Pelicana Chicken

I was getting service done at Hennessy Lexus and had my godson with me. It's was lunchtime so went walking around H mart and saw a food court. He wanted to try this place because they had spicy fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich is huge and he loved it. It's actually too much for a kid. He loves spicy food but said it wasn't spicy to him. I got the crispy battered wings. Half no sauce and half sweet n spicy level 1 heat. The wings were definitely delicious. Pouch lemonade was also good.

Pelicana Korean Chicken was absolutely fabulous! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively with great music that set the perfect vibe for the evening. The service was incredibly impressive—quick, friendly, and attentive. Now, let’s talk about the chicken—super crunchy and so delicious, it’s easily the best I’ve had! I especially loved the scallion sauce, which added a fresh, flavorful kick, and the rice cakes were a perfect complement. We ended with a nice hot Korean coffee! A superb finisher. If you’re looking for amazing Korean fried chicken and a great overall dining experience, Pelicana is the place to go!

Convenient location for Pelicana in the H-Mart Doraville food court. The service was great-- the person who helped us at the front made recommendations and was so nice and patient. We got the Ugly Fried Chicken Sandwich with truffle mayo, side of fries with seasoning, and the half chicken with the spicy batter (half honey garlic, half original). The chicken sandwich was nicely fried and the truffle was potent. It can come with or without pickles. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The seasoning for the fries is a cheese powder. The fried chicken with the "crispy spicy batter" option was tasty on its own. The honey garlic was delicious as well. The chicken came with a side of pickled radish and coleslaw. Everything came out and tasted as expected. Really hits the spot. Only thing to be wary about is that the H-Mart food court has limited seating during the lunch and dinner rush since it's shared seating with all the other restaurants.

I just finished eating my lunch. I got an order of the half and half fried chicken. I don't normally write reviews but trying their fried chicken out was the best thing that happened to me all week. As soon as I took my first bite I had to pause and think if this actually is real. The chicken both crispy and juicy and the flavors came all together. Not a single part of the chicken was dry. The customer service was also amazing, greeted with smiles and great recommendation. This isn't one of the best fried chicken spots in town, it is THE BEST. Thank you guys so much for bringing this to the community. I can't wait to come back and try out more options on the menu.

First time ordering from this place. It’s in the HMART food court, which is known to have some amazing foods. I ordered 30 piece bone in wings for about $51 which was pricey, but it sure was delicious! Their chicken is cooked hot and fresh so it took about 15-20 minutes. I did half BBQ and half Honey Garlic, all CRISPY. I brought it to a poolside hang out and my friends loved it! Also, the cashier girl and the man working with her were very sweet.

I promise the only reason I did not give this meal 1 star is because I’ve been up for 30 hours evacuating and the food I ordered was going to take a minute. Chicken: dark meat 8/10 breasts 2/10 dry asl and over cooked. Looks like the threw a bottle of parsley on it to the point it looked bluish to the eye (not in the picture). The truffle fries 4/10 these fries were literally drenched in truffle oil. Add parm or something because those fries were mid The okra 3/10 use fresh okra. That frozen breaded okra tastes like a cafeteria and since the okra was frozen before being breaded and fried, many exhumed that thick skin that’s hard and gross. Tasted like it was seasoned with salt AND pepper.

This Korean chicken is the best Korean chicken I have ever tried in the States. It was real authentic Korean-style chicken. Not only did it taste really good, but it was also the most hygienic food I’ve ever had. The owner of the restaurant was really friendly, which was totally different from the food court inside H Mart in Ridgefield, NJ. The Korean middle-aged woman cashier in NJ forced a tip even though I ordered take out.

Customer service is so friendly and fast. Food is fresh and smell so good when it comes out The chicken was so soft and tender. First time trying here and definitely will try others next time.

While it was a little pricey, the food was excellent. My friend, who has had Korean fried chicken before said it was very good! The happy chicken portion was a lot and I had plenty to take home. Super crispy is the way to go. Everyone there was so polite. I will go back!

Honestly everything was as expected for a food court fried chicken. Ordered takeout and took about 10m to get home - chicken was still crispy. Well flavored and not too salty or sweet. The sandwich could use more slaw. Probably would just go for chicken next time. I would def return!

Pretty solid chicken place. It's located in the hmart food court and is decently quick to get your food. We did the salad and honey garlic chicken. The quality of the chicken is great and it doesn't seem too saucey. You get a lot of food for your money. Would recommend trying it out if you're in the area.

WINNER WINNER PELICANA CHICKEN DINNER |when craving a quick little fried chicken snack, why not head to the H-Mart food court and pick up a cup chicken (popcorn chicken). There are various flavors, although the best one is the sweet & spicy - choose the level you like based on your tolerance. I tried a couple of the other flavors, the white cheese and the honey garlic. The white cheese is powdered, not saucy, so the chicken got a little dry. So saucy options are the way to go! Definitely a great option for a quick snack after a grocery shopping trip.

Based on previous reviews I had really high expectations for this place. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I had hoped. The order took almost 40 minutes to come out. There wasn't a big line and it wasn't super busy so i am not sure what was happening. We ordered and ate food from the neighboring stall well before our order from here came out. Once it came out they forgot our side sauces. They fixed it and the spicy ranch was pretty tasty. The boneless cup of chicken was ok. It was heavily sauced but a generous portion. The bone in wings were ordered spicy. It had a good heat. The fries were so salty!!!!! They also needed to be crispier. Overall with all of the other options here and just outside in the plaza I wouldn't be in a huge hurry to come back.

The chicken was fresh, hot, crispy, and juicy -- perfect in every imaginable way. Each batch is made to order so it can take more than 20 minutes but your patience is well paid off!

I ordered soy breast whole bone in chicken with sweet spicy lv2 sauce and original batter and large size of truffle fries. It was so good and the chicken doesn't smell like chicken smell or oil. The truffle fries was my favorite

Ended up getting a half Soy Garlic(honey garlic) or whatever. Sign was a little confusing. The chicken was tasty but not as crunchy as I hoped for since I asked for the extra crunchy style based on their menu. I feel the sauce was maybe too liquid and not cooked off enough to where it could stick well to the chicken. So it was more drenched and not a glaze like I've gotten elsewhere. Still tasty, just a preference. The fries were also good. They have that bit of batter around them that makes them extra crunchy. You could have a solid snack of just those if you wanted. The lady was nice. The atmosphere is loud since it's in the H-Mart food court. Lots of really good food here overall. Mostly Korean if your family do not want to eat unknown foods, Pelicana is a good place to go since you can basically get "chicken nuggets" here and you can get other foods or simply come here for the KFC fix. Either way is good. Have 4 stars as it's good but not the best. Will try again to see if the other flavors are better.

The chicken was solid overall, it was crunchy and looked good and had a staff that was very efficient with getting orders complete. As a person who doesn't really like chicken with sauces, I was little disappointed that the chicken wasn't as well seasoned as I thought it would be. I would recommend others to give it a try at least once especially if you live in Home Park.

This place serves great fried chicken with a good amount of sauce on them. I ordered the soy garlic boneless chicken and they were a good size with the sauce not being too light or overwhelming. The service was quick, I was able to get my food in under 10 minutes. There was also a lot of seating available and it was very clean in their food court. This is a great place inside Hmart to grab a bite after shopping.

So me and my family were visiting Atlanta and saw that there was a Pelicana chicken and had already eaten at the one in Dallas which was great ,and let me tell you the one in Atlanta did not let us down ,OMG great food , great service , and great atmosphere . We will visit this place again !!!

Food court style restaurant in the H mart, which of course means shopping after eating. Service was fast food court style, with a beeper for when food is ready. Food court ambiance, nothing fancy. Can easily get multiple items from multiple stalls which is nice. Good prices and great tasting food. Cheeseball appetizer highly recommended. Will be back.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the foods I get but I forget every time! :( I've came here twice and the first time I got chicken by itself, it was sooooo good. I dipped it in some honey garlic sauce that they have. The chicken came out VERY hot, which I loved because you know it's freshly cooked. The second time I went, I got s chicken sandwich, which of course was amazing. Still came out super hot, so be careful! Lol. Not sure if it's a downside for anyone else. But the chicken patty is so big, the bun looks like a mini bun. Great protein, but I wish the buns were bigger to fit the sandwich. The service is great! And I love going into h mart, just a world of wonders. You can find anything there!

Pretty good food. I think their boneless option would be better. My wings were very saucy and it is just not what I was expecting. I got honey mustard wings with their spicy breading. Very good, just saucy. The service was pretty good. I was the only one waiting and got my food in about 10 or so minutes. This location is in a shopping center, so not too great of a vibe. Good food. Would go again, but to get the boneless option.

Took forever to get the food. Spicy original was not great. I would have preferred Popeyes or Chick-fil-A for that price.

This is one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places in metro Atlanta. They have multiple locations but my favorite is the Duluth location. Usually when I get fried chicken, it either feels like they aren't crispy enough or they're crispy but not flavorful enough. Pelicana can do both.

Pretty mid. Ordered the chicken sandwich, fried whole chicken, and truffle fries. Chicken sandwich was pretty good but not enough to justify price. Fried whole chicken was below average as some pieces were dry. Fries were also below average with some fries being overly greasy and soggy. Save your money and try another place.

While eating food from a vendor in the food court at H Mart, I noticed that Pelicana Chicken was finally open in another food stall there. This business specializes in Korean fried chicken, providing customers instructions on how to order the fried chicken: Step 1. Choose your chicken (pieces, or whole or half chicken), Step 2. Chose your batter (original, crispy, original spicy or crispy spicy), Step 3. Select a Signature sauce (if desired). Other menu items are soy garlic chicken, grilled wings, numerous appetizers and snacks, salads, Ugly Fried Chicken Sandwich, Cup Chicken, and various types of drinks. According to a sign on the menu, meals are coming soon that include fried rice. Ordering was a quick transaction, and the employee taking orders at the counter answered all of my questions. I ordered the Cup Chicken with level 1 sweet and spicy sauce for us to share, since I just wanted to snack on something from Pelicana Chicken after already eating a meal. After paying at the counter, I was given a very small pager, that lit up and sounded an annoying audible alarm that let me know my food was ready to pick up at the counter. The cup of chicken was on the small side. Chunks of lightly battered and slightly crispy chicken with a sweet chili-ish type of sauce drizzled on the chicken filled the small cup. I wish I hadn't ordered the added sauce, because I really wanted to be able to taste the full fried chicken flavor for my first Pelicana Chicken experience. The chicken wasn't greasy and was nicely done. I would suggest this as a small snack, but I also think that the small portion is not worth $6 for the chicken and another $1 for the added sauce. The quality of this snack is high, and clearly has a better flavor than the popcorn chicken found at most tea places on Buford Highway. I plan on coming back in the future to try other menu items.

Very happy to have a Korean Fried Chicken option available in the Doraville Super H Mart food court! I had first noticed the Pelicana Chicken name in the Super H Mart shopping center in Duluth, and saw they had good reviews. Ordered the Cup Chicken for $8 - great size option for one person. Didn't opt for the sauces which is $1, and just wanted to check out the regular fried version as my benchmark. Brought it home, and was pleased it still stayed very crispy! The skin & the meat was flavorful, and had a slight kick to it too. My favorite part was the crispiness. The cashier and the lady making the chicken were very nice. The only downside is the wait time. Like all KFC locations, the chicken is made-to-order ... so it's a trade-off. I think psychologically, waiting 20 min in a restaurant feels more acceptable ... waiting 20 min in a crowded food court with COVID anxiety feels extra long. Peeking inside the kitchen, saw just two ladies ... extra help in the back might speed things up except the space is pretty small. It was clear Pelicana Chicken (and the hot dog stall next door) were most popular, and there was a lot of people w/ the vibrating pagers waiting for their orders. Come w/ patience :) Next time I'd like to try their flavored versions, and some of the side dishes.

This is the location at the H Mart Doraville food court. Service has been terrible each of the 3 times I've been here. Same cashier. First time: He was yucking it up with someone instead of taking orders. 3 of us were waiting to order. Second time: waited 35 minutes for a half fried chicken - their main menu item. Got my order, went to car and realized that they had given me the wrong order. Third time, today: ordered on their website. It said the order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived in 20. He said my order was coming. I got my food 56 minutes after I ordered it. And the cashier seemed to give zero effs. So different than the Georgia Tech location. Love that spot.

Was pretty good but not as great as I've had in before. Will have to go back and try again and hope that it's still good as I remember it from other Pelicana joint. It just did not seem as crispy as other location I used to go to.

Delicious! The fried chicken was amazing and the serving size was huge. I also got one of the juice pouches and it was pretty good. Very friendly and great service - the food may take a bit so please be patient. It was worth it though and really hit the spot. Thanks!

I am a returning customer & I am obsessed with the chicken here. The sauce is well coated on the chicken and the chicken is fried to perfection - even with options of crispy batter or regular batter. Chicken also comes with sour pickled radish to cut the fat/dense taste, although the chicken does not feel greasy or overwhelming at all. Flavors pair perfectly and chicken stays crispy for a long time. The honey garlic and garlic wings honestly taste pretty similar lol both are sweet. If you're not a fan of sweet and salty the sauces might not be for you. My only complaint is that on busy days the wait time can be quite long (up to 20-ish minutes for any order).

I ordered popcorn chicken which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It costed $10 which was a bit expensive for the size, but worth the money since it was delicious!

We ate here on Saturday. Omg. We had the wings and macaroni bites. Everything was fresh and delicious. The customer service was excellent. The young woman was patient and answered my questions with a smile. As for the ambiance, it's a food court. Will definitely visit again.

Super friendly service, the owner gave us a free side salad. Chicken is always delicious and crunchy so it hits the spot. Perfect for those post-grocery munchies!

I forgot to take pictures but this was a nice place to grab a quick bite at the food court of H-mart. I was not expecting too much but it was really filling. I got the popcorn chicken and it came in a cute cup. Nothing too amazing but it was still really enjoyable. It is a bit pricey than I would expect however.

First time trying the chicken sandwich. I got the spicy ranch sauce. The sauce has a light kick which is perfect for me. The chicken is nice and moist on the inside, and is crispy on the outside. Not too much batter. I'd recommend trying for sure.

Wait may be long but the flavor is worth it! If you're in a rush, i'd call ahead to order over the phone or place the order and get groceries, not leave 1 or 2 stars- it means they're freshly making your food smh reminds me of the pelicana I had growing up in Korea. The owner was there on a Saturday afternoon and she was very friendly & kind!

This is the best spot to go! Especially late night after the club! Richard is the best server! Tap in with Pelicana Chicken on 14th street & ask for Richard. AND THE SOJU IS AMAZING!!!

The only reason I didn't give these guys 1 star is because when I first started coming it was good but I'd say my 4th time I noticed my chicken was still pink and soft I have serious texture issues so I literally gagged I don't have a lot of lunch options being I work in the plaza and have no car I gave them another chance but this time I emphasized "make it extra extra crispy" she agreed but this is what I got.

This is the first time I've been to this Pelicans location. It's located in the H Mart food court, which is nice because you can pick up food on the way out of grabbing groceries. I got the half chicken with bone in. Got two sauces- the spicy garlic lvl 2 and the honey garlic. Both were very good. The chicken was cooked really nicely- very tender and crispy at the same time. I also got an order of truffle fries- freshly made. The only downside would be that there was a 15 min or so wait. That's not terrible considering your food is made to order. I wanna go back already.

I've been wanting to try Korean fried chicken for a while now and was shopping at h mart and decided to stop and try it and I was not disappointed at all!!! The chicken was so crispy and the sauce paired so nicely with it. My friend got the honey garlic and I got the sweet and spicy level one and both were amazing. The fries were nice and crispy with the perfect amount of seasoning. The service was amazing. The lady at the counter was so sweet!! I'll definitely be back it was so delicious!!

Every time I come H Mart I always have to get the old reliable chicken sandwich! The best in town! Don't miss out and the fries be seasoned up to perfection! I love it !

The best Korean chicken! Giant wings! Always fresh and crispy and cooked perfectly moist inside. Staff is so so sweet and accommodating compared to the other stalls at this food court. Not stingy with napkins and containers, etc. we always get the 20 wings and are able to bring home leftovers after eating there and stuffing our bellies to happiness!

Our favorite chicken joint in Atlanta. The chicken wings with the level 2 spicy is the absolute best. It has the right amount of spicy, sweet, and crunch. The truffle fries are superb too. We rave about this place to all our friends and they all agree-- this place is delicious. Note that since the chicken is made to order, the wait can be long. I recommend ordering before you go grocery shopping.

Waited over 40 min for my 10 wings. Wings tasted pretty good, but it is overpriced. $14 for 10 wings, and they charge $2 for each sauce. For that price, 1 sauce should be included...or at least include a larger portion of pickled radish. There were maybe 7 tiny pieces in the container. I'll stick to the other KFC locations in the area, where the wait time to get your order isn't so ridiculous. Someone was even asking for a refund because their order was taking too long!

Terrible service ! Good food . The service experience was very "HURRY UP AND AND BUYISH" I ordered an avocado grilled chicken salad and they Macaroni bites which were basic and still cold . Before my order was done, I asked the guy for something to use to wipe my table off. He gave me 2 thin little napkins. I then go back to get my salad and realize the one little cup of ranch was not enough. So I went back to counter and proceeded to ask for more ranch ! Mind you my total was already 21$ The guy decided to go back and forth with me about how much ranch was given. Long story short, he was very rude during my entire experience and I won't recommend anyone to this spot after being treated poorly. The salad was delicious but be prepared to pay for another half of cup of ranch .
