For Friday lunch, my husband and I got a variety of items: BoB (smoked cheddar biscuit with brisket and jam - a Friday only special), cauliflower salad sandwich, tomato soup, summer squash focaccia bread, and the nO.G brownie. With my order, they threw in a few warm chocolate chip cookies, which I totally appreciated and enjoyed!
The BoB, while beautiful and also the main reason for my visit, wasn't something I would order again. The brisket and the biscuit didn't really stand out. Maybe the brisket overpowered the biscuit? Perhaps next time I try the biscuit by itself to fully appreciate the smoky cheddar. The other items were just extra items to add to our lunch, but they ended up being the highlights. The cauliflower sandwich looked very innocent but it packed a lot of flavor. It was similar to a chicken salad sandwich and it is definitely deserving of an encore. The tomato soup and the focaccia bread together were simple but very delicious. I would order these two again as well.
The same idea also applied to the sweets: I didn't enjoy the brownie that I ordered as much as I thought I would, but I loved the cookies. The brownie had a little too much flaky sea salt to truly enjoy the cocoa flavor. I did really enjoy the chocolate chip cookies, which looked like a sugar cookie at first (chips were hidden!). I hope the cookies show up on the menu in the future because I would love to order these in my next visit.
The restaurant is located in Downtown McKinney. I didn't get a chance to visit inside as COVID-19 restrictions were set in place, but I was able to enjoy my sandwich on their outdoor patio. Also the restaurant also doubles as a local goods shop, which looked like it had many neat and unique finds inside.
Overall, this was a good place to check out in DT McKinney. I would love to come again for more food items and also shop in their store when we are able to do so!
