They are generous with the samples :) And although they don't have a lot of crazy, unique flavors, their ice cream quality is really amazing. I had a single scoop split into 2 flavors ($4.50) Salted Caramel x Dark Chocolate YUM. The sweet caramel-y taste complimented really well with the dark chocolate bitterness. The serving size is also quite modest for the price, but you can absolutely taste the difference. Never mind that for the same price, you can buy almost a half gallon at the supermarket. Where else can you get bike churned ice cream?

I went to Peddler's because of their cute gimmick of having their ice cream made by a person riding a bike. Inside the store, they have a bike, which has been made stationary, and which is hooked up to this elaborate bike sculpture as well as the ice cream making machine. I wanted to take a picture of the sculpture (which is the main reason I was there), so I asked the woman who was riding the bike if I could take a picture. She said that she didn't want to model, which is completely reasonable but kind of seems to defeat the purpose of having the bike in the main part of the shop. I then said that I would just take a picture above her head so she wouldn't be in it since most of the sculpture is above that level. She vehemently responded that she did NOT want a camera in her space and that I was under no circumstances to take a photo, to the point that I thought that if I even tried to take a photo of the sculpture, making sure that not a single hair of her head made it into the photo, that she would grab my phone and maybe even break it. I was meeting a friend who had already gotten ice cream, or I probably wouldn't have stayed to get ice cream. As we were leaving, my friend, knowing that this kind of thing is important to me and was a large part of why we had come here, politely walked up to the woman and quietly said, "Hey, so I know you don't want your photo taken, and that's totally cool, but would you mind hopping off the bike for just a second and I'll take your place so my friend can get a quick pic?" The woman did not even turn her head to acknowledge my friend's presence. The ice cream was fine, but the vibe of the place as a result of this interaction was completely cold and unwelcoming. I saw several people leave and noticed that the people behind the counter looked completely taken aback by the fact that she was so incredibly rude about my wanting to take a picture of something near her. I might go back again to get a photo of the sculpture because it is cool, but it's definitely not a place I am going to recommend to anyone based on this experience. I don't even think that she was an employee--they just ask people to come and do the bike in exchange for "sweet treats".

The variety is limited but they have tasty flavors. Small, cute and unique place where you get to even ride a bike indoors while you eat your ice cream. Super highly recommend if you're planning to take the girl out on a date. Definitely Instagram worthy 😄 coming back for sure and bringing everyone I know with me.

Came here after watching the 4th of July fireworks at Grand Park. They were offering a 50% off special to metro riders, so I gluttonously ordered TWO scoops: Mexican hot chocolate and Cinnamon. The line was getting long so I only sampled the roasted corn before deciding on my order. The ice cream had actual little bits of corn in it and was surprisingly good, although I wasn't sure I could eat an entire scoops worth. Mexican hot chocolate: tasted exactly like Mexican hot chocolate should. Cinnamony and a tad too spicy if you ask me. It does compliment one of the plainer flavors (like sweet cream) really well though and is overall delicious. Cinnamon: I did like this a lot more than the other scoop. It was a lot milder and more cinnamon-y, but absolute deliciousness. It complimented my other scoop very well. Ambiance is very hipster-chic, located a couple of blocks from skid row downtown. Scoops are $3.50 each, and you can get a half scoop of two flavors if you'd like. Staff was very friendly and the shop was really cute, complete with a little bicycle you could "ride" inside. There are only a couple of tables for seating, but it's close enough to the park that you can take some to-go.

What a neat sustainable ice cream shop! It's very hipster, IMO, with the bicycle to churn your ice cream. It's really cool seeing the whole process and they allow you to jump on and ride as well. I tried the dark chocolate and the vanilla. Both were really good and not to rich or creamy. $3.50 for a single scoop.

Very good little ice cream stop. Has plenty of great bike parking in the front. Prices are a bit higher then other places. Place and concept definitely worth supporting. Selections change and the flavors are great. I need to make my way down here more often.

This is a unique ice cream place! The power is provided by a stationary bicycle. And the ice cream is organic. The raspberry pop tart flavor tastes exactly like a raspberry pop tart!! But I have tasted better organic ice cream. Still good but not the best.

The ice cream was delicious, however the girl serving the ice cream had a very bad attitude and needs to get another job if she doesn't like the job that she's doing. To be discreet and protect her integrity I won't even mention what she did. Just make sure that you're paying attention to who's serving the ice cream. What's the point of having a joyful experience if the people running the show are not customer-friendly?
