The ambiance was good! When we first walked in, we were seated immediately (for two people). That's not bad for a Saturday night. My only complaint for the atmosphere is that it smells... very heavily of cheese.
Our server came around and got us situated. We wanted to try something new and fancy without spending an arm and a leg; they had options for us!
We shared bread on the house, which was a great surprise. We could tell it was handmade, and the butter was plentiful.
We then got our ravioli frito (fried ravioli), which was okay for an appetizer, but a bit dry and chewy.
Since we ordered entrees, we got a soup or salad. We then had the belly button soup, which was great, but the belly buttons were mid. It tasted a bit like au jus, made with fresh beef broth. If you decide to get a Caesar salad, note that it's an actual Caesar salad with freshly made dressing-- thus, there's an up charge for that if you decide to get that as your entree side.
I received my alfio dish; everything was great, except the chicken. It was really dry. I would expect better for the price I paid for it. Our server also did the bare minimum of checking in on us. When I had told our server about the dry chicken, she noted it and apologized, but that's it.
My friend received her Calamari steak, which was excellent! It was perfectly cooked and larger than we thought the 4 oz pieces would be.
Overall, this restaurant was okay; it was a good dining experience, but the food did not meet my expectations and was dry. I think if you're willing to pay for seafood, the food might be more worth the cost and experience.
