"Stop by Peeps Kitchen for some serious fried and glazed chicken, with wings that come with sweet and spicy, soy garlic, or “extreme” sauces. It’s easy to pick out the restaurant from its blue mural depicting chicks grazing in chef’s hats along McGuiness Boulevard. There’s no seating, but the restaurant is located a short distance from McCarren Park and delivers on most ordering platforms." - Eater Staff

"Peep’s Kitchen is one of Greenpoint’s best-kept secrets. The small, family-run shop specializes in Korean fried chicken. The gangjeong preparation, pictured here, is stir-fried in a sticky, sweet sauce, then topped with sesame seeds and sliced almonds, but the padak is also good: It comes without sauce and has shaved scallions on top. The small restaurant does not have indoor seating, but it’s a great takeout option in the area and serves its food on most delivery apps." - Eater Staff

"Korean fried chicken, done well, should still have some crunch to it after a few minutes in a takeout box — and the containers of boneless fried bird at Peeps never disappoint. This Greenpoint restaurant has no indoor seating, so count on a well-oiled takeout and delivery operation slinging orders of fried wings and glazed gangjeong chicken. Place orders for pickup online or over the phone to avoid a wait outside the shop." - Eater Staff

Google
The best chicken sandwich I've ever tasted, served alongside fries so crispy, they'll make your eyes roll back in pleasure. This hidden gem, run by the most welcoming owners, might have a small wait and a slightly higher price point, but the reward is a flavor explosion that will tantalize your taste buds. Highly reccomend this place!!!!

Google
I ordered the gang jeong solo, and this chicken was absolutely amazing—on a whole other level! The owners were incredibly friendly and so sweet, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be visiting again very soon!❤️ 사장님 너무 맛있어요!! 또 방문하겠습니다:)

Google
This place is incredible—hands down my favorite spot for chicken! The staff is warm and welcoming, and you can tell every dish is made with care and love. Be sure to call ahead or place your order in person for the best experience. And whatever you do, don’t miss out on the chicken sandwich—it’s a must-try!

Google
This is some of the best fried chicken in Brooklyn. My wife and I order from here almost weekly because of how delicious the food is. Everything is take-out only and cooked to order so the trick is to call your order in and then show up at the restaurant 30 to 45 minutes later and get it fresh out of the fryer. Also, our secret tip is to get a side of the sandwich sauce and a side of the Extreme Hot sauce, then put a teaspoon of the hot sauce into the sandwich sauce to make a delicious spicy sandwich sauce. I'm getting hungry for their chicken just writing this review...

Google
I tried Peeps Gang Jeong and Padak. They were pretty good. You have to wait about thirty minutes so it’s better to order in advance maybe since it’s only take out place.

Google
To start off the people in there are super super friendly and kind, now for the food this is the best chicken I’ve had in nyc the wings are literally fall off the bone tender buttery and crunchy outside, This is the first spot I’ve ever seen debone the thigh then fry it and omg it’s what I’ve wanted my whole life it’s completely outstanding.

SungUk Kim

Google
Today I picked up some chicken here, and it's the best Korean-style chicken I've had in New York. The owners are super friendly, and the flavor is absolutely fantastic. I live in LIC, but I'm definitely planning to make this a regular spot for my chicken fix! What are you waiting for? Go ahead and place your order!

Google
THE BEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN. The batter is light and crispy. The inside is moist. I’ve tried many many fried chicken in NYC (and in korea), this is the best in NYC - the closest to fried chicken in Korea

Yelp
- more like 3.5 - take out only there's only a small bench outside - ten minute turnover - Jimbos bar is around the corner if u want somewhere to sit and wait - even the 'small' gives a quite large portion it was so big the top would not even cover it - the two staff members were very nice, courteous, and friendly they out up with all my dumb questions - food stays hot for a long time - I bought Gang Teong it was alright the lady said this was most popular she liked the Padak, better

Simon W.

Yelp
One of my new favorites! How is it that I just found out about Peeps Kitchen just now!? First off, let me just say no matter what fried chicken you choose, it will all be so tender and juicy, there is no bad fried chicken here. I personally go for the thrilling padak with the fried-crunchy-for-days chicken breast with dijon mustard-soy on the side and julienned scallions is my favorite. If getting this to go, the pro tip would be to put the fried chicken in a bowl when you get home and pour the sauce over it and mix well. Top with the sprinkled julienned scallions for a perfect padak. The Gang Jeong version with the house sauce is also a favorite. This sweet and spicy topped with sesame seed and almonds is a great contrast to the original. I have yet to try their chicken burger but it's on my list to try soon! There is no onsite seating but this fried chicken won't get soggy so not to worry. Get your hands dirty at home! Finally the owners are just beautiful people serving up fantastic delicious food with a smile on their face every time I walk in no matter how back breaking it is to run a business as a small mom and pop in the world today. Give these lovely people a smile and a break when you walk in and wait outside if possible because it's tight inside. Order ahead and wait patiently, great food is worth the wait!

Yelp
Amazing crunch on the fried chicken, great flavor all around, and super kind service. No place to sit inside as its very small, but a GREAT takeout option. That was some amazing fried chicken, solid fries and I'd recommend it!

Sally Z.

Yelp
Service: ?/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: takeout only Mom + Pop run / hole-in-the-wall / hidden jem of a place. Solid Korean fried chicken, great for groups! Ordered 2 large combos to feed 5 people + we had so much leftover, everyone got a second meal out of it. Tip: I think the combos used to come w/ pickled radish, but not anymore, you gotta order it on your own! What I Ordered: - Combo B: stayed crispy even after a commute. juicy + I think the thighs come de-boned - Seasoned Fries: skip it, dry, stale + no flavor - Sweet Potato Fries: soggy, no other flavor besides its natural sweetness - Kimchi: fresh, not spicy - Scallion Ginger Sauce: tasted a little like honey mustard, my fav so far - Soy Garlic Sauce: classic - Sweet + Spicy Sauce: actually quite spicy (for a person w/ low tolerance) - Extreme Hot Sauce: I did not attempt, but friends said first bite was unexpected

Doman W.

Yelp
Super fucking good. Spicy on the side not for the weak of heart. It is damn spicy!! Got me sweating. Amazing crunch

Theresa L.

Yelp
This is a take out only spot. Ordered the Korean fried chicken wings with the sweet and spicy sauce. Would definitely order the wings again! Wings were crispy and sauce was good. The only drawback is that you have to pay for the sauce separately. One of the top places in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area for Korean fried chicken wings.

Jia-Lian L.

Yelp
I saw peeps kitchen from a reel on Instagram claiming it's the best Korean fried chicken so as a Korean chicken lover, I had to try. I got the peeps gang jeong and the fried chicken thighs with soy garlic and sweet and spicy sauce. The woman owner was very friendly and she told me the past three days, they have been really busy. I wonder if it's because of that Instagram reel? Who knows. The store is very bare bones. it's only two people working there and you can see the kitchen right there. There is a bench outside you can sit in if you need to wait though...and we had to wait like 40 minutes due to how busy they were. That's fine. The chicken is a tad bit more expensive than bon Chon and bb.q Korean fried chicken but it was delicious. The soy garlic and the sweet and spicy sauces were on the side but tasted great to dip it in. It's very similar to other Korean fried chicken places. The gang jeong is the highlight of the meal though. It ended up being a bit cold due to the commute I took but it was very flavorful, the garlic was a nice addition, had great sauce and was nicely crispy. I wish it was closer, had seats and was cheaper....but no complaints at all about the food. When I ate it on the subway, a guy even came up to me and asked me where I got that due to how aesthetically pleasing it was.

Yelp
My favorite Korean fried chicken in all of NYC. First off, Peeps Kitchen is run by the sweetest couple ever. They are the friendliest, warmest people you'll ever meet. You can really tell that their food is a labor of love, and you'll taste it in every bite! Like all the other reviews mention, there's no seating, so make sure to call ahead of time. They also don't start serving chicken until dinner, so plan accordingly. For lunch, they exclusively serve bento boxes (I have yet to try them, but it's definitely on my list). Now to the chicken--the glorious crunchy chicken that is Peeps. The crunch is just absolutely insane. If you get sauce, definitely ask for it on the side so that your chicken doesn't get soggy. After the crunch comes the tender, juicy insides, so fresh and delicious. The texture of their chicken is an experience in and of itself. Their soy garlic sauce is perfection, and if you want a little bit of a kick, they have a couple of spicy options. You also MUST get their tteok kkochi (fried rice cake w/sausage skewers). The texture of the rice cakes is incredible. Crispy around the edges but super chewy and soft on the inside. The sausage is also always grilled perfectly, and the spicy sauce that comes on top is delectable. It's also a perfect snack to eat on the go! Peeps is just THE place for Korean fried chicken.

Yelp
Peeps Kitchen is pretty awesome. The chicken is deliciously fried. The sauce and fries are great. The street food appetizers are fun.

Yelp
Weekday Dinner Takeout: The near-perfect rating is well deserved! Combo B with wings, drums, and thighs comes with so much food! Plenty of food for 4-5 people. All of the chicken are double fried so they come out extra crunchy and juicy. By itself, each piece is so flavorful but the extra sauce puts it over the top. (10 out of 10) The soy garlic sauce adds the right amount of savory without tasting too salty. (9 out of 10) Imagine some chili flakes or a little heat added to your breakfast jam and you get the sweet and spicy sauce. A good option, but not better than the soy garlic sauce. (7 out of 10) The family that owns and operates this shop is so friendly. You can tell they genuinely enjoy taking care of their patrons. Highly recommend supporting them!

Yelp
We got this delivered because our friends recommended this place very strongly!! We got medium size chicken thigh (6pcs of big thighs) and Gang Jeong Box. The chicken was crispy and delicious. And the sauces were delicious, too. I was just expecting more punch and oomph to the flavor, but some of the sauces were difficult to tell what the MAIN PUNCH flavor was. Loved the box deal but kimchi, too, I feel like could've had more flavors too it. The chicken were great but I feel that the flavoring could've been more bold!!

Yelp
Decided to order from this Korean mom & pop restaurant after reading other Yelp reviews. Opens late in the afternoon till as late as midnite. The couple owner were very friendly and service was great. The restaurant is takeout only. It may look large from the outside but there was hardly any room inside to wait for takeout. Best to order online for delivery or to pickup. I decided to try the popular recommended dishes. I ordered the Peeps Gang Jeong (fried boneless chicken chunks glazed with house Gang Jeong sauce), Peeps Padak (fried boneless chicken chunks with shredded scallions and house Padak sauce), and the Tteok Kkochi (grilled sausage and rice cake skewer). Food took a while to make but worth the wait. Padak had no seasoning nor taste until mixed with the sauce which made it unexpectedly very tasty. Gang Jeong was also very good with the slightly sweet glaze. The Tteok Kkochi sausages were deliciously smoky and rice cake chewy; dipped in the plum flavored sauce made them even better. Portions were large and neatly packed. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Brian L.

Yelp
Not sure why everyone here is raving about the wings. It's not THAT good. Maybe the mom and pop are cool but I wasn't the one picking up. I'm just eating them and honestly, you can't dip these wings. I get why they don't pre sauce it. The wings are fried with the flaky batter. But the sauce is far too strong for self dipping. No good.

Sarah W.

Yelp
we ordered takeout from here, note that the wait was a bit long since they make everything fresh! there's no seating inside but you can wait on the benches outdoors. the gangjeong was sooo yummy (sweet and nuts were a great touch) and the plain fried chicken without sauce was also really good. it even maintained the crunch when reheating it the next day. i highly recommend if you're craving fried chicken in the williamsburg area!

Daniel C.

Yelp
I love to eat out to and experience new food - this place deserves a special place in everyone's rotation. A bit expensive for no reason, however - the fried chicken is sublime. Super delicious. Really clean, super fresh and wildly crispy & flavorful.

Yelp
Legit the best fried chicken in Brooklyn. The sauces, the breading, the taste! Definitely my go to spot

Chaunna H.

Yelp
Let me write this review while it's fresh off my taste buds. I ordered the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. This is a take-out spot only. Barely any room to wait for your order if you pick it up too early. The good: The flavor combination of the chicken sandwich felt very Asian-inspired and was delicious. There was also great crunch on the breading. I lived in Korea for a few years and the chicken here brought me back. It reminds me of a fast food place called "Mom's Touch" I used to go to. It was spot on. The fries also had good flavor as well. Not too sweet. Ways to improve: The sauce on the sandwich was a little runny and dripping everywhere. It was quite messy. Maybe a little less sauce or putting the sauce on the side perhaps? The fries box was huge. Offering a 1/2 size would be great for a single serving. I'm being wasteful b/c I'm not going to finish them. It's too much. The price was high. I spent $25 on those two items. Maybe it's inflation? IDK but it's not something I can afford to order frequently. Overall, it was a good experience and I would buy it again.

Bram L.

Yelp
Probably one of the most hidden gems of Greenpoint, hands down best Korean restaurant in North Brooklyn. Gang Jeong Box is just too good and always consistently delicious.

Dalena H.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times but finally got a chance to order take out and go straight home to eat it. They only do take out. Call ahead of time because they make it freshly fried and it takes 30 minutes or more. I got 6 piece wings and wanted to try a new sauce so I got the padak sauce. I wanted to try a wing right when I got it and didn't use the sauce. The crunch was phenomenal! I wanted to love it more but it was so flavorless without the sauce. I would love to have some spices or something in the crunch. When I got home and tried it with the padak sauce, I was a bit disappointed. I didn't know what to expect, but the padak sauce is not for me. I'm not a mustard person and it definitely had a hint of honey mustard or some kind of mustard to it. I would definitely come back and try a different sauce. The mom and pop are so friendly and nice.

Dennis A.

Yelp
Tasty fried chicken, and super friendly owners. They fry the chickens on order so it'll be crispy every time.

Ray K.

Yelp
Everything made to order so there will be a little wait after ordering Shop run by husband and wife. They are so welcoming. Feels like eating food from family. Chicken is delicious and juicy.

Tati C.

Yelp
I came once and that was all I needed! But I was def back for more it's worth the walk too. The food stays crispy and it's bursting with flavor. ESP with their option to choose 2 sauces on the side. Their gang jeong chicken is fried perfectly and topped with sauce or they have wings without sauce. I had their beef dumplings , banging The food prep takes a min like 45min so call ahead! Check them out! A lovely couple in the kitchen, giving you great tasting food and so sweet in person.

Jess F.

Yelp
This is the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had...and I'm from CA where we have a ton of authentic korean food all over the state. Anytime I'm going to Brooklyn from now on, I'm going make the trip to get this chicken. Truly memorable, must-try, can't speak highly enough about this little spot

Julia P.

Yelp
Amazing cute restaurant! We drove by on Sunday afternoon and saw cute little yellow chick's painted outside of the building that caught my eyes and had to stop by for dinner. We met a very friendly Korean couple who took our order. It is take out only and seating is not available at this time but we were welling to wait after reading all 5 stars online. We ordered bunch of stuff on the menu and wait time is 30 mins because they are made fresh. Walked around the neighborhood and the lady gave us a call half an hour after "food is ready for pick up." We didn't wait to go home, started eating in the car and my 7 year old son said "mommy this is the best KFC I ever had!" I couldn't agree more! We will be driving here more often from LIC. Sharing at LIC mommy group!

Alice J.

Yelp
This little family owned small business is such a neighborhood gem! Really delicious fried chicken and the couple who own it are kind, thoughtful people. Can't recommend enough!

Ellen S.

Yelp
This is the most perfect Korean friend chicken takeout I've ever seen and tasted. I called to order (take out only) and the owner was so sweet! I picked up and it was a small kitchen family owned and everyone was so friendly. I walked 15 min back home to enjoy my chicken and it was still crispy and SO flavorful. I love the addition of the almond (?) slices that added that additional crunch. The sauce is delicious and would love to go back and try more!

Lily A.

Yelp
was walking back to my apartment with groceries for dinner in HAND and made eye contact with peeps kitchen. after debating with my partner for a few minutes we both gave in..... we are saving the groceries for tomorrow and tonight : PEEEPS. Best fried chicken in the world I am not kidding. Also the owners are so sweet. Are we weak for ditching our plans to cook? Yes. But how could we not be. We walked straight into the trap... Love you peeps

Andrew G.

Yelp
The best Korean fried chicken in Brooklyn and further in the city. Ordered ahead of time as they did caution it does take about 30 minutes to make. When we showed up to pick up, they were perfect on the timing. We ordered peeps gang jang and peeps padak with Korean sausage with rice cake. The food is exceptional. The gang jang is hands down the best Korean Fried Chicken - perfectly fried, juicy chicken and the sauces are SO good. Added with the crunch of the scallion. Absolutely stunning. Ended up eating way more than intended but I've been spreading the word about this chicken. More than worth the walk from a train station and well worth the cab ride back as well. Will be coming back!

Xiao C.

Yelp
One of the best fried chicken places in NYC ran by the sweetest couple! I usually call ahead for pickup since they fry their chicken fresh and it might take a while but the owner is always apologetic about the wait time and even offered us complimentary items for waiting! Definitely a must visit if you're ever in the area, we love the padak chicken!

Mirna K.

Yelp
Honestly, I like family owned restaurants but I love the ones where you can taste their love and appreciation for each other and their business in their food. And this is what peeps kitchen is. Anything I order from the menu is delicious every single time. The service is excellent; they always give extra food when the quantity is small. Knowing that they're generous people says a lot about them. They also left me a note a couple times thanking me for the order. Today was my first time picking up the order myself, and the ambiance shows hard working people with so much respect and love for each other and their food. That's the type of business where I'd like to always buy my food from.

Rose Gold A.

Yelp
Best chicken I ever had. You can tell the detail and effort put in every part of the purchase, from the meal to the package. It done with care. And they use really quality meat. No weird veins and unexpected stuff.

Ron T.

Yelp
Very good food. And someway somehow always piping hot when it gets home. Like even the fries... that never happens! Give them a try!

Noah C.

Yelp
There's only one question you have to ask yourself: "Do I like chicken or don't I?". 'Cause if you do, get some chicken. xoxo

Nicole A.

Yelp
This place is run by the nicest Korean family. My daughter's friend who is Korean now consistently buys their chicken every time he comes from the UES. You need to call ahead and pick up but it's a nice addition to the neighborhood and business seems to be doing well.

kelsey c.

Yelp
Amazing food and staff!!! Totally worth the wait!! Coming back everytime I'm in Greenpoint!

Steven C.

Yelp
horrible service food allergic if you want good Korean food this is NOT the place for you . Canceled my order because they messed it up the first time. extremely combative business the woman was very disrespectful as well.

Daniel L.

Yelp
I think this was the best Korean fried chicken I had in BK, ordered the padak and the gang jang and some sweet potato fries, it was so much food but we pushed through and finished them. The scallion wings were my favorite and incredibly crispy!

Erik E.

Yelp
THE BEST people and THE BEST Korean Fried chicken in the city. Definitely call/order ahead but never ever disappoints.

Joy S.

Yelp
Wow!!! The chicken here is just too good to be true. Highly recommend the boneless chickens (it's all we've tried but it's that good)! We ordered for pick up and by the time we got home to eat it, it were still hot and crispy. For the sausage & rice cake, would recommend eating it right when you get it since it tastes better hot. There's no seating (indoor nor outdoor), but its probably the only thing that would make this experience better. Also we waited ~40 mins for our order, which is longer than expected but trust us when we say we weren't even mad because the chicken was that good!

Susan P.

Yelp
Had it again for takeout dinner.... It's sooooo goooodddd!!! The wings are to die for, I literally dream about when I'll be able to eat it again next. Also just like pizza and pasta.. why is it so good as leftovers?!!! I'm planning to have it on my salad tomorrow.. it's called balance.

Brian N.

Yelp
Value: 5/5 Food:5/5 Guys I never do food reviews anymore but I had to do a review for this place! The food is amazing! I was craving Korean fried chicken on news years Eve and this place was amazing! This place rivals BonChon Chicken in the Bay Area! You don't even need to go Korea Town in the city! The chicken was juicy, crispy, and really well flavored. I got the sauces on the side and they were also so amazing! The soy garlic and sweet and spicy are a must! I'm going to come back next week! I will definitely be back! Please support local businesses!

Aaron D.

Yelp
Best Chicken Sandwich in the neighborhood no doubt. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever eaten (at least top 3). Great Fries too.

Mike C.

Yelp
This spot is sooo good. Little mom n pop owned small brick n mortar. Everything is made to order so it takes a bit more time but I will happily wait for amazing food made from scratch. Patience is a virtue. And this place was outstanding. If you want fast crap then go to KFC, but if you want home made amazing Korean fried chicken, go here. You won't regret it

Matthew Y.

Yelp
Really solid, delicious food across the board (tried just about everything). Don't skimp on the dipping sauces for the fried wings/drumsticks - all of ones we got were very good. Definitely worth checking this spot out and we'd get this again in a heartbeat.

Tristan P H.

Yelp
Great Korean fried chicken! Also, they aren't messing around with their spice. I always like to order the spiciest sauce at the local Korean fried chicken spots and usually they disappoint but I actually couldn't handle the hot sauce here, it was that spicy (bonus points for that). All in all great food and timely preparation, will definitely order again.

Jana G.

Yelp
Ordered take out for the first time here. Excellent! You can tell the quality right away and that it's made to order. I got the Gang jeong box and vegetable fried dumplings. The dumplings have the perfect crunch and the sauce it pairs with is incredible. The gang jeong chicken is such a good taste, combined with the rice, kimchi and salad it's such a good combo. The salad dressing even was insanely good. Not to mention the service when I placed my order and picked it up was lovely- they make you feel happy to be a customer! Will be back for sure

Sarah C.

Yelp
delicious fried chicken!!!! just open for takeout and delivery. we ordered on Uber Eats, took a while to get here but it was still semi warm. Wanted the full experience of it fresh out of the fryer so we air fried it again! Each piece is perfectly fried and super brined. Not too greasy or oily feeling when you're eating it or on your fingers. I totally recommend the soy garlic sauce!

Rob L.

Yelp
Went with my son today , he was so excited to try KFC . The shop owners were very nice people. We ordered 18 pieces KFC and mozzarella sticks , they cautioned us the food would take a while (30 minutes) , we waited outside in the car. As promised the food took about 30 minutes, everything came out packed really . We were a shot distance from home but decided to dig in the car as the chicken smelled that yummy. Well , let me say it was one hot , sticky , yummy , absolutely delicious mess. They gave us 3 sauces, soy/garlic, hot/sweet and one more which I can't remember. Everything was very well made and delicious, very like the best KFC I've ever eaten and totally worth the wait . Enthusiastically recommend and will definitely go back

Kennedy A.

Yelp
If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would. If I could rate it a million stars, I would. This place has the best chicken in the world. I say that whole heartedly. I've never been so captivated by a sandwich like I was the Chicken Burger. It's incredible. The people working (I believe maybe the owners) are so kind! They are super fast, but I'm not kidding I would literally wait hours if I had to for that Chicken Burger. I would wait days. I also got a solo side of the wings - INCREDIBLE. It's so good. BRAVO PEEPS, BRAVO
