My family and me went to this amazing place! The food was five stars Forbes! More than delicious! And the atmosphere sooooo good! The service was amazing, Sophia was our waitress was so good and friendly! I will Definitely come back!

The food was delicious! Really liked the roasted pork arepa, taco platter and peruvian ceviche. The only bummer was that the waiter didn't mention they had Taco Tuesday ($3 per taco) going when we were ordering. Also, he asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, without mentioning the charge (maybe he assumed it's common sense that there is a charge for non tap water?)

I am writing to share my recent experience at your restaurant, which was extremely disappointing—especially given that it was a birthday celebration. My husband and I dined at your restaurant and spent approximately $170. I ordered the red snapper and for appetizers the mofongo with yuca and a ceviche, while my husband ordered what was listed as churrasco. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was far below expectations. The red snapper was very dry, the ceviche lacked flavor, and the “churrasco” was not churrasco at all, but appeared to be a New York strip steak. To make matters worse, later that Saturday night I became very ill with what I believe was food poisoning. Becoming sick after dining out—especially on a special occasion—is unacceptable and deeply upsetting. I make a point to support Latino-owned businesses and had high hopes for this experience, which makes this disappointment even greater. Given the poor food quality and the illness that followed, this visit was not worth the cost. Needless to say, I will not be returning, nor can I recommend your restaurant to others. I strongly encourage management to take a serious look at the quality and consistency of the food being served. Customers expect far better, particularly at your price point.

This is truly one of Brighton's hidden gems. The food is 5 stars and the mixologists are also top notch. Come on a Friday or Saturday to enjoy live Latin music or celebrate your birthday here and enjoy a surprise with tres leches! Shout out to Andy, the server who was so attentive, professional and fun!

It's been a minute since I got to a restaurant and the food is nice and HOT and when I say hot I mean you either wait for the food to cool down or you have to blow it. Taste was good also serving. Do not leave without trying their natural juice specially lime juice and passion fruit.

My partner and I came to Peka for some dinner and we had a good time! We ordered the shrimp ceviche and the paella and the seafood in both of them tasted fresh. The portions were on the smaller side and the size of the paella could be a serving for one or two, depending on how much you want to eat. Nonetheless, the food tasted good! The music level was also great, and it was not hard to have a conversation. Finally, our server (Will Mellow) was really friendly and checked in on us to make sure everything was good.

I had my birthday dinner here. food was awesome i’ve been before. the only weird thing was it took them like almost an hour to bring the cake out (i brought my own) and then they gave out like small ish slices and didn’t give me the rest to take home?? maybe that’s normal but i almost feel like they dropped it or something and it wasn’t a cheap cake. maybe that's normal for the restaurant to keep it.

I expected more, like a tapas experience on the level of Barcelona. The food wasn’t bad… it just didn’t justify the price. The cocktail was not good and nowhere near deserving of the price (tasted like store premix). The vibe isn’t bad, would be improved with slightly more people.

I am so in love with this place. I've been countless times since it opened living in the area, and they have the best margaritas made out of fresh ingredients. And the staff is always SO SO kind. Recommend the nachos and quesadillas! It's decorated very cutely for any girls night out vibe or bday too.

If you're looking for authentic Latin American cuisine, you won't want to skip out on Peka when you're in town. You walk into a beautifully decorated restaurant, with a welcoming ambience. Staff were attentive and the menu had a good selection. My friends and I all got something different but I have to say my flank steak with fried yuca, plantain and chorizo was an absolute flavor bomb and delicious! Their paella was also great, full of seafood and flavorful. We went on a Friday night and they had live music as well which was lovely. Definitely worth checking out!

The decor and seating was amazing with different rooms. Joanna was amazing, attentive, she knew the menu and made sure we were satisfied w our meals and drinks and that they were on point. They had live music after 8. The shrimp and tostones tapas was delicious, the charrasco steak was good i exchanged the rice for coconut rice which was the perfect choice. They surprised me with tres leches cake. My birthday experience was excellent and they had great spot for a photo op near the bathrooms and the other rooms also had wonderful art and color. I would definitely recommend for your next celebration!

I love it, the decor is absolutely beautiful. Great place for a date. There is plenty of street parking with a 2-hour limit. The staff is amazing. The food is good. I had the fish tacos and briria (sp) tacos. The staff is so cool that they have a full bar. So this is a great place to chill.

Went here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was so much fun. They had a salsa band, and somehow my friend's father made his little dancing floor by the band, where there was no room., The place is fairly large with three rooms and it's a great place for birthday celebrations. The food is delicious. I had the ceviche and tacos and they were very very good. The owner Kat was super nice. She showed the entertainment room, which was a cute space for dancing and celebrations.. it seemed like it was well enough for the pop up place for people to come out and play. The sangria was good. Will be back here again.

5/5 Peruvian ceviche - very refreshing 5/5 flank steak cooked medium rare w/ cheese, salsa, rice, and beans 3.5/5 red sangria, on the sweet side 3.2/5 yuca fritas, flavor is there but not a crispy consistency Came here with a friend on a Tuesday night to check it out and would recommend! It's a nice place to enjoy dinner with a good amount of space between tables inside. Additionally, on Fridays and Saturdays there is live music starting at 8p. Will have to come back to enjoy dinner with the performance! We both had a good experience dining there as our server was prompt at taking our order for drinks and entrees - no issues with ordering or service at all. Would highly recommend the Peruvian ceviche and the flank steak w/rice and beans. They were amazing! For parking, there's no lot, but you shouldn't have any issue find a spot. There's ample street parking along the side streets that's a short walk away.

Beautiful space, good food. Wasn't crowded on the Sunday of a long weekend but maybe that's to be expected. We were a group of 4 and ordered the Peruvian Ceviche, Garlic Shrimp, a trio of mixed tacos (mahi mahi, birria, and shrimp), Flank steak, and Red Snapper- everything was on point. Service was great. No music or dancing on Sundays but it was also easier to have a conversation without having to compete with loud music that way. We ended with churros and vanilla ice cream, and coffee- perfect.

Great food, Latin menu! The service was excellent, the ambiance very colorful nice decoration good place to have fun on weekends because they have live music after 8 pm! We ordered for food peka ceviche, red snapper, steak everything was really good! And drinks we took sangria and margaritas!

After being in the restaurant for 5 minutes, I was already making plans to come back. We went on a Saturday evening so they had live music and it was so entertaining. There was a little room for people to dance as they wait for their food or after. The food was just as good as the atmosphere. My friends and I had 3 of the entrees : red snapper , pork quesadillas, and strip steak . I highly recommend this place , especially for smaller parties of 3-5.... It's the perfect quick night out!

A great place for Latin style tapas! I got the mojito flight which was so fun and their flavors to pick from were very unique and tropical. The service was quick and our server was very kind and attentive. We loved the decoration and the pink chairs were so cute and comfy! Can't wait to go back!!

This was my wife's and my second visit. It was great the 1st time, even better the second. Our server Eliot was the perfect amont of friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The food was fantastic. We gopt teh Shrimp and tostones Tapas, which paired wonderfully with the old fashion I had. My wife is a huge fan of their arepas, and had those for dinner, while I dove into Pabellon Criollo. A fantastic portoin, filling and the perfect amount of rice. The flavor combinations were excellent and I paired it with Cusquena Beer (which is now a favorite of mine). When we arrived the music was the level to enjoy but still be able to have a conversation. Will be back as their menu has some items that I ahve to try. I really appreciate this resteraunt as it was a relaxing time that didn't feel rushed.

Amazing food and drinks. We got the lychee trip and Peka Sita and loved it. For food, recommend the ceviche, garlic shrimp, queso, empanadas, pupusas. Service was on point.

A standard restaurant experience until the margaritas were not good. The entire table of 4, sent back a drink at one point. I sent back a margarita, twice, because it wasn't good and I'd rather enjoy my experiences. It's my one precious life after all. No truly, life is too short to suffer through a bad cocktail. So naturally, I expressed my apologies to the waiter asked if I could have a lemon drop ($17) instead as I'd had ordered it previous to the margaritas and enjoyed the lemon drop. The waiter told me that they couldn't send back the drink anymore. I said that's fine, I'll pay for it but I'd prefer a lemon drop instead. She said she'd ask the manger and left. The owner came over with a lemon drop. This I know because she walked over to me directly and condescendingly introduced herself as the owner while presenting the drink. She even delighted in standing right at the table, leaning in to peer at me and prompted that she wouldn't leave until I took a sip. I'd like to emphasize again that the margaritas were NOT good but this review isn't about the margaritas actually. It's interesting that the owner chose to be derisive rather than curious. Having spent years in hospitality, generally managers/owners will "light touch" a table to express welcome. It's also an opportunity for them to learn about their customers experience. Done correctly, it's invaluable in adding to the ambiance and allows the restaurant to learn and build return clientele. A missed opportunity here to improve the product because again, truly, those margaritas were not by any measure enjoyable to drink. Perhaps, the bartender needs more training or the recipe should be updated or an ingredient was expired or maybe even, I just didn't like it but she never asked.. Her approach was to attempt to embarrass and belittle me. I won't be returning.

The atmosphere at this establishment is truly fantastic, with delightful live music and a charming setting. However, I must express my disappointment with the quality of the food. Despite its Latin theme, the dishes were far from satisfying. Having frequented East Boston for authentic Latin cuisine, I can confidently say that any eatery there surpasses this one. The pupusas, priced at $7 each, were particularly disappointing, resembling frozen varieties from a grocery store. Even their basic tacos, priced at $8 each, failed to impress. While I don't mind paying premium prices for exceptional food, the disparity between cost and quality here is concerning. Elsewhere, a pupusa typically costs $2.50 to $3 and delivers far superior flavor. This place really needs to up their game when it comes to their food. Especially for a establishment that sells food from all over latin america. Ps a concerned latino.

There are so many great things to say about Peka, it's hard to know where to begin. The entire menu is inspired by fine Latin cuisine, so you will definitely get a little bit of that Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, etc. feel throughout the options. They have your more basic items, like tacos and nachos, but also some more exotic items that are harder to find. There's a ton of flavor in everything. The Ahi Tuna Ceviche was exploding with what I think was vinegar and citrus, and just ignited my taste buds. The decor is very cool, and it's amazing to see what they did with this old Irish bar space. It definitely has a whole new vibe. It's dimly lit but has TVs and great music playing. Chef/Owner/Creator Pedro is an absolutely huge part of the environment here. He's making his way around from table to table, chatting with patrons and making recommendations. He saw the tacos on the table and immediately said "Do you like hot sauce?" and out comes some of his homemade hot sauce. It was awesome. I wish they bottled it. You need to ask for the hot sauce, it's got a really nice kick! The tacos come individually and I highly recommend the fish ones (mahi mahi). They came with pickled radish, guac and just loaded with ingredients. The shrimp dish reminded me of tapas I had in Granada, Spain. So good. The fresh grilled bread to dip in the sauce was to-die-for. I could have eaten 10 pieces of that bread. I regret not ordering the nachos, but I'll be back! I want to try so many things on the menu here. The reina pepiada caught my eye too, but I had just ordered so much already. Hoping to order more things I've never had before. The coconut flan was the best flan I've personally ever eaten. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. You won't be disappointed. If you get the opportunity to chat with Pedro, you will find out this isn't just a business for him, this is his personality. He lives and breathes the restaurant business. It is in his blood and you can tell he enjoys nothing more than making his patrons happy with his cuisine. Although Pedro isn't Italian, he feels like my Italian Uncle just making sure you eat enough and he'll have a drink with you too. Hospitality is his thing. There were points I forgot I was in a restaurant. It feels like you're at Pedro's house. You should most certainly try Peka. There's a parking lot across the street next the police station if you drive to it.

For Tapas we ordered Arepitas, empanada, flauticas and for main dish the Pollo Asado. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and the live music made it a memorable night. Considering how great the food is, I think the prices are more than reasonable. I will definitely be coming back to Peka for more tasty food and live latin music.

Slightly belated review, but simply put: YES. If you're wondering whether you should give this place a try, the answer is absolutely yes. First of all, every single thing on the menu sounds like it's going to be amazing, so we were really struggling trying to figure out what and how much to get. Our server Wilbur helped us narrow down our selection and pick the right amount of food for two people. The food was amazing - so flavorful and nicely shareable. I want to go back and try more menu items, but I would also absolutely order every single thing here again. Prompt and friendly service, incredible food, impeccable ambience, more than reasonable price. Do yourself a favor and dine at Peka!

This is a great recent find for me. Food is good and service is great they are very well staffed and very attentive. Cocktails are very good, I came for lunch but hope to try out the Peka bar at some point. Parking lot right across the street is nice to have.

Food and drinks were good! I got a parcha mojito and a tamarindo mojito. We got a few tapas Ceviche was so yummy-pupusas, and nachos. Tres leches for desert- all yummy. I went on a Saturday and heard the live band and then-after 10- it was dance time in the lounge! Music was fun Salsa, Merengue,Bachata, regaeton- was trying to leave at 11 but stayed u til 12:15 great food- great drinks- great dancing

Ana is Double AWWWWSOME . The food is perfect, the drinks are strong. We must have been the loudest customers they have ever had. Our guest count kept growing, And they still accommodated for us. I know when an establishment has nothing but happy employees, then you are going to eat HAPPY FOOD! I wish this place not but success!

I want to give an honest review. I tend to try many different restaurants in my spare time so I'd like to think I know what good service is as well as food and drinks. I want to start off by saying I ordered a lychee margarita which tasted like I was given condensed milk with ice, which I asked the waiter could I switch out the drink because it did not taste good and she refused. After continuous attempts the manager finally came over and took the drink which then I asked for a lemon drop martini with reposado tequila and the waiter stated she was not able to fulfill my order because they can not switch the alcohol with another. I received the drink which then tasted like straight lemon juice. I was very excited to try this place as I've been seeing influencers post it all over social media. I can actually say I was very disappointed.

Food was TERRIBLE , to just say it was too "salty" is an understatement. Ordered the Gaucho, Churrasco and Flank Steak and I think the "chef" thought that Salt was the main ingredient. Don't even want to get into how dried, oily ( I know an accomplishment to be able to manage oily and dry all in one) the empanadas were. The rice and black beans tasted like the water left on the pot after you boil beans to tenderize them, no flavor just dirty water. People my point is; if you are going to change the prices you do at a minimum , the food should be atable. The waitress was very attentive and made this horrible food experience tolerable.

Good food and good vibe !!!... We started off with a few apps and drinks and the server was on point!!.. We then asked if we could move over to another table closer to the live music.. Waitress here was much slower... Finished up at the bar/club and good time continued !!!!

Overall excellent. Food is wonderful, lots of fun choices and everything is well seasoned and diverse. Service is very warm and genuine, I speak little Spanish and staff was incredibly appreciative of my effort. Also it's SO reasonable to dine here, the portions are very generous as well. Had: Peka ceviche, beef arepas, pupusas, tortilla and chicharron soup, & tres leches cake for dessert. All the food as previously stated was excellent, desserts clearly made in house and we inhaled it in under 45 seconds. Tasted like the nostalgia of an ice cream sandwich; really special place. Fun lively ambiance, live music, and overall just uplifting and filled with life. 100% going back for brunch and taco Tuesday.

The ambiance was amazing and all the servers were very nice! Many of them spoke Spanish, which is always a good sign at a Latin restaurant. The food was good, but not amazing. I'd describe it as Americanized Latin food. The menu is very broad across Latin cuisine. I had the Flank Steak and it was pretty good. The food came quick too.

This place was great! The decor and environment were very bright and welcoming. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and had huge portions. It was a nice surprise that they have live entertainment on Saturday nights. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent tapas for delivery! Food was fresh and crispy upon arrival, and even after reheating the next day. Las arepas de Katy (reina pepiada): wow, I'm seriously considering copying Katy and eating these for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The reina pepiada (chicken & avocado filling) was bright and flavorful and meshed well with the crisp-tender arepa. Boli's quesito: grilled semi-hard cheese that reminded me of less salty halloumi. Drizzled with honey, great sweet & savory balance. Pupusas de Chera: two meat & cheese-filled pupusas with pickled cabbage. Also tasty, but a little dry and light on the cheese. Wish they packed this in recyclable plastic, not styrofoam. Menu and price point are similar to Orinoco in Boston, which I've also enjoyed before. However, Orinoco's delivery menu is currently more limited (and notably, arepa-less), so I think Peka has the edge! Also, it feels good to support a restaurant that opened during such a tough year. Looking forward to trying more of Peka's menu.

This place was incredible! From Drinks and food, and live music! Place is clean and very inviting. Our server Alexandra was super helpful and fantastic service overall.

Fun casual place with full bar in Brighton Center. The food skews Spanish and Brazilian. Lots of meat options and shrimp options. Not sure non-meat eaters will love it. Very good sangria. The live music (we were there on a Saturday night) starts 9'ish. If you're not feeling the music there's a front room that gives you the Peka vibe without the music front-and-center. Been there twice and OD'd on meat both times, but in a good way.

Latin American is one of my favorite cuisines and Peka exceeded my expectations! I love tapas since you can try many different items and share a tasting experience with company. Our favorites were Los Tequenos de Christy and the Reina Pepiado Arepa. Los Tequenos were out of this world. Similar to a mozzarella stick, but with buttery puff pasty, smooth cheese, and a sweet dipping sauce. I'd come back just for those again. Drinks were well poured and fairly priced. Service was friendly. The manager even took time to stop by the table to check in.

Great atmosphere and even better food. Unique experience and looking forward to trying more of the drinks on the menu. Easy 5 star experience

I live down the street. When this place opened, I didn't really pay attention and I was SO wrong. The restaurant is spacious. (Enough for them to have dancing events). The food is incredible. The service is impeccable. I recommend the ceviche and churrasco. I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant. Come, hang out, enjoy the atmosphere and people. Kenary was our waitress and she was amazing. Brighton has a food scene and it's booming with Peka.

My wife and I really like this place, and still go even though we recently moved further from Brighton area. The service is friendly and fast, our favorite dishes are the carnitas and shrimp tacos, the empanadas, Camarones Al Ajillo, and the Vicky's chicken. The paella is also worth waiting for. We've gone on Saturday nights for live music a few times, the dancing area is "cozy" but still a lot of fun and a great band.

I came here with my fiancée on our last evening together in the Boston area. We were absolutely delighted with the ambience, refreshing sangria and delicious food. I highly recommend la paella de pedro!

We've had takeout once, and ate on the patio once. Both meals were delicious. The empanadas were fantastic, and the tequenos have now knocked out mozzarella sticks as my favorite cheesy appetizer. The arepas didn't hold up as well as takeout, and the pisco sours were just okay. The guava margarita was a solid fruity margarita choice without being too sweet. Definitely try the tuna ceviche if you're a tuna fan!

We experienced that rare but welcome feeling of going to a restaurant with high expectations and being surprised that they were not high enough. We were extremely fortunate to have Wilbur as our server. Wilbur is incredible. He has been with Peka since they opened and knows the menu (food and drink) with exquisite detail. We asked for recommendations before ordering and settled on a selection of dishes that we might not otherwise have tried without his input. We loved each and every dish. We started with Emmy's yucca frita (comes with an awesome cilantro dipping sauce) which were piping hot, crispy and not oily at all. Wilbur recommended the Aji Amarillo ceviche which was super tasty and melted in our mouths. Guis' Costillitas alone, with some house hot sauce that we asked for, made the meal memorable - a dance-for-the-taste-buds medley of collaborating and enhancing flavors.The meat was so tender and flavorful I would be willing to take cholesterol medication to eat that every day. Another dish worth mentioning is the seafood paella (La Paella de Pedro). Wilbur told us we could order it with fried calamari. It was out of this world, abundandant in all ways and the seafood was super fresh. We enjoyed the paella the next as leftovers too. All our drinks were great but the mango margarita suggested by Wilbur was the best. Don't miss it!! We loved the atmosphere on the back patio where we had our meal. We didn't feel rushed at all. We actually felt like we were on vacation and the whole experience was delicious and celebratory in every way. We can't wait to go back.

If you open at 1130, you should have your staff come in at 11 and set up. The first 30 mins of our day was just people clanging glasses. By 12 things actually started to feel like a restaurant and the food was solidm

I thought this place was fabulous. I will say the music was a bit loud when I first came in, but it's very authentic in terms of taste and ambiance. The setting is quite dark and fun. It's with painted murals and the food and service has been fantastic each time I've gone.

I went for brunch today the food is good but BE AWARE no refills for coffee, I got charge for 3 cups of coffee but the 2nd and 3rd of were smaller cups I got charged 3.75 per each cup of black coffee, on top of that you get AUTOMATITLY charged 20% tip for a party of 1....

I was so excited to try this new spot and it lived up to expectations! The food was good, fun vibe, great service and drinks. Definitely check it out!!

Ordered today for delivery... they missed an entire item and sent me EXPIRED flan! The flan was made on May 27, today is June 9! DISGUSTING! I have 14-day old moldy milk product that was delivered to me. Threw out all the food I ordered because I don't want to get sick from this restaurant. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

5 star hit! I don't give those lightly. Best latin sangria in our 13 years in Boston. Drinks and food were excellent. Parking across the street is free for 2 hours. You can sample tapas, we we did, or order full entrees. The food was authentic and excellent. Pupusas, arepas, tequenos, and tacos were great! Carnitas are the real deal. Live music started at 9 (Fri). We eat out a lot and this place goes into our rotation!

Fantastic service!!! Lily went out of her wait in a very welcoming and genuine way to make sure we had a memorable night. She is simply the best! Great food, great atmosphere, excellent music, good vibes and service is unmatched! I highly recommend this place! Great job
