I dined at Percy for brunch, with a reservation set for 10:45 AM. We arrived a bit early, checking in at 10:32 AM, and were kindly directed to wait in the lounge while our table was being prepared. However, the experience took a slight downturn when a staffer in a vibrant Kelly green sweater and clogs approached us with a questions, only to realize we were the guests with a reservation, not just walk-ins who sat themselves down. Shortly after the same hostess returned to ask us the same questions from our initial check in, and we were seated at 10:50 AM.
While our waiter was friendly, the initial interactions with the hostess, who I assume was the general manager but didn’t introduce herself, dampened the start of our brunch.
On the bright side, the food was a highlight! The latkes were spectacular—crispy and flavorful, while the pancakes were impressive, a perfect balance of taste without being overly sweet. A good portion size, they make for a great shareable item. The drinks were creative and delicious. I appreciated that we didn’t feel rushed after our meal, allowing us to converse after paying our bill.
I did find the menu a bit limited, and I was taken aback by the price of a side of eggs at $4 for one egg.
Despite the rocky start, I would definitely consider returning for dinner and relaxing in the vinyl room.
