The Atlanta Restaurants Redefining What “Middle Eastern” Food Means - Eater Atlanta

"Of those, only Persepolis remains open today, but all three expanded Atlanta’s palate with offerings such as grilled koobideh (minced meat) and jujeh (chicken) kebabs; heaping plates of tahdig-crusted rice; and ghormeh sabzi, a dynamic combination of braised greens, fenugreek, kidney beans, and dried limes enveloping beef or lamb shank." - Sarra Sedghi

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious — I don’t usually order hummus, but theirs completely won me over. It was easily the best hummus I’ve ever had. The service was just as impressive. Our waiter, George, was incredibly attentive and pleasant throughout the meal. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, even surprising us with complimentary Persian tea at the end — a lovely touch that really made the evening special. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the warm, welcoming service. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Came here on a Saturday afternoon (3p) it was nice and not many people were in here. It was my first time trying Persian food and I loved it. Our waitress was so nice. There is a bit of a wait for the food but I loved it because everything came out fresh and hot. Will advice to order everything together or just remember not to get too full on the bread like I did. Overall would highly recommend and come back here again.

Google
We have been regulars here for over two decades! Dependable, consistent, authentic. All the staff are very nice and the food is great and it’s easy to have a conversation there. Since I can’t leave two reviews, I’ll add. We had the lunch buffet today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three different kabobs, two stews, veggies, and various salads and appetizers.

Google
Their Soltani Kebab is the most delicious thing I’ve ever had there. The bread was legendary. Thanks!

Google
We got a takeout order from here, totaling about 75$ for two meals and an order of bread. That price is similar to Yalda or Rumi’s, but unfortunately the quality and taste was not similar. The salmon was overdone and tasted plain, and the beef kebab I had tasted like pot roast, sadly. Large amount of food, mostly rice. The rice is yummy. Service was a nice older gentleman, and we really wanted to like this place as we’ve heard good things. Maybe don’t go on a weeknight? Or don’t get takeout? We won’t be returning.

Google
The bast tasting Persian food in the area !!!!! I’ve been coming here for 25 years now and I just LOVE ❤️ THIS PALACE!!!! Good food 👍 Good service 👍 Good atmosphere 👍 And they just reopened their buffet again for 7 days a week 11:30am-3:00pm

Google
It was my husband birthday celebration, it was our first time there ,but I truly recommend it,is relax and not too many people so we were able to talk in that long table. The appetizer combo was great, prices are reasonable.,the only detail I was disappointed is they don't have belly dancers any more😒😒

Google
The food was good, very good and wonderfully prepared and served. Very nice atmosphere. But, maybe just not my favorite cuisine. Rose water ice cream was nice. Didn't think it was a good value tho. We spent $200 for 4 of us and that is a lot lot of money for us for just one dinner.

Yelp
Buffet is back as of 2025-02 Everything was tasty But be advised. The price you are quoted on entry is not accurate. There is an 18% service fee added on for "service". Or is that just for certain customers? The receipt looks like a tip is expected on top of that No other buffet does this Not Rasoi in Roswell, not Moon in Alpharetta, not Sankranti in Johns Creek not Golden Corral Now you are advised

Yelp
Friendly staff and recently updated interior. I used to eat here almost weekly when I lived in Atlanta and the buffet was great. Sadly, the buffet has been gone since the pandemic but I still eat here when I am in town.
google avatar

Yelp
I wasn't sure when I first walked in. The interior was dated. However the food was delicious. The hummus was hands down the best hummus I have ever had. I also had kabobs. It was all perfect. I am still being tantalized by looking at these pictures. The staff was on point as well. Very professional and proficient on the menu. I strongly recommend. **It says a lot if I repeat a visit to a restaurant in a place with abundant places to eat. I regularly eat at this place when I am remotely near Sandy Springs.

Yelp
Wow! What a delightful experience!!! A group of us ordered the hummus and Kashmiris-o-bodenjoon. Wooooww so much food and soooo delicious! The hummus 10/10 I ordered the khoresht gheimeh and oh my god!!! The food was sooo flavorful!!! Delicious and tasty!!! Lastly we ordered faloudeh, and the flavor was tart and sweet!!! 10/10 amazingly recommended!!!

Yelp
I have never ever been in a restaurant where the manager/server tells a small group of ladies that we're ordering too much butter as it is very expensive. We come there quite often & frankly this restaurant has lost our business. We live in a 55 & over community & we are telling everyone not to go there any longer. As it was, there was only about 3 other small parties there last night. The food on the menu is expensive & they have gone up quite a bit since covid which I completely understand; however to say that about the butter is entirely rude so they have completely lost our business & a lot of people we know!!

Yelp
Ordered the Fish Kabob and the Napoleon for pickup. The fish kabob meal was plentiful, enough to feed a small family, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the salmon was overcooked and the rice was over buttered, yet bland. The worst part was the Napoleon, though. Their website boasts "daily fresh pastries", while this Napoleon tasted at least 5-6 days old - such a disappointing meal.

Yelp
Sandy Springs seems to be the center of outstanding Persian cuisine. We visited Persepolis for an early dinner recently. Our server was courteous and prompt with our drinks and appetizers (including fresh pita bread) After a short period of time, our meals arrived. The food is always prepared to the perfect temperature and is consistently delicious. I appreciate the Gormeh Sabzi stew and the ground beef shishka bob skewers known as kubideh. All the portions are generous. No one left hungry, and we all had plenty of food leftover for the next day's lunch. We will be returning soon.

Yelp
I'm so sad they no longer have the Persian lunch buffet, but the food is still great. I will always love this place because it has a real traditional Persian homey vibe. Eating here brings me great memories of when my family and I would come when I was much younger. If you're visiting for the first time, make sure to try the kabob sultani. So SO tender and delicious.

Yelp
I stopped in on a Friday evening not knowing much about the place. A friend advised she had never eaten here, but heard it was good. I know, risky business! Upon walking in I loved the vibe. It's a very classic restaurant. The staff was friendly and helps me make a decision. I opted for the salmon kabobs. I placed my to go order and paid for my order at the bar. I was advised that it would take about 15-20 minutes to prepare. As such. I opted to wait outside on the bench at the entrance. I feel like it took them much longer than 20 minutes, but I can't confirm this because I am not certain of what time I placed the order. However, I must say it was worth the wait. The food was fresh, and there was a ton of it! I honestly ate off it for 3 servings! The salmon kabobs came with rice. Roasted veggies, a rendition of a side salad, and the freshest naan! The salmon was cooked to perfection. It was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The veggies were to die for. If you are a big rice eater you will love the amount they serve here. I honestly ended up tossing a large portion of it since I don't eat a ton of rice. I look forward to checking this place out again. Next time I will dine in and get the full experience!

Yelp
There are many Persian places to choose from in Atlanta. What makes this place special is the attentive service and intimate atmosphere. (I love Rumi's too, but it always feels so crowded and loud.) We all enjoyed the food, especially our appetizers- huge quantity of fresh baked flatbread accompanied the eggplant dip and hummus we ordered along with a lovely plate of fresh herbs/feta/nuts. Lamb kabob and chicken barg were delicious, and of course we love the fluffy rice. Recommend the upcharge for the lentil rice. We will be back!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible food and service. I have been to all the Persian restaurants around Atlanta, including Yalda, Persian basket, Noosh , Rumis and this restaurant has by far the worst food and service I have ever went to. The food was very old and oily. It's better to go to Yalda that's five minutes away that has lower or similar prices and way better service and food.
google avatar

Leslie K.

Yelp
We love the food here! The bread is also amazing!!! Nice white tablecloth service. The appetizers are delicious. And the Persian tea is delicious too! We are always satisfied. We normally go for our anniversary and birthdays and anytime we have guests in town to introduce them.

Yelp
1st time here. The food was pretty good. Really just a lot of rice with some chicken on it. The chicken was very good and seasoned well but after eating some rice and the 1 piece of chicken I had no idea what to do with the rest of it. As stated in other reviews. There is an old man in there that greets you but does it sitting down from across the restaurant and does not bother to get up and ask how may I help. The ambiance was nice for where it is located looked very clean. If I was in the area and was absolutely craving Persian food I might stop in again. I was the only one in there at 6:30 on a Thursday night. Felt bad for the waitress who was on her EarPods sitting at a table not making any money at all.

Yelp
Great food excellent service we love all the Kabab's highly recommend.AAA I love the chicken kabobs the best also the bread they make is very delicious

Yelp
Excellent food in an out of the way location. The inside is quite nice with table clothes and good service!

Yelp
My boss took me here. He loves Persian food. I had zero expectations. The food, the wine, and the drinks were so good, I was pleasantly surprised. It was empty considering we went 12pm for lunch, so I'd recommend here for authentic Persian food. I will go back to try another dish. They only thing I didn't like was the baklava. It was can't of dry and nutty, I guess I'm used to Whole Foods baklava's being gooey and sweet. Theirs wasn't that. But everything else was great.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place via Yelp a few months back. The tahdig appetizer piqued my interest the most (I'd never had it), but when I called to place an order midday I was told this dish was only available close to closing. Note: Though it doesn't say so on the menu, Tahdig is only offered towards the end of the night, and can only be served under certain circumstances so it's not commonly available. Fueled even more by the fact I had to wait, I kept this dish in my mind, and called to try and order it at least twice a week for at least a month weeknight dinners. Each time I was told they didn't have the dish that day. Finally, on like my eight time calling, I was informed that the reason it isn't available often, is because there is a delicate balance between perfect and burned at the bottom , and if it is burned then they choose not to sell it as to not turn off customers. Which I understood, and again it fueled my desire for it more. Then finally, one glorious night I called and they had it! I eagerly ordered it for to go/pickup, adding a fish kabob in case the appetizer wasn't able to fill me. The good news is, the appetizer took up a full to go box, so it was more than enough. And the meat/stew was moist and flavorful. The bad is, my understanding of Tahdig was that most of the rice was soft and light, with a thin crispy layer on top--however the plate I received was nothing but a hard layer of tough, chewy rice, not at all softened by the stew. It actually looked like they were cooked separately and the stew topped the crisped rice instead if it all being cooked together like I was led to believe. While flavorful, the rice was so tough to chew that overall the dish was a let down from the months if waiting I ensured to try it. However, the salmon in the fish plate was blackened and flavorful, as were the veggies that came with it. The basmati beneath the fish was much more the consistency I expected the non crispy layer of Tahdig to be, although at that point I was over rice. The plate also came with a humongous piece of pita--bigger that the too and bottom of a to go container. Three stars because of the pent up anticipation and letdown of the Tahdig. BUT because everything else was good, I'll likely try here again for an in person experience where I can ask questions about what the Tahdig should look/taste like, before I order it again.

Yelp
We have been eating at Persepolis for MANY years. Anytime we visit Atlanta, it is our choice for a truly authentic Persian meal! We had a wonderful meal on Sunday and found the quality of the food and service to be as exceptional as always! The dining room and bathrooms were sparkling clean. A Five Star experience!

Yelp
I used to love going to this place. The food is great and so are the people there too. However, my most recent experience has led me to believe otherwise. We went there over the weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. I asked the server to keep a cake for us so he could bring it around towards the end; he told me there's a charge of $15. I was shocked! I asked him if there's a charge If he didn't bring it and I just put the cake on the table; he said the same $15. Then, when I was paying the bill I noticed we were charged twice for a soda. Upon asking him, I was told because I took a few sips of my wife's soda, he charged me twice. The guy said it was policy. I mean how ridiculous was this!? We spent $156 there and he was being petty for $3 worth of soda. I, DEFINITELY, will not return.

Yelp
Pretty good place! We always go to Rumi's for Persian food but decided to try this place out. We ordered the naan, chicken barg, and kubideh kabob. The portions are definitely very big, which was good because the entrees were on the pricey end. The naan was huge! It was pretty good. Next time, I'll have to get hummus or some other dip to go with it. Both of our entrees came, still hot, with plenty of seasoned saffron basmati rice and a grilled tomato. My chicken barg was simply amazing! I was worried it would be over cooked or too dry as I've had some disappointing experiences with chicken kabobs, but this was perfect. It was well seasoned, moist, and not too salty. My bf got the beef kubideh kabob and he thought it was really good as well. He said he prefers the one at Rumi but this was still a great alternative! For him, this one is less seasoned or something. We were happy with our food - the entrees were very filling, and we had plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious meal, nice and quiet atmosphere, and gracious service. This is the kind of place you can actually hear your dinner conversation (instead of having to shout at your dinner companions over loud music)! Started with the sautéed eggplant and a plate of Persian pickles, and almost made our meal out of the flatbread mmmm! Very satisfied with the flavors of our entrees (chicken barg and salmon kabob), and then absolutely loved dessert of pistachio rosewater ice cream and baklava! We will be back!

Yelp
We used to go here at least several times a year if not sometimes monthly years ago. The last time before today was 2 years ago, and wow has it gone downhill since then!! Shocking. We eat at all the Persian restaurants around Atlanta throughout the year and the rice being served at Persepolis now is not fragrant and not at all proper rice. it tastes and looks and smells like pre-cooked and bagged rice. Very spongy texture, no aromatic of Basmati, and we did bring this to their attention to make sure we didn't just come on an off day when they had to use such awful rice. No she said this is their rice now and that others have said it's different than when the old owners were there a few years back. The shrimp was also spongy and barely grilled and tasted more of turmeric and dye than real saffron and the flavors they used to have and the flavors all the other PersIan restaurants have. Our 3 entrees were lackluster and the worst Persian food we've ever had over the past 30 years of eating Persian regularly throughout the years at several other places such as Zafron, Rumi's various locations and Sufi's downtown. Our favorite was Mirage that closed down years ago sadly. We eat Persian in other cities when we travel and homemade Persian dishes from friends. So we're very familiar with the dishes we order frequently. Truly all these other Persian restaurants are good and worth visiting. Each has their own flair to some dishes but all are tasty and fresh and busy and delicious. Persepolis is no longer one we will bother to return. Their bread is pretty much the same as it always was and it was good. Everything else was poorly and/or cheaply, quickly and blandly prepared. No wonder there is rarely more than 1 other table seated in recent years. If you know Persian food you will not want to waste your time and money at Persepolis. We have many Persian friends and they agree that today's Persepolis is not the restaurant it was 20 years ago, 10 years ago or even 2 years ago. Prices have increased and quality has drastically plummeted to just slightly better than inedible. We couldn't believe the difference. Seriously their rice is off-putting and has the flavor of the vacuum packed pre-cooked rice that is far too plump and spongy with zero aromatics. They are cutting costs too much and quality is unacceptable.

Yelp
Persepolis is the OG Persian restaurant in the Atlanta area and it's still a classic. I have been here countless times for family gatherings, date nights, etc. The restaurant is spacious and perfect for large groups and family events. The food is absolutely delicious! Very well marinated meats, fresh vegetables, and savory sauces. Service is very good and accommodating. They also have amazing belly dancers performing on Friday and Saturday nights.
google avatar

Chad J.

Yelp
Fast and very friendly service. The food is delicious with generous portions. The fish kabob (usually or maybe always salmon) is delicious. It has a nice char that gives it incredible flavor. The chicken kabobs are always a favorite too. The location doesn't jump out at you so be sure not to miss it on Roswell Rd. It will definitely be worth your visit.

Yelp
They overcharged and slapped on a mandatory tip. Old worn tired out atmosphere, Food is nothing to write home about. Very overpriced.
google avatar

Yelp
What you need to know: Solid kabobs but an OVERLOAD of rice. Dolmeh is way too sweet - overbearingly so. After watching a show about Persian food, we had a craving, so ordered via UberEats. Food: We ordered the Kubideh Kabob, the Lamb Kabob, and an order of Dolmeh. The kubideh kabob was just ok. It satisfies a craving, but was under seasoned for me. The lamb kabob however was HEAVEN! The lamb was extremely juicy, flavorful, and very very tender. The drawback from both of these is they came with about 3lbs worth of rice and one grilled tomato. Now the tomato was great, but the rice was just a waste. I love saffron rice as much as the next person, but I'd gladly sacrifice most of the rice they give for a better side dish like a salad that would give a different flavor and component to the dish. The dolmeh was way too sweet - almost like candy. Not what I expected and would not recommend. Price: Paid $73 for two kabob plates and the dolmeh. Extremely overpriced for what you get. Overall, the kabobs were solid but wayyyy overpriced. The kubideh was under seasoned, but the lamb kabobs were absolutely DIVINE. Probably won't order from here again due to price, but it's solid. Would gladly sacrifice 2/3rd's of the rice for a different side to make the plate more diverse.

Yelp
Tahdig is gross, is that what it is suppose to taste like? I ordered lamb but was served a thigh meat that looks like turkey(picture is missing). Will never come back for dinner. I will wait for buffet to come back and try that, maybe my review will change.
google avatar

Chloe B.

Yelp
We were confused as to why we were overcharged for about $16. I just read another person's review and learned that the restaurant not only taxes 10%, but they also charge an additional 18% service fee. I have never seen or heard of any other restaurants doing that. It is a straight up scam. I love Persian food, but their's is just mediocre. Think twice before dining in or ordering takeout from them, unless you don't mind paying an additional 28% of your bill which doesn't even include tip!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
We arrived on time for our reservation and our table was waiting for us. The kashkobadamjun (eggplant appetizer) is served with fresh herbs and is delicious. You can't go wrong with the kabobs and the tadik (crispy rice).
google avatar

Sam J.

Yelp
I quite enjoyed the food here. Went on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only customers dining in. A couple of customers came to pick up orders during the time we were eating. When we arrived they were cleaning up the buffet area. It seems like they have buffet hours and prices that end at a certain time. It is a nicely set up restaurant on the inside, nice decor, spacious and the food was tasty and had great portion sizes. Private parking lot and the restaurant itself can be a little easy to miss because of the location. Once you turn in you have to go to the end of the parking lot and the entrance is there as well. It has and seems like a family owned restaurant.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Terrible service. Definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm sure there is better SERVICE and food somewhere else. I guess they only have one or 2 servers but I seen this lady take 3 different orders, get on her phone (while coughing),put her hands in her mouth, bring food out, take a customer order over the phone then turn around and greet guests . And not once did I see her wash her hands pull out hand sanitizer or anything . That's definitely not safe. Plus the attitude.I didn't want to order. I left immediately.

Yelp
Pretty much my go to Persian place. Never needed a reservation. Food is consistently good. Not as pretty as some other places, but the food is what brings me back.

Massoud M.

Yelp
They automatically add a 18% tip and call it svc. Check. Then they treat it as a purchase and tax you another 10% tax on your tip. They say we don't have "tahdig" a very popular appetizer,, so you order another one , but as soon as you take a bit out of your second choice appetizer,, They come and say, now we have "tahdig" available, do you want it now. Tahdig takes a long time to prepare, how could it be not available a minute and then 4 minute later be ready??? Scam,, to sell unwanted secondary appetizers and bump the check up. Ashame!!! Otherwise the food was good, wait staff was great.

Yelp
My buddy and I were chatting about the Persian food scene and he recommended Persepolis and one other place. But, he did pinpoint this place a goto if I wanted to try a variety of things since they have a buffet. Anyways, made my pilgrimage and checked it out. As promised, they have a buffet. A couple options on the rice. 3 different choices of meat. A couple of bean based dishes. A vegetarian bar with boiled eggs, salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. they also have a hot tomato dish. I tried all of the meats, both rice, the hot tomatoe dish, and the bread they brought to the table. Not bad, not bad at all. Darn right good. I really LOVED the steak(?) and the other meat. The chicken was not my favorite. I loaded up on the other meat but only got the chicken once. Their hot tomato dish was pretty good too. The saffron rice was delicious. But man...the meat. So good. The dessert wasn't all that. Underwhelming. Grapes were good tho. Nice, fat, and juicy. Ok end to an otherwise good meal. What bothered me, however, was that I don't feel like the price reflected what I got. As of March 10, 2018, the weekend buffet was $21 and change after(or before) tax. Steep. All in all, If you can spare the dimes, give it a try. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth checking out.

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
The meat was perfect...marinated and flavorful. My server was really friendly and helpful. The ambiance was elegant and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I am not sure why all the good reviews. The service is very good. However, the food is not. It is very bland with zero home country taste or even an American creativeness - there is no spice, not even salt hahaha. I had lamb and rice - both completely unremarkable. I cannot imagine why anyone would like this food - can make this much better at home and I am not a good cook.

Yelp
I haven't been to Rumis myself, but according to my coworkers, this place is good but Rumis is better. We went for lunch buffet around 12p on a Friday with a group of 12. They were able to accommodate us easily and we were practically the first ones so the buffet was well-stacked. The food was good, but expensive for lunch. Lunch buffet is $16 + tip so excited to spend $20 on lunch with tip and tax. Ouch. I was with coworkers so I didn't want to take too many pictures but I did snag one of the food on my plate. They have a cold side and a hot side and a few desserts in a case between the two. At least I think they were desserts. Nothing is labeled so I have no idea. They'll tell you what each item is but I didn't want to ask for all of them, just a few. Cold side had vegetarian dolmas, hummus, baba ghanoush(so), spinach dip, cucumber dip, salad, some kind of herb, tomatoes.. Hot side had VERY lemon chicken, white rice, rice with some kind of herb in it, kofta (looks like kofta), another beef, 2 stews.. They bring fresh bread to the table to dip In the sauces, also. It's small yet everyone has space inside. Overall, it's good. Worth trying if you've never been but at the price, I'm not sure how often id go back.

Yelp
We went there yesterday for Valentine's Day. We are loyal customers, and we go to Perspolise all the time. When the server brought our food, she realized that she had made a mistake on one of the orders. She brought me Kabob instead of Ghormeh Sabzi. She told us we could have it, and she would not charge us because it would be thrown in the trashcan. She brought us the correct food within a few minutes. When my husband and I got home, we discovered she had charged us for both Kabobs and Ghoemeh Sabzi. She charged us for the food we did not order.

Yelp
Saturday 04/13/19 on the way to see the Mets vs Braves at Suntrust , 6 of us work colleagues thought of eating first before we head to the stadium . This place was just picked out of the blue , located about 2 miles from I-285. It's beyond the street , surrounded by other small stores . We arrived 5pm with no one around . We were worried coz what can I say , it's 3 hours from home and just picked out of the blue. I Ordered Barg Kabob and the rest different stuff . Then came the wonderful bread with feta cheese , mint , and nuts . Lo and behold , we found ourselves enjoying this bread, sorta like the Indian bread . My order was a charbroiled marinated tenderloin with basmati rice and roasted tomato . Wow ! So tender and tasty . Everyone enjoyed their food . As we were leaving , other customers were coming in . A great find in Sandy Springs GA and not that far from the Interstate . I'm not sure I'm coming back here(3 hour drive ) but highly recommended if you're in the area . Enjoy the photos .

Yelp
Best authentic Persian restaurant!!! Growing up in Alabama, the only Persian food we had was at home by my Iranian father or at the one restaurant that opened in my teenage years. This restaurant is the taste and feel of home. The food is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The kabobs melt in your mouth. Best of all, the staff treats you as family. They have always encouraged my friends who aren't Persian to try new things with the comment they would replace the items if they didn't love it. Every time, the friends end up loving the food and experience. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. If you don't know what to order, don't guess. Ask for suggestions and trust the staff. They know what is the best items. Favorite menu item: Chicken Barg, Barberry Rice and ice cream for dessert

Yelp
My family had a reservation Saturday night and waited for 20 minutes to be seated after making eye contact with multiple servers. This restaurant is very sketchy and is serving a "niche" community and not the general public who make reservations on open table for good food. Don't make this your only dinner reservation. Lesson learned.

Yelp
I wish their location was closer to where I live as i would be there a few times a month. The freshly baked bread is a great starter. The appetizers are fantastic and the Kabobs are out of this world. It does not get much better than this. You will love it.

Yelp
I was here many years ago and it either changed buildings or owners. Not the same as I remember. This was probably the most unexpired meal I ever had. The place was very nice inside. We ordered grape leaves for appetizer. I asked if they had meat but when we got them the looked like they were Mike's and no meat. Too much pomegranate inside the stuffing and no meat. The bread they served was delicious. It comes with a plate of herbs and I think feta cheese and walnuts. I ordered chicken kabob and my husband Sultan dish. My son ordered the shrimp kebab. My dish comes with one skewer basically , rice and a tomato. The meat was good and tender however, the rest of the plate was just to fill it up the space . They give you 1/2 the plate of rice. Who can eat that much rice? So dry. You don't get a salad before you plate. I didn't find the rice tasty like authentic Persian rice. And no yogurt with it. Again So dry, They give you a giant grilled tomato. I could eat the giant tomato. Basically

Yelp
For me the trio of Persian restaurants at Atlanta are Rumis kitchen, Sufis and Persepolis. Having tried out the first two on previous occasions, I and my wife decided to go here for our marriage anniversary dinner. The place is located on the inner portion of the parking lot and the place in front is an Arabian market. We visited there on a Monday evening and it was sparsely populated with a couple of other tables being full. They have an affordable list of beverages and both our white and red wines were served quite fast. We really liked the choice of alcohol that we made and I appreciate the suggestions made to us by our waitress. For appetizers we ordered Kashk-o bodenjoon, a sauteed eggplant based plate and Dolmeh, a ground beef delicacy. The bodenjoon was delicious and the naan bread that came with it was a perfect match. The Dolmeh was good as well but the grape leaves that are usually used to wrap a Dolmeh are easy to cut with a knife, I faced a little resistance here that may depend on the quality of the grape leaves and the manner in which the beef was wrapped. However, the ground beef was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious and exquisite. For our entrées we ordered the Joojeh Kabob and the Barreh Kabob. The Joojeh are little pieces of chicken (with bone), seasoned with saffron sauce that gives it an exotic and tangy taste that goes very well with the basmati rice. The Barreh are skewered boneless lamb pieces cooked on open fire to perfection. I ordered medium to well done and it was cooked perfectly, just as I wanted. This was really a dinner to remember. We both were very satisfied with the entire dining experience.

Yelp
Our friends wanted to take us to Rumi's Kitchen, but OMG, the wait was unbelievable. I was so ready to try it...but we decided to try Persepolis per another guest that was waiting, too. So we hoped in the car and drove a block and a half down to Persepolis and we're glad we did! No waiting, server was great, food was delicious, entertainment was good...we left there pleased and full. The bread!!! It was so delicious and hot, we ordered humus as an appetizer and on the bread...Mmmmm. We ordered the Chicken Barg, Fish Kabob, Charbroiled Vegetable Kabobs, and some pomegranate dish. Everything was delicious and we will be back for another visit during the buffet time.
