"Perc has multiple locations but the one in the Highlands always serves us some small-town charm with our coffee. The surrounding quaint shops of the VaHi strip and retro, mint-colored order counter are a welcome escape from the busy metro (especially after braving the many potholed Peachtree streets). But signature drinks, like My Morning Jacket (a latte with vanilla, black walnut bitters, and spices) still appeal to our big city tastes. Those aren't the only tempting flavors on the menu—Perc also has waffles that are basically desserts, like their Waffogato, a half waffle with vanilla ice cream and a shot of mild espresso. We always try to snag the table by the window for excellent views of the main strip." - juli horsford
"Perc Coffee Roasters opened its first Atlanta-area coffee shop at the Hosea + 2nd development in East Lake in 2020. The company has expanded rapidly in the Atlanta area over the last several years, including opening a Virginia-Highland location in 2021, Grant Park location (in the former Full Commission space) in 2023, and two locations in 2024 (Tucker and Chastain). The Good Times Latte and the Crunchwrap are must-order items at all Perc locations." - Eugene Buchko
"Perc has two Atlanta locations—one in the Highlands and one in East Lake. At the Highlands location, natural light bounces off of their pastel green, blue, and pink surfaces. It feels like a small-town coffee shop as you approach the curved counter. Yet, signature drinks, like My Morning Jacket (a latte with vanilla, black walnut bitters, and spices) feel a bit more city slickish. Those aren't the only tempting flavors on the menu—Perc also has waffles that are basically desserts, like their Waffogato, a half waffle with vanilla ice cream and a shot of mild espresso. We always try to snag the table by the window for excellent views of the main strip." - Juli Horsford
"A crowded local coffee shop, indicating a need for more coffee shops around town." - Beth McKibben
"Perc Coffee Roasters opens its first Atlanta-area coffee shop next month. The Savannah-based coffee shop resides in the second phase of the development, located at the corner of Hosea L. Williams Drive and 2nd Avenue. Owner Philip Brown tapped Atlanta baker Sarah Dodge to oversee the food for Perc Coffee. The shop opens as a walk-up window with patio seating in early August." - Beth McKibben
