PATH

"This casual restaurant is the brainchild of a chef and a pâtissier. Dinner is mostly prix fixe, fusing Japanese ingredients with fermented foods as well as spices from various countries. Catering to the local lifestyle, Path offers a selection of organic wines and is open from morning onwards. Music of no particular genre streams through the vintage interior themed on street culture." - Michelin Inspector

We got here 15min before opening and we’re 4th in line through their electronic waitlist they prepared outside. There was a line up that accumulated after us shortly. Once they called us we got in and sat at the bar. We were aware that it takes about 30min for them to prepare the Dutch pancake but with everyone ordering it as expected, the wait time for us was more like 45/50min. We did watch the cook diligently work on it as quick as she can but there were definitely patrons after us that waited longer. Once we got the pancake it was pretty good, like a sweet and savoury soufflé-like pancake with prosciutto nestled inside. It was pretty sizeable also and was really good with the provided maple syrup. I can’t say it was worth the wait but it was definitely good and worth the experience. Would recommend coming early for this one.

Arrived at 12:30pm Managed to get in within 15 mins and food served at 12:50pm I came without reservation coz I saw long queue of posts on XHS if u come here 7-9am peak hours . So I decided to come by just by luck , but luckily they took us in as last table . ( that day was heavy rain) Last order is 1 pm . Order : Cream salsiccia with scone Financier Homemade ham & Camembert sandwich Fuglen black coffee The food really taste good But if you ask me to bear with the crazy queue I think I will give up Service is ok. Communication abit hard . I stood at cashier for 3 mins and the staffs didn’t even bother me 🥴 until I need to speak “ halo ???” Then only they notice my existence.

Google
(BREAKFAST/BRUNCH menu): in Yoyogi Uehara is hugely popular for its weekend breakfast, especially the Dutch pancake. The café itself is cozy and the pancake was truly delicious, but be prepared: we joined the online queue at 8:30am and didn’t get seated until after noon. They do mention the pancake takes 30 minutes, but by 10am, new guests weren’t even allowed to line up. It’s a lovely and comforting meal, but with the long wait, high price, and pastries/other menu items selling out early, it might be best enjoyed once the hype dies down…or if you already have other plans in the area while the phone lets you informed about the queue.

The Dutch pancake is amazing! The food here overall is 👍🏻 good. The only thing I think can be improved is the coffee? From little nap and fuglen, they’re a bit too light (I tried fuglen in the shop nearby). Highly recommended! But please do get up early and get a queue tag to dine in early!

It’s really good. And the ambiance is cool and chic. I didn’t wait in line luckily, as I went right around 1pm (lunch goes until 2pm). Some of the baked goods they were sold out of at that time, but they were still serving Dutch pancakes, which is what I wanted. It was delicious, and I’m writing this review with a watering mouth. The prosciutto and burrata cheese just complimented each other so well, then the sweetness of the maple syrup just took it over the top. I had a pour over coffee also, with beans from a local coffee shop, that completed the meal. For me, it’s something I’ll come back for again and again.

I went on Sunday and arrived at 7:30 AM. I was 7th in line and walked in at around 8:30 We ordered 2 hot coffee (delicious, they are from some of the best cafe around and they did not disappoint) and 2 sandwiches. Food in terms of ingredients was really good! You could tell that everything was fresh and good quality. Service was a bit disappointing: everyone looked like they didn’t really want to be there (and the day had just started) and the service was pretty slow (it took around 20 minutes to get our food) considering that it was literally just putting together 2 slices of bread with cheese and ham inside. No grilled ingredients, nothing cooked. Since the number of people inside is controlled, I don’t really get it. The ambiance and interior design was pretty cool: I really liked the furniture and the cup and plates choice, I think it matches the whole vibe. Overall nothing special, it’s good if you manage to try it but I didn’t have anything groundbreaking that I couldn’t find somewhere else. If you are in the area and don’t have to wait, go for it. Otherwise, you are not missing out.

This is definitely the best French cuisine I have ever eaten in Tokyo. Every dish is full of surprises and flavors that leave a lasting impression on my mouth. I have visited three times this year and I look forward to visiting again next time.

It took 45 minutes wait on Thursday when I arrived at 8:15. When I finished eating there was already a very long line waiting outside the restaurant. You need to come early before the tickets run out. (Especially during weekends) The Dutch pancake tastes good but please finish it while it’s still hot or it may become a little bit greasy. I won’t recommend the sandwich since it’s so average that doesn’t worth the long wait. The coffees are good though.

Yelp
TLDR if I could only get one thing it would be a croissant (chocolate or not) fresh from the oven. Very reasonable wait after I arrived for breakfast around 8:30 on Saturday and added my name to the list. The staff set up a little heater outside for the line. Only the scones were sold out by the time I was seated. The staff was baking additional batches of croissants throughout my visit. Beautiful and comfortable space with vinyl records playing on the speakers. It's a wonderful spot for breakfast and the croissants are especially incredible. If you've got the extra time the Dutch pancake is worth the wait.

Yelp
When visiting Japan I was anticipating great food... sushi, ramen, gyoza, kaiseki, street foods, etc. essentially Japanese cuisine. What I wasn't expecting was the amazing international food scene from Italian to French, you name it and chances are the Japanese have mastered it. Path is no exception. If you were to judge a restaurant by it's menu, you may feel underwhelmed by the offerings but Path uses just a handful of quality ingredients to turn a simple item into something extraordinary. Case and point the Dutch pancake. This savory dish takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare but it is well worth the wait. The burrata is baked in the center of the pancake topped with thinly shaved prosciutto in a hot cast iron skillet. To counter the savory flavors maple syrup is served on the side which allows you to add just the perfect amount of sweetness to satisfy your palette. Other favorites you should try; the ham and Camembert sandwich. Yes essentially this is a ham and cheese sandwich but it will be the best ham and cheese sandwich you've ever eaten. While waiting for a table I was able to watch one of the cooks prepare the dough for pain au chocolat. He meticulously rolled out the dough, cut it into perfect rectangles and hand rolled two pieces of dark chocolate into each. I wish I could describe to you how it tasted but it was sold out by the time we were seated. I can only assume that they taste as good as they look!

Yelp
This was one of my first stops while on vacation. It was recommended by some stranger and they did not disappoint. I had the Dutch pancake and my friend stole most of it

Yelp
The best pastries I have tasted! The sandwich and croissant were delicious! Don't miss out on trying this place if you are visiting!

Yelp
I'm sure other things on their menu are also incredible, but we went here twice while on vacation and both times we got the dutch pancake. Do yourself a favor and do the same thing (at least on a first visit) because it is unbelievably delicious and savory. It's a small cafe and it can have quite a long wait if you go on the weekend or past "breakfast-hour" during the week, but it is absolutely worth it. There is seating at the bar that looks into the kitchen, so you can watch the cooks expertly handle their craft while you sip on some really excellent coffee, and there is fresh pastry being worked on all of the time. I'd walk 10 miles barefoot through broken glass just to get a smell of those fresh croissants baking in the oven again...

Yelp
This was one of our highlights in Tokyo. So good we went back twice. Path does European inspired cuisine with that perfect Japanese sensibility of highlighting the ingredients rather than masking them. From the dutch pancake with ricotta and cured ham to the croissants and kale salad, everything we had was fresh, not overtly heavy, and done very well. The local micro beer and biodynamic wine list were icing on the cake!

Yelp
Their dutch pancake is just amazing! Do yourself a favor and try their speciality dish at least once! It is so good that i must eat it everytime i visit tokyo. Although it is a small cafe, but their dish is exceptional, unique and definitely worth a visit

Yelp
We cannot recommend Path highly enough....every dish was cooked to perfection....the venue was cozy and nurturing...the owner was friendly and accommodating...a perfect way to spend our last evening in Tokyo.
