Pedro's

Sat outside on the hillside, took a moment for someone to come by (quiet Tuesday...?). Ordered drinks and fries. Drinks were cold, but somehow so was the server...? All good until we received a plate of nachos and salsa (which, forgive me, but I expected was standard) only to have server come back, way later, look at us, and say "oh, You got the nachos" ...while I was eating them and abruptly took them and the salsa away. Did I miss something? Overall a good spot just away from the iconic, yet crazy, photo area.

Respectfully the food was just not good. Lack of flavor and taste and im not exaggerating. (I got catfished from the photo on the ipad menu for the shrimp mofongo it looks nothing like it and just too much garlic) This is a place where you go when you are drunk and want cheap quality drinks for overpriced lol. The server was nice but wasnt able to give us an itemized receipt nor have the option to get it emailed. Weird. They are lucky the location is keeping them in business because it is such a tourist location ! :-)

Food was really good. Only problem were the two drunk dudes arguing for literal hours at the next table had to move inside lol.

Worse experience. Food was average and overpriced for what you get. The waitress did not seem to care and the bus boys were amazing and So sweet. Other things went wrong with my experience the salsa i found a piece of plastic and told the waitress. Who knows how plastic gets into salsa / chips. She “took care of it” the way it was taken care of was not removing it from bill until I mentioned and a side was added that was never brought. Thankfully I checked the bill and when I mentioned it, the waitress pretended that she did not know it was there and removed it. Thankfully that happened but if I did not check, it would have been a case of overpayment. Not the best experience. Love supporting local business not but one that doesn’t care for its customers or tries to deceive.

This is a very cool spot with a great atmosphere. It's vibrant and colorful. The best part, even when it was packed, you can still hear your conversation. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The drinks....wow they pack a punch!!!! Great location for large groups or a date in Dumbo section of Brooklyn.

The food was good. The drinks were beyond heavy. I know you may have customers come in complaining about them not tasting the alcohol. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and I couldn't manage to drink it. I ordered a different drink mascow mule and I didn't even taste the ginger beer it was all vodka and lime. I also didn't finish the drink. Great customer service! I only suggest the bartender be less aggressive when pouring. Great luck to all!

After leaving an event me and my friend looked up Mexican spots in the area and this one came up. Outer decor is pretty nice and inside definitely is cozy. We sat at the bar, wish there was more leg room since my knee was hitting the bar since it's not wide to really have your legs under. It took a bit till we were attended to. The food was pretty good and the drink definitely had a kick to it.

I STRONGLY CAUTION anyone considering Pedro’s to rethink coming as the food quality and service were pitiful. Never in my life have I experienced the lack of interest and passivity of the staff at seating customers, attending tables, and receiving the bill. Chips to accompany salsa are not free, salsa refills are not free, the tacos (besides being expensive) only come with one tortilla and you are charged for the seconds that are normally standard. The staff, upon us asking why our carne was not chopped up into manageable portions and with a second tortilla, said it was how the owner wants it to be. If that’s the case, they must want this establishment to fail.

It's a bar we stopped in actually to go to the bathroom and ended up having a strawberry frozen margarita and a Mojito both were OK. What was actually excellent were the calamari and the beef Ramen which was delicious there's nothing no ambience but it's a really cool vibe we were were able to leave and add our money to the wall. I'll show you pics here. Cool neighborhood spot. Service was OK.

6 years ago I had my first date with my girlfriend, my now wife. I took a trip this weekend and wanted to stop by our spot, and just like I remember, it was cutest spot. Service: 5/5 there was never a moment I needed to find out waitress. Everyone was extremely friendly and other people stopped by the table to make sure things were ok. Food and Drinks: 4/5. I ordered a mezcal margarita, spicy and it was one of the best ones. I can say the use a ton on ice and it quickly is watered down. There was only one bar tender and the more people ordering margarita the less glassware that was available in high caused a small wait. I Besides that it was pretty good! I only ordered nachos with shrimp and it was pretty feeling. The food was seasoned well and was a good amount to share. If I am ever in New York, I will be returning. By far my favorite place to stop by. There is indoor and outdoor sitting. There was no wait when we arrived, but as we started ordering or food there was a line and no empty seats. This place is also good for parties of 6 if you're hanging out with friends and I believe reservations are accepted.

Saturday 9:30pm Glad we stumbled into this bar as we were ready to give up and call it a night on our dumbo night out . Though they were almost closing , we were immediately told that if we want to eat , we need to put in our food order ( we just got nachos which was ok , nothing to rave about ). I like the authenticity and low key feel of this place , I wish they stayed open later and maybe turn it more of a fun dance place . Clearly there's a demand as people walked in but also walked out because they're were closing . Loads of potential .

I was initially skeptical about dining at Pedro's due to some of the mixed Yelp reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The Tex-Mex food here is truly fantastic. The salsa was amazing, hitting the perfect level of spice, and the chicken enchiladas were exactly what you'd want from Tex-Mex cuisine. The frozen margaritas were spot on and really complemented the meal. I will definitely be returning. Pedro's is an excellent addition to the neighborhood and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Very laid back spot, one bartender one server. Started off with a strawberry margarita. The drink was super sweet and did not have any Alcohol in it at all. The food was good. Hubs got the Barria ramen soup. Nice portion, lots of meat and very tasty. I got the steak tostadas. The order came with two tostadas. Very good I wish it came with a little guacamole. Def will give this spot another shot!!

So me and 4 other young ladies came here after experiencing the Bomb event. It wasnt our original choice and we debated multiple times after entering the venue to continue down the street. One of the reason was the bartender's attitude when we ask if we can seat ourselves. She nastily asked if we read the sign. The sign was at the edge of the bar, next to a plant and one of the girls was directly in front of it. So we didnt see the sign. The food was very subpar and was not delicious. The service was horrible. The spot was a hole in the wall and barely noticeable. I wont be returning

The Food is good. I asked for Roast Pork(Pernil) Pinto beans and Yellow rice with hot sauce on the side. You used to be able to go to the window and order the food by pointing to what you want, and the guy would make your plate. You can't do that anymore, you have to order from the bar and look at a menu I liked the old way better because I can see what was really fresh and what looked really good and then I can say I want that, but you can't do that anymore Which is very sad I told the girl I want roast pork, yellow rice and pinto beans And I want a side of hot sauce The order took about 12 minutes to arrive and I asked the delivery boy that brought it to the bar. Does it have hot sauce? And he doesn't speak English The girl behind the bar said to him in Spanish he's asking about the hot sauce and he gave me a thumbs up and I thought that meant that I got hot sauce When I went to my apartment and open up the bag. There was no hot sauce whatsoever. And I did not get pinto beans I got black beans That's why they got two stars The food is good, but the old servings were a lot larger But it's up to you if you want to just eat what they give you and not what you order

Tucked away Mexican spot doling out affordable eats in an otherwise expensive part of Brooklyn. Stuffy inside, with tables close together in their basement level seating area. Decided to sit at the bar instead, where there were available stools towards the end. Wasn't all that hungry, opting to split the "Supernachos" w/guac ($14) to go along with a Spicy Margarita ($14). The nachos are a layering of thick cut tortilla chips, beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. Better than expected and easy to scoop up all the ingredients without it flowing out of the bowl. Margarita is strong and paired well with the food - wish there was more of it however. Seems like the low ratings from this place stem from the service. From our experience the wait staff were quick, as the food came out within several minutes. Wouldn't have an elaborate meal here, but for a snack and a drink, a fine enough spot.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ASK FOR ITEMIZED BILL 1. Food is very poor quality, 2. Drinks are water down 3. They add stuff to your bill, double check your receipt. 4. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff

$12 for the amount of chips and salsa that should be free, plus what most would consider a "side" of guacamole, is insulting. Also guacamole tasted store bought. Michelada was fine but bland, but that's easy to fix. Don't get tricked by the hole-in-the-wall vibe, this place is overpriced and exceedingly underwhelming.

Pedro's Bar was a deeply disappointing experience. The service was horrible, with rude staff who seemed indifferent to customer satisfaction. The environment was dirty, making it uncomfortable to stay for long. To top it off, the drinks were overpriced, adding to the overall negative experience. I would not recommend Pedro's Bar to anyone looking for a pleasant night out.

The chips were stale, but the margaritas were cold. They were not attentive, as my glass sat empty :( We asked 3 times for a cheque. We won't be back

Service was quick and lovely. We didn't stay, we ordered for pickup but we were offered to sit at the bar for a minute while waiting. We were even given water. We ordered the flounder tacos and although i forget the name... it's a beef brisket with Chile taco. Now that one was delicious! I think it was birra taco? The flounder was in corn tortillas and the beef taco was in a harder shell so it got a bit moist in the container. Otherwise it was pretty good i would come again for that taco.

I'm not sure why this place rates so low overall. It's our first time eating here. We are a party of 6 spanning different age groups and food preferences. The place is super cute and you feel like you're eating in a small town in Mexico or the southwest. The food is good, not excellent but it may be related to what we ordered. I prefer more flavorful food, perhaps with more salt and spices than they use. It's a small place so the service was fast even with only one waitress on staff. We will definitely return.

Food was OK. Quesadilla had pretty good flavor, but tacos were bland. The drinks lack creativity and had way too much ice. Service was courteous, but they were either short staffed or overbooked, so they could not check on us regularly. Ambiance was cozy, and a bit snugged. I liked the colorful decoration.

I have made many reviews on restaurants and this is the first time that I must say this place was the worst. The place had about four tables available had to wait a bit to be seated. One waiter that had to be called over after being seated for over 10 minutes. Let me begin I ordered guac and chips and it tasted horrible like it was sitting in the refrigerator it was just unacceptable. The bartender served our food and my daughter commented how horrible the taste of the guac he didn't even have the courtesy to respond shook his head and continued to walk away. Then came the empanadas tasteless, ordered the taco combo with chorizo, chicken, and pork beyond disgusting chorizo was burnt and hard, the pork looked like it was from a can and I had to eat the chicken with a fork because the shell was so thin it broke. sure there were some people who were drinking and maybe the margaritas were good or affordable. However, you have been warned this whole experience didn't even deserve one star. if you zoom in on the picture, you will see the canned pork, dried chorizo and chicken don't waste your time.

As someone just touring the area, I am super glad we stopped at Pedro's. We had rented some bikes and rode across the Brooklyn Bridge. We wanted to stop in the Dumbo District and walk around. One of the first places we stopped was Pedro's for some "refreshers". From the outside you could smell the amazing food and it drew us in. The staff is super friendly and the space is inviting. We bellied up to the bar and got a mojito and coconut margarita. The mojito was good, but the paper straw was just too advanced for my use. The coconut margarita was a house margarita with coconut cream. Next we ordered empanadas. Sorry, no pics. They have a wide variety though and we chose one each of chicken, chorizo, and cheese. They were crispy and tasted good, but the dipping sauce they came with stole the show. Another round of margarita and a Brooklyn Lager before our super nachos came out. The beef on the nachos was amazing. The beans and cheese supported the flavor of the beef perfectly. Empty plates all around. All in, you should definitely stop if you're looking for some well cooked food.

I visited Pedro's after having fun with friends at Beat the Bomb. We worked up an appetite and Pedro's was the perfect place! We did not make reservations, but the staff is very friendly and understanding. We were able to get a table for a group of 7 in under 30 minutes. I ordered the birria tacos. Other's around my table ordered the tilapia tacos, the steak with beans and rice, and the empanadas. We also shared calamari and nachos. For dessert, we had churros with ice cream and sweet plantains with ice cream. I would recommend EVERYTHING but the sweet plantains with ice cream. The ice cream was a hit, the sweet plantain not so much. The restaurant also accommodated two of my vegan friends. So vegan lovers are also welcome! Not only is the food great but the setting is awesome. There's music playing in the background while you eat/ The music is soft enough for you to speak with everyone at your table and loud enough for you to break into karaoke and sing along with everyone at the restaurant (which actually happened with us). At the end of our stay, we were able to write messages on currency and staple it to a wall display of messages written on the currency. I say this to say that I did more than just eat, I had an experience! It was a great night and I would recommend anyone who loves authentic Mexican food to visit when they're in the area.

Came here this past weekend after seeing the nearby Frida show. We came hungry.....place is cozy & atmosphere is chill & relaxed. The drinks (margarita & mojito) were on point. The guacamole could have had more flavor & the main meal also lacked seasoning. Overall a perfect spot to come & hang out.

The drink selection is limited. The decor is very old school and reminiscent of a classic dive bar. I didn't try the food but someone have some next to me and it looks good. Next time I try it.

With each visit, the counter staff want to overcharge, and then argue the point ... finally relenting. Every, single, time. Not okay. The food is not great either. Very noisy ambience.

tried adding an extra 25$ fee to bill (2 items for $40) and they brought me machine with 65$ charge for me to pay. when I called him out on it, they brought a printed receipt for 40 and said "it's your job to confirm the price on the credit card machine." They blatantly try to steal and blame customers when caught. Avoid and trust the terrible reviews

I used to absolutely LOVE this place but recently I went there and ordered take out. OMGGGGGGG not only was it soggy, it was a MESS!!! Normally I get the wings and they pack the sauce separately. Same with the rice and beans. NOT THIS TIME, it looks like PIG SLOP. Like I don't even think a pig would want that mess! It was all THROWN TOGETHER in this container that ended up LEAKING through the bag and on to the leather seats in my car which ended up STINKING FOR DAYS. Sauce and crap EVERYWHERE!!! I was so HANGRY at the time I wanted to go back there and throw it at them. Come guys. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!? Also the chicken just didn't taste good at all. It was kind of slimy! Idk man. I guess the moral to my story is, if you want Pedro's, EAT IT THERE! Say NO to take out.

Today my wife and I came by to eat since we haven't been here in years and WOW!! What a big difference in staff and food quality. The service has been greatly improved.. I recommend stopping by if your in the area

The ambiance is crowed and stuffed, but expected to be that way. The waiters took a long time to serve us, no tab water offered. The portions are small, i was surprised. The drinks look good, but I didn't have one. Payment was taking forever, I guess too little staff. Overall wouldn't necessarily return.

Delicious fresh and flavorful mexican food. The portions were also very sizeable, enough to take home.

As a former hospitality professional of 22 yrs., I wanted to give myself some time to cool down before writing this review. That is to say, this experience really pissed me off on many levels. If you read any of my other reviews, you will see, I usually offer both Pos. & Neg. comments; never just negative feedback. That is until, today... Whereas the food was mediocre, and the drinks weak and overpriced, this negative review is solely on the lack of service (literally) offered by the food server -- who was later identified as the manager. (I'm sorry, but I think the manager should be a positive example for their staff.) Rather than go point by point as to why the overall experience was so bad, let me repeat, I have "never just left a negative feedback" on any review. It was that bad. FWIW, good service can make up for almost all mishaps in a restaurant -- delays in food coming from the kitchen, bad ambiance, even other patrons. But NO service at all should NEVER happen. While working as a busboy in a steakhouse restaurant during my H.S. years I learned a valuable lesson that carried me on to becoming a Sommelier and ultimately a GM of a highly acclaimed restaurant in SF. That lesson was this, "Never think you are doing a favor to the customer by serving them. They are doing us the favor by allowing us to serve them. It's called the 'Hospitality Industry' for a reason." Sadly, this place does not understand this and will never see my business again. This city, and this neighborhood, offers many choices. I cannot recommend this one.

I recently had the chance to stop by Pedro's for a second time while my sister was visiting town. This unassuming restaurant drew me in with their artwork outside of the building, but their food is what had me come back the second time around. My sister said she was craving some quality taco's while we were in dumbo and I knew exactly where to take her. We arrived on a Monday around 1:30 in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day out and we requested to sit in their outdoor space on the side of the restaurant. When it came time to order I went with the torta di milanese ($8.00), while my sister got three chicken tacos. Overall a great dish in my opinion. Stuffed with tasty chicken, tomato, guac, and some other fixings, it definitely did the job of making me both full and satisfied. I'd 100% recommend getting it! The service here was great too! Since we were the only patrons seated outside our waitress came periodically to make sure everything was alright. They were efficient and kind during out entire stay. Overall a great Mexican spot for quality food and good drink deals any day of the week. I'd suggest this for a chill hangout spot with friends or a casual option if you're in the neighborhood.

Pedro's is near a great part of the city, right near the Brooklyn waterfront with an amazing view of the city. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and a fun quirky aesthetic. I went on a Monday evening and it was busy but not crowded. The service was relatively quick and the wait staff was kind. The food itself was good but honestly nothing special (to be fair: I'm from CA). The margaritas were delicious. We ordered the crispy enchiladas and super nachos. The enchiladas were delicious, but had too much cream. The nachos were okay - they used iceberg lettuce and didn't have enough cheese spread throughout the bowl, so it was kind of a miss for us. The upside was that the steak in the bowl was delicious and high quality. The food was really heavy but that's probably because of what we ordered.

I work in the area so anytime I crave Mexican I go to Pedros because their food is usually made with love ! My favorite thing to order is their pork tostada but today I decided to add on chips and queso. Normally the meat is seasoned , well cooked and the food overall packaged with care . However, today when I receive my food, my tostada look more like a burrito bowl because it was placed in a container with zero regard. Also I paid $15 for what was supposed to be queso, that ended up being a brick of microwave-melted shredded cheese. The meat was so flavorless today & The chips broke as soon as I dipped it in there lol... sad to say never again !

Been a minute since I came to Pedro's and honestly was craving pancakes today but got to TimeOut after Clinton St closed so here I am! Been coming here for years tho and it's never disappointed. I've loved everything I've had on the menu but today was my first time having the burrito bowl with grilled chicken and it was amazing. Also had a bulldog, which is a margarita with a corona, highly recommend! It's usually one of my stops when I have visitors in town before we walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Great place for a quick, yummy bite.

This place is HYPE. I'm glad that they finally put tables out for covid outdoor dining. I especially enjoy ordering food here and taking it down to Brooklyn bridge park for a picnic. The frozen margaritas are always on point. The food is always fresh, and yummy. The staff is accommodating, extra hot sauce

Would I eat here- no, would I come for a tequila & beer - definitely if I am around. The place outside looks very interesting when you come in, be prepared for low ceilings even if you are quite short or average hight. The place inside looks like a puzzle that somebody still trying to figure out, the atmosphere was ok, I liked the bartender, she was very attentive.

This place was perfect! We wanted some Mexican food and had a large group with 4 kids under the ages of 12. This was my first visit to PEDRO's. The waiter greeted us outside, took care of our stroller to help us go down the stairs since the entrance was down a set of stairs. They had the outside area to sit as well but we wanted to sit inside. They were able to get a table and some chairs set up for us and this place was busy. It is not a big place inside but we loved the decor and how cozy it was inside. If your taller than 6 foot you maybe hitting your head on the ceiling since it is not a high ceiling. The food was fantastic, the kids were able to choose items that they liked on the menu. This place is ok to bring the kids. The service was great, the waitress was on point and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. After eating all the food we needed a nap. I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch, dinner and some late night drinks. We will be back :)

This is actually my spot! I've been here about 4 or 5 times in the past and I love it every time. It's usually affordable and so tasty. However, I wasn't a big fan of their outdoor dining due to the limited menu items, hiked prices and not-as-strong-as-usual drinks. I would say that I couldn't get over their Steak Tostada Salad and how absolutely DELICIOUS is. Thinking about it makes me want it now.. lol. Hopefully, their full menu is available again with indoor dining so I can return and enjoy one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn!

Meh. I've been to Pedro's around 3 years ago and remember it being satisfactory for food and drinks. In fact, my friend and I thought it would be a charming experience for her friend who was visiting from England. Today, I brought another friend to Pedro's for brunch, and felt less than enthusiastic overall. Located on the corner of Jay Street, in DUMBO, Pedro's is a colorful attraction (with street art) as one approaches it. The space inside is quite cramped and small. This is apparent with the very low ceilings that are decorated with Christmas lights and tight tables. Yet, we felt it was the flavor of the restaurant. My friend and I seated ourselves since nobody appeared to be around. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, this one does not offer the complimentary chips and salsa. Unusual. As we perused the menu, I was undecided whether to select an egg entrée or one without. We both chose the tofu burrito. It was a bit unclear at first when the entrée described it with "rice and beans". My friend and i thought that it was a side accompaniment. Since I don't like rice/beans much, I asked for a substitution. The offer was salad and I was fine with that. Again, I thought I would be getting a side salad. Once our burrito arrived, it took a few minutes to realize that the rice and beans & salad (for me) was included Inside the burrito---not on the side. Also, the burrito was supposed to be topped with sour cream but we asked for it on the side. Guess what? My burrito was served with a generous drizzle of sour cream on TOP. Exactly what I didn't ask for. Overall, the service was pretty bad. We were given a bottle of water but once it was finished and we wanted more, it was nearly impossible to flag down the waitress. Surprisingly, (despite the poor reviews), the place was really crowded. My friend and I were satisfied with our selection even though it wasn't spectacular. But I'm just not sure if i would pay Pedro's another visit in the future.

Cute establishment so I walked In for a quick bite to go. They are nit welcoming or friendly. Acted like they barely wanted to talk. I seated myself. No greeting and they are literally at the door. I haven't even tasted the food yet. I'm writing this review as I walk out. With my order

The service is horrible no one checked on me the whole I was there and on top of that when I finally ordered (25 mins) later my food took so long and it was disgusting hard and just rushed and it wasn't busy at all the margarita was nasty too I told my waiter about my experience will not ever return here just keep walking not worth it oh and she didn't take nothing off my bill even after I told her the food was disgusting 0 stars

Cool ambiance! It's a small place so get there early for dinner or come late. Mofongo was great and so were the tacos. We ordered a pitcher of margarita with our dinner!

I think the owner/staff were blinded by our recent eclipse. Service was definitely not provided and there was super shade thrown from staff. Super relevant to eclipse, I swear. Yo, wtttfff. (in the most New York accent I could muster without sounding ratchet) the most disgusting guac ever. It's refrigerated and came put super cold. It was served on a STYROFOAM....yes, styrofoam, mini bowl. Also a HUGEEEE load of onions. I took one bite and returned it. They still had the nerve to try and charge me for it. I waited forever for the correct bill. They didn't bring it so I went inside (they have outdoor seating) and had to get bill. The owner was sitting at bar and seemed to not be concerned with the issues. Only throwing around ingenuine apologies. I didn't receive any water (and it was literally over 90 degree outside. Seriously) and not even one napkin. I'm writing this currently while waiting on bill. That's how awful my experience was. Had to vent to the world. Pedro's has DEFINITELY changed over the years. Will never return

If you want to wait 2 hrs for your food and enjoy watered down drinks, then this is the place for you. Aside from it looking very unkept inside, the service was extremely slow . Food was OK. And I emphasize OK.

My friend and i stumbled in to this establishment hoping to get a nice frozen margarita but all we received was bad vibes mostly coming from the waitress she was very distant and what seemed to be annoyed. After sometime waiting we asked for 2 frozen margaritas ...nope no frozen margaritas so we got up and left which was the smartest decision we made that day

Not a bad option for Mexican food in the area. My friends and I needed some serious fuel and this place definitely satisfied our needs. The waitress was really sweet, the decor was fun and grungy and the food was pretty good-definitely not the freshest or most exciting Mexican food but totally did the job. If you're in need of a good, warm meal then this is a great place. My friends told me they have outdoor space in the summer and decent margaritas too.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around Dumbo and so glad we did. Authentic Mexican and a great vibe. The mural outside is Instagram worthy.
