Seattle’s Best Tea Shops | Eater Seattle

"This little brick store, tucked away from Pike Place Market’s bustle in Post Alley, has an old-timey British feel and some of the most complex-tasting teas in the city (often supplied to other cafes). It sells not just leaves but a wide selection of brewing equipment; for online orders, shipping is free if you spend more than $100 (which is surprisingly easy to do)." - Dylan Joffe

A lovely experience. I bought a few herbal teas, cannot wait to try them. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable. The shop is curated and has an eclectic vibe.

I bought a blood orange black tea from this shop a year ago while I was visiting from out of state. I've been meaning to post a review since I visited, but I'm glad to be able to share now. I had a lovely experience buying in-store. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. I'm still drinking the tea, one year later, and it's still fresh and brews perfectly. It's never been bitter - even when I forget I've started a tea and over-brew it. I hope every tea lover has the opportunity to step into this shop. I recommend it to everyone visiting Seattle.

Google
Cute shop but if you can't sit down with a pot of tea is it really a tea room? Great selection of loose teas, they can make you a cup hot or cold, but it's a tea shop as opposed to a genuine tea room. No chairs, tables, teapots, or milk/ cream. But the to-go almond cookie tea was good.

Google
This was such a find next to Pike Market! Finding and buying tea here was very comprehensive and also very easy. I told the worker some flavors I liked and she brought out some recommendations. Both of the workers there were highly knowledgeable and helped me find what I wanted. I even learned that you can re-steep tea from them! The loose leaf tea I bought easily got through TSA in my carry-on. Highly highly recommend visiting here to find a flavor you enjoy!

Google
Cutest tea spot in the CUTEST alley in all of Seattle. This adorable team room in Post Alley is totally worth the trip. Steps away from Pike Market, it is easy to find, yet a world away. They have a variety of warm and cold teas each day. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the alley is adorable. 10/10!!!!

Google
Awesome tea shop tucked away off the main streets. They had an excellent selection and the staff was unbelievably knowledgeable about all things tea related. You can also get a cup of any of their teas brewed to try it. Highly recommend stopping by

Google
Spent about a hour trying to find this place because the market is in every direction. I called and gave my location and I was given great instructions on how to find them. Once I got in there, I was warmly greeted. I was able to pick out a couple of teas for myself by providing what I normally drink. I hope to come back one day if I'm ever in Seattle again.

Yelp
There are lots of loose leaf tea options here! Located in post alley, it's a quaint little tea store. GLOWS: -Overall branding is very nice -Staff was very nice and explained everything well. -They have a measuring system for purchasing and give great directions on how to steep teas. GROWS: -There were not tea samples, so there was no incentive to try new flavors without feeling like you had to take a risk. I actually don't like the tea very much I ended up getting.

Yelp
I should've expected this to be a tourist trap. As someone who has ventured into many tea shops throughout Washington, this one was underwhelming. If you appreciate tea it's a nice place to visit at least once, especially if you're in Pike Place Market, but it's not special. They do have a large selection of tea but I wasn't impressed by it. The majority of the menu is basic blends you can find anywhere else, with the exception of some expensive Chinese teas and a few unique blends. I've also never seen a tea shop that exists strictly for flavor, because that's not what tea is about. You don't have to claim that the tea has health benefits, but you can still explain what it is often used for. It's not even clear what the "flavors" are because no one explains it to you and the menu is not labeled with things like "sweet, earthy, minty, etc...". It simply lists ingredients. To me that's just lazy. The prices are reasonable, with a 2oz minimum purchase. I also didn't feel the full friendly hospitality as I think a tea shop should have. It is a buy-and-go kind of shop.

Yelp
Really cool store off the main street of Pike's Place. The staff were really friendly and all the teas smelled amazing. Picked up a strawberry tea for my brother-in-law and a can of matcha. Would highly recommend if you're a tea lover or if you're looking for a gift for a tea lover!

Yelp
Friendly staff and cute ambiance. Staff are well educated about different kinds of teas and brews. almond sugar cookie, mint and vanilla cream were our favorite blends. Bought a bunch of souvenirs of small tea bags for friends & family

Yelp
First, I have to give a huge shout out to Michaela! She is so incredibly informative, patient and kind. I guess I looked up because I was the only one in the shop so I was able to get her full attention. The variety that they have the offer is just amazing. She wonderfully explained all of the different aspects of each of the teas that I purchased. I brought them back to the East Coast and everything forward to enjoying them over the next few weeks. After you stop here go to Le Panier and make a perfect pairing of pastry and tea.

Yelp
++++++ T E A S ++++++ They sell two different hot teas each day and they sell an immense variety of tea leaves from $3 an ounce to $200 an ounce, they have it all! They also have decaffeinated options too! [+] RASPBERRY BLACK TEA - $4 for 16 oz This was delicious and very high quality tea that they steep to order! ++++++ S E R V I C E ++++++ Alia who was on staff that day was super friendly! She really knows her teas! She answered all our questions and was very helpful! We also nerded out together about Becky Chambers novels! They were selling her book "A Psalm for the Wild Built" which is about a tea monk and a robot hahah. She was also really apologetic when she told us they didn't have any more lids for cups, which was sweet. ++++++ A M B I A N C E ++++++ This is a darling tea shop across the way from Post Alley and the Pink Door! I loved the aesthetic! Colorful tea pots and glass jars full of tea! There are also a ton of tea books and tea equipment! Adorable and very visually appealing! ++++++ O V E R A L L ++++++ This place is a little pricey but they know their stuff and also in a PRIMO location. Knowledge like that is worth a lot! Alia says that they hope to do tastings soon!! Next time I want to get their Earl Grey EXTRA tea leaves! It has extra bergamot oil! I definitely will be coming back to Perennial Tea when I'm in Seattle, hopefully by then they will have tea tastings again!

Yelp
This was a really sweet little treat to the end of my vacation in Seattle. I was looking for a tea shop and I knew I had seen one on Yelp that was near the pikes market place but I couldn't find it that day so this really nice man at the fruit stand said," hey I think it's right down that way". I finally found this cute little tea shop, and was so happy. Inside there were many teas in jars and lots of adorable little tea pots to brew them in. I decided to buy two bags I bought one bag of earl gray with extra Bergamont, which the lady said was delicious, and the other one was another Earl Grey, that had Bergamont and rosemary and something else in it, but it sounded delightful. I decided to take a business card as well and when I get home and I am low on the tea I'm going to continue to order from them because it's great to find a good shop like this that has really good tea. I have high hopes for this and I'm pretty sure I'm right. I also am going to buy a bag for my best friend since we both love to exchange different delicious teas and she is very good at buying the expensive ones and I am very good at buying the cheap ones so now I think it's time for me to change and up my taste. Let you know later if this was great or not but I have a feeling it'll be wonderful.

Yelp
I love coming to the perennial tea room! The staff is extremely kind and willing to help with tea selection. They also have some teas brewed for on the go beverages. The space has a ton of tea equipment as will and the staff is very willing to talk you through their favorites. If you're in Pike Place and you're a tea lover, I highly recommend you check it out.

Yelp
This is the most relaxing, zen, lovely tea shop. You walk in an ladies were knitting. I'm a huge tea lover and the inventory and options of lose leaf tea were just exceptional. They have 3-4 teas on tap and rotate options daily. The staff is so knowledgeable of the offerings. They also serve clean, high quality, useable team pots, mugs, strainers etc. I bought a tea mug with an infuzer built in. We stopped in here 2 times. The first time we tried the black sticky rice tea on tap. This was unlike anything I've tried and o regret not getting some lose leave tea of this kind. It smelled like sticky rice and had a sticky rice after taste. The next day I got a green tea, good but standard. My partner got the Seattle chai and really enjoyed it. They also have a nice seating area in front of the shop to sit down and enjoy a'cuppa. Highly recommend for tea lovers!

Yelp
Cute hole in a wall tea shop in Pike Place~ My BF and I stopped here for a tea break post Pink Door. They sell various of tea leaf by ounces and limited to go freshly brewed teas. We got two small earl grey tea on the go. The teas were flavorful, rich in flavor and unique from other teas I've had. Would def love to try the other teas here. Highly recommend checking this place out for a much needed tea break post food coma.

Yelp
Holy cow this place has a great selection of teas. I'm not very well versed in the subtle differences of each tea, trust me when I say they have a nice variety, there is probably something for everyone here. If you don't like brewing loose leaf, you can also purchase bagged teas from all over the world. British tea lovers rejoice! They have Yorkshire Gold in stock if you prefer a British tea. Located in a back alley near Pike Place, i find myself grabbing a few ounces of different teas every time I come by. It's off the beaten path near The Pink Door nestled between other shops. They don't sell just tea though. You can pick up wares like teapots and small items to help you brew that perfect cup! They have small offerings of freshly brewed tea to sample just in case you needed some sort of inspiration for your purchase. The staff is great and very helpful if you have questions. They've always been super nice whenever I've gone in there. If you purchase it in the store you will get a better deal versus buying online. Some teas do have a minimum amount. Who buys less than two ounces anyways? A very good question! I find myself gravitating towards the oolongs they carry and always buy some of the almond sugar cookie for myself and others when I stop by. Why is the almond sugar cookie one of the best selling blends? We'll see for yourself because you'll be hooked just like everyone I've gifted tea to. Sure you could go to the other great tea shops in the area, but if you're at the market you might as well stop by.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Didn't get the name of the lovely young lady who helped us, but we were traveling and hadn't brought with us enough tea for two Sunday tea meditations. So, we headed over to PTR, and after much interesting conversation about the nuances of pu erh, we settled on a loose leaf version that we wound up absolutely loving!!

Yelp
This shop is a hidden gem in the Pike Place Market. The retail part of the shop has quality items at a reasonable cost. If you are a loose tea drinker check out the large infuser that has arms which fold in/out, and a handy carrying case. I invested in four of them a decade ago and they have been a pleasure to use every single time I brew a pot. The other side of the shop has two walls which display over fifty tea blends, including two types of rooibos. The customer service is always excellent and cheerful. They sell tea by the cup, and offer to let you smell the jars of tea. You can get a discount if you are a member of the Seattle Art Museum, or purchase more than a certain amount. They will ship orders. We live nearby and it's hard to imagine how they get it here (no charge) within 36 hours, but they do. If your idea of a good idea is to put the kettle on, you should definitely check this charming place out!

Yelp
They have a huge selection of tea and even have decaf options for my mother who cannot do caffeine. The prices are expensive compared to grocery tea bags but reasonable for a tea shop like this. Loose leaf teas are priced by weight (in grams) and tea bags are available too. Though the question about a tip when we paid caught me off guard. I didn't expect it from a retail store. The staff is courteous and helpful. They do deserve a tip but I do hope they get paid enough not to rely on the tip as it is uncommon for retail stores. My recommendations: Earl grey extra and Seattle Chai, and

Yelp
Catching up on Yelp reviews. This was for a crowded, warm summer visit back on 8/12/18. Perrenial Tea Room has been around a long time along Post Alley at Pike Place Market. Counter service are available to assist and answer questions. They encourage wandering through their shop. Lots of tea varieties and other merchandise on display. Look forward to brewing the two types of black teas purchased in convenient two ounce portions, Ceylon Kenilworth and Ali's Earl Grey.

Yelp
I've been looking for a good loose leaf tea place for so long! I used to go to another one in Seattle but they were always out of the basics and the owners were super unethical and unkind to their staff. Not only do they have the basics always in stock but the staff is so kind and the owner works on the floor with them! All of the employees are obviously very knowledgeable about the tea they're selling and I feel so comfortable asking questions and talking to them. This is where aim getting all my tea from now on!

Mitchell G.

Yelp
This place was such a refreshing place for my last vacation day. The service was top-notch; the girl who helped me out, she was great. She pointed me in the right direction for all of my suggestions and criteria. Very patient and knew which ones to look for. The aromas and smells when the teas were presented were very encouraging when deciding which ones to get. Very glad to have visited this shop and will definitely stop by again when I'm back in town. Also they had some brewed teas for sale and the hisbiscus tea I got was very delicious and refreshing for a hot day. Overall, would recommend this shop to anyone who can appreciate a good cup of tea!
google avatar

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best places to discover new varieties and flavors of tea! They have the classics (like morning black teas, some fresh greens and tisanes) as well as some out of the box or harder flavors to find (a cherry sencha tea, coconut pouchong, and some of the lesser known Harney and Sons teas, like the Heirloom Bartlett Pear). They have books on tea as well as tea wares, and a knowledgeable staff who can answer all your tea questions and recommend some new types to try. Also this shop smells so good. I would give more stars if I could. Come see for yourself!

Yelp
Charming tea shop to visit while in Seattle. A comfortable interior, with pre packaged tea and accessories on the left and "by the weight" teas on the right. The customer service is wonderful and the women are friendly and approachable.

Sami M.

Yelp
Worst customer service I have ever received at a tea shop, disgusting employees who won't let you even waft the tea leaves before purchase. Stay away.

Yelp
I ordered their oolong tea on tap and it was VERY VERY watered down to the point that it tasted almost like water. Very disappointing. BUT the service was very nice and friendly!

Yelp
It doesn't matter how much it rains in Seattle, people are willing to grin and bear the elements to meander through the bustling Pike Place Market area. And why not? It's a world-class fishermen-and-farmers market where you need to duck to avoid concussion by hurling halibut. Post Alley can get just as hectic with people inexplicably drawn to one section where the Pike Place Market Gum Wall continues to grow by the wad (review: http://bit.ly/2tZevaA) and on another section where unique social spots like The Pink Door and the White Horse Trading Company reside (photo: http://bit.ly/2t5alBI). That section of the alley is where Jamie W. and I found this compact English-style tea room, and we were in need of a spot of tea as wet as we were. Shelves of loose-leaf teas were available for the tasting, but alas there were only two cafe tables next to the window. As a perpetually photo-snapping Asian couple finally left a table, I swooped in with my wet umbrella and raggedy backpack and let Jamie do the tasting and ordering. He made a wise choice in the White Peach, an organic herbal creation with a smooth finish that could have met a peach along the way (photo: http://bit.ly/2t5v5JP). Service was a bit on the unctuous side as they were encouraging us to buy a bag or two of the various tea leaves at the same time. A full-fledged tea accessory shop took up the other half the space (photo: http://bit.ly/2t5xGTv), so if you're looking to avoid the rain, this could do the trick for a few dry, tranquil minutes. TEA - 3 stars...a decent cuppa tea that doesn't linger too long in the memory AMBIANCE - 3 stars...a bit tight to provide true teatime comfort SERVICE - 2.5 stars...a little too salesy for a tea room TOTAL - 3 stars...take a break amid the hurly burly of Pike Place

Yelp
Perennial Tea is a great place to shop. The staff is very friendly and passionate about tea. Plus their prices are very reasonable for the good quality. Generally I visit Mariage Freres in Paris once or twice a year and purchase most of my tea for the year but I severely stocked up last week at Perennial. For just under $100 I walked out with exactly 2 pounds of excellent loose leaf teas in 9 different flavors. For this quantity I would've spent at least €250 at Mariage Freres with slightly higher quality. So far all of the tea purchased at Perennial have been very good but the Turkish blend, Yunnan Imperial, Khongea Assam and Moroccan Mint really stood out. Not much more can be said except if you like tea and in Seattle do yourself a favor and visit Perennial.
google avatar

Jozef S.

Yelp
Definitely stop by here if you or someone you know likes tea! They have a great selection of loose leaf and merchandise; as a Portlander who frequents Tao of Tea and Townshend's, I'm always pleasantly surprised when a tea shop has blends that one of those shops doesn't. Perennial now joins Miro on my shortlist of go-to tea shops in Seattle, and I'm sure that if you go, you'll be happy you went!

Yelp
Enjoyed a very educational conversation with Aliya. The passion for tea is contagious. The actual tea is also five star.

Yelp
A sweet, relaxing tea room in the heart of Pike Place Market to get away from the crowds. The staff here were super helpful when my wife and I came by and it was cool to be able to smell the aromas of the teas we were interested in. Being lavender fans, we thoroughly enjoyed our cups of lemon chamomile lavender and lavender earl grey. Seating is a limited to just a few small tables, but they seemed to be more than adequate for the amount of visitors interested in sticking around to sip.

Yelp
I don't go here all that often because parking near Pike Place Market is usually an ordeal, and because I buy a whole pound of tea on each visit. It takes quite a while to use up a pound of tea, even if I measure it pretty strong. But I've been going here for years (long before I started doing Yelp check-ins), and it's a great little store. They have all sorts of tea, from the ordinary (such as English breakfast) to the fairly exotic (such as my favorite, Lapsang souchong), decoratively displayed in bulk jars in the left side (as viewed from the entrance) of the store. The selection seems to be less comprehensive for herb teas. (But maybe I haven't looked closely.) That's not a problem for me; about the only herb tea I drink regularly is rooibos. Hint: if you like drinking the same tea over and over, it's a good idea to buy a pound or more; they offer a discount for buying that much. But if you want to try something new, you can buy a small taster portion, and sometimes even taste samples in the store. On the right side of the store, they have an assortment of tea accessories -- which I don't really need, since I've accumulated plenty of tea paraphernalia over the years. I usually see the same friendly woman working there. I'm not sure whether she's the boss or just a long-term employee who works there when I'm likely to be there. But she knows her stuff about tea. Everyone else I've encountered there has too. Minuses are the parking, but that's not their fault, and no public restroom, but they can give simple directions to a public restroom with cool tile floors. And once when I was desperate (from drinking too much tea) they let me use the employee restroom. By the way, the reason I'm writing this today is that their chain store competitor Teavana just shut down. Yes, the little guys that have been there since 1995 beat the big guys.

Yelp
Charming and cute tar boutique located on the side street near Pike Place. Friendly, welcoming, and informative staff. She explained the difference between black and white teas. There is an abundance of various teas from all over the world. You are able to purchase a bag, a tin, or large amounts of teas. I definitely recommended opening up each container and smelling the different types of teas they have available. They also sell tumblers, cups, and anything needed to steep your tea in. Great place to buy something for a tea lover in your life!

Yelp
I'm in love with this tea shop! Wish I lived in the area, because this would be my hang out! We sat by a sunny window to rest our feet from shopping and sightseeing and fell in love with the shop, the teas, the owners! They carry a huge selection of loose teas and all of the accessories you might need to brew the perfect cup! They brew a variety throughout the day so you can have it iced too! I bought many samples to bring back home to Los Angeles (the wonderful owners are originally from South Cal! "Blue Eyes" has become my very favorite! It is so flavorful and it has a beautiful color! I order from family and friends visiting the area! Waiting on my son to come home with a pound any time now :) I know when I have the opportunity to fly back into Seattle this will be at the top of my list to visit!

Yelp
Calm, smells, quaint. The vibe I got in this place was amazing. It's like a Pokemon Trainer threw in a lure and drew me near, but Pokemon Go was down so I couldn't play. As soon as I walked in, the burst of delicious smells filled into my lungs and cleared my soul. I went around smelling different teas/herbs and I finally found the smell and not too strong tea that wanted me, I asked to try it out. That Blueberry Green Tea smelled amazing! The cashier said that they didn't serve it at the moment and only served what was brewed. But she was really kind and went to the back and found an already open box for me to try. She continued on to prepare my tea and I sat down by the window to relax and enjoy my very own zen time. I sat for what seemed a short amount of time reflecting on how beautiful this place was and how my week was going. Then my tea was ready, so I got up and took my tea cup to my table. I sat down and let it cool. It smelled so good!!!! Took my first sip and happiness clouded my head as the drink and smell filled my spirits! I was that happy, that I found a delicious beautiful hidden tea spot, away from all the noise of Pike Place Market! :)

Yelp
For me it's a one star, but for their vast selection and cute gift area: an added star. The Seattle Chai smelled great and I had that one, but in the end: I still hate American/English teas. I felt like the lady who helped me out was kind of a grouch and that largely ruined it for me. When I walked in I was ignored (which is fine), never paid attention to. But when other people who go in the store or way later: they all were spoken to. The lady who helped me out pointed out to another lady that certain people haven't been greeted/helped. There was someone else who came after me and they were greeted & helped for. So I felt like their a racial thing going on, but maybe that wasn't the case. Although cute, I wouldn't recommend this place. But for the selection: maybe.

Yelp
TEAriffic! For those who love tea or those who want something more than just your bargain boxed bags from the supermarket, this is the place to go. Located in Post Alley of a portion of the street I had not found till recently, this gem has been a locally owned small business for over 23 years. They purchase their tea ingredients from over 10 different companies giving you a huge selection and variety, plus they mix and make many of their own. With a HUGE selection of loose leaf teas and reasonable pricing for your per/oz purchase, I had to stop myself from purchasing some samples of everything in the store! You can purchase by the oz or there is 1/2 oz sample bags for $2 so you can try it before committing to 4oz of tea. All the teas are located in large jars which and the staff is friendly and encourages you to open and smell the different varieties. I ended up taking home a sample of apricot-peach and almond sugar cookies, both of which have been incredible! They even have other retail (tea kettles, accessories, specialty pre-bagged/boxed teas) which is perfect for gifts or a nice self-care gift to yourself. If you live in the area, this is a must try. If you don't make sure you visit this location when you are in the area...or visit their website to purchase tea they will then ship to you.

Yelp
I made an online order for pick-up. They were ready within hours and I was able to make a quick trip to the Post Alley. The pickup process was a breeze, everything was packed neatly in a paper bag and I was able to go home and try the various loose leaf teas I ordered. Each bag comes with the "recipe" for brewing (amount of tea, water, temperature and time to steep), which makes the process that much easier for a beginner like me.

Yelp
Awesome tea selection, super nice and efficient covid ordering process. Staff is super knowledgeable & the tea is delicious!

Yelp
In the city based off of coffee this place was a island of hope. I have I love tea and tea done right. This place warmed me up on a chilly day. They have a large variety of loose leaf teas. They will steep you a cup if you want one for the road. They also have some hot tea already made of your like me who is in such a hustle they don't want to wait! Go here! The staff is great, the space is great, and the tea is great!

Yelp
Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff! Some of us tea lovers that were loyal to Teavana have been left to figure something else out.. look no further! I actually wish I was coming to this place all along as I got way more info about what I was buying and the differences between the teas. What a gem and with it being in Post Alley it's nice to make a day out of the trip. Also, for the tea I couldn't find which I was wanting to replace I was given some recommendations as to where to search - that was awesome of the staff to help me like that. It's nice to walk into a place and have my needs assessed and met vs be sold on something I didn't want. High quality selection of delicious teas!

Yelp
If you like to know the smell of your tea before buying it, this is the place to go for lose leaf teas. I always have to stop in this Post Alley gem when I am in Pike Market. They always have the teas I am looking for and they encourage you to take the teas off the shelves and smell them to understand the flavors better.

Yelp
There is something so magical about little tea shops. They're peaceful, quiet and welcoming. This little tea place is located in the Post Alley so you'll have to make a little detour while you are roaming around Pike Place. However - it's a great time to just take a breath from all that crazy, pushy traffic of people. It's not too big of a place but enough for people to walk around and check out all that they have to offer. There were two women who welcomed us as we came in. Both of them were very sweet and friendly but slightly more on the quieter/shy side. I wish they were more willing to talk to us or ask us if we needed anything. We had to initiate the asking as we were browsing but that's okay too! The right side of the shop offers things from tea bags to tea party crackers. I adore that they have small little scent jars that you can pick up and smell to get an idea of the kind of aroma and taste you'll get from the teas. They also have beautiful tea sets that would make a great gift for any tea lover. On the left side of the shop is their set of loose leaf teas. These are teas that you'll need a tea strainer for in order to get the aroma and taste of the tea but not all the tea leaves in your tea cup. They also sell tea strainers here if you're just starting to get into loose leaf teas. I actually prefer loose leaf teas over the tea bags because I feel like they give a stronger taste and aromatic feel. However, if you don't have the time to brew your own loose leaf teas they offer loose leaf tea satchels. These are basically tea bags but made with loose leaf teas that you just stick in your cup! The loose leaf teas they have are in giant jars and they sell them by the ounce. You can also get a 1/2 ounce if you choose and some of the teas have minimum requirements. Most of them seem to have a minimum of 2 oz. They have loose leafs from green tea to black tea to white tea and others. I was afraid to pick up the jars and open them to smell them but I finally got around to asking if I could and she said I was welcome to. I love the smell of green tea leaves and had a lot of fun just taking in the aroma. I came here to get a birthday gift and ended up going for the Dragonwell green tea. This is one of their best sellers because it's not overly potent and strong like the Gunpowder is. We were originally going to get 4 oz of it but only 3 oz fit into the canister that we wanted to get. If you don't buy a canister for the tea they will either put it into a zip lock bag or a brown bag. They are willing to wrap these if you are giving it as a gift. The other option is to just buy the canister (which comes in 3 sizes and vary in price) which then they will just slide the tea leaves into the canister for you. 3 oz of the Dragonwell and a medium canister came to be a bit over $15. We were quite pleased with the prices here and I know that this canister will be several cups of teas. I will definitely be back for more tea products!

Yelp
A beautiful, quaint little tea shop that caters to all levels of tea lovers. It's nestled in the wonderful row of shops in Post Alley and offers a great retreat. My love of tea has slowly been evolving. From basic Lipton, to various new flavors, to decent bagged tea, and now moving onto loose tea. And not that I don't appreciate a good cup of fresh brewed Lipton. But I've learned to really enjoy a good cup of Earl Grey and Rooibos. The store is set up perfectly. An area for tea cups, tea pots, and tea time goodies. And another area of all the bulk loose teas and even some seats inside and out to enjoy a cup of tea. The staff is the icing on the cake. They know their craft, drink their tea, explore new flavors and are eager to teach you whatever you wish to know. I like that you can go in, tell them the flavors you seek, and go home with a perfect blend. They always have a few blends to try daily and promote the whole tea culture by hosting special dinners across town and having authors and tea connoisseurs visit and hold events. It's worth it to get on their list. I recommend even the tea skepticals to pop their head in and enjoy a free sample to see what all the fuss is about.

Yelp
You can choose any tea and they'll make you a cup there. They're also completely welcoming and allow you to take any of the teas off the shelf, explore and sniff your way to your perfect loose leaf! I ended up trying the Post Alley Cappuccino Rooibos. It was smooth, with a cappuccino aroma and slight coffee flavor. I could see it making a great tea latte. You can order the teas online if you like. Staff were very friendly, explaining the teas and even giving us a recommended shop in the Bay Area (where we are from) to try out when we finished our trip. Highly recommend this shop.

Yelp
In all fairness, I'm a tea snob so my review may differ from those that aren't. I've been in a couple of times so my review is somewhat cumulative. The service: A bit cold and awkward. We popped in and ordered tea about 30 minutes before they "stop serving" tea. They were a bit bothered at our late visit and encouraged to-go cups, we wanted to sit and relax from the cold and rain so whilst we got to-go cups we didn't "go" since we had another 30 minutes according to the sign to sit and relax and warm up with tea... the woman just stood there and watched us without any conversation and had the most impatient body language. It was really a really uncomfortable cup of tea to say the least. When we got up to go I tried to cordially look their way and smile but saw nothing except grumbling and wiping up. A bad day, maybe? But I spend thousands on tea, and a warm smile can go a long way for business... The tea: Meh - they keep it in clear glass - whilst at least airtight, light also degrades tea over time and I don't think their turnover for the "real tea" (non-flavored) is very fast, so the flavors are often "flat" and mildly "expired" in flavor. I likely won't pop in again after my last experience. As the Yelp 2 star phrase says "Meh. I've experienced better."

Yelp
Great tea selection and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff (thanks for the dinner recommendation, the cheese curds were amazing!). We first spotted the shop when we went to dinner at The Pink Door (also very good!) and knew we had to go back the next day to check this shop out. So glad that we did!

Yelp
Not only were each of the employees incredibly knowledgeable about the products they were selling, the products themselves are amazing. I have never seen such an assortment of tea before. My absolute favorite was the white coconut cream tea. They had a sample of it when I walked through and I had to buy not only a cup to sip on while walking around, but also bought the loose leaf tea to take home. After coming home from my trip, I had to buy online (as we don't have tea rooms like this in Texas) and the shipping was so prompt and quick. Perfectly packaged, too. I will buy from this place for the rest of my life, that's for sure.

Yelp
1. Price- fair but more expensive than other place I've visited before. 2. Selection- fair (I've seen more extensive selection but Perennial has unique offerings) 3. Service- fair (owner is warm and welcoming but is distracted very often) There's also discount offered for high volume purchase. I bought White Champagne Rasberry (which the owner described the taste as a summer cocktail, my first taste of the tea is that it's very pleasantly fragranced but the tea flavor falls flat) and Tahitian Blend (yet to be enjoyed).

Yelp
Yay tea! They have a huge selection of tea and tea brewing devices and you are buying local instead of from one of those big chains. The staff here is really friendly and knowledgeable so you have a great idea of what you are getting before you get it home. I've never been disappointed with any of my selections made here. Check them out next time you are around Pike Place Market they are hidden away in Post Alley.

Yelp
Quaint tea shop in Post Alley near Pike Pl Market. They always have teas for sampling and for loose leaf teas will gladly let you sniff before you buy. They also have several mugs, tea cookies, towels, diffusers and European-themed gifts for sale in addition to tea. Because it's such a small shop, the only real seating is on the outdoor patio, so it's really more of a place to purchase tea to go rather than a tea room to sit and sip. The service has always been friendly and knowledgeable here.

Yelp
Very interesting place but the owner is very rude. We ordered a variety of iced and hot teas that were all very tasty. One note is that they do not offer any honey to sweeten your tea which was a disappointment. There are better options for tea for tea around, skip this one.
