Where To Celebrate Old Fashioned Week in Charlotte | Eater

"Peppervine is one of Charlotte’s true gems—a spendy, swanky, date-nighty gem—tucked in SouthPark’s Piedmont Row. Peppervine runs a class act, honoring a refined but not too-fine-dining style service. Start with the fried furikake cauliflower and green curry mussels, with the Peppervine Old Fashioned in hand, which features Elijah Craig energized by orange and cherry bitters. Continue with the star-player scallops and the crab pesto pappardelle. It’s very much an impress your boss or your boo type of spot." - Vox Creative

21 Best Restaurants in Charlotte

"Soaring ceilings, dramatic light fixtures, and a blonde matchstick wood art installation give this place a supreme elegance. It is classic South Park in that oh-so-chic way. The well-edited menu is divided between small plates like pimiento cheese scones, and larger, shareable entrees like 48-hour short rib pastrami. While you won't be inundated with choices, there are plenty of nice options, and all reflect a deft hand and a creative vision." - Nancy DePalma

This was our first time and enjoyed great food, service, and experience. Server was very knowledgeable about the menu and everything recommended was fantastic. Mushroom pasta was the best bite of the night. Cauliflower for taste and lions mane for texture. Both incredible with nice slaw. Young elevated vibe but not stuffy. Can’t wait to return!

5-Star Dinner Review of Peppervine – Charlotte, NC Tucked into SouthPark’s Piedmont Town Center, Peppervine delivers an exceptional dining experience that seamlessly blends culinary artistry with warm hospitality. Ambiance & Atmosphere The contemporary, art-filled interior exudes sophistication without pretension. The open kitchen offers a glimpse into the culinary craftsmanship, while the mezzanine lounge and curated artwork create a chic yet inviting setting. Despite a bustling crowd, the acoustics are thoughtfully designed, ensuring conversations remain intimate. Culinary Highlights Peppervine’s progressive American menu emphasizes locally sourced, seasonal ingredients presented through globally inspired small and large plates. Standout dishes include the General Tso’s Cauliflower—crispy tempura florets glazed with a tangy orange sauce—and the melt-in-your-mouth yeast rolls, baked to order with Maldon salt. The 24-Hour Short Rib, served with potato mousseline and bordelaise, showcases the kitchen’s ability to elevate comfort food to fine dining. What to wear For Peppervine in Charlotte, a smart casual to business casual dress code is ideal, with some guests opting for slightly dressier attire due to the upscale ambiance. 🔹 Recommended Attire for Peppervine: For Women: • Stylish blouse or dressy top with tailored pants or a skirt • A chic dress or jumpsuit • Heels, dressy flats, or fashionable boots • Accessories kept elegant and understated For Men: • Collared shirt or button-down (a blazer is a nice touch but not required) • Dress slacks or chinos • Closed-toe dress shoes or clean loafers • No tie needed, but it wouldn’t feel out of place 🔸 What to Avoid: • Athletic wear (sweatpants, gym shorts) • Flip-flops or overly casual sneakers • T-shirts with loud graphics or logos • Ripped or distressed jeans While it’s not a formal restaurant, Peppervine’s refined setting makes it the kind of place where you’ll feel more comfortable—and match the vibe—if you’re dressed with a little polish. Think date night or upscale dinner with friends rather than super casual. I was here for dinner with family in late December, after Christmas, 2024. The holiday vibe in the area was spot on! Response to Owner: You’re welcome! I so enjoyed the food and can’t wait to come back again. I love supporting businesses like yours ❤️

Google
Made a reservation for my ladies 30th birthday and it went great. A few things I should comment on. The place has a great ambiance and is not to loud on the inside. The seating is a bit close depending on if you’re seated at the smaller section but that is not enough to say I didn’t enjoy the visit. I do have to say maybe I glanced at the photos of the yeast rolls a bit to fast in the reviews because we were expecting them to be much larger than they actually are…. No big deal they melt in your mouth!!!! But beware you will need to order more than one batch. The portions are a bit small depending on what you order but the food is pretty good. DO NOT expect to come and dine for two for less than one hundred dollars!! It’s worth it at the end of the day! ***** The chocolate hazelnut bar is crazy good I’m pretty sure they do not have this on the menu anymore but was served to us as a birthday dish. 10/10

Google
First time. Upscale so no shorts tank tops or sloppy dressing. Love they offer 3 courses it allows you time to enjoy and relax. Everything is made to order not prepared in advance. The food was delicious. Make sure to order their yeast bread. Yummy. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely yes yes yes

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Peppervine and had the most lovely experience. I think we found new date night spot in Charlotte! There was a little bit of a mix up in the beginning as to who was taking care of our table, but that was quickly resolved by the management and our waiter, Nicole was very kind and polite. They brought out two glasses of champagne to thank us for celebrate our anniversary at Peppervine, which was a very kind and attentive gesture. The food here was absolutely delicious! We got the infamous yeast rolls and the mussels for starters, and yes the rolls were amazing. For our mains we ordered the 24 hour short rib and the hanger steak, which were both delicious! We couldn’t decide what was our favorite bite of the night as everything was very delicious and tastefully served. We can’t wait to be back soon!

Google
Wonderful atmosphere, service, and delicious food! Michelle was super informative, kind, and took her time with us. The standouts for me were definitely the yeast rolls, Hawaiian Crudo, and general Tso’s cauliflower - I strongly recommend all three. If you have a chance to visit go for it!

Google
We visited Peppervine to celebrate our anniversary and we left completely satisfied! The food is incredible. There wasn't one item we ordered to which we didn't immediately remark, "Wow, this is delicious." The service was top-notch. Our server was very knowledgable regarding the menu and each dish. The ambience was airy and pleasant, light music in the background. My husband ordered the mushroom angoletti and it was spectacular. He said it was the best pasta he's ever had. I had the Bison parpardelle which was very fresh and tasty, however I regret not trying a more ecclectic dish such as the Branzino or Scallops. We will definitely return, the menu is too good not to!

Google
Great experience. As someone who bakes a lot of homemade bread I thought people were exaggerating the Yeast Rolls... But wow, they are incredible. The overall experience was great. We ordered the yeast rolls + the 3course for 2 meals. Everything was good - excellent. It was a great way to celebrate an anniversary! Ed provided amazing service. 5 stars!

Yelp
An absolutely sublime culinary experience, Peppervine is one of the most compelling additions in years to Charlotte's high-end restaurant scene. Everything about our experience was first-rate, from the chic and romantic setting, to the outstanding service and of course, the food. Starting with the deliciously buttery Yeast Rolls and tasty General Tso's Cauliflower our table shared as appetizers, to the amazing Carmel Apple Cheesecake that topped off the meal, every dish exceeded our expectations. The menu includes a variety of pasta dishes, seafood and chops, as well as a number of fantastic small plate options that are perfect for sharing. Our group particularly loved the succulent 24-Hour Short Rib, the delicious Beef Bolognese and the amazing Lumache Pasta, served with shrimp and dripping with flavor. Peppervine's cocktails and wine selection are also outstanding, and their spacious, upscale bar makes this the perfect spot to connect for drinks or a casual dinner after work. Convenient parking is available just a short walk away, in any of the nearby decks in Piedmont Row. We absolutely loved Peppervine and can't wait to come back. It's one of the best restaurants in SouthPark and worth a drive from anywhere in the Charlotte region. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Yelp
I had just been waiting to try this place and wow it did not disappoint. My mouth is still watering thinking about the bolognese pasta - I think it's safe to say this is the best one I've had in Charlotte! Our service was awesome and quick! The place was so cute I wish I would've gotten a photo - well lit and a perfect aesthetic for a date night, birthday dinner, or any celebration. There was plenty of street parking, otherwise there is a garage next to the place as well!

Yelp
4.4/5 stars! Wow, what a place! Unsure of where to begin. I'll start with parking, there is ample parking in the deck next to Peppervine, but it's only for roughly 90 mins. Unsure how often they check though. The service and ambiance are both top notch. I always sit at the bar and the bartenders always make sure you are taken care of despite being very busy. The wine selection is good and changes, they do half off bottles on Tuesdays as well. To the food, it blew me away! For starters, their bread ($7) is to die for good! Baked when ordered it compares with Steak48s bread. Light and fluffy. I got the hanger steak last night and was impressed. Hanger steak is easy to mess up, but they did a great job! Their turtle pot de creme for dessert was equally delicious! Very rich, but so worth it! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
This was a great date night restaurant! Our server was very kind patient and helpful! I loved the romantic ambiance and the wine theme around the room! The menu was a little tough to figure out but our server recommended two GREAT entrees! The yeast rolls were my favorite! I ordered the short ribs and it was very tasty! Celebrated my birthday here as well and they gave me a cute chocolate dessert and champagne. Very happy with my experience!

Yelp
A truly elegant dining experience in an upscale, metropolitan atmosphere. Our service was top notch - waiter was very knowledgeable about dishes and staff kept plates cleared and checked in frequently (although not so often that it was a bother ). We were given regular menus, as well as an iPad that had "allergy menus" for just about any allergy/food sensitivity there is (gluten free, soy free, dairy free, onion/garlic/mushroom free, etc.). This was very accommodating to those with allergies. We started with a Cherry Lime Rickey mocktail. It was yummy, although we were a little disappointed that this was the only mocktail offered that night. But it was a good one! Next we had yeast rolls, which were a must! So good! Then we shared a little gem salad and General Tso's cauliflower. The cauliflower and slaw accompaniment were amazing!! We also had the butternut soup, hanger steak, and the mushroom agnolotti, which was recommended by our waiter. I'm not even a huge fan of mushrooms and that dish was incredible - the saltiness of the capers and brown butter paired with the sweetness of the mushrooms and caramelized onions was chef's kiss! That was our favorite dish of the night, closely followed by the cauliflower and yeast rolls! For dessert, we shared the ice cream trio and it was the perfect ending to our meal!

Yelp
As usual Peppervine is on point! We started our with some amazing mocktails, cocktails, and a Beaujolais to welcome in the New Year. I like that they offer a choice of a 6 ounce or 9 ounce glass of wine. All 6 of us loved our meals, the breads, veg, the seafood, pasta, meats. & desserts. It was all just perfection. We were waited on by several people, full service. They removed our silverware in between services as should be done but so rarely is here in Charlotte. It's a beautiful restaurant, always a reliable win!

Great food and service. I will definitely come back again. I loved the ambiance as well.

Yelp
Lovely experience at Peppervine. Delicious, well paced, comfortable service. Be sure to order the bread!

Yelp
I honestly thought Peppervine did not meet the hype. I wanted it to be a experience that matched the price point, but to me it fell short. The food was good and the service was excellent, but it was ridiculous that they tell you as soon as you sit down you're on a running clock and will have to give up your seat at a certain time. Isn't fine dining supposed to be an experience to be enjoyed over hours and not rushed? The food was great, and the space is decorated beautifully, but I don't expect to come back. Not with so many other options available where I can hit the same price point but be encouraged to relax and enjoy my meal.

Yelp
Peppervine is located in SouthPark Charlottez We stopped in this spot by just walking by. It was so beautiful so we had to pop in. It's a thoughtfully decorated space adorned with driftwood, definitely a contemporary modern vibe. As one of the few non-chain eateries in the area, Peppervine boasts a menu of progressive locally sourced small plates, complemented by craft cocktails. The bar tender made a great Bee's Knees. Loved it! Will be back for dinner.

Yelp
Came for a girls dinner and had a great experience. The place is pretty fancy with beautiful interior decor, no specified dress code but most diners were dressed fairly nice. We started with a round of cocktails- I got their signature "misty eyed margarita" which was delicious. We also started with the pimento scones which were so great we ordered another round. For dinner our server suggested sharing a few plates tapas-style. We got the General Tsos Cauliflower, Gem Salad, Braised Short Rib, and Mushroom Agnolotti. Let me tell you, everything was SO good. We were very impressed. I highly recommend everything we got. I will say the portions are small and pricey but it was worth it in our opinion. We finished the the crème brûlée and glasses of champagne. The dessert was incredible!

Yelp
Had a fantastic night out at Peppervine recently, and I can say that this place lives up to the hype. This is an upscale restaurant so it runs a little on the pricey side, but the experience was definitely worth it, so if you have an event you want to celebrate or if you need a spot for a special date night, they should definitely be at the top of your list. To start we ordered their fresh baked to order yeast rolls. They are so soft and perfectly salted I could honestly eat an entire meal of them. I'm definitely glad I saved room for the bison bolognese though. So flavorful and the beef tallow ricotta was a perfect touch. One of my favorite meals I've had in quite some time. The ambience is great, and they have a killer wine list which combined with their thoughtfully curated menu puts them towards the top in the Charlotte fine dining scene. That's not just my opinion either, apparently they've been racking up awards and honors. They've definitely made a splash in the restaurant scene since they opened, so go in some time yourself to see what the hype is about.

Yelp
We had been hearing about Peppervine for a while and thought what better to try it out then on the week of Love (Valentines Day weekend). We made our reservation on open table and were pretty prompt on arrival. With us arriving early, they still were able to accommodate us. Our server provided us with amazing recommendations on the dinner experience. I started with a cocktail of course (Tequila Mockingbird-catchy right). It took our server a little longer than expected to return and ask us our order which was slight disappointing. He would walk past and not acknowledge. I had to ask the manager for his assistance in getting his attwntion We got the Pimento Cheese scones which was pretty delicious along apple jelly. For entrees, we choose the 24 hour short rib and the orange general tso cauliflower. They were both very flavorful, the sides were decent. Besides the brief issue with service for a minute; the rest of staff was spectacular and the vibe was great.

Yelp
Peppervine is a Charlotte classic. I frequently hear people say it's one of their favorite restaurants in Charlotte, so I was eager to try it. It was phenomenal. Our server recommended we start with the pinento cheese scones and the yeast rolls. That felt excessive, and how good can bread really be? HA. We started with the pimento scones and quickly went back to order the yeast rolls. Both were standouts! We also shared the cauliflower. Again, had medium expectations, but it BLEW me away! For my entree, I ordered the octopus small plate and am so glad I did. The flavors together with the chorizo were wonderful. Everything was a standout - would definitely return for a nice occasion or with guests in town.

Yelp
Came here for a late Sunday dinner right before closing. Food: 4 Decor: 4 Service: 4 YEAST ROLLS, 7 baked to order, maldon salt ~4/5. Tasty although definitely need at least 2 people to share these. Came out piping hot. THAI PORK SPARE RIBS, 26 ginger bbq, papaya salad, lime vinaigrette, tamari ~4/5. Nicely cooked spare ribs with a refreshing papaya salad to balance it out. LUMACHE PASTA, 28 nc shrimp, snap peas, truffle butter, lime ~4/5. Tasty pasta dish, although the sauce was a bit richer than I expected. Service was very good. Overall 3.5, rounding up.

Yelp
Fantastic service. Beautiful ambiance. Delicious food. The small and large plates were excellent. We had the fried oysters, pork belly, 24-hour beef short ribs, and NY strip steak. The desserts were a bit disappointing. The tres leches and toffee cake were both on the dry side. Presentation was lovely though.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for the first time this week, and we absolutely loved it: The food was delicious, the service was superb and the vibe was sophisticated! Peppervine is centrally located in a commercial plaza called Piedmont Town Center, which is located in a visually pleasing parts of the city. There is plenty of free street parking and there is also a free parking garage. It's a dinner-only restaurant and it closes on Sunday. There is a full bar for those who only want drinks. The menu offers quite a few delicious options. We went on a Friday evening without a reservation and were able to get a table. We ordered the following: DRINK: -Tongue Thai'd Mocktail (100% delicious) FOOD: - Pimento Cheese Scones (100% delicious) - Spanish Octopus (100% delicious) - Hanger Steak (100% delicious) DESSERT: -Cinnamon Apple Zeppole Donuts (100% delicious) -Caramel Corn Butter Cake (100% delicious. This one was so different. We had never eating ice cream that tasted like corn and this one did. Wow!) The food was really good! The service was outstanding. Our server (Erlan) was incredibly helpful, friendly, professional and always on top of everything. The manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us. The space is beautiful and all common areas were clean. Overall, 100% recommended, and we are definitely coming back!

Yelp
The ambiance and atmosphere is very comfortable and nice. The decor is really modern and aesthetically pleasing. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. They explained the menu and gave great suggestions. The food was delicious. The scones are a must try! It taste similar to a biscuit but it was so hot and fresh. The Bison Bolognese was seasoned good and just right! As a Charlotte City Guide Vlogger, I can't wait to tell my Charlotte folks and visit again!

Yelp
Peppervine provided a great casual dining experience with great food. Entree portions seem to be on the small side, but it allowed us to enjoy starters and desserts. The pimento scones...a must have. When I think scones, I think hard crumbly cookies; however, these are more like biscuits. They're soft, butter, crunchy, and with a great hint of pimento cheese. Paired with the pepper jelly or sorghum butter, they are absolutely magnificent! The yeast rolls are equally delicious. Both are baked to order, and what is better than fresh hot bread?! My party enjoyed the mussels and fried oysters as starters. I ordered the 24 Hr Short Rib, and it was cooked to perfection-tender, flavorful, delicious sauce with a mixed vegetable side, vegetables were diced and plated on top of the short rib. I would've loved some nice buttery garlic mashed potatoes with it, but it was still delicious. All party members who had the pasta dishes really enjoyed the pasta. They spoke of the perfect cook in the pasta, the delicious sauces in their respective dishes, and the overall great flavor. As we were celebrating a birthday, a complimentary dessert was bright to the table, which was the chocolate ganache cake with meringue ice cream. We also got the sorbet trio, and the ice cream trio-all of which we all tasted and enjoyed. The coffee ice cream was amazing, the sweet potato ice cream was decadent and the lemon sorbet stood among the sorbets. All of it was beautifully crafted and we will definitely be back! If I lived closer, I'd be a wreck trying to get to those pimento scones!

Yelp
Best place I've been to in a while. Is '6 stars' an option?! Service: A+ Setting: A+ Food: A+ In short, we'll be bringing people from out of town here. An example of the service was this: the Sommelier came by and said, "I heard you were looking for some non-alcoholic bubbles. Our server doesn't know this, as I keep them stashed away, but I have something you might like." That sort of touch is incredible (and the juice was excellent). Service was on-point, classy, and perfectly suited. For courses, we loved everything here: the scones, the fried cauliflower, the octopus, the Branzino, and wrapping with the short ribs. All of those were incredible! Loved it! We'll be back, for sure!

Yelp
I visited Peppervine for my birthday this past Thursday. We were seated promptly and the restaurant was truly beautiful inside. Very elegant decor and this restaurant definitely gave off an upscale feel. The food left much to be desired, however. We started off with the yeast rolls and pimento cheese scones. I love the variety of spreads for the scones and the yeast rolls were pretty good, though they were a bit too salty for me at times. The General Tso's Cauliflower was probably one of my favorite dishes of the evening. Perfect flavor with a nice crispness. The burrata disappointed me GREATLY. I was so excited for all the flavors from the corn and peach salsa paired with the cheese but all I got was burrata and a piece of sourdough that had become soggy from a bland salsa. I didn't touch the dish again after the first taste. Definitely not worth $27. My mushroom agnolotti was delicious after having it sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. I'm vegetarian so I didn't try the ribs or the scallops but no one complained, nor raved about them so I assume they were just okay. The peach cobbler donuts were also underwhelming, tasting more like peaches and donut holes than a peach cobbler donut. The service was pretty attentive and the sommelier was a great touch though we ultimately stuck to cocktails instead of wine. The complimentary sparkling wine for my birthday was nice and the El Mago and Misty Eyed Margarita were both great. I probably won't be back but it was an interesting experience. I really wish the food lived up to the amazing descriptions on the menu. It's probably a better spot to stop in for a cocktail or glass of wine than to enjoy a three course meal.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of having Ed as our server. He was absolutely fantastic. Great recommendations and knowledge of the menu! You order all of the food at once and they time the delivery as you work your way through your meals. Food was delicious! Short rib and lamanche pasta were incredible. Second floor seating was private and intimate. we received constant attention from Ed and we will definitely be back. Dessert was also spectacular and we even received a nice surprise from Ed for our anniversary dinner. 11/10

Yelp
Ambiance is fantastic. Classy, elegant yet not too stuffy. Food is really good. I loved the short rib large plate and their yeast rolls are a must for when you're waiting on your food. Cocktail was cute and Valentine themed. Love that they brought out complimentary sparkling rosé while we were looking at the menu. Tuna tartare was good but didn't necessarily stand out. Boudin sausage was flavorful but kind of miss that it wasn't in a ball. Service is 10/10 easily. Had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'll start with the positives. The service! Our waiter was great. He did a great job explaining how they operate and why and when the menus change. The reassurance is very nice. Nicely lit and not too loud yo hold a conversation. The prices are $$$$ and the portions are small. Be prepared to order several items. The food is well worth the $$$$. However it's not a place I would visit more than once or twice.

Yelp
Top notch service with amazing food. I have been curious about this place for a while now and I'm so glad I finally tried it. I got the pear martini, which I was so excited to see as it's difficult to find. Highly recommend the bison Bolognese! Gorgeous location for a date night or business dinner.

Yelp
My wife and I had the most amazing experience at Peppervine. I can't say it enough that everyone must try the Yeast Rolls and the Scones with the pepper jelly. And you must finish off with their amazing deserts! Unbelievable! The atmosphere was perfect. The food was outstanding and the service was second to none. If I can give the kitchen staff (Chef Will and Pastry Chef Josh), our server (Kathryn), and manager Tommy a 6th star I would.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. I only heard reviews and never been here before. The space was beautiful, the restaurant was full, and the wait staff was attentive. The owner dropped by our table as well. We ordered the pimento cheese scones with sorghum butter and pepper jelly. These were amazing.! We had intended to try their Prix Fixe menu ( 3 course dinner for two plus a glass of wine for 116.00) but the Elk was not offered so we ordered a la carte. My husband also ordered the yellowfin tuna tartare. He was very happy. For our entrée, I ordered the mushroom agnolotti and thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was delectable. My husband ordered the Elk Rack. It was served on cream corn Brussels mushrooms with a bordelaise. It was very good. For dessert, we had the peach cobbler zeppole donuts. it was a very interesting twist on a traditional southern dessert. I would recommend. All in all, it was a great meal. I hope to come again soon.

Yelp
We tried Peppervine yesterday and omg every was soooo good. This is an American restaurant but they do serve some Asian dishes. It's more like an American fusion restaurant I guess. Everything is made from scratch and using local ingredients so the menu changes depends on what's available. But everything was delicious! The service was impeccable. The food was top notch. I regret not trying this earlier. Y'all should definitely check it out! We ordered the pork belly, the green curry hot pot, yeast rolls as starter. The rolls was soft and freshly baked, the pork belly was delicious, and the green curry was amazing. The monk fish and mussels were fresh and soft, not chewy or fishy. I got the 24 hours short ribs and it was delicious melt in your mouth. My husband kept making "uhm" noises when he ate this dish so you know it's good. He got the veal ragu with house made pasta, this is my least favorite dish and I wouldn't order this one again but my husband loves it. We got the sorbet trio and ice cream trio for dessert. Also made in house. My husband kept saying they looks like sashimi because of the shape .

Yelp
Came here with girlfriends on Monday night. Service was good. The server gave us recommendation friendly and allowed us dine with our own pace. Food was great but on the pricey side (a little). The most impressive thing was octopus - juicy but not tender which was exactly what I like. Seafood were all fresh and the use of spice was point on. Pimento cheese scone was a must to start and green curry hotpot worth trying as well. Desserts were good but nothing surprisingly special. We did not order alcohol but it offered a good selection of drink, especially to pair desserts. Ambiance - work best for business conversation and date. Friend gathering was our purpose but apparently this is not a place for loud conversation.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL! Would definitely recommend a reservation. It is an upscale restaurant without feeling too stuffy. The waiter explained that the menu changes season to season. To start with we got the yeast rolls and the pimento cheese scones. The yeast rolls were good, but I would probably skip next time as they aren't too unique. The pimento cheese scones though, my favorite thing we got (they were so good I got an order to go). They came with sorghum butter, salted butter and pepper jelly. They were so good, you need them. For entrees, he suggested to get a few and share, so we did. We ordered the pork belly to start, and I will say the pork belly was extremely tender. It was topped with an apple parsnip purée that was fantastic. The next entree we got was the veal ragu. This was my favorite of the entrees. The handkerchief pasta was a first for me, and was just like a big sheet of pasta. The veal sauce was delicious and not overly heavy. The last entree we got was the 24 hour short rib. It was good, but not great. It wasn't as tender as I was expecting, and at $34 it was the most expensive entree. We looked at the dessert menu, but nothing WOWed us, but they brought me a complimentary key lime tart for my birthday (it was so yummy). Absolutely loved this restaurant, our waiter, and of course the food.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing and exceeded my expectations in every way!! You can't go wrong with any dish. For bread, we got the scones and rolls and you have to try them! The sweet butter that complements the rolls is to die for. For appetizers, we got the spare ribs, tuna tartare, and pork belly. They were all amazing. The spare ribs were so tender, the tuna tartare was perfectly balanced, and the pork belly had amazing beets and sauce on it. For entrees, we got the swordfish, pork chop, two pastas, and short rib. The lumache pasta and boar bolognese were exceptional!! I never find pastas the highlight of my meals but they definitely were. Perfect balance of flavors. For dessert, we got the sticky toffee pudding, apple cobbler and cheesecake. Definitely get the sticky toffee pudding and apple cobbler. The cheesecake you can skip. Service was also 10/10. Our server was super nice and friendly.

Yelp
So here's what I'll say about this restaurant. Everything seems to be made with intention, the flavors just weren't everything I wanted for the caliber of the restaurant. Do not get me wrong, I am giving it 4 stars for a reason, but that's why I'm not giving it 5. To start, we got the scones, which were my favorite part of the meal. They weren't too cheesy, and so unique and tasty. For our app, we got the prawns. Taste just wasn't worth the $30 something we spent for them. For my main, I got the branzino. Fish itself was lovely and cooked perfectly. The sauce it came with was complex and tasted good, but it was very sweet and there was too much of it. The couscous was swimming in it and I just felt like it took over the dish entirely. My boyfriend was a big fan, but he likes sweeter things more than me. He ordered the steak and liked it very much. Our meal was still solid, but not planning to come back on our next trip to Charlotte.

Yelp
My husband & I went to Peppervine for my birthday and had a wonderful experience. They have an extensive wine list. The drinks were well made and the food was delicious. You could really tell the chefs took their time and prepared our meal with care. The general manager Tommy was personable and kind and I look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
At least once a week, I take a night off from cooking. This week, my husband and I really wanted something new, a place that we haven't tried yet and we landed on Peppervine. This was during the week and later in the evening so when got there, we were able to get a table on the patio with no wait. The weather here in Charlotte has been amazing this past week and it's too lovely to be inside. The patio at Peppervine feels like a secluded little haven. The glass-enclosed fire pit was going and the atmosphere was lively so the evening was wonderful from the get-go. Surveying the wine menu, I noticed an option to "be surprised" with a glass of wine chosen for you. As it turned out, the wine was chosen by the General Manager and Wine Director for Peppervine, Tommy. He brought a glass of Portuguese Vinho Verde and explained the characteristics of the wine and why it feels, on the palate, like it's slightly effervescent. Tommy is charming and the wine was delightful. We moved on to ordering, and the preference at Peppervine is that you order all at once and they stage your meal for you. It was nice to order and be done with it. It was staged very well, and our service was excellent. We started with pimento scones, fried oysters from the menu, and their tuna tartare which was a special that evening. All three were perfectly balanced and hit the right notes of savory, bright pops of acidity, combinations of textures, and being very visually appealing. We were a little indulgent on the apps so I went with a small plate for my entre and chose the Spanish Octopus. It is a flavor explosion in the best possible way. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender accompanied by a beautiful carrot romesco, fingerling potatoes, thinly sliced brussels sprouts, and crispy bits of chorizo. The chorizo and harissa give it just a kiss of spice that, for me, make it something truly special. I cannot recommend Peppervine enough, and we will definitely be going back! Soon.

Yelp
The pictures do not do justice! We love going to Peppervine for special occasions. Their service and food is always outstanding. When it first opened, it was so easy to walk in and grab a table. This last time that we went, it was packed on a Friday night, and I'm so glad we made a reservation! Love to see that this place is getting the love that it deserves!

Yelp
Ed was our server and he was one of the best I've ever had. Wanted to take him home in my pocket. Loved him so much. You are awesome Ed!

Yelp
TLDR: under seasoned basic dishes with a sticker price only worthy of the fancy restaurant name. underwhelming. Cocktails were dowsed in liquors overpowering any alcohol (I like mezcal so this is no good). Food was underwhelming on all accounts. Branzino was under seasoned and the bed of veggies were cooked but refrigerator cold (this took 45 minutes to get to our table). We also got the mushroom pasta dish which was cautiously portioned and not the greatest. The bolognese was lacking flavor as well. Just not a great meal... not sure what all the hype is about.

Yelp
Excellent upscale dining experience with great service. We came on a Wed night around 6:30 (had a reservation) and the place had plenty of seating - but larger groups started showing up and the place was almost full. Beer selections were narrow since it's more of a wine place - but they did have an IPA on tap that fit the bill. We started with the Elote Cauliflower ($16) and it was flavorful and a healthy serving. We also ordered the Yeast Rolls ($7) since everyone seemed to be getting them - we weren't fans (didn't seem fully cooked). My bride ordered the Verlasso Salmon ($29) and she really enjoyed it - it was well cooked/prepared. I ordered the Boar Bolognese ($25) and it was really tasty. It was our anniversary, so they brought us out a complimentary Key Lime pie and my wife said it was really good. Service from Brad was outstanding and super friendly. We would definitely come back again for those special type evenings.

Yelp
This is one of the best dining experiences I have had in Charlotte. Great staff and amazing food and cocktails. The meal presentation was beautiful. They serve the food at your pace so you can truly enjoy your dining experience. Make sure to save room for dessert. Paige took great care of us; make sure to request her for your server. And get a delicious cocktail from Woody behind the bar!

Yelp
They have a very nice decor and upscale feel. The staff is courteous and kind. We ordered the little gem salad and the 24 hour braised short rib. The salad was a little plain in flavor. I didn't find the flavors in the dressing to stand out too much. But the ingredients were fresh and the flavors refreshing. The 24 hour short rib was excellent. Very soft and the accompanying vegetables were very tasty. To be honest they're shareable plates but I think one appetizer and one main was enough even for two. For dessert we got the hazelnut bar. It's very tasty. The donuts at the table next to me also looked good but I had to mind my calories and not get two desserts. In short, this was a great dining experience across the board. I would certainly come back. Great for a date night!

Yelp
Great place, first time trying it fir my gfs bday. Its a nice fancy restaurant that is not too stuffy. The food and service are good and the prices some of the better ones around. Could use an extra item or 2 on the menu more kid/basic dude eating friendly and another dessert or two. Regardless, It was a great find and we will certainly be back

Yelp
Last night we ate here and were disappointed. I ordered the shortribs and the kale salad. Both had wonderful flavor and presentation but there were two problems, which are unforgivable at this price point. The items accompanying the beef (broccolini, etc) were intensely salty, so salty it made my tongue sting and I couldn't finish them. The other problem was with the kale salad which was gritty; apparently it had not been washed thoroughly and still contained bits of sand or dirt. Few things are less appealing to me than grinding grit between my teeth when eating. We have eaten here before, as have several friends, and all have had really good experiences. I hate to have to tell them that carelessness seems to be ruining the food. Next time we are looking for a nice meal, I'm afraid we'll have to go somewhere else.

Yelp
The dining experience last night was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was crafted with precision, offering a perfect balance of flavors and presentation. The attention to detail in both the food and service truly elevated the evening. Really good food! Try their Ice Cream Trios for dessert--you won't regret it!

Yelp
Pictured: Penicillin Cocktail (9/10) Pimento Cheese Scones (9.5/10) Thai Pork Spare Rib (7.5/10) Lumache Pasta (10/10) 24 Hour Short Rib (8.5/10) Strawberry Semifreddo (9/10) Likes: The Lumache Pasta is one of the best pasta's I've ever had and it is on my top 3 pasta dishes in all of Charlotte! I loved the Pimento Cheese Scones, they were crunchy on the outside with a warm and pillowy center, perfectly paired with the Sorghum Butter and Pepper Jelly. The interior of this restaurant is gorgeous and sure to impress a date or anyone you bring! Dislikes: I thought the Thai Pork Spare Rib could've been better, it lacked flavor and needed something to compliment it better. Overall Rating: 4.5

Yelp
After hearing many great things about Peppervine, stopped in to use an anniversary gift card. From start to finish, arrival to departure, Peppervine is an experience that you should have. The menu is super eclectic, especially in the manner in which it's presented. There are a variety of exotic dishes such as boar and octopus, but there are also various meats/poultry, seafood, salads etc. But all of the dishes are prepared in such a different way that peaks your interest. They also have an excellent selection of wines by the glass or the bottle! The staff is super friendly and accommodating! They explain the restaurant's menu concept and shares suggestions based on your palate, hunger level, etc. it's truly an experience that you should try! And the restaurant makes you feel like you're out of the country on vacation, which is a VERY nice feel, despite the pandemic.

Yelp
Date Night before Christmas! My boyfriend and I wanted to buy each other a dinner out on the town as a special treat for a Christmas present for each other and Peppervine was such a lovely experience! Our server and wait staff was super friendly and helpful and ninja quick and placing and removing everything from drinks to food the entire night. It was very romantic and we enjoyed our meal immensely. They took the effort to pair meals with wines and we now have a new white wine will add to our personal favorites! We started with the yeast rolls, little gem salad and yellowfin tuna tartare. We both agreed the gem salad was fresh and bright with holiday flare. The tuna was high quality and we enjoyed it but it wasn't more than the same level of sushi flavors we are used to so it didn't add anything new or interesting flavor wise. We loved our main courses, I had the lamb pappardelle and my boyfriend had Bison pasta but they were both delicious and we thought the sauces were full of rich flavor. Lastly, we split the Chocolate Turtle tart and that was surprisingly light for all the components. Thanks for a great dinner, Peppervine!

Yelp
It baffles me as to why I have not discovered this restaurant sooner. From the moment you walked in, this restaurant is beautiful. The bar looked hip and inviting. Our drinks were Lemon Drop Martini and Old Fashion, both were well made so we had a few. I tried the signature yeast rolls but thought it was undercooked. The smoked Cauliflower soup was divine. Creamy but still light with smoky well seasoned taste. We also had Spanish Octopus as a starter and it was one of the best tasting Octopus we have had in a while. It was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with the mole Amarillo. For main course we had Boar Bolognese and 24 Hour Short Ribs. Both were delicious but the Short Ribs was the star. The Short ribs was super moist and tender and I really enjoyed the Udon Asian flavors. We shared Caramel Panna Cotta for dessert and that was a perfect way to end our meal. It was super creamy and rich without being too sweet. The service here was impeccable. Our water never ran dry and someone was always close by when we needed anything. We will definitely come back again and would bring out of town guests here for sure.
