The 16 Best Bakeries in O‘ahu | Eater

"Here you’ll find Japanese cakes, airy, delicate, and less sweet than their Western counterparts. Best-sellers include the quintessential Japanese strawberry shortcake — layers of sponge cake, whipped cream, fresh strawberries — and Mont Blanc, a chestnut-whipped-cream dome over a center of chestnut paste atop an almond sponge cake. But one cannot live on cake alone. The croissant sandwiches and jelly drinks are also terrific." - Martha Cheng

I’ve bought many cakes from La Palme D’Or and they’ve all been great! This bakery really has DELICIOUS cakes. The flavors are so delicate and refined. I was happy to find cakes that aren’t just loaded with sugar and butter. Recently they were even able to accommodate a custom birthday cake, the day before Mother’s Day. At the birthday, everyone loved the gluten-free chocolate cake. And the strawberry shortcake for Mother’s Day was a big hit! Everyone asked where I got it from. A few said it was the best cake they ever had. The young lady that helped me was very kind and patient.

Google
Thrilled with this stunning & delicious cake that made my birthday so incredibly special! We ordered the Mille Crepe — coconut cream in between layers of crêpes with mango, lilikoi, and banana jam on a sponge cake. Such a light and refreshing dessert. So grateful they use only the most pure, high-quality ingredients! It was a delight to work with Hiromi and her team; they run their business with excellence, ensure seamless ordering and pickup, and joyfully handle all questions and requests. Upon pickup we were excited to purchase a few additional gourmet treats in the bakery. So glad to have discovered this beautiful shop!

I come here for my favorite cheesecake, strawberry shortcake & tiramisu. Every year. I come here for a special birthday cake for my daughter. This place is very special.

Google
Idk what happened to this place. Previously the strawberry shortcake had three layers of berries and 3 layers of chiffon with a vanilla cream. Now it’s flavorless cream, barely any strawberries, and the chiffon cake I swear to god is milk bread. It’s so dry it takes the moisture from your mouth. The ladies that work there are smiley and kind still but this place really isn’t even close to the best bakery on the island.

Google
Nice store with great cake options. The strawberry short cake filling is just right. It's ideal to those who don't like super sweet cakes. Prices are not cheap compared to other bakeries, especially the custom or Birthday cakes. It's worth a try or treat your loved ones once in a while. Phone line can be busy. Had to call multiple times to get someone on the line.

Google
Got a custom cake and they were fantastic about it! I was able to place an order just 2 days ahead and I’m so grateful. It was so cute too! Not too sweet, definitely a Japanese-style cake - and the strawberries were so fresh and tasty!

Google
Great pastries, desserts cakes, food, drinks, you name it they got it. I come here to get my birthday cakes everytime!!

Google
Very popular patisserie at Alamoana center. (Entrance facing Parking near the Lanai food court ) Besides pastries and cakes, they have good selection of hot and cold drinks menu. Go early….but not too early. I missed out on their strawberry shortcakes at 2pm on Friday. If you have something specific to try, go earlier. And it seems to be based on your luck as well, since not everything are available at the time of the opening. I like their cake because it is not too sweet. It is very close to what you can expect outside of Paris or Tokyo.

Yelp
We have been buying our celebration pastries and for our desserts only at La Lame F' Or Patisserie since they have opened. My son's wedding my daughter-in-law ordered their wedding cake and fantastic dessert for their reception that I totally loved and other guests as well! I highly recommend their patisserie pleasant desserts for any occasion one might want! Our only grandkids are overseas so on their birthdays we buy their cake to celebrate via LINE! It's their pleasure as well as ours to see our grandkids happy seeing their decorative cake or at times we buy few pieces to place separately with their candles we buy! They will write on a piece of block chocolate Happy Birthday placed nicely on top of cake or otherwise. Once again I highly recommend their delicious cake they make with special care! I'm sorry we were so happy with ourHappy Birthday display that we celebrated with our FaceTime greetings take photos!

Yelp
My go to place for cupcakes that used to be in Kakaako closed, so I came here to buy something for my co worker's birthday (against my better judgement). I've been here a long time ago and remember them being very mediocre. I told the worker I'll be ordering two slices and asked if I can have two boxes since it's going to two separate people, to which she agreed. To my surprise, I was handed the cakes in these take out containers. Seriously? She knew it was a gift. I really should've said something, and I regret not speaking up cause I was embarrassed to gift this. I apologized to my co worker that it was in such an ugly container. I ended up eating the strawberry one, and it was absolutely not worth $8. This place is seriously overpriced and I'm surprised they're still in business.

Yelp
This place could easily be a 4-star spot if the service was better. I really love the pastries -- they're delicious -- but the service is honestly pretty bad. If I'm in the mall and craving something sweet, I'll stop by because it's convenient. Otherwise, I'd rather go somewhere else. I'm not sure what it is, but the staff often come across with a bit of a snotty attitude, like they don't really want to be there.

Yelp
Beautiful and delightful!!! My mom and all of us loved this strawberry shortcake. Fresh fruit, light, and not too sweet.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Love these little desserts. Not super sweet and taste is very light. Service is always good and employees are patient, especially when I can't decide and scan the display case over and over. Lol. Cost is pricey, so be prepared to spend at least $6-$8 a piece.

Yelp
Finally decided to buy something to try because we're going to our friends' house for dinner. Been passing this place many times. It definitely looks a bit fancy from the outside, and when we walked in, the price tags were also fancy lol. But everything looked so good, and we got a good excuse to splurge a little. Everything we picked out was enjoyable including the Ube cake, mango lilikoi mousse cake, dark chocolate mousse, black sesame mousse cake and their berry panna cotta. I like how their cakes are all spongey and moist, and the cream is soft and airy. Really, the one thing I just don't like is the ridiculous price. A small piece on average costs $7... im just not sure about that. The Taiwanese bakery nearby also offers some delicious pastries for a much more reasonable price! Not sure if I'd come back again but I'm so glad I tried it.

Yelp
Birthday cake from Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii... La Palme D'Or = The Golden Palm It's an award given to the Director of the Best film at the Cannes Film Festival. This means that the pastry shop with this name must have goods of the highest quality, right? Let's check them out... I had never been to La Palme D'Or Patisserie before, but I have passed it many times since it's next to The Lanai Food Court on the Mall Level, near Macy's on the Mauka (mountain) side. I saw the picture menu of the beverages in the window... wow... such a variety! I also learned that they serve pasta, salads, and sandwiches! I should return for those! This time, my goal was to secure a Strawberry Shortcake to serve after dinner. I chose the one with the chocolate drippings on the edge of the cake. I asked if the cake could be personalized... yes! I asked if they could hold it for me for about an hour while I walked around the mall... no problem! I just had to leave my phone number. Okay! They offered me a bag for a small price, but I thought I could manage without. Our dinner restaurant was about ten minutes away. They held it in their refrigerator while we ate. When the cake was served, everyone enjoyed the fresh berries, light, fluffy texture, and the not too sweet flavor! Thank you for this excellent cake!

Yelp
I love the matcha cake here. It's a small cafe with a clean interior. I've requested it for a few birthdays before and it tastes wonderful each time. The matcha cream is very prominent yet not overpowering, it's the perfect amount of sweet, and the glaze adds a nice addition of light tart flavor when you take a bite. I'm just a little sad that for this birthday, my fiance planned a huge surprise party with all my friends and family, and purchased a large matcha cake (which has quite a price to it), and they spelt my name wrong! He told them over the phone that my name is Kendra, and spelt it out to them as well. He had a friend pick it up since it was a surprise, so he wasn't able to personally check it. I wish the workers would've known that there's no way anyone would be named "kenBra"... or at least they could've asked if it sounded strange to them, you know? It did give us all a laugh so it's not that big of a deal, but I do feel bad that my fiancé purchased such a large cake this year and they didn't spell my name right. I imagine that if this happened to others, it could pose problems for them as well for a product they're spending their money on, so hopefully the workers will be more cautious with that

Yelp
I made an online order for a birthday cake. While the process was quick and easy, I would say the cakes flavor was a bit lacking. The only sweetness was the fruits, the cream and cake were overall unsweetened. Which is normally something I enjoy, when my deserts aren't too sweet but this was a bit too... "bland" for lack of a better word. Other than that it was a gorgeous cake, very picture worthy.

Yelp
Cute little French pastry shop in the ala Moana mall. Had a pear almond tart and it was very good. All other options looked amazing and a friend said that the chocolate dome tart was amazing too. Definitely a place to try!
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I bought a variety of desserts and they were all fantastic. Ube Mont Blanc had a good ube flavor. The strawberry shortcake was great. The crust of the strawberry tart was very light and buttery. The best dessert was the Tropical Fromage with the lilikoi mousse. The only disappointment was the lilikoi turnover which really had no lilikoi flavor. The turnover crust was flaky though.
google avatar

Yelp
The cheesecake is so delicious! I don't have a sweet tooth, but I had to hold myself back from devouring the entire thing. Also had the green tea cake which was also amazing, but its not as delicious as the cheesecake. My friend brought it to the gathering we had so that was a big mistake on him lol because I'm going to ask for it every time!!
google avatar

Sandy Q.

Yelp
I walked in with my daughter and wanted to purchase a few slices of cake. We ended up with the strawberry shortcake with mixed berries and the chocolate swiss cake. Both cakes were not eaten until a few hours later but was left in the refrigerator while we ate dinner. By the time we were ready to eat them, the fruit that was on top of the strawberry shortcake did not look fresh nor did it taste fresh. The cake and the cream were bland. For a dessert item, I was expecting at least a little bit of sweetness. As for the chocolate swiss cake, it did look dry on the surface but the flavor was good. It had the right amount of cocoa flavor and the cake was moist.

Yelp
Disappointed in my recent experience. I love their panna cotta, hands down. But last Saturday, picked up an order around lunch and was told "oh, make sure you don't tip the box, because it may leak or spill". Open up the box at the end of the night after dinner to find a set panna cotta but with a watery almost syrup like "gelatin" on top. Disappointed that they would still serve under quality dessert knowingly and charging full price for it. Also got the mango and raspberry panna cotta and same quality. Top was runny and not set. Quality is just not the same like before.

Yelp
Taste: good, not too sweet, the strawberry is fresh and adequate Service: amazing, I make a mistake below, but they change it for me in 15 minutes. HIGHLY recommend this cake store!!! Notice: don't order from Yelp, they use random photos for the cake and u can't choose the design of the cake. If want to order the cake, check out their website and CONTACT THEM WITH EMAIL

Lokelani O.

Yelp
The cashier was nice and friendly, but upon receiving this cake and order the cakes from the past this one was the worst one. They didn't really try to fix it and and on top of that it looked rushed and sloppy. This first cake was the current one and the second one was the one i ordered a year ago.
google avatar

Yelp
When I need to find a special sweet, La Palme D' Or Patisserie is one of my top 3 places to go. Shortcake in any fruit flavor would be my pic. The cake itself is fluffy and light. The fruit is gelled to the point of soft and jiggly. You can get a white or dark chocolate banner if you want to insert a special message. The banner though costs $ extra. They also have giant croissants, almond croissant to be exact. $6 but you can serve possibly 3 people with the size of this croissant. If you enjoy red wine, then get their chocolate truffle to chase your nice red wine. They also have jellies and jams which make excellent gifts. Parking might be an issue after all, they are located on the mall mauka side.... This place lends to my statement and belief that "you get what you pay for" and what you get here is worth every dollar!
google avatar

Yelp
The tuna salad croissant sandwich tasted divine and healthy at the same time, and way better than it looks (I thought it looked dry initially). I think they touch the food with the same gloves as the money and also from one customer to the next. Kind of gross.
google avatar

Yelp
My mommy & I loved our beautiful birthday cakes! (I bought hers on her birthday and she got me one on mine.) The cakes themselves were very light and fluffy! The fruit was fresh and sweet. It's hard to just have one slice! The cashier made the purchasing/ordering process very easy. We'll definitely be back in the near future!

Yelp
Expensive but totally worth it!!! Got two desserts pumpkin basque and a chocolate parfait cup Onolicious what a treat!!! I always come too late and miss the good stuff. I was parked close by and saw the bakery and had to go got tempted and it was really good. Really nice setup and great customer service. Everything is beautiful and the dessert is like artwork. Lots of love in their baking special treats. Arigato lol. Definitely worth the prices.

Yelp
I haven't tried this bakery until this month. I can't believe I've been missing out on this Asian bakery this whole time. Someone got me a few pieces of the individual cake pieces and it was divine. I loved it so much that I ordered the hubby's birthday cake here later in the month. The individual pieces that I was gifted were the lemon meringue tart, raspberry cream, and chestnut cake. They were all good, but my fave was the chestnut cake. It was a winner. The strawberry shortcake that I got my hubby for his birthday was also delicious. Everyone loved it, especially my son who doesn't usually go for these Asian fruit cakes. He's more of a red velvet cake person.

Yelp
Favorite chocolate cake ever and it's gluten free. You'd never know by how good it is. The palm chocolate cake is amazing. For an extra few dollars they can add berries. It's very pretty but I prefer the plain one with the cream and chocolate pieces on top. If you order in advance they'll add an extra chocolate piece with writing on it for free. If you do it same day there is a charge for it. Holidays can get really crowded and sometimes require you to have ordered and paid ahead. For some holidays it's limited selections too so just call ahead. I usually call my orders in and pay over the phone and they can text you your receipt right away. This is my go to for this chocolate cake. They may still do something like 4 people in the store at a time. Just read the signs.

Yelp
One of my go-to places for cake on Oahu! I love La Palme D'Or's French-style Japanese cakes. They are so delicately made and so light and fluffy! Today, I just opted for a coffee jelly drink with soymilk ($6.80). Soymilk cost me an additional 50¢. The coffee jelly is delicious, not bitter or too sweet. The perfect balance with the semi-sweet soymilk. The workers help you at the counter. There is no place to sit as it is a very small bakery. However, since it is located in Ala Moana, there are lots of places outside in the mall to enjoy your treats.
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
Such elegant desserts! Love that they have a variety of gluten free options, too. The crème Brûlée (gf) was soooo good. I also enjoyed the chocolate truffle. It's really rich and made with dark chocolate (just how I like it) so it is perfect for the chocolate lovers! So many fun desserts to choose from, single serve and large cakes.
google avatar

Lanette W.

Yelp
For years this has been my favorite bakery on Oahu. I bought their cakes and pastries for special events and told everyone " this is the only bakery where the food tastes better than it looks" and as everyone knew they had beautiful pastries. However somewhere along the line over the past maybe 6-12'months they have been making changes. They make limited type of cakes / tarts ( no More large pear tarts) and seem to be making more lunch items like these croissant sandwiches. And the deserts have suffered immensely. I bought a cake there in September and bought and almond croissant to eat immediately. It was definitely not fresh and tasted stale. On Veterans Day I called the day before and asked if they were open and they said they would be . I drove all the way from Kaneohe for some pastries to take to a party. I wanted their fruit covered tarts. When the nice young man pulled them from the case the fruit looked old the definitely weren't made that day and who knows maybe not even the day before. And you know what ? This inferior quality is still 6.50 to 8.50 each. Very sad this used to be a great bakery.

Yelp
Delicious and delicate desserts. Courteous customer service. Conveniently located near Macy's

Teresa T.

Yelp
We made an order for the Tropical Fromage Cake and Strawberry Shortcake. Both were great, but the Fromage was a big hit and favorite among all of our guests. I also ordered some almond croissants from here, which were amazing, and I have eaten many croissants. Definitely recommend omens this place. Also, the large cakes came very well packaged in a sturdy paper bag which was a lifesaver.

C F.

Yelp
This strawberry shortcake is terrible. Cake is dry and too sweet. I ordered it yesterday and picked up today. This cake tasted like at least three days old. Terrible! Will never go back there again. If I could , I would give a zero.

Yelp
In my 10 day long stay on Oahu, I must've come to this place at least 4/5 times. The coffee jelly here is the best I've ever had in my life. I've tried multitudes of coffee jelly throughout the USA, and I've never found one that tastes as sweet and light as the one at La Palme D'or. Additionally, I am lactose intolerant but everytime I had the coffee jelly with whole milk, my stomach NEVER hurt afterwards. In addition to the coffee jelly, the pastries here are amazing. We had the pave chocolat, lilikoi turnover, and milk pudding - all amazing. The pave chocolat is so light and made without any flour, and is very dense. The cream is also solid surprisingly - both the cake and cream are lightly sweetened, not too much and have a nice texture that I really like. The milk pudding was same, not too sweet and pretty dense until you add the caramel at the bottom. It also comes in a very cute reusable glass cup. The lilikoi turnover was very flaky and very fresh, and had a great crisp to it. Additionally, the workers here are super nice. The pastries are made fresh everyday and the cakes made to order each day are always on display. I really wish this place had more locations in the USA, but this is definitely one of the reasons why I enjoy going back to Oahu!

Kathie S.

Yelp
Love this place! I've been going here for the past couple months. The pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and drinks are delicious and never fail to disappoint. You can get a message plate on both the cakes and individual pastries for $3, but if you pre order before hand there is no charge. Another thing is the customer service. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I went on a busy saturday last week and there was only one worker in the front. You can tell she was stressed but she did an amazing job catering to everybody. Super patient and kind even to difficult customers. I think that is on management's part, I hope someone came in to help her or that they can get more people working.

Lehua R.

Yelp
Today was about just before three pm I tried to order a itailan soda stupid cashier charge me $14 . When the door on the outside side Said 4.95 What a ripped off.

Yelp
Love, love, love their strawberry shortcake cake! I usually order it on my birthday every year! So delicious. Super light, not too sweet, just right. Since I've been ordering this cake for the past 4 years, customer service has always be great. Employees have always been so kind and helpful. I highly would recommend this place if you're looking for a strawberry shortcake cake!

Rita K.

Yelp
Went in the store last minute for a birthday cake. Easily switched out the Happy Valentine's decoration. Best part - cake was delicious!

Yukari A.

Yelp
The store is so lovely and the staffs are amazing and thoughtful! It is a shame that I have to give it a one star review because of a certain someone(the manager). Every time I entered the store, it gets absolutely ruined by their presence. The manager would constantly berate the staffs over the littlest things in front of paying customers! It's so bad that it made the whole entire environment toxic. It just makes me wonder if they even know how to manage. Like, why do this in front of people? Why constantly scold them when you can just teach them in the right way? I wish I can give this a -1 review, from the looks of it, the management is just god awful.
google avatar

Vivian K.

Yelp
I used to love this place & they've been going downhill... I decided to give it ONE MORE CHANCE because I needed a last minute cake BUT HOW DISAPPOINTING!!! I got the cake as a birthday gift and I was so embarrassed to bring this garbage... -__-" Taste: 1/10 The cake was DRY AGAIN & the fruits were not fresh. The strawberries in the cake were also mushy!! Price: 1/10 $60 for a 7inch cake, had to add $1 for "happy birthday. If the cake were actually good, I wouldn't mind but I probably could've gotten this cake from Safeway for $12 lol Service: 1/10 No one was even in the store & I waited outside by myself for about 5min with no one acknowledging me. They were all just talking & laughing in the back.
google avatar

Travis N.

Yelp
Always tasty but they run out of things quickly. Managed to get the milk pudding I hadn't had before. My favorite is the panna cotta, but the creme caramel is also good. The creme is more western style, while the milk pudding is in the Japanese style. The creme is in a disposable plastic, while the pudding is in a reusable glass. The shape of the glass does make it a little hard to get all the pudding, but if you like reusable cute jars, that may influence your choice. The glass is chilled so it does sweat some.
google avatar

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
I was glad to be here because I like patisserie. I can't eat it often, but I like to look at it. It reminds me of my jaunts to cute little places in Europe. But I saw this place and had to see what they had. I was shocked to see that they had two gluten free desserts. The tiramisu and a panna cotta. The tiramisu was really good. It didn't have lady fingers but a chocolate cake. But it was tiny for $6.25/$6.95. But worth a try. I had the panna cotta which cost the same and was tiny. It had a weird texture and was OK. But nothing special. I probably wouldn't go back, but I appreciate the experience.
google avatar

Tokiko N.

Yelp
The owner is the sweetest, caring lady ever and tried so hard to make things right. One of my panna cottas spilled the lilikoi sauce all over my box, and I was so disappointed as their items are expensive and I did not get my full moneys worth. I relayed that she should secure all deserts firmly while packing them so they don't tip over. She empathized with me and apologized. She then gave me another delicious panna cotta as well as a brownie loaf, chocolate almonds and cookies. She went the full extra mile to make things right and texted me to ask me whether I was satisfied. Excellent customer service and a very ethical business woman.
google avatar

Wesley T.

Yelp
I've passed by this shop countless times and have bought some rich goodies for my wife occasionally, but I have never purchased a croissant sandwich that I always admire until now. They make very few of these a day and today they had tuna, egg salad and bacon sandwiches. I brought it home right away and then I noticed that it was a whole wheat croissant, never saw that before but it was delicious. The croissant was the star, it was airy, buttery and slightly crispy. I bought a tuna sandwich and the lettuce, tomato and cucumbers tasted very fresh. The tuna salad could have been a little more flavorful with a little seasoning but it was a very good sandwich and I will be returning. BTW, the sandwich was only $6.50.

Yelp
Worst service I have ever received from a Japanese establishment. It such a shame. Such careless service and overlooked errors for a cake I paid almost $80 for. UPDATE: CAKE WAS BURNT INSIDE. WOW. Situation: I preorder a cake way ahead of pick up time and even asked if it was okay/no issues would arise. The woman assured me it would be fine. This woman got everything wrong. My credit card number, my phone #, the order... 1. They were late to give me my cake, I arrived ON TIME and they had me wait because they were still preparing it. I walked in at 4 (order time) and left the store at 4:25 (now I'm late to my brothers birthday party) 2. They got the order wrong... they made the wrong cake altogether. I ORDERED a MULTIPLE fruit topped strawberry shortcake cake (of which I VERIFIED with the woman I was on the call with, JUST TO BE SURE it comes out exactly as I've ordered.) I got a regular strawberry cake. 3. HERE'S WHAT UPSET ME- The cashier first offered to correct the situation and told me to wait AGAIN so they could add the fruit I ordered (WHICH WAS ON THE ORDER SHEET/MY RECEIPT) and so I agreed. THEN they tell me I have to pay extra after I already waited FOR SO LONG. FINALLY- THEY DID NOT RECTIFY THE SITUATION AT ALL, THEN ... THEY went out of their way to even ask to CHARGE me for their mistake and I WAITED ALMOST 30 minutes for my cake... I am extremely disappointed in this establishment, especially one that is supposed to represent Japanese values. I had no choice but to pay for it, it was not returnable and what was I supposed to do?? Come empty handed to my baby brothers birthday? I do not recommend this place to friend and family.

Yelp
Great pastries, which is an understatement. The strawberry shortcake is my favorite Don't forget the coffee jello, delicious. Stopped by for a quick snack and got their egg Salad. Pretty tasty in their buttery croissant. They do rotate their confections so you'll need to check what's in season.

Hiromi A.

Yelp
strawberry short cake has been dry side. sponge was not moist enough. I like the flavor and sweetness of cream though
google avatar

Reina C.

Yelp
Paid $58 for cake, $3 for the writing and $1.25 for candle. Costing that much for everything, I didn't bother checking inside the box. After dinner and about to sing happy birthday to my sister with a bunch of guests, candles were nowhere to be found. Mousse chocolate was good but I don't think I'll ever come back and spend that much on a 7" cake again.
google avatar

W L.

Yelp
This place used to be one of my favorites. As others mentioned, prices went up and quality went way down. Matcha roll cake tasted like days old. I saw some small cracks on the roll cake and asked the staff if it's fresh, she said it was made this morning. Such BS. This is the best place on earth for aged, dried, overpriced roll cake.

Yelp
Is been awhile since I last visited La Palme. I still remember back in the days where they will be the only cake shop in Ala Moana (but later comes Kulu Kulu) and of course now there are more options in the mall area! I thought I want to give them a try so stop by and got: 1) Berry Parfait - used to be my favorite as it has lots of ingredients inside (although can be leftover ingredients from different cakes) but I still enjoyed it. Now instead of Berry Cup, is called Berry Parfait. Has whipped cream, sponge cake, fruit purée, Berry crispy "flakes" (unsure the official name of the increment) and mixed berries on top. Is the better one out of the 2 items I order. Would recommend. 2) Mixed fruits cake - the whipped cream is good but the sponge cake itself is lacking moisture, not hard, but just so so. Service was good from the cashier, she even let me pick the Berry Parfait cup (hence extra star) BUT the two Japanese associates - one male and female, does not have customer service. The male pastry chef just stare at me while I browse the wholes cake window and the female worker didn't acknowledge my entrance but did to others. I know you must be surprise by this kind of service from Japanese workers although they pride themselves in good services and always expect to received high level of service, but not vice versa. I probably won't be back because cake taste so so and is $15 for two pieces of items. If they are good I don't mind paying high price, but not this case.

Yelp
This place has been the OG spot for Japanese desserts before other places started popping up over the years! I use to purchase treats often, but haven't done so in many years because there were times I felt the options were subpar and kind of spiraled downhill for the price you pay. I recently needed to purchase a cake for Father's Day same day and was so glad I could just walk in and walk out with a whole cake w/o calling ahead or anything. I did see the prices of the individual cakes and did not find the price points to be worth the small serving size nor the quality of the treats, but that is totally subjective. Unfortunately, unless I'm in the same predicament I would not visit very often, but the rating is just for its convenience! Awesome last min option though! Saved the day!

Yelp
Today is my mom's birthday! So my boyfriend and I decided to pre-order a cake from La Palme D'Or ahead of time! I would always pass by their, "bakery" from time to time when shopping in Ala Moana and everything would always look good from the outside of their shop! *This was what I pre-ordered ~ *Strawberry Shortcake (10/10) Super cute cake and very light taste! I love how it's not overwhelmed with a super sweet taste, so you can taste the strawberry, filling, and frosting! My mom loved it! Overall, The staff that I talked to over the phone was very helpful and friendly! They informed me about their policy's for the cakes and what happens if you do not pick it up on time or cancel last minute! After you place an order for your cake you pay ahead of time and tell them your card information over the phone! When I came to pick it up, the hand off was very easy and fast! They also make you sign something to acknowledge that you came to pick up your cake! Next time I might try their other goodies that they had on display! Everything looked super good!!

Yelp
This place was my favorite place on Oahu, but not any more.... I placed my order a few days ago. When I went to pick it up, the order wasn't placed even though I got charged $54. They had to make my cake but they just put a few strawberries with alot of whipped creams on top to cover it up all the empty spaces. It looked like the one from Safeway and all the displayed cakes looked way nicer than what I've got. Usually they put a lot of berries on top.... I paid extra to put a chocolate message plate but they just put a biscuit with a message instead. The message wasn't iced so when they put it into a box, it ruined the message totally..... It wasn't worth to pay $54 for this Safeway cake.... It was very disappointing and now I gotta find any other patisseries for some special occasions.

Yelp
I think they have changed their pastry chef in the last few years. the cakes now tastes sweeter and less flavorful. the cake sizes have also become smaller but the price have gotten higher. the servers are nicer though. you give some and take some due to the economy now I guess. but paying for a cake that's half the size and double the price than it use to be is not good business to me.
