Best beer in Boise, hands down! 🍻 Payette Brewing nails it every season whether you’re lounging by the fire pit in winter or soaking up the sun in their outdoor chairs during summer. The dog-friendly atmosphere makes it a go-to for locals (my pup especially loves that the staff hands out treats!). It’s the perfect post-hike, bike ride, or river float stop, and the vibe is always welcoming. Bonus: you can grab cans to-go for your next adventure. Between the friendly staff, great beer, and laid-back energy, Payette is one of those places you can always count on. Highly recommend if you’re in Boise!

I visited 5 Boise Breweries, and I really loved the vibe of this one!! (Honestly, the beers in all of them were good!) Bert's Brewing was also very nice.

Payette Brewing in Boise is an absolute gem! The spacious patio is perfect for dog owners, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment for both pets and their humans. The atmosphere is vibrant yet laid-back, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends. Their beer selection is fantastic, offering a wide variety of unique, flavorful brews that cater to all tastes. The staff is friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual afternoon or a lively evening, Payette’s combination of great drinks, a dog-friendly space, and an amazing vibe makes it a must-visit in Boise!

Google
was having a good time w family when we ordered 7 drinks and they only gave us 6. When we came back to to ask for our final drink a lady in a trucker hat gave us attitude and refused our beverage. One last tip…be kind to your customers that are spending a good amount of money and give us our final drink that we paid for. Very disappointed and they should be embarrassed by their behavior.

Stopped in after riding bikes on the Boise green belt. The Oktoberfest brew was delicious. Lots of indoor seating. Big outdoor patio. Place was super clean and the employees were all very nice

Google
Born and raised in Boise but neither me or my parents have been to this gem. First it's dog friendly so when my uncle showed up with his dog it was all good. The beer menu is outstanding but the best feature was the young person behind the bar. She was super helpful and patient, allowing my parents to test several offerings before settling on something they liked. Such a good atmosphere. I haven't been anywhere in Boise better. Highly recommended!

Google
Cutest little places!!! I’m not a beer drinker, but they did have a cider. Great outdoor space that’s dog & kid friendly. Staff was nice. Huge fire pit outside that will be great to use come fall/winter. The bathrooms are so fancy! Very clean. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Stopped by for a very quick visit on a quiet weekday afternoon - we arrive right after opening. The beer tender was super friendly and welcoming. My husband got a flight of his own choosing, I ordered one of the ciders. They do small pours - something I always appreciate! The ambiance looks nice though it was empty when we were there. Looks like a fun place to hang out (inside or out). The beers (according to my husband) were good and worth a stop. I had a sip of a barrel aged beer and I thought it was very good! That one was his favorite. :) It's near the greenway trail so it's easy to get to by bike and they have a big parking lot too.

Yelp
Very large taproom, dog friendly, large outside beer garden. A few TVs to watch some sports on, tons of seating. The beers are decent, wish they would have had the Blood Orange IPA. I drank the Sehr Kuhl IPA. it was okay, but a very light IPA. We met some friends there after a memorial service and were looking forward to some Queens food truck eats, but they weren't open. Big bummer. They do have bagged nuts for sale. Maybe some pretzels would be good, but I know they end up on the floor making a mess. Beertenders are knowledgeable about the brews and gave good service. Free tastes are available, don't be afraid to ask.

Yelp
Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour Stop #3, State 14 stop 1/7 Barkeep gave us the run down on arrival. (5) I ordered the Hibiscus Passionfruit Sour ($6) and the hubs got the $10 Barrel Aged imperial Stout (free with BOGO - PLUS - free taster glass. (5) Our 1st Idaho stop starts food service at 5pm, so, n/a There are a lot of table options & woord throughout. It's a place you could sit and stay a while.

Yelp
Since I wrote this review, Payette closed its brewery operations and now contract brews its beers. Now it's just overpriced beer in a beer garden with kids running around
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Love the outdoor space and cornhole boards at this brewery! Ample amount of places to sit with large groups. They had two food trucks to choose from, we chose food from a visiting food truck and it was delicious! The beer was super tasty and they have a wide variety of beers and other tasty drinks!

Yelp
The vibe here is very chill and laid back, which I love! The bartender was extremely polite and had some good banter. I wish we could try the food but the food truck is closed. Would totally come back the next time I'm in Boise!

Yelp
Always. This place always delivers great beer, amazing ambiance and fantastic customer service.

Yelp
Safe and clean space, fantastic location, near downtown, and on the green belt. Shopping mall parking after 5pm because of all the business offices around it. Large indoor and outdoor spaces. But.... Indoor space is very loud and "echo-y". If there are more than 5 people inside talking, you won't be able to carry on a conversation because it is so loud. Voices and sounds carry, reverberate and multiply. They really need some sound deadening materials plastered on all the concrete, steel and glass. Outside is nice and spacious, but for summer afternoons and evenings before sunset, there is a desperate need for more shade (unless you want to feel like you are being roasted in prep to be the next course coming out of the food truck). Bathrooms are clean, and the stage outside is a nice touch for a band once in a while. Marketing is fantastic, can't swing a dead cat in Boise without hitting a reference to Payette, but that brings me to my last point. Beer. For as large a facility as this bar/brewery (no longer a micro, especially since the sellout) is, there is a surprisingly small selection of beer. They have filled the tap spaces with cocktail and mocktail mixes, and (cider?), but only a few, all too similar brews. Snd to top it off, the beers I had were not what I expected from all the marketing hype. Don't get me wrong, they were not bad, but they were also nothing to write home about. I had a rice lager, hazy, and tasted a couple more. All were unremarkable. The only beers of color on tap were 2 variations of a heavy, high ABV barrel aged stout, also unremarkable. But apparently the marketing is working, because on a Thursday evening, it was hopping with, when I asked around, a bunch of regulars. It just left me feeling like if the patrons had any experience with beer at all, there would not be much repeat business. Again not bad, if I were biking or walking on the green belt and really wanted some hydration, and didn't want to leave the green belt, I would consider a pint here, but I would not make this a destination.

Yelp
Wonderful people, great beers, and a really cool atmosphere! Excited to visit Everytime I return to Boise.

Yelp
Great spot to get a beer. Very large space both inside and out. Good selection of beers to choose from. I went with the barrel aged stout. Yummy. Could use more of a food selection but I guess you could bring your own. Lots of kidos running around and dog friendly too.

Yelp
My friend and I came during the Oktoberfest event. We each grabbed a tasty beer and sat in the large outdoor patio area, the weather was gorgeous. Service was friendly. They had several outdoor games happening and a food truck that had incredible Brussel Sprouts that I enjoyed very much! We grabbed some to go cans which we were happy
google avatar

Brendie W.

Yelp
This is a great space for dogs, people and kiddos! The beers on tap is fabulous. The patio is large, green and always has a food truck. The private room is great if you need an event space.

Yelp
Solid spot to grab a beer. Watched the Super Bowl here with my girlfriend and had an awesome time.

Yelp
Payette Brewery has it all! Just a short five-minute walk from the end of a Boise River float, it's the perfect spot to unwind. With a welcoming atmosphere for pets, families, and kids, plus yard games and a spacious taproom, there's something for everyone. Enjoy a diverse selection of beers, ciders, wine, and more--this is a spot you won't want to miss!

Yelp
Got lost walking around town and ran into this place around noon on Saturday. My wife had a pint of the Rustler while I had a pint of the Recoil. The Recoil was nice, citrusy & juicy IPA. Very tasty!

Natassia C.

Yelp
Driving through and Nate was such an incredible person, and even if the beer wasn't good I would have been blown away by service and camaraderie, but he had solid beer knowledge and recommendations based on what we liked and it was such a cool change of pace. Would 10/10 come here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Payette was a Boise, Idaho brewery I tried not too long ago on a recent trip out that way. The beer experience was good as I had a couple of their Rustler IPA. It had a malty, hoppy and sweet flavor profile to it. It was balanced very well so no flavors conflicted with each other and came off seamless. A very promising start with this brewery and I'd love to try some more of their beers whenever I'm in the Boise area.

Yelp
I'll say 3.5*, but round up because if I was 10 years younger, I would have enjoyed it more. A brewery that is clearly catering to the college/20s folks in town, they have good beer and a great outdoor area with some games and other events. We came in not knowing quite what to expect and overall had a good time. However, at least on a Friday night, I felt a little old and out of place (and I'm not THAT old). They also have dogs everywhere and some kids running around. While I like dogs, I don't really love seeing them pee on the fake grass that people sit on and kids play on - it's not a good combination. Beer was good and strong - we had a sour and a nitro stout. Sour was decently "sour" for me and nitro stout was sweet and creamy mouthfeel. Plenty of options available here for a decent price (less than $8 pp with tax/tip). Parking is easy to find as well and they have food trucks serving some good options to soak up your beer! For sure worth the visit if you are in town.

Yelp
What an awesome spot we found while visiting Boise! We had a few hours to kill before our flight out of ID, and decided to visit a brewery. They had about 12 beers on tap and more in the fridge! The prices on 4 packs to-go were a steal at $7! A pint will cost you around $6.50 though. My wife and I decided to sample a few and shared a flight. She ordered the citrus wheat ale and the sour - she loved the sour but thought the citrus wheat was a little too sweet. I had the tropical IPA and the Imperial IPA. The imperial was great and not overpowering in taste! Would definitely come back and spend a few hours here on a cool Friday night. Outdoors they have cornhole, Big JENGA, food trucks, and it's dog friendly. Inside there's pool, darts, and connect 4. A gem that we're glad we got to spend some time at!

Yelp
I have not been able to try a beer yet since I left my Id behind during Treefort, however I love this venue for live music. There's plenty of space to be spread out, or to be up close and right next to the stage. There's fire pits and lots of benches and seating inside. Will definitely be back to enjoy this space in the summer time.
google avatar

Pearl W.

Yelp
A lovely brewing just steps away from the green belt! It has a lovely area for dogs, lawn games, and fire pits that keep you warm in the winter cold. The beer is fantastic and there is a great selection as well!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Great beer and atmosphere! We visited on a super hot afternoon and enjoyed some cold beers in a shaded spot in the Beer Garden. They had 2 different shandy flavors on tap - peach mango & cherry - both were delicious and refreshing. We also ordered some loaded tots from the Queens food truck. Best tater tots I have ever had! We lucked out and they had live country music outside. We really enjoyed listening to Justin JJ Jones!
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Great spot. Huge fire pit. Excellent beer. One of the best burgers I've had. Every Monday they give half of beer sales to charity!!
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
We met some friends there to catch up with as it had been a while since we got together. Way too hot to go outside! It was so noisy that we couldn't even talk. There was 1 food truck, with 2 or three menu items.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Great service and atmosphere. Something for everyone on tap as well. Glad to see they are busy in evening so if crowds aren't your thing show up earlier.

Michael S.

Yelp
Such a friendly place. The staff are amazing. Fantastic beer. Great ambiance. Kid friendly, pet friendly, great music on weekends. Awesome food trucks available as well.
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere was cool, the beer was good, the place was spacious...I don't see any problems with this place. Getting there: This place is down the street from downtown, near the river. However, you can't see the river from the brewery. Experience: This place was really cool. There was lots of room, everyone brought their dog, the staff was abiding by COVID guidelines. We did a flight of beer. They don't have a huge selection, but the beers I tried were pretty good.

Yelp
This is my husband and I's favorite brewery that we've been to in the Treasure Valley. They have a great beer selection and their sweater weather cider is amazing! Their outside patio has a great set up. We love standing by the fire, especially while it's been so cold this winter! I'll be looking forward to coming here in the summer as they have a stage, so imagine they'll have some sort of acts performing. There is a food truck that seems to be permanently there, though we haven't tried it yet. I will update my review once we have!
google avatar

Brandon N.

Yelp
Just your average large brewery that got to big. There is a sweet spot for breweries and Payette just got to big, the quality of the beer and the service always suffers. Not much different than drinking a Budweiser.
google avatar

Joseph L.

Yelp
Great brewery to check out in downtown Boise. Really good beer and they also had some cocktail drinks on tap as well. Great place to grab a beer and some food
google avatar

Andee J.

Yelp
I come here for their incredible friendly staff, gorgeous patio for the dogs and kids to run around. I love how tasty their variety of beers are and their food truck has great eats as well. Sidney took great care of us and I'd go back just for her!
google avatar

Erin P.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Payette Brewing during our recent trip to Idaho! The flight was absolutely delicious!!

Robin M.

Yelp
Visited this venue to play trivia. The place was packed, so obviously popular. However, the noise level was so loud I couldn't carry on a conversation or hear the trivia questions. There was no food menu available, so had to visit a food truck outside the brewery. If you're looking for conversation and good food, this is not your place.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
From the breweries that I went to in Boise in the downtown area, this was my favorite from the beers and the outside ambiance of a chill spot to hang out. I ordered a 4 IPA flight and all of them were really good (had Rustler, Sharlie, and The gummy bear IPA). The gummy bear was the only one I wasn't the biggest fan of, and I do like my double IPAs. But it was still good. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the downtown area and want a fun handout
google avatar

Rachael F.

Yelp
I love this place! Great beer, large selection (including wine, cider and canned cocktails if beer isn't your jam). The fantastic, large fire pit creates amazing ambiance and heat in the middle of their large outdoor space. Plenty of room to spread out inside too, with some TV's for sports, but not always easy to see. Dogs and kids are welcome. They don't serve food but they do have food trucks serving regularly which is fun and a great way to try different foods. They also give back to the community is a variety of ways, so check out their Facebook page to learn more about that & theirs special events.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
We took the pup here over the summer and had a blast. Dog friendly, people friendly, and a great outdoor space. The food truck is a nice touch and comes highly recommended. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way out to our campground and had a couple of beers. We tried a couple of IPAs (The Rustler and The Sofa King), a wheat beer (The Urban Surfer), and a hibiscus sour (Aura). Everything was great and service was friendly. It wasn't very busy since it was a Wednesday evening. Pretty good playlist, outside seating, games, and wifi!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Great beer, great food, perfect weather. Love the combo dog park outdoor patio concept.
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
We picked a good time to come. They're having a music festival with performers from all over the country scattered all over town. Easy walking.
google avatar

Jacob H.

Yelp
Very open space, kid and animal friendly. Taps and coolers full of delicious beverages to drink there or take home.
google avatar

Yelp
This is always a fantastic spot for grabbing a beer. The atmosphere is terrific, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Yelp
Nice location. Good beer. Huge outdoor area with a good truck. Bartender wasn't that friendly, but the waitress was awesome and gave us some good tips on other places to try.

Ivy K.

Yelp
last night we had the absolute worst experience with the bartender on staff named James. he unexpectedly became extremely upset at us and was SO unbelievably rude to not only myself but my friend as well, to the point where we felt so uncomfortable that we left.
google avatar

Charles S.

Yelp
We pulled into town looking for lunch before out hotel room was ready and stumbled upon this gem. In a kind of industrial park this place is fabulous with excellent beers and a killer permanent food truck. Plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasure and local musicians. Mondays are community nights where a $1.00 from every pint goes to a local non-profit. I love local places like this.
google avatar

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Great day for a beerMonths since we'd ridden the greenbelt. Stopped off at our favorite brewery for a cold one at Payette on an 86* day. Had the good fortune to be seated next to Derrick Morris! He offered my husband & I a tour of back of house!! Bitchin' to see the master brewers control tower, fermentation vessels, canning magazines and sterilization process. Interesting to learn about how and where hops are acquired and the other distilled beverages Payette rocks!! Thank you DerrickSee ya next time
google avatar

Nicholson D.

Yelp
Been here many times and finally giving it a review. This is the spot to bring your (friendly) dog, your kids, your friends from out of town, and to meet big groups because it's a big, open space both inside and outside. They've got an excellent selection of beers, along with a fridge of cans to pick-up and go. I always love the vibes here, but the last few times, the servers/employees have been a little "cold" and not as friendly as they were back when the brewery was smaller and just getting started. Seems like they're tired of serving people and annoyed with everything... otherwise, I'd give 5 stars!
google avatar

Lyndsay A.

Yelp
What a great find on vacation! We were looking for fun things to do to escape the heat, and as beer lovers I'm so glad we found Payette! It offers a beautiful, clean indoor space and a spacious outside area. Plus, the beers were great! We each did a flight and then a glass of our favorite! The bartender was awesome and we had a great time.

Yelp
= Boise Beer Tour (self-guided) - Stop 2 = I stopped here on my second day in Boise. In the late afternoon I decided to check out the pathway along the river, and at one point I noticed Payette was just around the corner. It seemed a prudent time to wet my whistle. Unlike the local, casual vibe of Woodland Empire the previous night, Payette was loud, busy, polished; and it felt, dare I say...corporate. The tenders were not unfriendly but a little harried and impatient, so I quickly ordered the first thing that looked good - a Blood Orange Rustler IPA; it turned out to be fairly boring; not nearly as good as it sounded (3*). The place was big. And busy. (And did I mention loud?) There was a large front room and an outside, grassy area with a few lawn games set up; quite a few kids and families. I wandered around a bit but was never really able to find a good spot to hang out solo, not even at the bar. I noted the crowd looked trendier than most Boise spots I'd been to and most folks were in larger groups; some appeared to be work-related. I would have liked to hang and try more of their beers, but I couldn't get comfortable here, so I headed out as soon as I could. Maybe next time, if I'm with a group (or a family)
