At Pelicana, chicken and beer towers make for great group dinners - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"When everything is riding on a fun Friday night dinner, you don’t need much to guarantee success, and Pelicana gets it. It’s a place where the only thing taller than the mountains of soy-soaked fried chicken is the frosty soju beer tower billowing with smoke from dry ice. It’s a place where you have a good shot at getting a table quickly. And it’s a place where the speakers are always playing good tunes and the TVs are always playing sports. The craggy dredged poultry is way better than it has any right to be, and even though we’ll remember Bill’s On Broadway fondly (RIP), we can all agree—Pelicana is the upgrade that Cap Hill nightlife needed." - Aimee Rizzo

Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken and Salad Chain Sweetgreen Come to Capitol Hill | Eater Seattle

"I noted that the Korean fried chicken chain had planned to open at 725 East Pine Street in Capitol Hill before the summer, but permitting delays and other setbacks pushed the opening to either this weekend or next week; on October 27 Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reported owner J Hwang is “still working on the exact timing.” The new location will occupy the former home of Bill’s Off Broadway, a 40-year-old bar that closed during the pandemic." - Eater

I've heard good things about the chicken for years and wow, was it awesome. J got the -crispy- half chicken with garlic sauce for 19 dollars. I was wincing at the price tag initially but the portion was enormous. I could not eat it all and I can eat a lot. The chicken was crunchy and saucy, so juicy and tender and there was ample meat on the bone. They did not skimp in quality or quantity. I highly recommend going. Next time I will take a friends and order the whole chicken which seems like a really awesome deal for price. I will come back for sure! PS R.I.P. bills off Broadway cap hill missed you

Google
Cool place to get some Korean fried chicken and drinks. The place is located in a popular area of town with lots of foot traffic. We ordered the garlic and regular chicken to share as well as some drinks. They have an electronic pad that you can order food from as well as call your server to get you anything else you may need. The service is pretty prompt.

Google
It’s been two years since my last visit, and I noticed the food quality has dropped a lot while the service was awful. I understand the tablet ordering system, but whenever the food was served, it felt like they just tossed it at us. The checkout experience was even worse.

Google
The first time I had crispy chicken wings from pelicana, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. So plump, so juicy and flavorful! Steaming hot, with delicious sauces and side dishes so good they could be the main course. The first time. After a few months I realized their chicken quality is inconsistent across the menu. I suppose that's to be expected? But it's on the pricey side, and I'm not always willing to gamble on chicken quality. However there's nothing wrong with popping in for a beer and fries, onion rings or the always amazing, if not always available, peli balls. They do reality need to step up the overall cleanliness. Everything inside has that slightly sticky, tacky feel like it's never been properly wiped down. The windows are filthy. But the staff are so, so nice, they will never not be friendly, and the music and atmosphere is usually fun. If you're a fan of wings in particular, you have to try this place at least once!

Google
Pelicana Chicken in Capitol Hill is a gem! The Korean fried chicken wings are insanely crispy and bursting with flavor—their signature sauces are a game-changer. Portions are generous, and the fries come out perfectly golden every time. The staff is super friendly, and the vibe makes it a great spot for a casual meal. Always leaves me craving more! 5/5 stars.

Google
Pelicana offers a solid Korean fried chicken experience with some hits and misses. The chicken has a great crunch and texture, but it tends to be on the dry side. However, the saving grace is their sauces—they have a variety of flavorful combinations that really elevate the dish. The fries and fried cheese are also standout sides, crispy and satisfying. While the chicken could be juicier, it’s still a good spot for fried chicken lovers, and I’d recommend giving it a try!

Google
really only come here for fried chicken and tteokbokki. the food is pretty consistent but this location is always out of something. out of sauce or multiple sauces. out of appetizers. out of bone in/boneless. it’s kinda ridiculous. this is a great place for korean fried chicken as far as a chain goes, but i’m tired of gambling everytime i come to find out what i can actually order.

Google
Since my coworkers love Korean fried chicken, we often get together to order it online. The crispy fried chicken here has that perfect crunch, and when you add sauces, it really reminds me of the flavors from Korean chicken places. My top picks are definitely the Spicy Sauce and Honey Soy Sauce – they’re just the best! I’d recommend ordering the wings if you want a slightly more flavorful experience, though a whole chicken is delicious too. The tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and cheese balls are tasty, though, to be honest, I still think the cheese balls back in Korea are a little better. But they’re still a nice treat here! One thing that keeps me coming back is how friendly the staff is. Almost every time I visit, the servers are super welcoming, which makes the meal even more enjoyable. Thanks for always serving up such tasty chicken.

Yelp
Got take out, just genuinely good food! The spicy chicken was gas and the owner was super nice. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Really yummy Korean style fried chicken. The kimchi udon is super good, very comforting and flavorful broth with perfectly textured noodles. The restaurant is also super cute and conveniently located in cap hill!

Yelp
We are regular diners at Pelicana in Cali and unfortunately this location totally missed the mark. Service was unacceptable and ruined our meal. We were seated quickly but it went downhill from there. We ordered from the kiosk and the food came out fine, but I asked for 3 cups of ice and we were brought only one. Then I had to chase someone down to order steamed rice and she said they ran out and it would take an hour to make. It was her facial expression and tone that bothered me the most, as if I was inconveniencing her. I then asked if we could get extra radishes and she kind of just rolled her eyes. Although the KFC was tasty, I lost my appetite and just wanted to get out of there.

Yelp
Been to Pelicana many times and it's a classic favorite. Went on a Saturday of memorial weekend for lunch and it was pretty empty for like 1pm which surprised me, I was also bummed to realize they don't do cocktails until 4pm as we were trying to get some drinks before a kpop concert later. But we just got lemon soju which we had never heard of before which was good. Service was very nice and friendly and the waiter even asked us how the lemon soju was bc it's a new flavor that he hadn't even tried yet. The chicken was good, the corn cheese was alright I felt a little oiler than usual and not cooked enough. Overall super nice spot also love the corner windows which makes it bright and a nice spot to watch people walk

Yelp
The chicken is perfectly fried and crispy, but honestly the fries are hands down the best I've had in all of Seattle! The music's usually loud, but it adds to the vibe. Staff is always super nice too!

Yelp
Tried first time since Bonchon chicken out of business in First Hill neighborhood. It was not taste like Korean Fried Chicken but, more like Buffalo Wings at Apple bees. I ordered 9 pieces wings but, I received wings and drumsticks together. Not coming back.

Yelp
Got the chicken gangjeong via doordash and she was crispy, perfectly sweet and salty but im pretty sure she hates rice cakes which is part of her. I will always come back to pelicana for a good korean fried chicken fix but literally having one and a half piece of a rice cake about the size of my fingernail was definitely a lowlight of my experience.

Yelp
When I think of Korean fried chicken or fried chicken in general, I think of good quality, crispy chicken. Unfortunately, my visit here left a lot to be desired, which is such a bummer, especially when Wingstop is going to be opening up the street pretty soon and Dave's Hot Chicken is also nearby - Pelicana better step up it's game if it plans to stay relevant with these other chicken spots so close! I like that you can order your items on the kiosk at your table, and can continue to add items throughout your meal - you can also ask for water refills and the check when you're done. It does take half the work out of the waitstaff since they're only delivering items to you without ever checking on how things are going. We ordered the cheese balls, a ban/ban (half and half) chicken, which is served half original and half sauced (we chose hot spicy). We also got an order of radish. The cheese balls were warm, gooey with a lightly crisp outside, and served with honey mustard?? I thought the honey mustard was a weird pairing so I ate the cheese balls as they were, which were good. The chicken was served with a fairly large space between the two servings - I assume because they didn't want the saucy pieces to touch the plain pieces, but it did make for an odd appearance. The sauce was surprisingly, actually spicy, which seems silly to say but I have a pretty high spice tolerance and have never been to a Korean fried chicken spot that had actually spicy chicken. I hate to admit it but it was a little unpleasant. I think what added to the unpleasantness was the fact that the chicken itself was very dry and seemed like it was cooked hours before. It definitely gave off twice-reheated leftovers vibes and a lot of the pieces had more bone than meat, so I think we ended up leaving a bigger pile than what actually made it into our stomachs. Overall, not great. But I would be willing to give it another try, maybe during a busier time when I know food *should* be fairly freshly made.

Yelp
Came across this place by accident while seeing a show at the Erickson Theater across the street. All the Korean fried chicken looked very good, and the staff was awesome. Seemed like mostly Korean patrons and they were enjoying it. Seemed like a good place to watch sports also. Very cozy interior on a rainy night.

Yelp
I have not dined here but my friends have brought it over to my place two different times now. Also, please note that I have had Pelicana since 1989. They are one of the OG Korean Fried Chicken chains. I remember when TV commercials would come on and I asked my mom to order one for me for delivery. It cost around 4 dollars back then for the whole chicken. Good old days. I am a huge fan of Korean Fried Chicken that tastes like Pelicana. Why? Because they are THE OG. This is the golden standard of Korean Fried Chicken. No, they are not supposed to be extra super crispy. No, they are not supposed to be spicier. No, they are not supposed to be sweeter. This is how it should taste and Pelicana somehow preserved the sauce over 30+ years. Very close to my memories from childhood. With that said, I will note that the chicken did feel a bit dry today, compared to 2 or 3 years ago. No real complaints though. Definitely recommended. I do need to make it out there to enjoy the dining experience as well. Looks like they open until 2am!

Yelp
I really liked our visit here. We love spicy Korean chicken & fried chicken. The flavor is really good. I'm looking forward to coming back ever since.

Yelp
Terrible service! I made an order on their website and was told it would take about 30 minutes. When I arrived they said another 10 minutes. I kept inquiring and finally after another 40 MINUTES they admitted that the order never came through and it was never made. They then said it would take ANOTHER 15 MINUTES. I got my refund and left. Shame since I was dying to try some food here for some time. Will never come here ever.

Yelp
It's been a while since Pelicana has opened in the Cap Hill area, and I was able to check out this restaurant a couple more times since the time of my first review. Unfortunately, I would say that Pelicana has downgraded in turns of quality and service. First things first, on more recent visits to Pelicana, service would be extremely variable. There are times where you would get your food immediately, and there are times where you have to wait about 40-60 minutes to receive your order. I understand restaurants can be busy, but just straight up forgetting that you are servicing a table is not good. We inquired about our food, and when we received it to go, they still got our order wrong! We ordered some garlic flavor wings, and got parmesan instead. The quality of the chicken is more variable too - the chicken pieces are more boney and drier then when they first opened. Sort of like they intentionally pick the not as desirable pieces when serving so they can say they got you whole set. The fried batter isn't as light and crispy as it used to be and some of the pieces give you a "fried earlier and from a older batch" feeling. In the end, I think the new Pelicana can't really compare to the old Pelicana when I first visited this restaurant. I think this location is better suited as a bar meetup rather than a place you go to eat a meal. It's more a mixed bag visiting Pelicana, and I would be prepared if you decide to visit.

Yelp
I ordered half plain and half yangnyeom chicken, batter and sauces were great but chicken wasn't as juicy as I would have hoped for. Kimchi fried rice was delicious and adding fried egg on top is a must. Cheese balls were ok, it's served with a side of honey mustard but I wish it was cheese sauce. Pelicana fries were crispy and good, if you like artificial cheese powder then you would like this! Service is attentive and ambiance is great for group settings

Yelp
After a recent trip to Korea, I had lots of Korean fried chicken and definitely tried the big 3 chains: bbq, kyochon and bhc. Pelicana definitely doesn't fall short in terms of flavor! I had both the plain chicken as well as the one with sauce. I like that Pelicana doesn't drown the chicken in sauce, which many other kfc restaurants do. When I went, there were also a lot of Koreans that were there also, so I assume it must also meet their standards! The restaurant was dimly lit at night, which matched the vibe and made it feel cozy. Overall satisfied with the chicken here and would come again!

Yelp
Oh my gosh! What a shame on me, as a Yelp Elite, that I haven't checked out Pelicana until now. I've known about Pelicana for a long time as it's a well-established brand in South Korea with a rich history. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Pelicana had opened in Seattle. Recently, I've heard rave reviews from my friends who have tried it, so I knew I had to visit as a dedicated Yelper. First of all, the restaurant is located in the heart of Capitol Hill, where all the excitement happens, making it easy to find. Parking can be a bit tough in Capitol Hill, but there is a large parking garage right across from the restaurant. Street parking is also available and free after 10 PM. When my friend and I walked in last night at 10 PM, we were greeted by the server and promptly seated. With Korean chicken trending globally, the place was already bustling with people in both the bar and regular seating areas. It seems many patrons enjoy the bar area for drinks, where all the tables have high chairs. Since we're not big fans of high chairs, we opted for a table in the regular dining area to enjoy our late-night dinner. The menu was accessible through a QR code available on the table, making it easy to browse all the offerings. Pelicana offers not only chicken items but also many other Korean food items as sides. We ordered Crispy Fried Chicken - half with Original sauce and the other half with Garlic sauce. For drinks, we chose Peach-flavored Soju. Pelicana offers many different options for Soju, ensuring a special experience for Soju lovers. As soon as the Crispy Fried Chicken arrived, we were busy taking pictures and then immediately tried the chicken while it was still warm. We were amazed by the taste and flavor. The portion size was generous, easily enough to feed four people with one whole chicken at only $33. The chicken was fresh and tender, with the bones showing how well it was cooked. It was perfectly fried to a crisp. Pelicana offers two options for battering their chicken: Original, a single thin layered batter, and Crispy, a double crispy layered batter. For first-timers, I strongly recommend the Crispy batter. Korean chicken is all about crispiness and sauce flavor. The original sauce is Pelicana's signature sauce, perfectly balancing spiciness and sweetness. The Garlic sauce was also delicious, making it hard to stop eating. Chicken pairs well with any alcohol, but Soju and Beer are the perfect combinations. Since we were so impressed with the chicken, we decided to try the side menu. Although the server recommended Kimchi Udon and Ddukbokki as top sellers, we opted for Chicken Gizzard Stir Fried and Cheese Balls. Unfortunately, they were out, so we ordered Cheese Buldak instead. OMG! The Cheese Buldak was hot and spicy but incredibly tasty. It made us cry but we couldn't stop eating because it was so addictive. Pelicana is now my go-to place for Korean chicken. If you're in the mood for chicken and want the best crispy and flavorful chicken with great alcohol options, this is the place to check out.

Yelp
Parking in this area is a nightmare but luckily there's a garage nearby ($15). Seating is really cramped and tight in here, not the best place to bring more than 4 people.
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
Wanted something for lunch and found this place. There is only Street parking. Walking in there is plenty of seating. It was after lunch so it was quiet. I was greeted and taken to a register where the Menu/QR Code is. Look at the prices...food is kinda pricey...just letting you know. I ordered Crispy Regular Chicken Wings, Crispy Double Breaded Honey Soy Wings & Fries. Regular Wings were good....Honey Soy Wings were good. The Wings come in 9 or 18 pieces....Wings are big...make sure your eyes match your stomach. Fries were crispy and good. If want some wings swing by and check this place out.

Yelp
decent chicken when ur in cap hill and need some late night noms I didn't care for the mozzarella sticks or fries but good vibes!

Yelp
Pretty solid Korean Fried Chicken spot! Located in Cap Hill and open late! We got takeout to save us the trouble of parking. The fried chicken was flavorful and crispy! Love the radishes that it came with and we also ordered their mochi cheese bread balls which were really tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
Pelicana is a solid Korean Fried Chicken joint. It is a chain from Korea. Everytime I've went the chicken has been flavorful and juicy, but service can be a bit hard to track down. It's a spacious and fun place to eat with your friends, but they're usually pretty busy. On our last visit they accidentally gave us an order from another table and charged us for their drinks on our bill.
google avatar

Dia G.

Yelp
I went to pelicana recently and it was fine! Not necessarily good enough for me to be going back every day, but if i ever want fried chicken it's a solid choice! Sweet potato fries were good and fried rice was also fine (but it's not exactly their specialty so) Service was also fine, we were quick to get our food but had to ask multiple times for the check
google avatar

Yelp
I walked past Pelicana one day and noticed their $9.99 weekday lunch deal, so I decided to give it a try on a Monday. We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Platter and the Kimchi Fried Rice with Spam. The Teriyaki Chicken Rice Platter was massive--definitely a great deal for the price! It's easily enough to share between two people. We couldn't finish everything and ended up packing half of it to take home. The portion sizes and value here are fantastic, and I'll definitely be back to try more dishes!

Yelp
This is my go to spot when my friends and I are craving authentic Korean fried chicken. I've seen this around in Seoul so I was excited to see it open in Seattle a few years ago. We like to get their half-half combo which comes with a half order of fried chicken, and another half order with a sauce of your liking. Their honey soy is relatively newer and is my new favorite. Cheese balls and fries are a good sides to pair with as well. We also like to order some drinks since in Korea, fried chicken is accompanied with beer. They have a full bar so they should have the drink of your choice. It's located in capitol hill so it's a great spot to grab dinner and drinks and start your night out.

Janie G.

Yelp
This place is alright. The service is very slow and the chicken is that great. I'm picky when it comes to chicken, especially fried. And it seems they rush cooking to meet orders and I'm not a fan of that!
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
Good korean fried chicken, and it's a plus that they're open late. You'll definitely find your fair share of drunk and tipsy people here after a night out and really wanting some food. We got seated promptly and ordered the bone in chicken, half original and half honey soy. Their original is not actually plain, but rather more the yangnyeum flavor which I really like. The food came out after around 15 minutes or so which wasn't an unreasonable wait. They give you pickled radish on the side if you ask, but it comes prepackaged. The chicken itself was crispy, juicy, and hot, and drenched int he sauces. Between the two we both liked the honey soy more, though the signature was god as well. Some chicken pieces were smaller than expected (like the wings) but it was still good nonetheless. I'd recommend it for some KFC in the area!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
While it was busy at this location, the customer service we were provided at the table was way below my expectation for any establishment. We got an arrangement of food and the only thing I loved was the spam fried rice which was absolutely incredible and one of the only things I would return for. My friends were also fans of the fries, but as far as the chicken was concerned, Its a hard pass.

Yelp
On my journey to compare tons of chicken, so Pelicana was an obvious spot to hit. Instead of snagging just wings, I do think the premium chicken is the move. It's all the parts of a chicken not limited to just wings. Better for a full experience, in my opinion. Some bites were a drier than others though. Cheese Balls - these things were amazing. Five cheese balls with a fantastic cheese pull. They even come with a little cup of sweet sauce that's useful for sauceless chicken! Ddukbokki - sweet rice cakes in a spicy sauce. Super soft and chewy. Some fish cakes and meatless mandoo (dumplings) inside. It's a nice, solid carb to pair with your proteins. Also a very safe option if you enjoy tteok-bokki (ddukbokki) so hard to go wrong with it. Crispy Fried Chicken - we opted for half original and half no sauce. Original sauce is basically yangnyeom. The crispy fried chicken with no sauce got a bit dry on the inside. After each bite, you definitely need to re-dip for flavor otherwise it's bland and dry. The yangnyeom didn't have this problem, as the interior remained fairly juicy and tender. Some inconsistency there, but potentially different batches of chicken? It's about 8-10 pieces per half, so 16-20 pieces for a whole chicken. This is pretty standard. Somaek Tower - their tower is mesmerizing in itself by being a kind of lava lamp. It lights up and changes color! They also use liquid nitrogen in the beginning so there's cold steam, pretty neat aesthetically. Anyway, the beer and soju is pretty typical, maybe a little heavier on the beer side and less soju. Hefty amount for a small group.

Yelp
A super fun Korean fried chicken place! I love coming here with friends to hang out and get some food. It's a bar/gastropub vibe which is great for a casual night catching up with people. The chicken is super crispy and they have lots of different flavors! The shaken fries are soo good and I love how they always come out super crispy. We also got this somek tower which was super fun and good value. I recommend coming here if you want some good Korean fried chicken and good vibes :)

Yelp
My friends and I walked in around 2pm on a Sunday it wasn't too busy so we got seated right away, I like the inside of the restaurant very inviting and they also play kpop lol it was right up our alley. The menu was a bit confusing since it was our first time dining here and they were out of a lot of items that we originally was going to order which sucks bc me and my friends were so excited to try but we still stayed to try other option. Food came out pretty fast we got half soy and half hot chilly and ddukbokki. They were also out of radish for the week too but they gave us the cabbage on the side which was nice. The soy was okay but the hot chilly was so salty so that's a pass for me. The outside of the chicken is def crunchy but the inside was so tough to chew the pieces I had were so dry... maybe we just had a bad batch. The ddukbokki was chewy and a spicier than I thought. I would come back to try the items that we originally came for tho hopefully it'll be a better chicken experience next time.

Yelp
The chicken never disappoints at Pelicana, and I always order a side of tteokbokki with my meal! The servers have always been very nice, and the place can get very packed, especially during the weekends. It's street parking so keep that in mind, again especially during the weekends. The lighting is pretty dim and night, and the music and patrons can get loud, especially by the bar area, but they're great at hosting large groups of people. We always bring friends and family here when they visit Seattle!

Yelp
Pelicana is like the OG of Korean Fried Chicken, but I didn't try the place until a yelp event this summer. And there is a reason why the chain is successful and has survived despite the competition increasing every year. I stopped by during the NBA finals and I was very happy at the bar with large screens and a deep selection of draft beers. I ordered some fried wings with the original sauce and was not disappointed. These were fried perfectly and I the seasoning had just the right mix of savory and slight sweetness. The chicken meat was also very high quality and perfectly cooked - moist and plump without veins and tendons, etc. The menu also has some Korean items as well, but you will definitely be happy with the fried chicken here. The place is quite spacious and would be good for groups, but I also loved the bar area for watching sports.

Yelp
Pelicana is one of the best Korean fried chicken spots in Seattle so I was happy to finally try it! My friends and I came on a Saturday night and unsurprisingly had to wait a pretty long time for a table, around 30 mins. But once we got seated and ordered our food came out relatively fast. I am a fan of the vibes of Pelicana, it's what you expect for a fried chicken place - casual, loud, good for hanging out with friends. Before we get to the chicken, we gotta talk about the Cheese Balls. These are SO GOOD. There are 5 cheese balls per order and they come with this wonderful garlic sauce. The cheese balls are so good that I would come back for a meal of just cheese balls. The chicken was pretty good; the original sauce was definitely my favorite. I was worried about getting boneless chicken since I was expecting just chicken nuggets, but their pieces are actually very meaty and juicy. The hot flavors are pretty spicy, so be careful when ordering! Also, make sure to ask for radish with the chicken, it is a great complement.
google avatar

Madeline T.

Yelp
The fry seasoning was a sweet and flavorful taste- we weren't the biggest fan of it but it's taste is definitely unique! We chose a chicken with a single fire emote (saw there were a max of three in one dish ) and were lowkey dying from it HA even the smallest species here are die the stronger spicy soldiers!! Beware! The original chicken is delicious though. Luckily servers were very good with refilling water containers. The place is quite busy so expect some waiting to flag someone down if you need something. Overall an awesome and lively night life ambiance! There's lots of good drinks around the area (right next to life on mars) and a younger crowd. If you are an avid foodie looking for a delicious Korean chicken place though, i would probably recommend checking out the third place in Redmond!
google avatar

Ethan C.

Yelp
Chicken is so good. Reasonably priced. We got the original sauce as well as the ghost sauce one. The chicken was fried perfectly and had a nice crisp to it. But to be honest the real highlight were the sides - we got the corn cheese and onion rings. The corn cheese tasted kinda like coleslaw but it was really tasty. The onion rings were classic and pretty large in size. We went pretty late and it seemed a little bit understaffed but they were trying their best and were friendly. Given the good pricepoint, food, and quantity 10/10 would recommend for a late night stop!

Yelp
Pelicana is such a great place to go if you're craving korean fried chicken!! It's so crispy and has good flavor, also the portion is really decent. I also highly recommend going with a group of friends so you can share a somek tower! With my group of four we shared half regular and half garlic chicken, fries, and each had 3-4 glasses of somek! It was just the right amount and we were all so satisfied at the end. We arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday night and were seated right away! Our food also came out fast (15 minutes after we ordered) so that was really nice. I can't wait to go back because the chicken is definitely something you'll be thinking about after!!

Yelp
Not too full on a Friday at 6 pm! The workers were friendly and helped us get our order for cheaper by suggesting ordering our items in certain combos! Service otherwise was pretty hands off and they accidentally delivered chicken to our table and took it away after a couple minutes (luckily we had not eaten any). Mozzarella sticks had a great cheese pull, chicken was great, flavorful, and not too oily, tower looked very cool - everything was great for a drinking spot! Great chill vibes :)

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!!! The chicken wings were surprisingly LARGE and not dry. I thoroughly inhaled my food. If you're looking for a more relaxed environment, go during the day. I've been both day and night and it's A LOT darker and louder at night. I usually don't mind but I had three young babies with our party and one was a bit overwhelmed. For as busy as it was, service was decent!

Yelp
Pelicana was the spot. I still love their chicken but it's hard for me to choose them lately. I'm not sure what's going on but they have seem to have shortage issues. Maybe it's an import issue? Whatever it may be, it's giving me more reasons to not go to pelicana anymore. The last two times I've ordered from them (with a good amount of time in between), they were out of pickled radish. I went with friends last night, and we were scrolling through their digital menu, where a majority of items were sold out. What's funny is they have posters advertising their items but they're sold out of cheeseballs, pelicana fries, sauces... is this place here to stay? If so pleaseeee restock soon!!

Yelp
Walked past many times thinking it was an American sports bar not realizing that it was a Korean fried Chicken restaurant. Me and buddy stopped in as we were walking the area. We were the only ones here at the time but by the time we left, half the tables were full. Ambiance - real American sports bar look to it but with the obvious Korean influence, posters etc. Service - service was great. There was a new hire being trained. He did a good job only being his 2nd day. The person training him went above and beyond. They have a beer tower which a friend and I wanted but we didn't want the beer that it comes with. We wanted Modelo. The trainer helped us out by giving us what we wanted even though it came with a specific beer. Food - wings were solid! I got their spicy version which our waiter said would be very spicy. I'm so used to going to these restaurants that cater to western pallets that I always have to order 10 stars to get the spice I like. THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE lol. I ordered their highest spice level and let me tell you, my mouth was on fire lol. This surprisingly didn't compromise the flavor, I still really enjoyed it.

Yelp
As a devoted fan of Korean fried chicken, Pelicana in Capitol Hill never fails to impress. The service was impeccable and the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. They kept checking up on me and my friend numerous times which I very much appreciated. The food came out fast and fresh too! Speaking of food, let's talk about their iconic crispy chicken wings. Some might even say they taste exactly like the motherland. The texture was addictively crisp with each bite, and the flavors will hit you like a train. Very juicy and extremely flavorful. How about their fries? Specifically the Shaken Fries. Crispy, golden, packed with cheese seasoning. Be careful because you will get addicted. Each bite offers a satisfying crunch that pairs perfectly with their signature chicken. These are by far my favorite fries to get from anywhere, ever. And don't even get me started on their cheese balls! They're little pockets of heaven, oozing with gooey cheese goodness that melts in your mouth with every bite. The ambiance is vibrant, the service is top-notch, and the food? It's downright delicious. This is the perfect place to dine with friends, family, and honestly, the price is shockingly affordable. Pelicana deserves more recognition than it deserves!

Yelp
The wings are crispy and the flavor was there! The service was friendly and fairly fast. The restaurant is a good size, but dark (a bit too dark for me personally). Parking is horrible! Street parking only if you're lucky! If not then I recommend a paid parking lot.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. I ordered the kimchi udon, and it's a giant vat. I would call it family style, but that's weird for udon. It tastes good, but there's nothing fun in at like seafood or meat bits like you'd get in Korea. Biggest turn-off: plastic and wooden utensils. It should be against the law at a sit-down restaurant. I have my steaming hot udon with a tiny plastic spoon. Also, they're not very attentive at waiting tables. You have to call them over most of the time. I was used to this in similar Korean restaurants, but usually, there's a bell at the table

Yelp
We decided to visit this spot based on a friend's recommendation and it was unfortunately not the best. We got the Original Fried Chicken with sauce and it tasted quite bland. This was disappointing since I usually enjoy the flavors of Korean fried chicken, but the batch we got here were quite lacking in flavor.

Yelp
TL;DR: very flavorful chicken and very filling best to share. Restaurant cleanliness in the back kitchen is questionable. I'm not sure if this is a real problem or not but I was here twice: the first time I had a squashed flying insect of some sort in my ToGo bag, the second time I had a really plump flying insect of the same sort crawling all over my fries. It's not a gnat and not a house fly but it's brown with wings...A bit off putting but I just tried to not think about what might be happening in the kitchen in the back. Parking: metered street side parking. Atmosphere: cafe/bar-like setting with upbeat music playing in background. Menu: short and to the point with some images, you can choose extra crispy chicken if you'd like, chicken is made to order so you may end up waiting if there are a lot of customers. Service: wait to be seated, you will be provided a bottle to water yourself, check brought to you, box your own leftovers upon request. There are napkin dispensers on each table -- rightfully so because you will need them! There is also a small tin on each table with a plastic bag on it for you to toss your chicken bones into. For the record, our food was brought out but we never received any water and the restaurant wasn't at capacity -- but I had water in my bag so I didn't bother asking for some. Original Flavor Fried Chicken: I personally like this one because it's really flavorful and isn't swimming in sticky sauce. Honey Soy Fried Chicken: sweet and salty and very sticky but really good! I would say it's a bit to flavorful (covered in sauce) in my opinion. Fries: They are slightly breaded and really satisfying. A nice palate cleanser between bites of chicken. Fried Cheese Balls: I love the chewy texture of the mochi but it is a bit too greasy in my opinion. I found myself doing the napkin dab on it haha.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go for some good KBBQ! We had the opportunity to get a late night bite. The atmosphere is hip and fun, with lots of seating. They offer a number of different choices that you don't typically see in similar places. While this is a larger chain, the service and staff were friendly and ensured we were greeted and taken care of. We ordered several different things, of course chicken. We enjoyed the breading and flavors, of which we chose the spiciest sauce, which for me wasn't very hot. They have french fries which were good but certainly different. I would want to try them again to really understand if I like them. We also tried the cheese balls, which we were told were imported from Korea! Certainly an interesting thing to enjoy but if you haven't tried it, give it a chance!

Yelp
Pelicana Chicken had a collab with Honkai: Star Rail, which was the reasoning behind our trip to Seattle this previous weekend. My sister ordered two of the Honkai: Star Rail Set Meals, one for each of us. The meal came with the Crispy Fried Chicken (sauce or no sauce), two cheeseballs, and fries. We ended up getting the Crispy Fried Chicken - Honey Soy flavor for both of the set meals. Personally, I think the sweetness of the honey was a lot sweeter than I had expected, which made me drink more water than normal to cleanse the flavor out of my mouth. Nonetheless, the quality of the chicken was good. It is definitely crispy and JUICY. Be careful because they are a lot hotter inside. I did not like the cheeseballs. They were mochi like in texture and was sweet. Not so savory or cheesy like I was hoping it would be. The fries are really good. They are thin and crispy, it's almost like McDonald's, but better. The service was as good as it could be given it was a Saturday during late lunch time. It was a bit busy and there were only two employees working in the front. We waited like 10-20 minutes until we could get a table that was away from the door (it was cold, and we preferred to have a seat away from the door).

Yelp
Disappointed in the service. Ordered pick up and the wings were boneless, which was wrong my receipt and order was for bone in. To make things worst they forgot to include my sauce. Had to go back and forth in the rain and was treated poorly upon return. Won't be coming again, have some better training for your employees, they are lacking in customer service.
