Let me start by saying that lack of customer service can truly ruin a good restaurant. Yesterday, I was having a craving for jerk chicken, so I decided to stop by and support my local black business. Let me start by saying that the ordering system needs some true organization. I understand that these are some uncertain times in which social distancing is a must. However, there should be no reason that customers are outside unaware of where to place an order or pickup! I watched a customer literally storm off after asking the gentleman at the front door where to stand and was ignored.
After placing my order at 6:30pm, I waited for number 84 to be called as I waited outside in the rain. What a mistake that was because the events to follow were absolutely deplorable! I waited outside for 1 hour as numbers were called in no true order. Even customers that arrived after me got their orders first! After asking the first time, the gentleman told me that there is a wait on jerk chicken. The second time around, I was told that they had not called my order yet. Please note that I am number 84 and now they've called #2. A completely new cycle. This is when I became frustrated and entered the establishment. There is no reason that a customer should wait so long on food that should be pre-prepared and ready to share.
I handed my receipt over and a lady behind the counter quickly mumbles to one of the workers that my order was actually supposed to be given first. I told her "ma'am I've been waiting over an hour for my food". Even though there was clearly a mistake, my order was forgotten, and I clearly waited in the rain for 1 hour while customers were served before me, there was no apology given. Not even an acknowledgment. No apology or even some compensation for the mistake made. That was truly it for me. After receiving my order, I asked for a manager I could speak to. I was told that the manager was not present. Wow! This restaurant may have good jerk chicken but the customer service is lackadaisical. 1 hour and 10 minutes is the time it took for me to receive 3 orders of jerk chicken and pasta. Peppa's, you have truly lost a customer after this day. Please change this dynamic if you want to keep supporters immediately.
