Peppa’s Jerk Chicken

Not gonna lie at all. It was a complete miss for me. The food was just not good. My belly is also not feeling the best. The wait is long. The cashier was somewhat deaf and not friendly at all. The staff was cold and just depressed looking. The price is way too high for the portion and the quality. Why are yall putting corn in things that don’t have corn in them. My stomach really is starting to hurt.

I ordered the fried chicken with rice and peas and a fresh salad from Peppa’s Jerk Chicken. The chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, just the way fried chicken should be. The rice and peas had a great flavor, and I really liked how they soaked up the curry gravy—it was well-spiced with just the right kick. The fresh salad was a nice touch, balancing out the meal. Overall, it was a solid dish, and I’d definitely order it again.

Ordered the jerk chicken with Mac. It was super flavorful. Although every bite was spice overload, this entree was marinated well. I'm not sure if the side dish was a fluke, but it had remnants of soul food during a Detroit Thanksgiving. The food was very rich and it literally took me 2 days finish what I ordered.

My son has been ordering food from Peppas for a few months and is always telling me about it. I came to visit and finally got to experience it myself. Over. The. Top. Amazing. Everyone was friendly and the service was excellent. We decided to eat the side counter instead of taking it home. So glad we did because the music created the perfect vibe to enjoy our meal. The food was heavenly with deep flavors. I made a promise to myself to eat there every time I’m in town. Today was jerk chicken. Next time I’m going for Curry Goat, and after that, the Ox Tail.

The chicken curry with rice was favorable and tasted amazing. Can't wait to try everything on the menu. The food was 5/5. Service needs some work, like updating the customer on time for order and communicating with the customer! Service is 3/5. The place is small and mainly to go. Not a great place to eat. Will be back.

My wife Order food for me from this place i got no spoon no fork my pepper shrimp was cold as it came out the fridge thé festival was oiled soaked an I never got my rice and peas worst service ever

If you are looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine this spot will water your taste bud great cooking , great staff but most of all great price for the quality and the varieties of entrees , the lunch special ? Forget about it!!! The price so low you be amazed , give it a try I guarantee you won't regret it and for the location to score price and service like this in my book you just hit a home run , much blessings 🙏🙏 gbu .

So keep in mind this place is mostly set up for getting food to go, just in case you're planning to visit it, that being said that food here is amazing, now i understand why is so busy, i only wish i live closer and also The whole place being a little bigger, but other than that highly recommended. 👍

I personally can't understand why Peppas doesn't have 5 stats across the board! I go there at least twice a week to get my Mac and cheese, jerk chicken and patties. The oxtail is delicious and often times I get my filet fish, which is seasoned to perfection and tender. The staff is very sweet and they get to know you and they make you feel at home! I love Peppas- shout out to Tatiana, the sweetest young lady behind the register.

Peppas is a great to go lunch spot. It's a hole in the wall place, the service is quick and the workers are sweet. The food was amazing, they have a lunch special for $10 comes with a soda and it's so filling that I couldn't even finish the whole thing.

If you like white meat, this is the place. Out of all the Peppas I've been to, this was the least juicy. I ordered the large plate (all chicken) and you would think there would be all types of cuts - nope. Maybe I look like the type to like white meat. I give them the extra stars because service was fast and their sauces are pretty good. Not much of a sit down, just come in, order and leave.

Mannnn their food just hits the spot. The meat soaked in their sauce with a bite of pasta make the perfect combination of flavors. We ordered through DoorDash and delivery kept getting delayed but the food was still pretty hot by the time we got it.

I've been eating jerk chicken all my life and I am offended and disgusted by this that I was given. This is some kind of grilled chicken with some vinegar hot sauce on it. This is not jerk chicken. It was absolutely disgusting. I could not get past the vinegar taste. There's nothing about it that jerk.. i'm not sure if they're selling this mock jerk chicken in this way because it's Manhattan, but it's really offensive to sell this to people and try to pass it off at jerk chicken.

11/06/23: New location around the job area. Decided to check them out. Basically small store front take out pick up. There's like 4 stools by a counter if you wanted to "dine" in. Ordered small oxtail with pasta. Yikes I guess their rent is high. I know oxtail has become pricey but it was a steep price for a small order. $22.58 that's about the price of a large in Brooklyn. It was good. Not the best I've had but definitely not the worse. For take out it did its job. One take away for such a small enclosed space the music is way too loud!

Ordered through Ubereats. The food took forever. The food wasn't flavorful and wasn't seasoned well. Barely any spice. I ordered curry goat and it was tough! Not tender at all. Idk if it was an off night or what. And the meat were cut in big pieces.

I have had their jerked chicken platter delivered several times and each time found the chicken plentiful and spiced just right. The rice and beans accompanying the chicken was flavorful. I could do without the plantains which I thought were on the dry side but that was incidental to a very good dinner that was the real thing at a bargain price.

In Town to help my son move out of the city! Ask him where to go for some good eats! Peppas Jerk doesn't disappoint! Staff was helpful getting us what we needed. Waiting on Coco bread so we decided to eat there. Small eat in area but nice!

Awesome authentic Jerk chicken with healthy portion sizes! It's not scotch bonnet inferno spicy and really hit the spot. Great flavor, juicy, came with dirty rice and I grabbed a festival on the side. Will definitely be coming back! This place just opened in the neighbor and had I only saw two 4 star reviews so I was dragging my heels on going. After visiting I'm giving it 5 stars because it was delicious. Staff was friendly and It fixed my jerk chicken crave.

Amazing jerk chicken! So smoky and juicy, and it's very reasonably priced for how much food you get. Definitely very filling. We got there right as they had finished making a fresh batch, so we were literally in and out in under three minutes. Great quick, reliable, tasty spot in the neighborhood!

The jerk chicken is great, lots of flavor! We also enjoyed a side order of festivals and plantains. Took a star off because they didn't have everything available and it was a little slow. Overall would definitely order from them again.

Great flavor, texture, juiciness. For me a perfect assortment of light and dark meat and certainly plenty in terms of quantity and therefore value. Loved it. Will go back.

This beloved institution just opened on my block and I've been waiting for months so was eager to try it. So was the rest of the neighborhood as there was a line out the door. They just opened and given the demand didn't quite have the system of ordering and picking things up down yet, but all the staff were friendly and helpful. Expect some delays for now. I love Jamaican food but there are few authentic places to get it in Manhattan so I decided to try this out with a classic order: jerk chicken dinner with rice and peas and side salad. What I got was a packed - and I mean packed - tin full of about half a chicken chopped into various sized pieces and a heap of smokey rice and peas. This was more than enough for two meals! The chicken was tender and juicy and full of heat. Bone sucking good! The rice also had a smokey flavor with added curry sauce. Very complex and unusual flavors. I'm sure Jamaican food experts will have more nuanced reviews of this but suffice to say my belly was full and I was extremely happy after I devoured a huge helping. Can't wait to go back and try more things. Please note this is strictly a take out place. There is NO place to sit and given the small size of the place and it's popularity even standing against the one small counter is not possible. I'll be glad when they get things down and I can just order from Grub Hub.

They had an Uber special 2 for 1 curry chicken over rice. It barely had any chicken and I paid Extra for gravy which they did not provide and I got the plantain option they did not provide as well. It was mostly rice with chicken bones. Disappointed as I was looking for a decent jerk place to frequent I don't normally write reviews but I believe it wouldn't be right not to warn others when ordering and not expecting what you ordered. Maybe they learned from chipotle to cut corners on food deliveries????

When arriving to pick up my food, I notice my food was not "well done" as I requested so I notified the woman at the front who proceeded to state to another woman "what about this is not well done" after explaining to them what I wanted, the light skin lady rudely replied "oh you want burnt dried up chicken" & suck her teeth and walked away. Both ladies were rude but the light skin one was very nasty! I would most certainly would not be returning back to an establishment who feels I shouldn't have an opinion on how I prefer my food. Not to mention the festival was tough, flavorless, and tasted old. The chicken was okay but they barely wanted to put jerk sauce on it.

The food is delicious! Tried the curry goat, Jerk Chicken, with the Mac and cheese. Everything tasted great
