Penrose KL

Absolutely wonderful experience at Penrose, up there in the top ten cocktail bar visit pantheon perhaps. Super personal service, literally just a few bar seats of course (could have been a quiet night when we visited too) but the attentive cross bar talk was exceptional. We of course ran the gamut of their options and made easy friends with our bartender. The highballs are fresh and inventive. Spirit forward is not a misnomer, they hit with a punch and deliver unique flavour profiles. The personal service is the high selling point, be attentive and delve into the in and outs of this very high quality bar. Thank you Marc Anthony for your high energy effusiveness and service, tons of fun. Definitely made out night sir.

We dropped by Penrose after our dinner at ESCA since it is just a few doors away. It was before 9pm, so we got in without any queue. The service was friendly and the vibe was amazing. We tried a couple of their signature cocktails and found them okay. FYI, we prefer classic drinks than fancy cocktails. The bartender is very friendly and mentioned that they can also make classic cocktails like martinis, negronis and gin & tonics. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely return if we are in the neighbourhood.

We walked in without a reservation and were initially offered a standing space, but the team quickly found us seats at the bar once they became available. The service was warm and attentive — everyone seemed genuinely passionate about what they do. Special shout-out to Maria for her thoughtful recommendations and for walking us through the drinks menu. The cocktails were on the stronger side, but each had its own distinct character and flavour profile — we tried four, and every one of them was impressive in its own way. Overall, a wonderful experience with great hospitality and craftsmanship. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if you can!

I think we’ve found our favourite bar in KL! The classic cocktails were on point and really tough not to love. Not surprising it’s in Asia’s top bars. Lai was a great host (thank you!) and I cannot wait to try other drinks on the menu! Make sure to book earlier as there’s limited seats and a really popular spot.

Awesome cocktail outfit and am not surprised that they are Asia’s top 50. Probably one of the best cocktails I have ever had at Penrose KL. Very rich distinct taste and flavours brought together and enhanced with the likes of cocoa coated parsley stick and fermented leeks.

Best cocktails/ vibes we have ever had - all the bartenders especially Mark were knowledgable, kind and super cool to chat to. Well deserved top bar in the world. Rum Musa is life changing. 100% must go when in KL

One of the best cocktail bars in Asia, and it’s easy to see why it consistently tops so many reputable lists and awards. The drinks are outstanding, and the service is equally impeccable. A special shoutout to Mark, who served us with such passion and even went the extra mile by recommending other cocktail bars and places to check out in KL. Truly an unforgettable experience.
