Great neighborhood vibe.Super nice folks and good beer but I wish it wasn't served in plastic.

Google
Pet friendly. A great place to have a beer and just unwind. The beer is curated to be mostly local and all small brewery. The plants and exposed brick just make it comfortable. Both alcoholic and non options. Comfortable patio on Pace street. Can no recommend enough

Google
Awesome bottle shop and bar with incredible NC tap beers, a nice selection of wines, and a great selection of bottles and cans to go. Friendly bartenders, and good outdoor space as well. Great place in a great neighborhood

Alyssa

Google
Adorable, super chill neighborhood bottle shop (bonus: cute bartender 👀) with patio seating and plenty of beer/wine/seltzer options. Dog friendly too! Love this spot for a casual afternoon drink.

Robin Mehera

Google
Great bottle shop with an even better beer selection. They have space heaters outside and seating inside as well. Highly recommend.

Google
Loved this little bottle shop, it's like your hanging out in someone's warm but swanky basement bar. The Palegic had a helpful bartender and great selection, I will be back.

P RayGun

Google
Welcoming neighborhood bottle shop with rotating selection and friendly people all around.

Google
It's a nice little spot to come and have a few drinks. Quite and comfortable. I've been coming here for years! They do run clubs, so you get more chances to socialize with fellow beer lovers. There is outside seating, so it's pet friendly as well. The neighborhood is nice and the people are nice. Vast selection of local/craft beers!

Yelp
Friendly bartenders, always have the best drafts and knowledgeable about different beers! They have wine and seltzers as well. Great little neighborhood spot to grab and go or stay a while and meet new friends!

Yelp
I love everything about Pelagic. I love their selection, I love that they have non-alcoholic seltzer, I love that you can buy bottles for home or you can get a glass to stay and drink on their little patio. I even love their logo. It's such a great spot.

Yelp
I love Pelagic. The place has the feel of a low key, neighborhood beer store, but the location and well curated beer offerings elevate this place from other neighborhood joints. They always have a well chosen draft selection, and their bottles and cans encompass a wide variety of styles. The service is strong and the outside seating is a great place to people watch.

Yelp
Great drinks, wonderful service, and they were accommodating when I left my credit card.

Yelp
Pelagic: of or pertaining to the open sea This bottle shop is super cute! Plus, I loved the decor. Mom and I met for a beer before heading to dinner so I went with a Prairie Funky Gold Sour Ale on draft and Mom went with an Aviator Mad Beach from the cooler. Before I left I picked up a Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin and a bottle of wine. I will definitely be back, they had a small but great bottle selection!

Yelp
I have to say my review might be a little biased, as I come here way too often. The first impression I had coming here, over a year ago, was great. One of the owners was working and took the time to say hello and discuss the shop with me. Not every place does that. Each bartender is also really personable. I would say I've come to be friends with almost all of them. Fast forward a year plus, and I'm likely to be there at least once a week, if not more. The selection of bottles is really good. They don't just carry the Raleigh area beers, but plenty of others from around the country. They travel to places within NC to get beers that don't distribute (think Wilmington Brewing and Boojum). On top of the beer they have a decent selection of ciders and bottled wine. The draft list is usually outstanding. They use untappd, so you can see what they have on draft even before going there. They usually have one cider on draft and they have a small by the glass wine list. However, you can also grab singles out of the cooler as well to drink there. The only food they have is small snacks in the back cooler: pre-packaged cheese, meat and cracker trays, pimento cheese dip, crackers, and Escazu chocolate bars. If you need something more, you can always order to-go food from The Station at Person Street or Oakwood Pizza Box to enjoy there. Just a small item, but pretty cool, you won't see a trash can in the bottle shop. They compost and separate out the trash items for composting behind the bar. Another tip, I would recommend joining the email list. The email comes out once a week and lets you know what shipments of beer they'll be receiving that week. It's definitely a great neighborhood bar that doesn't usually get too crazy. Occasionally there can be a few too many dogs or kids in the place, but it's not near as extreme as other breweries I've been to in the Raleigh area. They have a small outdoor area that seats about 4-5 people. It's hit or miss if it'll be available. I definitely recommend it... clearly since I go there about once a week.

Yelp
It appears there is a need for this place judging from the crowd but if you simply want to buy a bottle of wine, this is not the place until they move inventory. I wanted to grab a bottle of wine but the wine is in the back of the store behind tables where patrons are. I kept saying excuse me but people were trying to enjoy their beverages and I was a nuisance trying to look at options. I simply grabbed the nearest cab to get out of there. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the wine and know that I would have purchased something better had I had the opportunity to browse. Please consider moving bottled wines to the front of your establishment for easier access when busy.

Yelp
It's no secret that bottle shops are plentiful in the downtown Raleigh area and my husband and I visited several on our recent trip but this one was probably my favorite. First and for most, it's adorable. It's on the smaller side and located a little off the main drag which to me adds to the appeal. There is patio furniture out front and big windows to make the inside bright and welcoming. They have a wide selection of local brews and ciders. They also have a rotating tap with a good variety. The server was very nice and knowledgeable (especially about ciders) which was impressive. I was given a few samples and suggestions and bought a 6 pack of cider to go. For locals they have different events such as yoga and bottle shares and they are also pet friendly. Definitely recommend checking out this little gem.

Yelp
Fantastic vibe and delicious beer. This is a short review but that just sums it up! :)

Yelp
Bottom line: Pelagic Beer & Wine is a nice place to catch a brew or two there or take some home to enjoy later. Great charm and unique feel to this little place is its appeal. Pretty good selection both in the cooler section and the take home shelves. I enjoyed not only my beverage there but the interactions with the Pelagic owners/staff. I am definitely a fan! The Deets: As the big chalkboard in this little bottle shop and bar reminds you, the definition of pelagic is "of or relating to the open sea." This new little place that has popped up just off of Person Street on Pace Street reflects that in little ways and in doing so gives it a great charm and character. Pelagic Beer & Wine is a good place to check out some great brews in a unique atmosphere. Lots of little things with sea or beach type feel...the barrels with burned in images of whales, the back sitting area that has much of a beach cottage type charm to it, the open feel of the whole shop...check out the pics I snagged. It definitely pulled a bunch of us in this weekend to check it out, so I guess it works, eh? We found many good brews to peruse and enjoy. They have their mix and match six packs with most of their cooler area, and a small area of the cooler for "enjoy there" at the bar if you'd like. They have some good stuff rotating on tap as well at the nice little bar mid store. I was pleased with the selections I saw and the Citizen Cider I ended up drinking that that I usually enjoy seeing up towards NYC. The owners/staff were very eager to share their story of how they came about and gladly answered any questions we had. I enjoyed stumbling onto this new hidden gem and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Yelp
Person Street is really starting to blow up, with the addition of Pelagic which specializes in beer and wine [with an emphasis on the beer, go to Wine Authorities for wine]. Pelagic currently offers six drafts and a cooler full of beer (as well as non-alcoholic bevies) to choose from. So what sets Pelagic apart from the plethora (yes, plethora!) of bottle shops within driving distance? Definitely the location, they're the first bottle shop in the Person/Peace Street neighborhood. The atmosphere is also great: the small, but inviting space has comfortable seating, both indoor and out, exposed brick, industrial elements with bar seats as well as private tables. The six taps offered have a great variety, there's always a cider on tap and they have some big names and vied for varieties, running $5-$6 dollars and served in plastic 14oz glasses (although note to bartenders, please serve beer all the way to the top! While that tiny portion at the top doesn't look like much, cap the top, turn a glass upside down and see how much you're missing). Overall, I think what sets Pelagic apart the most of the cozy atmosphere. I'll stop by when I'm in the area again and am excited to see how they grow overtime.

Yelp
I'm so so glad we happened to stumble upon Pelagic. This is a great example of a neighborhood bottle shop as it's literally in oakwood and I saw people walk in right off their bicycles, or sit outside with their dogs. The owner was very nice and let's you try any beer. They have a great and wide selection, and once you get your beer you can sit and enjoy inside or outside. Very charming and down to earth atmosphere that I love. I wish I frequented the oakwood neighborhood more, because I can totally see myself getting a beer or two before walking over to get dinner at the nearby restaurants. So chill and unassuming. Pelagic is a gem.

Yelp
I really love Pelagic! I've been here probably 7 or 8 times since it's a mile from my house. Great beer selection. And they allow dogs inside! Woohoo! They have good wine pours and mimosas (they are delicious). They will eventually be moving to a better location (right on Person by Crawford and Son) and I know their business is going to increase tremendously. Bartenders have always been super nice. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood bottle shop. Always a great selection of beer/wine. We love this place so much we have our neighborhood meetings here. The staff is always welcoming and glad your there.

Yelp
I love Pelagic. I love the people who run Pelagic. This is a great place to spend time (in a pre-pandemic and post-pandemic world) and right now they are doing curbside pickup.

Yelp
Why have I waited so long to check out Pelagic? I have no idea 'cause I sure was missing out. I love this bottle shop tucked away right behind Williams & Co in Oakwood. I decided to spend last Sunday Funday here and it was a blast. The space is really spacious and they have a few tables to enjoy the great outdoors as well. Though they specialize in beer they also serve wine. Since I started my day with mimosas I wasn't in the mood to switch to beer. The friendly girl working, Sara was able to make a great suggestion for wine and for $10 I enjoyed a great bottle of sparkling rose, yay! What a great neighborhood spot to have in the Oakwood area!

Yelp
This place is a rockin little gem tucked away on a side street. Awesome place that has drinks on tap, bottles/cans by the single, six pack and case. Supa fun bartender too- we love Sara!!

Yelp
If you like Beer Study in Carrboro you are going to LOVE Pelagic. A small draft and bottle shop with a nautical twist, you can try a variety of drafts, uncork your own bottle from the rack or beer fridge and enjoy free WiFi and a couple of tvs. If you are looking for a neighborhood space without the pretension of the "hidden" Atlantic Lounge next door, Pelagic will be your go-to beer spot.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Right in my backyard! I'm always looking for new places to check out, and when friends suggest Pelagic after brunch on Sunday I was excited! The lady Sara who was tending the bar did an awesome job talking to everyone and giving recommendations within their taste and budget. The little sitting area in the back was the perfect for our group. We had some very fun rounds of Headsup and felt pretty secluded and comfortable. Hopefully we did't disturb the patrons at the front table. I love that they have ample seating inside as well as outside. The weather was beautiful and I definitely took one of my beers out there to enjoy it. The neighborhood is so friendly and I will definitely be back! And they are dog friendly. Triple WIN!

Yelp
I usually love my experience here. But one bartender in particular has a terrible attitude, and doesn't like me apparently and provides a poor experience for us. I don't know them personally, so I'm not sure of the issue, but the service they provides reflects poorly on the establishment. We try our best to avoid this place in the days we know they work, but sometimes it's unavoidable and it's awful as a patron to feel unwelcome when you walk into a bar. As a bartender, your job is to be polite and provide everyone with the same experience regardless of your feelings. Moe is my particular favorite. He's kind to everyone. I love hanging at this bar but hate that I have to choose when I come here based on which bartender is working.

Yelp
It's our new favorite spot in town. The space has a lot of character, and the beer & wine selection is great. If you haven't been there yet you should ASAP.

Yelp
This is a cool little bar with a good beer selection. It is very small, but has a cool vibe.

Yelp
This is a cool place to grab a beer or pick up beer for later! They have a run club on Monday nights (6:15p). They have a good rotating draft list and lots of selection in the shop portion. The owner is friendly.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for fun, friends and great beer. Chip R and I found this little gem a few months ago and the place always brings us back. In a city with a lot of great choices for beer Pelagic stands out in the crowd. They always have a great selection of beers and ciders. Sara, has been behind the bar the past few times we've been and and she always recommends great beers. She knows her customers and is fun to talk and hang out with while you kick back.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Great little bottle shop/bar. Really odd assortment of ciders but I've tried some that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to otherwise and found a few I'm a big fan of. I'd like a few less exciting/bizarre cider options but beer-drinking friends love the variety! *Update* Half price glasses of wine on Thursday nights here has become one of my favorites.

Yelp
Sunday fun day adventures with the Raleigh Yelp crew ended here at Pelagic. Unfortunately I was having too much fun to take pictures or check out the selection of beer & wine. They had a few local beers on draft but I decided to polish off a delicious bottle of Rose. Hands down the best service I have ever received! Sarah made sure our glasses were never empty she even came outside to provide us refills. She was also super sweet when we were clearly getting too loud and disturbing other customers. My friends live in the neighborhood and now I understand why this is there go to hang out spot. Next time I am in Raleigh this is where I would like to get drunk or purchase something fun to take out.

Matt Y.

Yelp
Pelagic is everything you want from a neighborhood shop: Roots in the community, people who care about the quality of the business and the service, and good beer. Ok, strictly speaking, beer is not necessary to be a good neighborhood shop, but neighborhood shops with beer, they're a little easier to like. If you're in the Person St area, drop by this place. The selection is great, the crowd friendly, and there is always a dog or two to pet.

Yelp
If you're looking for a relaxing laid back atmosphere to have s few drinks this is the perfect spot! The small rustic space keeps it intimate and casual but the interior is beautiful. Dogs and children are welcome, so it's much more of a friendly atmosphere than a few other local bottleshop/bars. Thursday was half price glasses of wine! They had 8 different choices of wine for only 2.50! On tap they had local breweries. I tried the compass rose IPA and was highly impressed! I'll be going back on Thursdays for sure!
google avatar

Rick H.

Yelp
They bring in several beers that aren't distributed in Raleigh, including the NoDa Hop, Drop & Roll IPA from Charlotte. Great selection of drafts, too.

Carson N.

Yelp
Okay. I didn't know about this place. I just happened to be in the area and walked in. Staff were awesome. Nice, laid back. As a former Ashevillain, I felt perfectly at home there - just the right levels of cool, not giving a $!@#, and beer enthusiasm. The lady at the taps encouraged me to try a couple different things before I got my pour, which she also recommended. It was a dark and heavy stout, exactly what I was looking for. I sat in comfort, chatted with the owner, and was impressed with the boutique atmosphere and style. Not only that, I found my favorite tall-boy on sale for less than it costs at the actual brewery, 250 miles away. What more can you ask for? Atmosphere, nice staff, good beer, fair prices.
google avatar

Kelly A.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Great selection of beer, wine, and cider. Hip and relaxing atmosphere. Dog friendly. What more could you ask for?
