time customers. He discussed some menu choices and options. The food was exceptionally good and everything from appetizers to dessert was outstanding. Our total tab for five of us was surprisingly low considering how great the experience was.

Vickie P.

Yelp
The ambiance was very business casual and the dining room was very tight in proximity of table placement Reservations are a good idea. The noise level was high after the dining area filled up so if you intending on having an intimate conversation, the patio dining option might be a better choice. Our server was attentive and shared the specials with us. The food was very good and we all had something different. Our table had the Lamb, the Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and the cheesy bread.

Vern L.

Yelp
The service here was good. Mia was very nice. The food was not that good. The food had an aftertaste of propane which was weird. When we asked the server how the food was prepared to see if it was prepared with a portable gas stove or something of the sort, she replied that it was not. We laughed it off and I told her not to mention it to the manager or anyone because it was just a question. She ended up mentioning it to the manager while we were still there and the manager came out and was rudely stating that they don't use propane and basically invalidating what I said. It was not a big deal but the way the manager came over and was trying to invalidate what i tasted was odd. The servers were nice but the manager needed more hospitality training.

Dannie D.

Yelp
Best wine ever! Love their happy hour menu. Great view of the lake. Great service. The full menu is also really tasty. Look at my beautiful cheeseboard

Bruce J.

Yelp
The food is amazing truly authentic Italian very nice wines selection as well. Outside seating on the lake and the weather is nice just as to the ambience.

Shannon V.

Yelp
Everything was excellent, we had the chicken marsala, mushroom risotto, and sausage & peppers. Service was perfect, just the right amount of attention while still allowing us to take our time & enjoy the experience. Quiet & cozy, and the complimentary glass of champagne when you arrive is such a nice touch. Love this place!

Jackie S.

Yelp
The service was good, however, the food was not. My husband ordered a Panzanella salad which was covered in croutons so much you couldn't see the lettuce. After removing the croutons he found the salad drenched in dressing at minimum 1/4 cup dressing sitting in bowl. I had the chicken with capers which was edible though nothing to draw me back to restaurant.

Tim M.

Yelp
Mia was such a pleasant person and quite accommodating with our orders. The service was amazing and on par with restaurants twice the price! The executive chef was wonderful, stopping by to check on us and making sure everything was wonderful, which it was! My wife had the lasagna, my niece the crispy salmon, and I had the sausage hash. Everything was amazing, including the lobster bisque (get it you won't regret it!) and the whipped ricotta that I couldn't stop eating. Definitely worth a visit and the lunch crowd was managed well, so we got in quickly and out just as quick!

Thu H.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of working with Ali, the amazing manager, at the restaurant to throw my daughter a special sweet 16th birthday and boy did he deliver! From personalizing the custom menu himself and adding a big screen TV that also had the same sweet message, he and the staff did all they could to ensure my daughter, our guests and family had a memorable celebration. The food and service we received was awesome but Ali's great customer service was top notch .. thank you so much!

Lorena R.

Yelp
First time here, services was very nice. Food was great. Definitely coming back to try more items.

Sunny C.

Yelp
For an allergy ridden gal, I was pleasantly surprised that they have great gluten free options. However, the gluten free bread which is also what is used to make the cauliflower crust for the pizza was undeniably delicious and amazing! Personal attention by the chef added to an enjoyable lunch. I will be back!

Jim H.

Yelp
Here for dinner with my special friend, we were greeted by our server Haylee who provided just outstanding service. Not constantly in our faces but always immediately and courteously available. She should be given a raise tomorrow. Naldo the manager and Chef Dixon also personally greeted us at our table and asked if we were here for a special occasion, a great example of personal attention to us as customers and part of the great ambiance. Thanks to Haylee and the team. Come here if you want a great dining experience.

Noreen A.

Yelp
I want to share what a great experience we had at Passerella's again. My first two experiences were not great, but that was almost 2 years ago and I'm really glad I tried it again. They must have a new chef because Dixon is wonderful. Ali, the manager is so welcoming and so much fun. If you're looking for something fun to do on the boardwalk I highly recommend Passarella's. They also have their wine at almost cost which is unheard of! I procrastinated to do this review but it's about time. I acknowledge how well they're doing. Give it a try.

Crystal S.

Yelp
Spontaneously went here for lunch on a Saturday and so glad we did. We are not even big Italian fans but the food was amazing! The herb bread that was bought to the table was warm and tasty. My husband and I ordered the lobster bisque and it was perfection. Also had the meatballs as an appetizer and they were also great. I chose the chicken piccata and my husband went with the lasagna. Kisses to the chef! Everything was delicious. I wasn't crazy about the salad and I always look forward to a good Italian house salad. Also, I've heard rumors about a complimentary glass of champagne when you get seated and we didn't get that. Maybe because it was lunch. Our waiter Bryan was excellent. Very attentive and had great recommendations. I will definitely be back when in the mood for some Italian.

Don B.

Yelp
The shrimp scampi dish and passion fruit tea was on point. Would definitely visit again. The server Haylee was friendly and made us feel like home

Miguel G.

Yelp
Great food and DRINKS. Our server Lee provided great service. Definitely coming back!

Sarai T.

Yelp
An amazing experience overall! Naldo & Mike took very good care of us. The patio setting is beautiful, drinks are outstanding and the food is a magnificent. Definitely recommend this place!

susan s.

Yelp
Excellent food and welcoming atmosphere. We were delighted by our attentive server, and appreciated that the chef popped by our table for a nice long chat. Definitely going back!

Bret L.

Yelp
Chantel, Emily, and Lee went over and beyond!!! Bat drinks were amazing while waiting for a lakeside view table. The food and service were top notch!! Hands down the best service in cypress!!!

Richard F.

Yelp
Dinner on Valentine's Day so you know they were slammed but we still got our table on time and had excellent service. Free champagne at the door while we waited for a bit. Lost a star because the appetizer mussels were too briney (salty) to eat and several were not open. A few DOA mussels. Appetizer, 2 entrees, whole bottle of grigio, expresso martini, and one dessert came to $150 a very good value on such a special day. Nice romantic atmosphere

Sarah S.

Yelp
I will always request Cheyenne to take care of me when I dine here. Attentive, gracious, informative and friendly are just some of the many ways I would describe the service you'll receive from Cheyenne. Recommending the BEST wines and the Taste of Italy on every Tuesday has me wanting to frequent at Passarellas! What a great 30th birthday dinner! Ps. Some of the best lamb I've ever had!!!
