The 25 Best Places To Eat & Drink In Hong Kong

"Peking Garden is from the same people as Maxim’s and has been serving their namesake ducks since the ’70s. Don’t be put off by the crowd of suits - the traditional-leaning food here is super popular with locals too. Obviously you need to be ordering Peking duck, but the onion cakes shouldn’t be skipped either." - jess basser sanders

The 38 Best Restaurants in Hong Kong | Eater

"For decades, local families have been celebrating with Peking Garden’s duck, beggar’s chicken (chicken baked in a pastry casing), and noodles pulled tableside. While no one minded the ’80s decor, the recent freshening up was a welcome change, making it an even better place to take in the views of Victoria Harbour, and for the right price too. We had company spring lunch in the restaurant, 3 tables at a private room, the food was so so, cos we found strands of human hair in the prawn dish, as well as the jellyfish starter, asked the restaurant to deduct some fees from the total cost, the lady pretended she had no clue even i had told them 3 times it was not acceptable to serve dish with human hair in the food, she said she cud make another dish for us but since we were disgusted w the hygiene issue, i asked them to deduct fee of the dish, the lady did not do anything at all and still charged us full price. Do not go to this restaurant as it’s not worth the money paid and it’s a rip off with such low standard service! There are plenty of restaurants which have much better service around!

A well-known Michelin starred Chinese restaurant famous for its barbecued duck. The duck is well balanced for its meat and fat, so delicious! It’s also very tasty for the sweet and sour prawns, drunken chicken, vegetables, xiao long bao, and the typical and classic Chinese dessert! My family loves it!

Great service and food. The signature combination of 10 Peking specialties is a great way to start off the meal and good for sharing. Each of them has a distinctive taste with vegan options in the mix. Highly recommend their Peking duck, really fragrant and juicy duck paired with fresh cucumber, spring onions, all wrapped in a piping hot handmade pancake. The Sichuan boiled fish gives it a really nice kick to spice up the meal. The beautifully presented toffee banana is a nice way to wrap up the meal.

I recently had a team lunch at the Peking Garden Restaurant in Central for the celebration of one of our colleague's birthday, and I have to say, the entire dining experience was incredible. It began with the moment we stepped in, the comfortable environment allowed us to have intimate conversations. The food was not only delicious but also of exceptional quality. We tried the Crispy Peking Duck, Signature Appetizer Platter, Crispy Tiny Shredded Eels, Baked Turnip Pastries etc (sorry i just took 1 photo, all others are IG stories that couldn't be uploaded here). All of them were very delicious, you will never forget the taste of each bite. Can’t complain about their food quality. The food itself cannot stand alone without excellent service. I couldn't have asked for better hospitality, especially from the restaurant manager Stanley, his attentiveness and friendliness truly made us feel welcomed & valued, elevating our dining experience throughout our time there. We will definitely come back for a 2nd visit and if you're looking for a place with good food, superb service, and a wonderful ambiance, trust me, this is the place to be. You will never be disappointed.

We went to Peking Garden for birthday dinner the other day. And everything just look soooo good and we ordered A LOT! For the cold plates we ordered a 10 small dishes platters which looks amazing and they have included both meats and vegetarian? vegan? dishes in it. For the main we ordered Kung Pao Prawn, Peking Duck FOR SURE, fish maw chieken soup with wonton, Sea Cucumber and Xiao Long Bao is a MUST. For the Kung Pao Prawns it was huge and amazing, sweet and spicy tasted nice! And when the peking duck arrived they showed you the whole duck before they cut it and it just looks sooo shiny but poor duck haha For me I like to have soup all the time and fish maw is usually pricey but here this whole pot of soup is like four hundred something?? Which is a good deal for mee, loving it! And for the sea cucumber, I think its a very collagen-y kinda food for me which I am not a big fan of. So I’ll pass. At last our Xiao Long Bao entered the chat and it was AMAZING. We waited for a min or two until we eat it as we assumed it will be boiling hot inside. With the soup having crab meat in it it just helped with the flavor and everything. It was the right thing to eat to end your meal. The staff were sooo nice they even gave us 2 pretty peach buns as birthday gift as well. But we were so full already we couldn’t even finish the birthday cake we brought, so. BTW shoutout to the staff, they changed our plates between dishes I felt privileged and they were so nice helping us with food and wine and everything as well. Turns out they also have like a bar manager there to help with alcoholic drinks and helped us to pick wine as well. What a lovely Chinese dinner.

A very tasty meal in a great setting and classic style. This restaurant has great service. The appetisers were well presented and tasty with lots of variety and chinese flavours, the Peking duck was juicy and the skin was crispy with fresh light pancakes. The prawns were massive and the spicy and numbing fish stew was a great addition to our meal. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for authentic chinese cuisine.
