Pearl’s On The Corner - Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Pearl’s On The Corner is a perfect pit stop before or after dinner elsewhere in the neighborhood. The loud, low-lit space has plenty of space for dates and small groups, and the straightforward cocktail menu can work for pretty much everyone. The food leaves a lot to be desired—with the exception of some top notch french fries that would make Ronald McDonald jealous—so stick to bevvies here (though a dirty martini pairs perfectly with said fries). photo credit: CANDIS R. MCLEAN Food Rundown photo credit: Alison Kessler Baby Gem Caesar A heavy-on-the-anchovy caesar? No complaints here. But this salad is more than just anchovy heavy—it’s sopping in dressing. Skip it. photo credit: Alison Kessler Fried Mozzarella It’s fried cheese, so we’re not going to complain. But the breading on these bad boys is too thick, and takes away from the flavor of the mozz. photo credit: Alison Kessler Meatballs These are more Sloppy Joe than meatballs. The sauce it’s served in has a nice sweet tang, but the meat itself is mushy and unpleasant to eat. photo credit: Alison Kessler French Fries Crispy, golden, delicious. Pony up the three bucks for the cooper sharp sauce on the side." - Alison B. Kessler

The Newest Restaurants In Philadelphia

"Pearl’s On The Corner is a cocktail bar in Fishtown with a kitchen that stays open until 1am. When it comes to the drinks, expect a lot of bourbon and whiskey cocktails, over 20 beer options, and a few $7 wines by the glass. Pair them with a scallop crudo, shrimp cocktail, or anything else from the seafood-heavy food lineup.  " - candis mclean, alison kessler

We’ve been waiting for Pearl’s to open and I must say it’s a welcome addition to Fishtown’s food and bar scene. We have visited a couple of times and the vibe / music has been fantastic. The space is beautiful and they always plays the best music balancing the old schools tunes bringing you back as well as the newer jams. The cocktails have been impressive both times. We appreciate a well made cocktail you’d be willing to walk and pay for. On our last visit, we finally got to try the food. I’ve been waiting to try the mussels and they didn’t disappoint. Flavorful white wine curry broth accompanied with freshly toasted baguettes. The truffle burger may be the best burger in fishtown and we leveraged the fries to scoop up the rest of the curry broth. Ask for a spoon to enjoy all of it and while it’s hot! Finally, I was pleasantly surprised to recover my purse I left on the chair when I discovered it was missing the next day. The owner Doug promptly responded to my frantic messages and had it arranged with his crew for me to pick it up. I’ve been in Fishtown for over 15 years and sadly it has had a bad rep when it comes to safety so feeling like you don’t have to look over your shoulder or worry about your belongings at a bar is short of a miracle. Thank you Doug and all of your staff for paving the way to rebrand our neighborhood and make it a safer place. The staff and the bartenders are super friendly and everyone provides outstanding service. Pearl’s is definitely my new favorite Fishtown spot for great vibes, a perfect nightcap and good food. Can’t wait for my next visit and to try more of what the menu has to offer. Keep up the good work!

First, place is cute decor, good music, loud music, great service. THE FRENCH FRIES ARE AMAZING like gourmet McDonalds ($4). The burger is AMAZING like gourmet McDonalds ($10). Just mindblowingly good. We will be back immediately. Red wine is hitting nice too. Did I mention great service? 10/10

I really liked this place. We went for happy hour and i got the burger special with fries, a draft beer, and a shot of old grandad... For twenty bucks! Food was good. Service was great. This is a great place for a mid-week happy hour!

Google
Service here is not good enough for the prices of drinks and food. Drinks were good, but the server was subpar to us and straight up rude to the two women next to us. Blasting pop music was not fostering a good vibe. Extremely inattentive I wouldn’t allow my dog to eat here. - (from one of the two women next to us)

Our group of 3 had a great time at Pearl's . We tried 6 different cocktails, 2 appetizers, and 3 entrees between us, all of which were delicious. Standouts for us were the Back to Black cocktail, Spicy Margarita, and Scallop Crudo (which I excitedly took a bite of before remembering to take a photo). The owners and staff were super friendly, and the Eagles game was on the TV at the bar. Pearl's definitely fills a hole on Frankford Ave for a classy, yet still fairly casual and inviting, corner bar and restaurant.

Google
Solid happy hour, great cocktails. Small space and walk in only, so come early or be prepared to wait. Very friendly service, drinks came out fast even when the entire place was full

Yelp
Ambiance: I loved the low lit ambiance of this restaurant, I feel like it would perfect for a lowkey intimate date night. Service: We sat at the bar so the food did take a little while to come out but it wasn't too bad. The drinks were quick and the bartender even gave us shots on the house for getting one of our orders wrong! Which I appreciated! Food: I got to try the meatballs, which were okay but I wish they were cooked a little longer, and had a little less ricotta. I also tried the Buffalo toast which was good but interesting after taste. The whiskey sour was perfect! I would love to come back and try more menu items!

Yelp
Pearls On the Corner is right in the heart of fishtown. This place is always packed with plenty of people at the bar. The place can get quite loud but can provide an intimate atmosphere with the low dim lights. It is a great place to go to get a drink the bartenders are great and drinks were delicious. They have a pretty small menu we started off with their cheese board. It comes with three selections of cheeses, bread, and some nuts. Their smash burger and fries were delicious. The burger comes topped with cooper sharp cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickles and burger sauce. The fries come with a great cheese dip a cooper sharp melted cheese dip. Overall the place is a great spot to grab dinner and some drinks with great service. Definitely not a quiet atmosphere place.

Yelp
The service was excellent the food was amazing I had a burger that you couldn't find the flavors anywhere, the place was cool and music good , the vanilla donut desert was something you see on tv and wish for ,note it's for 2 people, I will be back

Yelp
Really good place to come for happy hour! Burgers are delicious. Fries must get a side of the cheese sauce. Martinis were delightful. I will unfortunately say that the Caesar salad is very anchovy.

Yelp
I live nearby so I tried this out soon after it opened (a couple of weeks or so). I always order cocktails when dining out and love cocktail bars so I was very excited. The design and decor are beautiful, great vibes to hangout in. I like that it's walk ins only but felt like it lacked a more proactive host to estimate wait times or point in the direction of people who would be wrapping up soon. We just happened to luck into a couple of seats within 10-15 mins or so since all seats were taken when we arrived - I think there's an opportunity to better manage the walk ins so folks aren't just loitering awkwardly on the walkway. However, the 2 drinks I ordered were extremely watery. I could tell from the first sip but decided to try a second drink in case it was just a fluke. I was disappointed and the friends I was with also thought their drinks were very watery. So the value isn't there for me and with so many other great options nearby, I unfortunately will not be coming back.

Yelp
I had a great experience here. The drinks / food / service were great. I can't wait to go back and bring my wife; she'll love the ambiance. It's a perfect spot.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to coming here for quite a while, so when my friend suggested it for a girl's night, I was stoked! I was not stoked in the least when we received the absolute worst service I have had in recent memory. It was unreal how long it took to get drinks and even refills on water. We tried the spicy margarita, back to black, espresso martini, give up the goods and smooth operator, which weren't even mediocre -- they were just BAD. The prices were outrageous for such a subpar experience. I would rather stand on the corner drinking hooch out of a paper bag without a jacket than ever come back and spend money here. WOOF.

Yelp
Had a drink here tonight with a friend, we each ordered one cocktail. When we requested the check (after being there for a bit less than an hour) we were told there was a reservation coming in momentarily and were asked to move along from our table, which we did promptly. But... Probably shouldn't have "walk ins only" on all your entrance doors and then tell your customers to leave for a "reservation". Drinks were lovely. Food smelled amazing. Other than the rudeness I would have been happy to return.

Yelp
Gorgeous bar. Love the drinks and the staff! Spicy margarita, Back To Black, Can We Talk and No Strings Attached were all amazing cocktails! Cant wait to come back!!

Brandon H.

Yelp
One of the bartenders didn't seem to know how to make any of the drinks and was flat out rude.

Yelp
The smash burger rules --juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether you're here for the food, drinks, or vibe, this spot never disappoints

Yelp
Hands down, the best bar I've been to in a long time. The service, drinks, and food were amazing. Each drink is handcrafted using infused liquors (shout out to bartenders Thai and Christian). The This Charming Gentleman, Give Up the Goods, and Espresso Martini were phenomenal. Each dish was made from the freshest ingredients and cooked perfectly. The Pearl's burger, frites, and buffalo chicken pasty were awesome. The vibe is intimate and welcoming. An added bonus was being able to meet the owners Doug and Tommy. Pearl's is a must try. You won't be disappointed.
