On the Grid : Pavillion Bakery

"Victoria Park's Pavillion Café is so good, they opened a bakery shop a mile up the road to cater for Hackney's sourdough and delicious croissant needs. With a wide range of breads and pastries, they're super popular so be warned — they close early when they run out of bread. From the guys who also brought us Elliot's in Borough Market. Need we say more?" - MultiAdaptor

Broadway Market’s Pavilion Bakery Says Vote Labour in General Election | Eater London

"An East London café-bakery with three sites that has openly backed Labour in the run-up to the general election by stamping ‘Vote Labour’ on every paper bag and coffee cup and previously selling 400 ‘I’m with Corbyn’ mugs. Owned by Rob Green, a Labour member and former social worker, the business presents itself as an extension of the owner’s political and community values—serving high-quality baked goods while advocating for opportunities and protection for the vulnerable. The bakery, which provoked debate when it went meat-free in 2017, reports broadly supportive customers and even posted on Instagram that ‘bread photos will resume on the 13th Dec’ for those who want pastries without slogans." - Hilary Armstrong

I’ve been coming here for several years and Pavilion undoubtably has the best baguette in London and perhaps anywhere. Crunchy, chewy and just perfect. I don’t like the way the tills push you towards adding a 10% or 15% tip - this isn’t America - but if you come for a baguette or for a coffee, you’ll leave a very happy person.

Pavilion Bakery serves what might be the best Americano I’ve had in London so far — rich, smooth, and full of flavour, strong but never bitter or watered down. There’s a lovely warmth and texture that’s hard to find. I usually order it with just a tiny bit of oat milk, and they’re always so careful and thoughtful about getting it just right. That kind of attention really shows. The staff are simply amazing — friendly, warm, and welcoming. It’s the perfect place to start your day with great coffee and great people.

I couldn’t find their email anywhere, so have no choice but to share here. Found this little jagged piece of metal in my cinnamon bun today. Don’t need anything, will keep getting my coffee and pastries here, it was the first time in over a year, teeth are ok… just want to alert the bakery in case they need to check their supplies and equipment.

Lovely little bakery, modern set up. Friendly staff. Decaf coffee was nice. Bread looked great although didn't buy any today. Can get quite busy but queue moves quite fast

One of the best almond croissants in town and incredible coffee too! I love that they have a loyalty card

Google
A small bakery and I got the almond croissant which is one of the best in London. Lovely stop after the market as you find a place to sit by the canals or London Fields.

It’s a nice place to grab something on the go. Nice pastry, good quality, but I was expecting more, something out of this world, like few recent bakeries that I recently visited. But if you are around, go for it

So after waiting outside I eventually got inside and managed to order. What I ordered was on the front counter, but what was bagged for me was from the back. When I got home on unpacking the items were misshapen! Not impressed

Yelp
Pavilion on Broadway Market is the bakery arm of the Pavilion Café in Victoria Park. It sells bread, a couple of simple snacks and coffee. Just like the original space in Vic Park, the coffee is excellent, and the bread is so, so good. They have rye, sour dough, and all sorts of really great breads with seeds all over them. I know it's just bread but it's the kind of bread that barely needs butter (but all bread needs butter). The snacks involve cookies and some simple sweeties and the most amazing samosa ever. To be honest, they aren't really samosa but as they are filo baked pastries but they are seriously tasty and a good bridging snack until the next meal. Highly recommended is the mushroom and goats cheese. Mostly a takeaway type venue but there is one big table out the front that, if you are luck enough to pick up, is a great people watching spot.

Yelp
This is an amazing bakery place with so many types of bread from rye and sourdough to seeded and malted, pastries like the cardamom swirl and sweets. There is also few sandwiches and coffee to go. However, i am not sure that a place that has no seating constitutes to being called a cafe??
