UPDATE: I stopped by after work to return the incorrect sandwich since they wouldn't do anything over the phone and the owner acted like a donkey. She said it was sad I complained over an incorrect sandwich, that was a mistake, and asked for my money back. That is completely unprofessional. When I told her this has happened more than once or twice she raised her voice. I never once raised my voice or said anything rude. With a smile on my face, I calmy asked for my money back. This woman is a joke. It's a shame a business owner won't address a customer concern. If I had a customer tell me that their orders were wrong more than they were right, I would take that concern seriously. This woman also is a flat out liar. Just look at how she responds to anyone that shares their bad experience. Very immature. And my day has been great, I had a beautiful walk through Downtown McKinney. Only bad part of my day was dealing with the witch of an owner at your restaurant. Bless your heart. I wish this place would get it together on making orders correctly. I order 1-3 sandwiches weekly "to go" and at least once a month we get a completely different sandwich. None of the sandwiches are special orders, we're just simply ordering off the menu. Today I called because the Poblano sandwich I expected to open ended up being turkey. I'm on my lunch break, so I can't just "run" back to Downtown Mckinney. The young woman that answered was rude, wouldn't let me complete my sentence, and said there was nothing she could do about it unless I came back. She wouldn't event get a manager on the phone. After I get off work I am going to return this uneaten sandwich and get my money back, since this is how they treat costumers and I'll go to Hugs cafe from now on. At Hugs the staff is much sweeter!

The sandwiches our entire group received were a little skimpy. It’s been a couple of months since we’ve been there, but it was disappointing to pay that much for such a light sandwich. I had the egg sandwich and it was delicious but there wasn’t enough egg to be distributed evenly to the outsides/edges of the bread… leaving a dry portion of a sandwich all the way around :(

My first visit was yesterday. Upon walking in, I couldn’t figure out how to order food, there were no menus anywhere. I saw one case that had some drinks and some sides and then there was one case that had premade sandwiches. I noticed that people were receiving orders, names were being called to pick up your order. So I asked the girl at the order desk if there was food to order or if I had to pick a sandwich from the case and she said pick a sandwich from the case. So then I ask her if I could have a sandwich made without bread, I’m gluten-free. She told me no the lady back in the prep kitchen told me there were salads at the end and to go get a salad. There was one salad option a small Caesar, but unfortunately, I have an egg allergy too. It was a bit frustrating and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make me a sandwich without bread. So my entire lunch was potato salad. I don’t ever expect places to accommodate my food needs, but when I see them making custom orders and then they refuse to make me one, or don’t offer me a menu, that is super frustrating. I won’t be going back.

Google
Awesome place! Takes you to a modern but old time general store feel. Atmosphere would win if the sandwiches weren’t so unique and delicious. If you’re like us and enjoy interesting takes on something as simple as a sandwich, then this is your place.

I'm not sure who had the better experience. My eyes or my stomach. Lol Patina Green checks all the boxes. Friendly service, fabulous atmosphere, and delightful tasty food. I ordered two sandwiches. I ordered the famous Ham and Cheese Sandwich and the Vegie Sandwich. Both were unique and savory. Each sandwiche came with an complimentary cookie. I have to admit, I enjoyed the cookie moreso than the sandwiches. Maybe I just had a curse of the sweet tooth that day. Lol If your ever in the area, Patina Green Home And Market is a must....

Google
Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, friendly people! Patina Green holds a special place in my heart! The Hickory Smoked Ham, Smoked Cheddar, Jalapeno Peach Jelly, Jalapeno Cheddar Sourdough sandwich is a little peace of heaven! If I had to pick a sandwich to eat for the rest of my life this is it! I like to describe it as a “ sweet, sassy, delicious, sandwich with an attitude!” Lol Simply, delicious! Chef’s kiss!

Google
Patina Green has the best soups and sandwiches. We stopped in on a rainy day and seriously loved the tomato soup. The complimentary cookie was delicious. The atmosphere is great, you must check out the clean and well decorated restroom. You can browse the shop for fun gifts or home decor before or after your meal.

Google
Do not place to go orders unless you check every single sandwich. Unfortunately after the 3rd incorrect order and their rudeness in which they address you when you confront them on there mistake I won't eat here ever again, not even if someone else is paying. The owner had a meltdown and yelled like a toddler when I returned with the wrong sandwich and asked for my money back. A poblano pepper sandwith and a turkey sandwich are not the same ma'am. I can't wait to see the unprofessional response from the owner, just look at how they talk to people that leave reviews on their bad experiences.

Yelp
I stopped by in the late afternoon for a sandwich after walking around downtown McKinney. They were already sold out of the sandwiches I was interested in, but the other sandwiches did not disappoint! (Sorry I can't remember the names). I also got their tomato bisque, which was also good. I loved that the market itself had unique items and local goods. Everything about the market was so homey and fun to explore. I'll definitely be returning to try the other sandwiches!

Monali D.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance and the food. It's a self service place where you order and wait to pick it up at the counter. The only thing I did not like was the two step process to place an order and then pay for the order in a different place. Other than that I like what this place has to offer. Really good sandwiches, they source their bread from Empire Baking company and all other ingredient sources are listed on their website. Clean, fresh and deliciously crafted sandwiches. I had their cauliflower sandwich and it lived up to the hype, so did the poblano cheese sandwich. Wish they had more drink options on the menu. Which reminds me of the beautiful Iced tea station they have to make your own glass. Loved it. Looking forward to trying their changing menu based on the season.

Yelp
Stopped by Patina today and will absolutely be back . A friend and I had lunch here and both grabbed a turkey Caesar sandwich ! So tasty and cute inside . They have a bunch of other fun local products to check out . I was a bit frazzled because I didn't realize just how much they had in there but I'm glad to know I have a reason to come back in . They have side salads and local eggs too ! As someone who doesn't eat pork, it definitely limits your options a bit - but all in all, absolutely worth checking out if you're looking for a delicious fresh sandwich.

Brenda R.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Old Town McKinney, Patina Green Home and Market is an absolute gem. This quaint shop perfectly blends charm with quality, offering an array of delightful homegoods and local items. From artisanal oils and honey to fresh fruit, the selection is both unique and impressive. But the real highlight for me was the food. Their sandwiches (BLT is my fave, but the turkey and pimiento is great as well) and the tomato bisque soup are nothing short of super delicious! Also love the complimentary cookie that comes with all sandwich. It was white chocolate and cranberry and it was the perfect sweet finish. The flavors are rich and the ingredients fresh, making every bite a pleasure. Whether you're looking for a cozy place to grab a bite or shop for some lovely local products, Patina Green House is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough!

Paula G.

Yelp
What can I say, I absolutely LOVE this place. Sandwiches are divine, great tasting tea and atmosphere can't be beat. I do wish their check out system was a little smoother, just a bit awkward ordering and then (practically) going into the gift area to pay. I've seen more than several customers get confused. ‍

Diana D.

Yelp
Love their concept! They have a store that has lots of cute stuff! Their sandwiches are very good and very reasonably priced ;) sandwiches also come with a cookie! Service was excellent! Great place to have a quick bite for lunch :)

Aricia R.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place more. Patina Green definitely has a special place in my heart. Aside from having the best sandwiches in the world (I don't mean that lightly) the service, ambiance, and culture is so warm and home-like. 10/10 all around!

Dee Ann H.

Yelp
Would definitely return to Patina Green! Daughter & I visited on a Friday and it was packed. Friendly & happy behind the counter kept the hungry horde from getting hostile. I had a Cuban & she had a hot ham & cheese. Both were perfectly toasted & well crafted. We tried each of the soups; tomato bisque & butternut squash, both were delicious. Chips & a cookie, bottled drinks or fresh iced tea rounded out an excellent lunch. We sat outside in the sun, and browsed the well curated collection of artisan items; hand made soaps, craft pasta, kitchen gadgets, etc. Next door was a sister shop with a much wider selection that I highly recommend.

Shane M.

Yelp
The service was good enough the ambiance I didn't really care for because it was a non stop traffic zone with people constantly running into each other and no where to really stand in peace while you're waiting for your food. The sandwiches were fine however I wouldn't return because it seemed like too much chaos for my enjoyment and there are other good sandwich places around with a much better floor plan for the customers.

Blaze Z.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place. The pictures of the sandwiches look amazing so the wife and I went down there and it was a huuuuugggggggeeee disappoint!!!! We walk in and the first thing that hit us was this super strong soap smells...like WTH did I walk into Bath and Bodyworks ???!!!! There was soap and smelly stuff all over the place. So you get through all the smelly stuff/area and you go to the counter and to the right of you is this small glass refrigerator area with pre-made sandwiches they made that morning...I was like WTF I thought this place was supposed be fresh not some sandwich made at 7am and they weren't even big sandwiches they were these little small sandwiches for like $15.. my wife and I were like NOPE...we be out! Never ever going back to this place EVER!!!

Beth M.

Yelp
It's a nice shop very Millennial with Beige and light grey tones. Pricing is normal for McKinney. Just stopped in for a tote bag to carry the record albums we bought at Red Zepplin.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in McKinney, TX HANDS DOWN! Stopped by yesterday for lunch with my mom and we absolutely loved our experience! The ham and cheese sandwich was full of so much flavor. After every single bite I was saying "THIS IS SO GOOD!!!" I also ordered the tomato bisque and I'm not even kidding, it is the best tomato bisque that I've ever had. I'm already craving another meal from here! I love how they also switch up their menu, I think that is awesome! GREAT place to grab lunch. P.S: my meal came with a free cookie and that MADE MY DAY!

Naz G.

Yelp
Tomato soup was so delicious and so was the chicken salad sandwich. They have a very cute store attached as well.

Andrea D.

Yelp
This is a great spot for a quick sandwich with a friend. Don't miss out on the cute bathroom too! Their home goods a great, but best for a thoughtful gift or a splurge.

Shenikwa F.

Yelp
I'm not even sure I should even review this "sandwich". Look at the picture attached to this review. LOOK AT IT. NOW LOOK AT IT AGAIN. Where... is.. the meat???? WHERE THE HECK IS IT? All I tasted was bread. Delicious bread. But just bread. This place has gentrified the sandwich. This is an "I Wish" sandwich. I wish they actually gave me some meat on my dang sandwich. The flavor of the "sandwich" was there, but it's not worth trying... Delicious bread and jam.. but with so little meat I WAS BASICALLY EATING TOAST. If you're a person of color don't eat here. You'll be served a $12+ "sandwich" with a single folded layer of meat surrounded by a sea of unseasoned white people eyeing you while you're trying to enjoy your... "meal" (aka a LIGHT SNACK) and quite frankly we've been through enough.

Michelle D.

Yelp
This was a neat little spot. The food was tasty and the service was great. The staff was very hospitable. I can't wait to come back.

Dawn R.

Yelp
The food and ambiance were great. We split the ham and cheese sandwich and had 2 bowls of the tomato bisque soup. The corn relish in the soup was a great addition. We will definitely be back. The only negative was price. One sandwich and 2 cups of soup was $26 (with tip).

Reed M.

Yelp
I am so glad that the Cuban is back! I haven't had anything from Patina Green that wasn't fresh and amazing. Everything is top notch. To top it off, one of my seasonal favorites is back and even better than I remember it. 5 stars -Reed

Heather R.

Yelp
I've been to this location two times. First time we had great service, food was good, etc. The second time I stopped in closer to closing time while showing my mom around downtown. We bought chocolates and asked to use their restroom since we are paying customers. The cashier informed me that it was closed because it had already been sanitized and the store was closing in 15min. I'm sorry, but I am a paying customer and it is still within your business hours and you're refusing me the right to use the restroom? I have also worked retail and would have been reprimanded by management for refusing a customer like that. I will not be back.

Samantha P.

Yelp
This is such a cute sandwich shop, a bit pricy for the size of the sandwiches. I came here about a year ago and the quantity of the sandwiches have significantly downsized. However, the flavors of the sandwiches are always top notch. I got the Mediterranean chicken salad and loved it. It was a bit of a long wait time as well, so for the lesser amount of food and the time it took to wait I'll give it a 4/5, very cute and very Texan.

Denise B.

Yelp
We are vegan and visiting from California. We ordered a grilled veggie sandwich on sourdough with Dijon mustard on sourdough. It was delicious! We also ordered their focaccia (also vegan) and they gave us three vegan cookies. The atmosphere is very charming and we love the location in downtown. We highly recommend coming here for a sandwich!

Kay W.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Lo try a of inside seating and some outdoor seating too.

Hanna R.

Yelp
10/10 ham cheddar and jalapeño jam sandwich is the bomb. Shenikwa down a couple reviews before me doesn't know what she's talking about. I wouldn't change anything about the sandwich. And it's huge and worth the price! Will be back.

Guy H.

Yelp
Visit before shelter in place. As recently as 20 years ago McKinney Texas was still a fairly sleepy little town in North Texas. Now its on fire or it was until a few days ago. My daughter had told me about how much she loved Patina Green a little sandwich shop she had found when moving to Mckinney. I had walked passed Patina many times without stopping because, I'm just not a sandwich guy. However, in the spirit of having lunch with my daughter, I went along. The shop is an interesting mix of grocery(minimal essentials like eggs etc), sandwich shop and gift shop. I really don't know how it works but it does. There were many people inside utilizing the entire offering when I was there. You step up to the counter and based on a display of premade sandwiches place your order. To be honest none of the choices are anything that turned me on so I just picked one. Rarely if ever do I give 4 stars to a place if I'm not 100 percent impressed by the food. I'm giving 4 stars here for the proprietor's business acumen. Obviously a success and I respect that. It's good for the community and so, good for me. Plus, my daughter likes it which goes a long way.

Ravi Teja K.

Yelp
One of the best sandwich I had in a while. Nice ambiance. Service was great. Ham Sandwich was to die for

Meredith L.

Yelp
I have been several times recently and watched the kitchen staff make the food. The guys don't seem very sanitary. They don't wear gloves while making sandwiches which is apparently acceptable in the food industry here. However I have recently seen them touch their phone and deeply scratch their faces/facial hair and go right back to handling soft cheeses for the food being prepped for the next day. The young man making cookies wiped his nose and returned to his dough handling. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing. Maybe other places do this too and I can't watch it happening. But my friend and I were totally grossed out.

Cat N.

Yelp
Eat and shop here if you can afford it Great place Eclectic and yummy and fun to look around

Elisabeth B.

Yelp
Surprised to discover that this carefully curated restaurant does not offer a non-dairy sandwich option. Apparently the sandwiches are made in the morning and served until they run out rather than made to order.

Tiffany J.

Yelp
Great ham sandwich! I was hoping there were a little bit more variety with sandwiches, but the attendant told me the ham sandwich was the state winner, so I said sure, even though I didn't feel like ham! It was delicious! A little pricey, but cute and great place!

Mattie A.

Yelp
Patina Green is incredible every time. My mom, sister, and I come here every time we visit McKinney, no questions asked. Ambiance is so beautiful, food is absolutely delicious, and staff is always friendly. 10/10 recommend visiting this spot.

Aricia R.

Yelp
Great service amazing food! The ambiance was so good and I would highly recommend this to anyone love coming here!

Monique M.

Yelp
This place is the BEST! I haven't tried anything I haven't liked. The tomato soup is amazing along with my favorite ham sandwich. The staff are all so nice. I highly recommend you stopping in and supporting this small business

Rachel R.

Yelp
I just stopped by and did my customary stocking up on sandwiches and salads for my long Friday night in the studio. Tonight is a cauliflower sandwich, a BLT for later and three great salads. Oh yeah! And a gluten free brownie to die for. Now I'm all ready for a productive night of open studio and painting!

Dan M.

Yelp
I try to limit my reviews on this app but holy smokes this place is amazing. I'd literally go back here for the bathroom alone. The ambiance is so unique here that they could probably serve me a boiled rock and I'd be absolutely fine with it. Haven't even had the food yet, so I just wanted to comment on the vibes. Update: you know the food is good when they cut your sandwich diagonally. Absolutely amazing meal.

Jess L.

Yelp
I'm not complaining but need to ask the broader public this question; does anyone else crave a sandwich, fat cup of tea, and a small bite of chocolate ALWAYS After 3pm, occasionally on Sunday ? I love y'all's place so much I'd stand at your store front & sing sad love songs for that occasional Sunday sandwich keep doing what you do.

Connie H.

Yelp
I love Patina Green! I came here as part of a walking food tour, in which I was served a drink and half of a grill cheese and ham sandwich. That sandwich had me coming back for more. That bread was no ordinary bread. It's laced with cheesy spicy goodness. Artisanal sandwich got me feeling a bit snotty and hipstery, but it's worth it. The decor is absolutely charming, and they carry that vibe into the bathroom. The rest of the place is a cute little shop in which you can buy some of the decor and unique artisanal jam, bread, soap, etc. As for the service, it's okay. It meets the bare minimal. They're not overly accommodating or helpful, but they'll get the job.

Dolores K.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. The sandwiches are top notch and they are some of the best sandwiches in town. My only complaint is the staff could be a bit nicer. They were a bit stuffy for a small shop. Otherwise, they are top place to go in McKinney square.

Donna L.

Yelp
The food and service is wonderful! This restaurant Is my FAVORITE lunch spot in McKinney. I eat here as OFTEN as I can!!!

CJ T.

Yelp
Yummy salads - just finished these beets and want more. Cute place on the square here in downtown McKinney. They have yummy cookies and chocolates and several different sandwiches

Nini D.

Yelp
Ate here yesterday and could not stop thinking about that ham sandwich. So good paired with the tomato bisque. This restaurant is so charming and the staff was so sweet. Open kitchen concept and the chefs work their tails off to get the food to you hot and fresh. Whoever gave the bad review talking about a gentrified sandwich and being ignored as a POC must have been having a really bad day to take it out on this sweet shop. The sandwiches are literally displayed cold in a case which you pick and they press to order. The advertisement photo of the ham sandwich shows the 3 layers of ham per sandwich. If you wanted a meatier bite, you could have avoided the sandwich all together. Imo... not that it matters but being a non white, I felt very welcome here. Not a budget friendly spot but I got what I paid for. The jalapeño jelly that mingles with the cheese during grilling made the salty ham heavenly. I can't wait to taste again.

Gabrielle R.

Yelp
Patina is where you want to go for not just a sandwich or salad- THE BEST SANDWICHES or micro green salads EVER! They only use the very best ingredients, everything is always super fresh and delicious- very select menu and a little pricey but SO WORTH IT! You definitely get what you pay for here! Patina's never disappoints! Mine and my best friends forever Go-To and I could go on and on- LOVE this place!! Also the ambiance and music is poppin :)

Rheanna A.

Yelp
I was really torn with how many stars to give this place. My first visit was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the sandwich was phenomenal. The ham and cheese was the perfect combo of sweet and salty with just a little bit of heat. The shop and aesthetic is so adorable. The second visit wasn't nearly as great. The girl at the counter was on her phone the whole time and outrageously rude so we left.

Leonard S.

Yelp
Overall a positive experience. Nice good looking restaurant. We had sandwiches and everything was great . Staff friendly and very accommodating. My niece is autistic and they were great . First time here but will certainly be back

Marie T.

Yelp
For Friday lunch, my husband and I got a variety of items: BoB (smoked cheddar biscuit with brisket and jam - a Friday only special), cauliflower salad sandwich, tomato soup, summer squash focaccia bread, and the nO.G brownie. With my order, they threw in a few warm chocolate chip cookies, which I totally appreciated and enjoyed! The BoB, while beautiful and also the main reason for my visit, wasn't something I would order again. The brisket and the biscuit didn't really stand out. Maybe the brisket overpowered the biscuit? Perhaps next time I try the biscuit by itself to fully appreciate the smoky cheddar. The other items were just extra items to add to our lunch, but they ended up being the highlights. The cauliflower sandwich looked very innocent but it packed a lot of flavor. It was similar to a chicken salad sandwich and it is definitely deserving of an encore. The tomato soup and the focaccia bread together were simple but very delicious. I would order these two again as well. The same idea also applied to the sweets: I didn't enjoy the brownie that I ordered as much as I thought I would, but I loved the cookies. The brownie had a little too much flaky sea salt to truly enjoy the cocoa flavor. I did really enjoy the chocolate chip cookies, which looked like a sugar cookie at first (chips were hidden!). I hope the cookies show up on the menu in the future because I would love to order these in my next visit. The restaurant is located in Downtown McKinney. I didn't get a chance to visit inside as COVID-19 restrictions were set in place, but I was able to enjoy my sandwich on their outdoor patio. Also the restaurant also doubles as a local goods shop, which looked like it had many neat and unique finds inside. Overall, this was a good place to check out in DT McKinney. I would love to come again for more food items and also shop in their store when we are able to do so!

Alice S.

Yelp
I'm sitting here getting my hair highlighted and was starving . My amazing hairdresser said she was going to pick up some food for her while I'm am processing and offered to get me something. Wow she did and I loved it . Beat pimento cheese I've ever had . Home made she said . Also, there was the feasted veggies . Cauliflower, carrots and not sure what else , but was yummy and I ate it quick . I will be back. The was about $5 and well worth it . I will be back for one of their sandwiches that I have been rasin

Rabi R.

Yelp
Food is overpriced, and not many options are available without pork, the cauliflower sandwich is decent. The rest of the things in the store are interesting (I have not bought), it smells nice when you walk past/go in.

Julia A.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Patina Green! I causally strolled in while shopping the square about three years ago and after ordering a sandwich with their home made pimento cheese on top I was hooked! This is now the place we love to take our out of town guests to and it is always a hit! Don't let the unique flavor combos intimidate you.. literally everything is amazing! My husband and I go every second Saturday for their taco pop up shop every month! We always have the best food and we look forward to it every single time. I even came in when I was 9 days overdue with my son because I just had to have it

Michael O.

Yelp
I tried this place once before taking my wife on a lunch date. It's a really neat place with good food. I'd try it again for sure.

Madison C.

Yelp
Patina Green's sandwiches simply cannot be beat. I just ate mine cold, leftover from a few hours ago and it's STILL the best sandwich I've had this year. So many custom jams, creative ingredients, delicious bread, soft cheeses - this is not your mustard and mayo with turkey on white bread kind of place. This is the kind of place you come to if you want to blow your tastebuds away. They know what they're doing. As an added bonus, it's an awesome environment, local goods and produce, all the good stuff, etc. But seriously, these sandwiches.
