"One thing you would assume they’d nail at the stadiums is hoagies. You can get child-sized (like literally the size of a three-year-old child) buckets of fries and "ice cream from the future,” but it’s basically impossible to find a vendor that does a good Italian hoagie. While we petition the Philadelphia Stadium Board to open a decent sandwich shop in at least one of the arenas, save your appetite and head to Pastificio after the game. "Pastificio is a tiny market in South Philly where you can buy homemade pasta and other Italian goods, but they also have a deli counter that makes a really solid Italian hoagie (as well as a bunch of other sandwiches that aren’t bad either). Stop here on your way to or from a game at Citizens Bank Park for food that’s much better than the stadium hot dogs. I got the cheesesteak rice ball and cheesesteak raviolis. Everybody loves this place so I am going to complain. 1. I love bread pudding. They had a handmade sign; ‘New Item!! Homemade Bread Pudding.’ I got very excited and ordered the Bread pudding. They were sold out!! 2. I didn’t see my picture on the wall of fame. The Phanatic is on there twice. Granted we all love the Phanatic. But come on. Two of him/her/it and none of me?!?!? 3. I was racially profiled. They knew I wasn’t a south Philly Italian and gave me ketchup with my raviolis. I felt like Henry Hill at the end of Goodfellas, I’m a nobody. -sidebar- The raviolis were undercooked but that is okay. I found a new way to cook them. 1 minute in the microwave and 3 minutes in the Air Fryer. Video of air fried raviolis at end of review video. It was my 1st rice ball. I liked it. The raviolis (minus the ketchup) were very good.

I was gifted a selection of Pastificio products Cheese Ravioli, Meatballs, Italian Sausage and a quart of red sauce to assemble at home. Exquisitely prepared and ready for an easy dinner in minutes. The flavors brought me back to family meals made by my Great Grandmother and Great Aunts. The pasta itself is slightly thicker and denser than supermarket “ fresh” product with a wonderful texture and nuttiness, the ricotta is clearly a high quality cheese with a perfect consistency and moisture balance. Meatballs have a fine grain with a perfect balance of flavor. Italian sausages where cooked evenly, meat flavors forward and seasonings playing a solid support role. Red sauce is perfectly simple with a hint of acidity and natural sweetness, make it your own with herbs or simmering meats. The store is divinely scented , well organized, brightly lit, squeaky clean and staff are outgoing and friendly. Sandwiches here are always consistently delicious, and the cannoli fresh. Parking is plentiful too!

Stopped here before a sixers game, and I was not expecting to have SUCH a good hoagie. Always have to try one hot and one cold. The italian had a great variety of quality meats and had a perfect ratio of meat to toppings. The OMG cutlet was simple but tasty- we chose the grilled version and it was like a caprese salad in a hoagie. Would return for sure to try another style. Staff was awesome too, and prices were super reasonable.

Stopped in because it was the closest, open food place at 9am and needed a breakfast… deli it is. The tortellini salad is the best I’ve ever had!! And not just because I’m hungry. Perfect ratio of peppers, olives, cheese. I’ll definitely be back to try their sandwiches and Nutella-fried ravioli.

Been wanted to check Pastificio Deli for awhile now, so I decided to take a bike ride out there to finally check it out. The atmosphere inside the deli was great, very clean and organize with welcoming and friendly staff. I order an Italian hoagie and the cheesesteak ravioli, the Italian hoagie was great the seeded roll was bake to perfection one of the softest seeded roll I had in awhile. The cheesesteak ravioli with the Sriracha ketchup was outstanding, and to top it off they make homemade pasta as well 100% authentic. I definitely recommend checking Pastificio Deli out if your in the South Philly area, you would not be disappointed.

My decades-long love affair with Primos has sadly come to an end. I met Pastificio, and there's no going back. The selection, quality, service....all top notch. My husband and I are totally hooked on the Buffalo Chx Cutlet. Absolutely love Pastificio!

Great neighborhood Italian deli... only been there once, the Italian hoagie was true work of culinary art. My mates got a chicken parm, and i forget what the other two got, but they all raved. My new go-to game day stop. Looking forward to exploring this menu.
