Passerella benefits from a fantastic location and gives the impression of a great dining experience. The food itself was pretty good — not extraordinary, but decent enough. The chicken picatta plate was way too “busy” for such a delicate dish. But at least the flavor was there. The food saved the whole visit to be fair.
However, the rest of the experience was deeply disappointing. The bread was honestly the worst we’ve ever had in a restaurant — dry, flavorless, and crumbling all over the table. Speaking of crumbs, we actually had to ask the server to crumb the table, and even then he seemed completely uninterested in doing it. The service was attentive but the young man who served us was clearly new in the business, he did not know what a Bellini cocktail was. Big kudos to him for asking the bartender who in the end made a fantastic Bellini for my wife though .The management ? If the gentleman wearing that untidy attire, with scuffed shirt, wrinkled sweater, and had a careless attitude and involvement ( he did not stop once at our table) …if he is the manager…well the place is doomed for failure.
It’s such a shame, because the setting and location is truly top notch. The whole experience felt like we’re dining in a Denny’s diner not a fine dining location.
They have good potential but they definitely need a management overhaul and better training for their staff.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will definitely not return.
