"Yes, this is a hotel bar, but we promise, it’s actually good. It feels kind of like a mix between a speakeasy and a castle, with its low light, velvet booths, and excessively regal portraits of people like Bill Gates and Kelsey Grammer in the lobby. "Pennyroyal is a hotel bar we really like. It’s a little small, but if you can grab a purple velvet booth or a spot at the counter, it’s worth it for the highly complicated (but delicious) cocktails and the bar snacks from Shaker + Spear. It even feels a little regal, probably because of the very formal paintings of Bill Gates, Kelsey Grammar, and other celebrities in the Palladian hotel lobby." - aimee rizzo

I dropped into this bar my 1st night at the hotel. I ordered the truffle parm fries, oysters on the half shell, and a few drinks. I enjoyed all of it, and the mignonette for the oysters was really good. The bar tenders were fun to talk to and service was fast. Loved it!

This place is conveniently located across the street from the Moore theater. My date and I stopped here for a few drinks before a show. I really enjoyed the quiet low lit upscale lounge type atmosphere. The drink selection is unlike anything I’ve ever seen! From scotch to vodka, liqueurs and wines, they have just about every type of alcohol you can think of and even non alcoholic drinks are available as well. The couches and seating are comfortable and wall decor classy. I ordered an Old Fashion and it was made just right!

Not once but twice have I been served the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Both times the bartender was Audrey, who is an absolute professional and very fun to talk to. The oysters and truffle fries are amazing as well, and it’s dark and cozy inside. Can’t wait to revisit.

Relaxed bar with great food options and really good hours for downtown. We were originally headed to Shaker + Spear, but they were out of seats and we were told they shared 90% of their menu with PennyRoyal, so we were able to get some comfortable seats there. We got the steak and the octopus, both were great. Service was friendly and attentive, which was appreciated. Lighting was very blue, which gives a distinct vibe but might not be for everyone. One callout is they add a 5% surcharge which is not a gratuity. Rubbed me the wrong way a bit but not enough to impact our evening, but I know there are people that really get upset about those type of things so wanted to give a heads up.

The food was good (from Shaker & Spear); we had the halibut and pork shoulder along with happy hour PNW Oysters and Local Greens. The halibut was great and pork shoulder was tougher than expected, but overall we had a good dinner with a nice atmosphere, for a relaxing evening. The bartenders and servers were awesome.

This place has really slow service, and feels understaffed. The ambiance feels poorly lit, it’s too dark to read the menus. It took at least 15 mins for the bill to arrive after we requested for it. The pomme frites were alright though.

This place was recommended by hotel staff. When we arrived we were seated promptly at a table for 8. We ordered the duck, scallops, hanger steak, halibut, pork chop and the burger. The food itself was fantastic albeit small portions as expected. The hanger steak was a bit over charred and had some burnt tasting pieces. All the other plates were cooked perfectly. The main issue was the server's attitude. Our server's name was Aariana and she talked to us with a disrespectful attitude and was not welcoming at all. In addition, we do not mind paying 20% tip but they don't list it on the receipt before you pay, instead they add the tip after you give them your card. It would be nice to be told that they will be charging gratuities instead of charging you without your knowledge. Also be aware that they will not split the check for tables over 6 people (even if you want to split the check in 2). Overall the food was very good but the service was lackluster and we felt unwelcome.

Went during happy hour and stayed for dinner. All drinks were charged at regular prices. Cheese plate looked like a child put it together with ingredients from the local grocery store. The cheeseburger, for the price, was small and underwhelming. The "Sole" entree was OK. Bar tender was more interested in talking with friends than real service. Avoid if possible.
