Pelicana Chicken serves Korean fried chicken, snacks, and drinks made to impress! The wait was LONG on a Friday night around 9PM, so be prepared to stand around for at least an hour if you go when it's busy. The ambiance was fun, which made the wait a little more bearable - lots of KPop, music videos, and cute Christmas decor. Plus, you can always walk around the shopping center and grab a boba tea or something.
Once we were seated, a server quickly came to take our order. We ordered the Smokey Ice Highball Tower, which was an impressive table-sized, light up drink dispenser cooled by dry ice - the dry ice gave it its fun smokey effect! It was a combo of Soju and beer which my friends really liked.
For appetizers we tried the Peli shaken fries and Peli cheese balls. The fries were very different, but I liked them. They had a sort of Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them; it tasted a little artificial, but it definitely helped to cut the heat of the spicy wings we ordered! The Peli cheese balls stole the show, though. Small balls of savory cheese wrapped in a sweet bread and fried to perfection - delicious! I would go back to Pelicana just for these cheese balls.
We tried the signature fried chicken and the hot spicy. Both were very good, but both were also pretty sweet. The texture of the fried chicken was on point - a perfect amount of batter for crunchy skin but juicy chicken. Beware: the hot spicy is HOT & SPICY! I find I can handle spice pretty well and this gave me a run for my money.
Overall, I would highly recommend Pelicana Chicken. Just be prepared for a meal more on the sweet side and less on the savory
