Absolutely beautiful hotel, would really recommend a stay here . It has such a lovely feel to it and the rooms are so clean and beautifully decorated. We sat by the fire near the bar for a fair amount of time this weekend with a nice drink, looking at the Christmas tree and now feel so relaxed. We also had a bit of an emergency where our car wouldn’t start as we were leaving and there is a long story but Christy was so helpful and patient, not to mention Dan giving us a lift to the train station. All of the staff have been helpful and we’ve received great service and delicious food. All in all, the car mishap included, the whole weekend has been lovely and we feel well rested and in a festive mood.

Spent 2 nights here recently with high expectations due to recent food reviews. Could|Not fault our wonderful welcome by Louise front of house on our arrival and our lovely room. The room was beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed delightful bathroom excellent sheets and towels. So far so good. Sadly things went downhill at dinner. First course was sent back as cold and everything following was hugely oversalted. Two tables in the entire restaurant and the service was painfully slow. Did not enjoy at all and was a huge disappointment. Cancelled eating there the following evening and at breakfast the next day everything was also weirdly oversalted in the cooked offering. Liked the hotel a lot but not the dining experience.

We booked a week at Penmaenucaf Hall Hotel in the summer as a special treat having not had a holiday in several years. Well, it didn't disappoint; from the warm welcome on arrival, to the stunning grounds and setting on the southern edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), and the well-appointed room with a view. We specifically chose this location as a dog-friendly hotel and it's fair to say they went out of their way to make our furry friend just as much at home as us. The chef delivered a stunning menu and the staff were just so friendly and helpful. All in all, it exceeded our expectations and we would have no hesitation returning.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights in a junior suite on our first visit to Wales from Boston, and we had a wonderful experience! We were greeted warmly by the manager and given fantastic service throughout our stay by all staff. We enjoyed cozying up by the fire at night that the staff graciously lit for us in the warm and inviting lounge area. And the grounds? Absolutely stunning. It is also in a wonderful location - secluded but with a quick drive into Dolgellau. Additionally, a short walk down the path will take you to a pub at the George III hotel and the walking/biking trail into Dolgellau (approximately 2 miles each way). We highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the area!

After finding our way up the very narrow road to the hotel, we made the mistake of driving down to the front of the hotel where there was very limited parking, necessitating a 20 point turn to go back to the earlier small car park. The decor inside the hotel was fabulous and clearly staged by an interior designer. Our room was lovely, although the view was mostly off a wall with a limited garden view. However, the bathroom was well appointed with nice toiletries and fluffy towels. The beds were luxurious and pillows very comfortable. We couldn’t fault the room. Although my daughter loved the nouvelle cuisine and we found the amuse bouche tasty and interesting, I found the portion sizes very small and fussy. On the whole, I would go back however I would be more tempted to eat from the bar menu or elsewhere, as the restaurant was overpriced. We could not fault the staff, the welcome was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. That’s a really big plus in our view.

Delightful room , we also had a private roof terrace with garden views. Well established gardens and woodlands to explore with wonderful views. The 7 course taster menu is highly recommended, absolutely delicious. Very friendly, efficient staff. Wel worth a visit , one of the nicest hotels I've had to pleasure to stay at.

If you are looking for a wonderful combination of food, accommodation, service, location and destinations in Eryri, then this is the best place to stay - has overtaken everywhere else in North Wales to win the title of best hotel and restaurant. What could we negative about, the rain maybe.....

Stayed for one night on 26 July. Had drinks in the bar and the tasting dinner menu with wine flight then breakfast the following morning. The genuine welcome, superb service, excellent room and shower, tasteful and high specification decor, great food and drinks, stunning grounds and the value for money mean I will certainly be back either with friends again or my wife. Cannot fault it, absolutely outstanding. As the Michelin guide says: worth a detour!
