"This simple shop is famous for its pork ribs that are marinated for 20 hours before being deep-fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Another favourite is ‘Jadeite tofu’ – shrimp, ham, coriander and tofu wrapped up in fried tofu skin. Crabmeat and baby oyster thick soup, and whelk and squid soup with leeks are the other recipes from a bygone era that are now seldom found elsewhere." - Michelin Inspector

The signature dishes are really sumptuous. We had a fish roe fried rice, pork ribs and tofu. All are great. Sadly, the time we arrived, the chicken was already sold out. Worth to dine in!

Rather close to the New Beitou Station. Waitress expects you to order your first dish right away, because it would be ready in minutes, and then you would have considerable time to choose your next dish. We ordered five dishes in one go and we got five dishes on the table in five minutes. Their signature Crispy Spare Ribs is a must-try. The taro "fries" were in fact pieces of taro nuggets. The Sugar Braised Pork Liver was something new to me in terms of flavour and texture. The pumpkin rice vermicelli had minced pork in it but you can order a vegetarian version. They had big round tables for 8-12 people only so they appeared to be reluctant to serve parties of two. Adding the fact that dishes come in big portions bigger groups say six people may have better dining experience. Cash only.

Traditional Taiwanese food, pretty decent. All the old lady waitress were extremely helpful and nice. The young lady who is the cashier and perhaps the owner were not too nice. However, she was consistent. I noticed she was rude to everyone.

Food - very authentic with a 70 year old history. Fresh and truly celebrates local ingredients. Service - generally warm and hospitable. Atmosphere - suitable for families and large groups. Bare bones restaurant atmosphere, simple and highly understated.

This is one of the original Taiwanese style restaurants in Beitou. It's not a fancy place, but the people there are friendly and professional. The place is clean and bright. The food is tasty and authentic to its roots. You can get some dishes that are passed down from our grandparents days. Dishes that reminded us are taro balls with duck egg yolk, Taiwanese style fried pork ribs, etc. Overall, it's not only a place where we can get old style dishes, it also serves as a walk down memory lane.

The pork ribs are to die for, you must try them. The jade tofu is also amazing.

Absolutely loved the food here! Just walking distance from the Xinbeitou train station. Everything was tasty and of good quality. Service was also fast! Our Taiwanese friend took us here and my husband and I are so grateful for the hospitality.

I called multiple times trying to make reservations. Nobody picked up the phone even during business hours. Is the restaurant closed for business? or they do not care customer service due to how they have been running business for many years?
