"Pastis is another entry into Miami’s big-name NYC restaurant repertoire. But unlike some, it’s pretty good. The French spot is kind of a clone of its Manhattan counterparts—subway tile, walls meant to appear stained with decades of cigarette smoke, and great steak frites flying from the kitchen like chocolates in I Love Lucy. You can come here for a martini and cheeseburger at the bar, or a big celebratory group dinner if you’re patient enough to hunt for the reservation. Saturday nights are the only day of the week Pastis is hard to get into. This place is tight-lipped on when, exactly, its reservations go live. It doesn't specify on their Resy page, and when we've asked a host in person, we got very vague answers. However, there's a big bar (both inside and outside) that's first come, first served. Walk in on the earlier side, and you should be fine for a party of two" - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"This New York transplant is a great Wynwood option when you’re in the mood for a bouillon dining experience. Only instead of getting affordable versions of escargot and french onion soup, expect prices (and a sceney crowd) that feel more spiritually Miami. Still, the white-tiled interior and red wine leather booths set the scene for the kind of cliché French dinner we all need after a fringe and bob haircut. This place is great for dining solo, too. Sit at the bar and have a mini martini, a big cheeseburger, and pretend to light up a cigarette. Saturday nights are the only day of the week Pastis is hard to get into. "The cheeseburger à l’Américaine at Pastis is not only very good, but also an appropriate burger for a restaurant where so many people are concerned with looking attractive. It’s not drippy or greasy, and stays composed to the very last bite thanks to the sesame seed bun that holds the cheesy double patties and sliced onions in place very well. But the flavor of the charred beef is what comes through most in this burger. The french fry portion is also generous enough for your friends to steal as many as they like. "This import has quickly become a favorite among the established brunch crowd for offerings like quiche lorraine, a chicken palliard paired with salad, and more. Those in the mood to splurge can always go with a seafood tower, starting at $125." - Eater Staff
"You want to get the hell out of Miami and take a last-minute trip to New York or Paris. But you don’t have a private jet or even enough vacation days to make it to Epcot. What you do have is a singular day off and enough gas to get to Pastis in Wynwood. The French bistro is the fraternal twin of New York’s Pastis, except ours comes with an outdoor patio where you can drink a miniature martini and watch designer dogs beg for crispy fries. But if the weather is feeling swampy, head inside, rest your arms on the cold zinc bar, and make sure you finish lunch strong with profiteroles.
