Pastabilities is a must-visit for pasta lovers! We tried their fresh tomato pasta, and it was absolutely delicious—the sauce was rich and flavorful, with just the right balance of tangy and sweet. The homemade pasta itself was perfectly cooked, with a tender yet firm texture that made every bite enjoyable. We also explored other menu items, like their garlic bread and seasonal salad, which were equally delightful. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. It’s a place where you can truly taste the quality in every dish.

Celebrating a friend’s birthday here was a great decision! This is the second time I eat here, I’ve tried different dishes and they all have been beyond delicious (no wonder why there’s always people waiting!). Gina took care of us and she was delightful. Pastabilities makes justice to its fame

Have been a fan of spicy hot tomato sauce from Pastabilities for years and finally had a chance to visit again. The spicy hot tomato sauce and pork chop was great though the ravioli and drinks were just ok. Service overall was friendly except for when we checked in and the host was not the friendliest since we have a support dog and asked to sit at a different table due not wanting to be too close to the door where people constantly go in and out. Overall still an enjoyable meal and our waiter was attentive. We were also able to grab some sauce to-go!

I had a fantastic meal at Pastabilities! My server was great—they knew all the vegan options right away and helped me make the perfect choice. I went with the vegan basil pesto with penne and added vegan meatballs, and it was absolutely delicious! The pesto was fresh and flavorful, and the vegan meatballs were the perfect complement. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which made for a lovely dining experience. Thankfully, we didn’t sit near the bar, as it was getting crowded when we left. Definitely make a reservation—this spot fills up quickly, and for good reason! Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike.

We drove 2 hours to try this restaurant since we heard such great things about it. Luckily, I made reservations over a month in advanced so there was no wait. There were people with no reservations forming a line outside the restaurant before they even opened at 4. We had the calamari & stretch bread with the hot oil tom. In my option, the hot oil tom was the best part of the meal, it was delicious and I will definitely crave that. The calamari was standard, it’s comparable to other Italian restaurants. I ordered the pink vodka pasta with (2) shrimp. This meal was very disappointing. It lacked flavor and the sauce was very watery. I would never have this meal again. It does not compare to many other great penne vodka dishes that I have had at local restaurants. Plus the two shrimp were on the small side and for $8 extra, I didn’t think it was worth it. My husband had the wicky chicken riggies and he loved it. I tasted his and it had good flavor to it and the sauce was a thicker consistency than mine. It was spicy but that’s to be expected with the dish. The portions were generous so we were too full for dessert. Based off the reviews it seems like some meals are magical and others aren’t. If I was ever in the area, I night try a different meal but never again the pink vodka sauce pasta. However, like I said before that hot oil Tom was delish!

The wait can be pretty long, but the food is really delicious! They have a huge variety of pasta dishes and they make a really good tomato oil (it's one of their specialties). They have really nice servers, and the food does not take long to come out. The pasta comes out hot and fresh. I had the zucchini lasagna which tasted good, but the pasta dishes taste fresher and better. I'd recommend any pasta dishes with the tomato oil.

Google
Worth the wait. This is the place for Pasta obviously. But almost exclusively pasta. The riggi-pastacini was amazing. Also of course the house spicy tomato sauce complimentary. Even the bread was good. Always go with their pasta they make fresh in house. Waited a little over an hour for a table for 3 on a Friday night

Took my girlfriend here for dinner, and it was overall a good experience. The wait can be a nightmare, I will definitely make reservations next time. We joined the waitlist 15 minutes after open and waited and line for a couple hours. If you're not prepared you might walk into a claustrophobic nightmare. It was really packed with people and unpleasant until we were seated. Then the environment was calm and relaxing. For how busy it was the service was excellent. Our server was quick, polite and responsive. Once seated it didn't take long to eat. The gnocchi and vodka sauce was amazing. We had a great dinner. I'd highly recommend. Just plan in advance.

Yelp
A Syracuse main stay. Such a breath of fresh air when it comes to Italian dining. An almost fusion blend to traditional Italian cooking, Pastabilities is as unique as it is amazing. ALWAYS busy, this play was busting at the steam the Friday before Christmas. Made a reservation months ago for their private area/room. Service was fantastic and speedy. Duck flatbread for an app was very good. Drinks were great, entrees even better. Everyone except me left with leftovers too, which is nice. A must try for out of towners visiting Syracuse and locals alike. Top 3 restaurant in Syracuse

Yelp
I went to Pasta's for the first time in years, and the first time ever for lunch. When you come for dinner you might find yourself on the waitlist for a while, even on "slower" weeknights. Their lunch service is super fast casual though, and goes quickly. So, stopping here midday is a good way to get some of your favorites without having to commit to hours out. You sit at a table and order via QR code, and the staff will run your food out. You can keep the tab open throughout the meal and close it at the end. I got the fettuccine with hot vodka sauce. It was so incredibly good. The spicy tomato oil gives it just the right amount of kick, with the creamy vodka sauce so tangy and hot and perfect for a winter's day. The pasta is homemade and high quality, and of course the stretch bread is always phenomenal. They have a really smart lunch setup, and if you work downtown (or even if not) this is a reliable spot for a fantastic lunch.

Alysha J.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal! The highlight of my traveling out of state for work is their restaurant! The run-down appetizer deserves a chef's kiss! I recommend eating in versus ordering; you receive a lot more. Let's go to entrees; the only one I have ever ordered is the meatball riggie turndown. It was love at first taste and will forever be my go-to order. The service is spectacular! The way the bartenders work together so effortlessly gives good vibes. The ambiance is casual, but for dinner, it was a little more elevated.

Yelp
I adore Pastabilities! It's usually very busy, so calling ahead is ideal. They have a great bar and interesting seating areas. Each space is a little different on atmosphere and decor. Our waitress was wonderful and attention. The food was outstanding as usual. You must order the bread and hot oil. It's classic. I can often find parking over by The Most.

Mike M.

Yelp
Came as part of my 5,800 mile 30 city food trip. Really excited to try to spicy hot tomato oil and stretch bread. Also ordered the meatball sub with wicked riggies sauce and mozarella. The food was fantastic, especially the sandwich. The service was a bit iffy. Its self order from a QR code which is fine but it's kind of a team approach to what staff serve your table and that was inconsistent as I looked around. Some tables of 1 got a glass of water and some a big liter bottle. Some staff super friendly. Some a bit standoffish and distracted by their phone or colleagues. 5 tables in use at open and still at times didn't see any service. Little weird tipping when it's self order and sever not specially assigned with the varying quality. If not for that, perfect 5 for food and space!

Yelp
Bottom Line Up Front: A total Friends and Family recommendation. I'd even recommend Pastabilities to my biggest enemy....it was that good. I've got nothing remotely negative to say. We throughly enjoyed our experience last night and we will be back. For the longest time I thought Pastabilities was just another Olive Garden / Carrabba's Italian Grill knock off serving large volumes of average pasta to please the masses. But....goodness was I sadly mistaken. This ignorant preconceived idea kept me from Pastabilities until last night. (Note: In order to enhance your experience, call ahead to get yourself on the wait list as the queue of hungry anxious people is long at the door.) Last night was a pleasure, from start to finish. Everything was 100% on point. Reception: Friendly, polite and welcoming. Wait Staff: Knowledgable, friendly, attentive, accommodating, engaging and responsive. Bar Service: Fast and spot on. Kitchen: Wow...absolutely wonderful. Great flavors, perfect timing and more than enough to fill you up and take a little something home for tomorrow. The complementary bread with a side of tomato sauce and hot oil was tasty indeed. (So much so that my 14 year old son had to have more.) My wife and son both selected the Hot Bolognese while I elected to have Uncle Tony's chop topped with a kale salad. While their pasta dishes were very good and I'd belly up to either one of them any day of the week, my mouth is watering just thinking back to that chop last night. Almost 1.5 to 2 inches thick, perfectly cooked (crispy exterior but juicy, moist and full of flavor on the inside). The kale salad was exceptional and paired perfectly with the chop. My only regret is that I could not finish all...but on a positive note - I have lunch today. ;) Will we be back.....YES Worth the drive from Maracellus....absolutely Worth the money....indeed Worth the praise....no question about it. Please do NOT make the same mistake I did by overlooking Pastabailities. This is NOT a Olive Garden / Carrabba's knock off hiding their average flavor/quality behind masses amounts of food. Pastabalities is so much more. You will leave happy and content. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Yelp
This place is recommended by Guy Fieri so we had to check it out. Sure enough at 4pm when they open for dinner there was a long line outside. But the hostess staff was able to get people seated fast enough, pretty impressive! There's a lot of seating, even outside but too hot ATM. They started us off with some bread and oil... which was mostly tomato sauce drizzled in olive oil... this was so good, just make sure you don't dip and dip you get full from apps. There's a lot of pasta choices like the Riggie turn down with meatballs, Alfredo sauce helped tone down the spicy tomato sauce. Pastabilities is worth the stop if you're in the Syracuse area!

Yelp
A colleague of mine and I found out we were going to be in Syracuse for work, we immediately booked a reservation! We went on a Sunday evening and boy were we glad we thought in advance. We arrived early and decided to sit at the bar after checking in with a very friendly hostess. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our waitress was super bubbly and very attentive. We took all of her recommendations twas not disappointed at all! As a matter of fact I was so delighted with the food I returned the next day for more The antipasto was so fresh, but you either need to share it or only have that as it is filing. My colleague loved his carbonara, he said the pasta was fresh, he didn't even feel bloated after consuming it. I'm not sure which item was the star for me because that hot tom sauce is absolutely incredible and because I didn't check a bag, I have to order some online. The fried Zucchini lasagna was to die for and I'm not a vegetarian, but I would order it over and over again! Last, but certainly not least the spiced peach mango burrata was very interesting in a great way and unique to the point in my travels I haven't come across anything similar. It was delicious just writing this review makes me want to take a flight just for it. This menu has something for everyone and no one will be disappointed, I guarantee. It is a bit dark in there if you sit in a booth as we did. I do wish there were chairs at the bar as opposed to stools, but that's really the only complaint.

Oenihss D.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the place was packed to the brim, and the service was superb.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE PASTA, SERVICE AND AMBIANCE ==================================== My husband and I have been trying to go to Pastabilities while in Syracuse since the summer of 2022, but we were never organized enough to make a reservation. We tried walking in a couple times, but we would have had to wait for hours. Flash forward a couple years to April 2, 2024 and my husband and I drove down from our Airbnb in Sackets Harbor to pick my daughter-in-law (dil) up from the airport. I asked where she wanted to go for dinner weeks ago and was ecstatic when she recommended Pastabilities. I made a reservation on Open Table a few weeks in advance and I had to give them my credit card that they would charge if I didn't show up. There was no way we weren't going to show up unless my daughter-in-law's flight was delayed. I started off with their house chianti while waiting at the bar. My dil chose a chardonnay. My husband's beverage of choice is always a Diet Pepsi. I can't get him to stop. I give up, but it's nice I always have a designated driver. Yay me. We all started off with bread and spicy pasta sauce. That was really good and we took some back to the Airbnb. My son arrived a few days later from his deployment to Syria and he loves to add that to his scrambled eggs. My dil and I both chose the campanelle pasta with the fresh basil pesto which included pinenuts, walnuts and and locatelli cheese. I was in hog heaven and could not stop eating that to save my life. My husband chose the short rib straganoff and that was incredible as well. I kept snagging bites of that. He was able to spare some leftovers, so we had that the next day. My husband liked their tiramisu for dessert and I loved my Irish coffee for my dessert. There are a lot of good restaurants in Syracuse, but this will probably be on the top of my list for future trips.

Yelp
I just had an incredible time here with my husband and my mother in law. We got here at 3:30PM and there was already a line formed of people waiting for the 4:00 opening. We were seated at a booth and our waitress was Lakin, who was OUTSTANDING. Seriously, she represents the restaurant so well and did an incredible job. She was attentive, but not overbearing, and knowledgable of the menu. So, the vibe inside is really cool. It has a cozy industrial feel to it. We loved it. Now the food. The stretch bread and hot tomato sauce. Out of this world. It reminded me of my grandmothers spicy sauce, which is saying a lot. We had additional garlic bread as an appetizer, along with the Wicky Wicky pasta-cini (fried angel hair pasta w/ riggie sauce). Both were great. I couldn't have been happier, we were off to a great start. I had the lasagna, my husband had the chicken riggies, and my mother in law had the roasted chicken parm with pumpkin ravioli. The lasagna was great and there was a huge portion of it. I loved the pesto drizzle over it. I'd absolutely get this again. My husband's chicken riggies were great. Spicy, creamy, full of flavor. Seriously, a home run. And then there was my mother in laws chicken dish. The presentation was okay, but this is why we don't judge a book by its covers. This may have been the best dish we had that night. The chicken was packed full of flavor and the pumpkin ravioli was great. Give me a whole dish of those please! Overall, blown away from service to food and everything by in between. We absolutely will be back and will be bringing our friends. On a side note, their house Cab Sav is In Sheep's Clothing by Maison Noir. This is Andre Mack's vineyard and is one of my husbands favorite Cab Sav's. Major props to whoever added this to the menu.

Abby W.

Yelp
We love love love Pastabilities! That being said, takeout and dine in are not made the same! We didn't receive any hot tomato oil was included in our order (arguably the best part), and the portion size was probably 1/3 of a dine in portion of pasta. It was still $20. Aside from that it was delicious as always.

Michele S.

Yelp
Words can't describe the amazingness that comes from Pastabilities. The food is amazing, the service has always been top tier, and the overall vibe and ambiance of the place is top notch. Highly recommend the stretch bread and and the spicy hot tomato oil. You won't regret stopping by!

Jessica G.

Yelp
I went for lunch which is a fast casual setting. The service during lunch is minimal as you order online using a QR code and then your food is brought to you but not much else. I didn't mind this at all. They also had the option to order at the bar and pay there with cash. I ordered the chicken riggies and they were honestly some of the best I have ever had. Perfect amount of spice and the chicken was nice and juicy. It was a pretty decent portion for the price. I would definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.

Nisha S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious and the ambiance is so relaxing. Food came out fast and our serve was great! We made reservations but it was worth the wait. We're definitely planning another trip here, love it love it love it!

Tracy C.

Yelp
Omg - I cant believe where to begin - you want pasta this is the place and if you love sauce this is the place!!! Summer thyme sangria - nice and light - when you sit down bread and sauce and be ready as the sauce has a nice kick - all the staff was extremely nice - our waitress was great, the bus girl was great and I will assume it was the manager that walked over to ass and made sure we were good and told us to make sure to go to the state fair! The ambiance was very cute the two things that I saw was the front door and and if you sit at the bar which I thought was cool was you have bigs or a pocketbooks there are coat hooks underneath - this is a must do and see and get there when they open or make a reservation! Enjoy my pics as they do no justice

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Pastabilities is THE BEST FOOD in Syracuse. We visited with our out-of-town friends on a Wednesday night, and definitely glad to have our reservation. I love how friendly and accommodating servers are when you visit. They have a great variety of music, sometimes live, as well as awesome decor that make you feel fancy and grungy and overall special to be in the space. We LOVE the spicy tomato oil- I would drink it personally. If you haven't been, you're missing out and I hope you change your mind and come here.

Heather P.

Yelp
This was our second time here, hands down our favorite restaurant in Syracuse! Stopped for lunch this time as it was New Year's Eve and knew I'd be crazy during dinner service. Everything was truly fantastic, delicious food, overly attentive and positive staff, get ambiance... even the bathroom is top notch . Between the two of us we've now tried four different dishes during our visits and every one was fantastic. I wish this restaurant was on my hometown I'd spend every special occasion there!

AJ L.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in all of Syracuse! Anytime I am in the area, I make sure to stop here. This is a create your own pasta bar with a ton of options. The spicy tomato oil is to die for. I personally love that mixed with the vodka sauce served over rigatoni with grilled chicken - a killer combination. Anytime I come, I always make sure to buy the spicy tomato oil to bring back home. The place is usually packed but service is incredibly quick, so the waits aren't usually too long. There are so many options and everything is cooked Al dente. It's a nice restaurant in a nice down town part of the city, so there is lots to do. Highly, highly recommend.

Chad L.

Yelp
Coolest spot in Armory Square, great vibe and atmosphere. Love the beer selection, and the flexible and amazing pasta dishes truly show their abilities! It's a must-do if you are downtown.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
I've been to Pastabilities a few times, and it's one of my favorite date night locations downtown! You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, everything I've tried has been divine. The bread and hot tom oil is an awesome start to a meal. My go to order is chicken parmesan, with chocolate cake for dessert. The staff is very friendly, and I've never had a long wait for food. I'd definitely recommend a reservation though, as wait times for a table can be long.

Tracey D.

Yelp
The Pastabilities are endless! After being featured on DDD it's extremely busy so a reservation is required. We started with the meatball bake and it didn't disappoint. I had ravioli with bolognese sauce and it was so delicious and my husband had linguine with pesto sauce and loved it. If I'm ever in the Syracuse area I will definitely go back to Pastabilities.

Destiny L.

Yelp
When it comes to the must visits in Syracuse, this should be at the very top of that list. I was only in Syracuse for a short time, but I would absolutely come back here next time I'm in the area. It's probably actually number one for the must return list. The pasta was just absolutely amazing and the spicy tom was something I will dream of for a long time. They had so many great options. It was hard to choose, but I really enjoyed the lasagna I went with. It had so many different flavors, and the sauce was just unreal. I will say as a New Mexican I wasn't a fan of their hatch chile margarita but luckily that special was on the way out. I definitely recommend making reservations, especially on the weekend. They got really busy for good reasons.

Ella L.

Yelp
As someone with a gluten allergy, I all but swore off eating out at Italian restaurants. But after a trip to Italy where I ate the best gluten free pasta, I had a hankering for more. Pastabilities delivered when it came to pasta cravings! I came in with no expectations but left feeling so satisfied. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could eat their gluten pasta twice a week and not get tired of it. I got their gluten free penne with the hot vodka sauce. I added blackened chicken to the dish and definitely recommend adding a veg or protein - I was able to get two meals out of it. I went with my vegan friend and she really enjoyed their vegan pink sauce! This restaurant is allergy/preference friendly based on our experience. The interior is cool and modern, their cocktails look great (though I didn't try any this time). Our waitress was very friendly and answered all our questions. I love that they have someone to help package leftovers and refill waters because they are busy! The only box Pastas doesn't tick for me is price. For my pasta dish with the added chicken it was a little more than $30. But for the price, you can taste the time and love put into the dish and I felt transported back to the Italian eateries with delicious saucy pasta. Overall so worth a try and as a special treat. I will definitely be going back!

Ally D.

Yelp
Pastabilities always delivers. Last night's trip was no exception. Delicious food with generous portions! Our server was very knowledgeable and inviting. The hot tomato oil is a signature of theirs and is served with freshly baked bread as a complimentary starter. The gnocchi was AMAZING and is one of about 7 pastas they make there. Definitely get a reservation, as this spot is always popping (for good reason!).

Raya V.

Yelp
A must to hit this place up when I'm in Cuse. The food is great, especially if you love Pasta & bread . There is always a line. I believe we even waited with a reservation before. It was worth it. The lunch system is different than full service dinner. You are seated, then you order through a QR code to begin a tab on your phone or you can order at the bar. The ambiance is so cute. I love the art on the walls and the lighting is def a mood. It's definitely a cool spot. It's always booming, but the service is great (full service at dinner). The drinks were meh but they weren't bad. My biggest reason for this place being a favorite is the spicy Tom oil and stretch bread.... O M G! At dinner it's complimentary, but I still order when I go for lunch. That spicy tomato oil is something special! Definitely go here.

Maddy M.

Yelp
Amazing service for our recent meal. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I recommend ordering the stretch bread with their signature Hot Tom Oil, the first round is complementary and would suit two people. I ordered the baked spinach manicotti and my partner ordered the riggies turn down (riggie sauce and Alfredo sauce combined) with meatballs. The server informed me the manicotti was overdone and offered to have it remade, but little did they know the crunchy, browned, cheese is my favorite! Can't wait to go back!

Justine D.

Yelp
This place has been a favorite for over a decade. My husband and I have joked about flying to Syracuse just to go here. The best part is their dipping sauce with fresh bread that comes out before your meal. I would eat this as my entree because it is that good. So much garlic and a little kick at the end. I have bought jars of this sauce for Christmas presents before...no joke. There is always a wait and it is always worth it. My favorite entree is the manicotti. It's not cloying with creaminess like some manicottis. The bubbling cheese on top is perfection and it is very filling. Other fun dishes have been the duck flatbread and chicken rigatoni. The servers are top notch and the place is so cozy. It tortures me that I live across the country from this gem.

Brittany Anne O.

Yelp
Came back to Syracuse after graduating from SU many years ago. I knew one spot I had to go to was Pastabilities. The food, ambiance and service were exactly as I remember! Top notch. The vibe inside the restaurant is inviting and intimate without being pretentious. The staff are friendly and helpful but never make you feel rushed. We loved the stretch bread with spicy tomato dipping oil - the recipe and quality has not changed in 15 years. Still an absolutely perfect way to start your meal! The pasta options are numerous and I love that they give you the ability to combine sauces for a unique meal. One person is our party was vegan and was pleasantly surprised by all of the options that fit her dietary needs. She especially liked the vegan meatballs. Our meal was delicious and our experience overall was so enjoyable. I only hope I don't wait another 15 years before coming back!

Tishri H.

Yelp
From the moment we walked into Pastabilities, we knew we were in for a treat. It was our first time dining here, and every aspect of the experience was phenomenal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable meal. Our waitress, Gina, was exceptional from start to finish. Her friendly demeanor and thorough knowledge of the menu made us feel right at home. She guided us through the extensive pasta options with ease, making spot-on recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. Gina's attentive service and genuine enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience with top-notch service, make your way to Pastability and ask for Gina--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
A group of 11 went to celebrate my birthday last week at Pastabilities. This place really doesn't need any more reviews, but I want to call out the service and how wonderful it was to schedule with them for a larger party. I had first called another place in town and they said they couldn't do separate checks, which I understand but also don't want to deal with. Pastabilities said it was no problem at all to do separate checks, and they explained up front that a 20% gratuity would be added to our bills. I did have to put my credit card down to hold the reservation. Dinner was great, and so was the service! We were in this little side room that I've never seen before that was super cute (I didn't take any pictures of it). I've never had a bad anything there, but the green chili alfredo that is currently on special ranks as one of the best dishes I've had out.

Bella C.

Yelp
Gorgeous back patio seating area. Food was insanely good. House Pinot (included in happy hour) was delish. Thank you to our server Holly for a great night!

Janet P.

Yelp
The best pasta and great service too. The menu is full of favorites. Bolognese sauce is superb and chicken riggies, meatballs all very good. Plus their signature daily bread with spicy hot tomato oil comes as an appetizer with your order. We'll be back!

Chip P.

Yelp
Another trip to Syracuse and another trip to Pastabilities. This place is always a good time, and their pasta offerings are always delicious. The spicy tom is soo good with bread, but very red pepper heavy if you're not into that. This time I cut it with Alfredo and added seared scallops as the protein over pappardelle. It was a little too much spicy tom for me, and my stomach regretted it later.

Maddy F.

Yelp
I love eating here but last night I had things to do, so I decided to grab take out. Fun fact: pastabilities excels at burgers as well as pasta. Their meatball smash burger was delicious. Pour a little hot tomato oil on it and it's amazing. I also appreciate their customer service. I got there early, but my order did end up running a bit late. They added in some fresh oil and bread to make up for it.

Karen M.

Yelp
Ok, so the reservation system can be complicated, and the wait can definitely be long. Call ahead and learn the rules, and you'll be fine. I will preface this review with the fact that I don't love pasta, but my daughter wanted to go. Even with a reservation, we had a bit of a wait. Everyone was very friendly and informed us during the wait. We were good. The hot Tom sauce (served with bread while You're waiting for your food to arrive) was VERY good. I would highly recommend this. The pasta dishes were fine. Were they AWESOME? Well, I don't love pasta, so they were fine. The Cosmo was their version w yuzu...It wasn't awesome, but it was decent. My takeaway is this: if you like pasta, you will like Pastabilities. Figure out the reservation system ahead of time (maybe a week?) and do that. The staff is great! Enjoy

Oshynne L.

Yelp
For a place that has over an hour of wait time to be seated, and has been recommended by Guy Fieri, I expected more. We actually grabbed a snack from home, ate there, and played a board game outside the restaurant (that we brought with us) before we were seated because of how long the quoted wait time was. The best thing we ate was the complimentary bread and hot tom; this set the expectation, and the entrees failed to meet it. Both the fried zucchini lasagna and the duck bacon flatbread pizza fell short. While the taste of both was great, the texture was what got in the way of eating more of it; we were sad to be leaving with most of our entrees because it meant that we would have to eat them later. The lasagna has very indistinct layering, and the flatbread was quite thick and chewy in terms of the crust as well as the amount of cheese on top. If you love cheese no matter the texture and amount, you might like these two dishes. Given how busy the restaurant is, there is a lot of chatter throughout from various people, and it seems like service struggles because of this. The service was okay at best, but understandable given how populated the restaurant was on a Friday night. I would likely not return to eat here, unless someone asked me personally to go.

Yelp
We had a reservation on a busy Friday night and were seated right away. The wait staff is very attentive. Bread wasbrought out with warm tomato sauce, the only thing that could've made it better was if the bread was warm too. we each got drinks, the waitress let us know that if we wanted one of the non-alcoholic drinks, they could add anything we want to it, they were very accommodating. Pasta was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Best pasta and sauce I have ever had not just in Syracuse but anywhere. I normally order the sauce from their website but having it at the restaurant tastes much better.

Yelp
Very busy night. Even with the busy time the food and service was Fantastic. Waitress was outstanding. Very friendly and very knowledgeable about the business. Living in Syracuse for 30 years and the first time having been there. Looking forward to many repeat visits.

Yelp
The Tom oil and bread to start was to die for. We got an incredible burrata with mango chutney, Thai chili, mint and spiced peaches and the pesto/alfredo Campanella pasta Fantastic. Justin was our server and was super friendly, knowledgeable and had a great vibe. We will be back! Note: The waitlist is no joke, we called at 4pm and were seated at 7:45.

Yelp
Was told not to miss this place while visiting Syracuse for International Jazz Festival. Why am I the last to know about Hot Tom Oil? Run don't walk to this restaurant and their bakery across the street. Loaded up on the HTO sold at bakery and then found out from reading a Food and Wine write up that Wegman's carries it. Pantry staple from now on. Thanks Maria for being a terrific server and for hooking us up with a stick of stretch bread!

Yelp
Pastabilities might be the most poppin' place in town. It seems to have the most reviews, the longest line, and even an online order could take over an hour. I was lucky enough to squeak an order in at the end of the day for pickup my last day in town. Because it was my last day, I went ahead and ordered two pastas to try two sauces. Both for science, and because I might be a pasta heather. I quite liked the Alfredo. One of my favorites actually. The sauce was tasty and consistency felt great mixed with the fresh cooked fettuccini. Their signature hot tomato sauce lost me a bit. It both didn't feel hot or plentiful enough. While the sauce was ok, it was hard to imagine it as a breakthrough fan favorite for any reason in particular. Felt a bit basic. When I am back in town, I'll have to come back around to try even more sauces and even more noods!

Yelp
HEAVEN. I wish they had this in my hometown city, my gosh it's SO FREAKING GOOD. If you'd like to eat here, plan ahead and make a reservation. On graduation week, we waited 3 1/2 hours for a 9:30 PM seating finally and it was worth it. We were seating and served bread and a tomato type marinara/oil - I wish I could buy it by the bottle it was amazing. One person at our table ordered a salad for themselves and it came out big enough to feed us all so we all ended up enjoying the Little Gem salad, also amazing. For dinner, I had the Broccoli, walnut, garlic oil pasta with the cone shaped noodle (can't remember the name) and added mushrooms. This pasta is perfectly simple. Wouldn't change a thing. The mushrooms were a complimentary addition and I didn't feel heavy and stuffed after eating it compared to a lot of pasta dishes. The portions are huge for everything. Like enough for 2-3 people. 10/10 amazing!!

Yelp
Phenomenal food. It has been over a decade since I was last at Pastabilities and I was worried it would not be the same. It was even better than my memory. I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes. The service here was really excellent. I love that you can purchase the Spicy Hot Tomato Oil. The restaurant is a great vibe also. Clean and trendy.

Yelp
Food was excellent - except the carbonara. The carbonara tasted like straight cream. Prob worst I've had. Other than that we loved the food & can't wait to return. Host staff, server, timing, overall cleanliness, table cleanliness, restrooms, 10/10. (Call ahead/wait list program sucks, never could get anyone on phone)

Yelp
I work around the corner and I was craving some pasta and a beer. So I stopped in the bar, and the bartender was super personable and knowledgeable. Grabbed an Italian Pilsner and on the menu I saw the duck bacon flatbread. The bartender talked it up and boy was he right! Even though I was thinking pasta and it's what brought me in, I always branched out when I see different proteins on a menu from the norms of just the standard four - poultry, beef, pork, fish. The flavor melded together so perfectly. The cheese with the Smokey flavor of the duck bacon, the fruit and fennel just pulled it all together. Whatever pan they fried it in, gives it more of a pizza crisp and crunch than a flatbread. I was told they only prep so many a day, if you're looking to try something different and elevated for the Syracuse area, this is it.

Yelp
Was in Syracuse for a college visit and did some research on where to go. Found that this place was on DDD so I thought we would give it a try. We were driving in from MA so with about 1.5 hours left in the drive I had my wife check out the menu and she found that you could put your name on the waitlist, so she did. Best move ever. By the time we arrived at the restaurant our table was ready. We sat down right away at a table right near the open kitchen. The entire staff was great. We talked to staff while they waited for orders to come up. Anyone that walked by filled our waters and asked if we needed anything. We ordered a couple of drinks, summer sangria was very refreshing and a Miami vice, which my wife thought was too strong, like that's a thing. Our meal came with complimentary spicy hot tomato oil and stretch bread. This is the greatest stuff ever. They give you a huge amount of bread and the tomato oil is so damn good you can't stop eating it. We also ordered the calamari and it was delicious, the coating on the calamari was perfect, a little peppery for my wife but she still ate a bunch of it. For dinner I had the shrimp and scallop scampi with house made pasta. It was so good. My wife and son split two entrees, chicken parm and chicken Alfredo. The chicken parm was really good, they both loved it. They both liked the Alfredo but thought the chicken parm was better. We had a great experience and if my son goes to Syracuse we will be going back.
