"On the top floor of an otherwise average-looking building is the Persian Peacock, a carefully guarded secret among locals. The stars of the menu are undoubtedly the lamb tah-chin (an upside-down lamb and rice casserole) and lamb kebabs that are so juicy you’ll run out of napkins before you do food. This spot is family-run and feels like scoring an invite to your friend’s house whose parents are way better cooks than yours." - bri cave

I cannot believe I’ve never eaten here before! The food was absolutely delicious - hearty portions, a combination of many flavours and the owners were very friendly. You can tell the food was prepared with love and felt authentically Iranian. Slu assisted our table and gave great recommendations and service. Highlights were the lamb tahchin, the huge assorted meats platter as well as the baklava. All meals were perfect for sharing. Will definitely be going back and telling all my friends and family about it!

Really great experience! My first time trying Iranian food; we did starters, mains and dessert and everything was fantastic! Friendly staff and owners and delicious food. My only note is that the outside seating could have softer lighting. I will most definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

Omg from the starter, to the mains, to the desert. Everything was just cooked to perfection. The rice was definitely my favourite. The beef fillet kebab was also so soft and flavourful. Everything was actually my favourite lol. I could not stop eating. The hot chocolate is definitely a must have too. The place is very small and intimate. Perfect for date night

Persian Peacock offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and warm, welcoming service. The cozy and colourful dining room adds to the charm, and it's BYOB, which is a great plus. We particularly loved the tachin, which was our favorite dish. The salad dressing was a bit too acidic for our preference, but overall, it didn't detract from an otherwise fantastic meal. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Persian cuisine!

Persian Peacock was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience for me and my family. The owners are great and made us feel very welcome. We had the Hummus Umami as a starter and the Sultanj Kebab for a main along with Lamb Chops. And the lamb tachin to top it off. The staff were amazing and friendly and the pricing was on point. Can highly recommend this awesome authentic Persian restaurant in Vredehoek, Cape Town.

Above a small spaza shop is this super quaint restaurant. Two flights of stairs up and you enter what feels like a family lounge restaurant with lovely decor. The food was excellent and we enjoyed a tasting dip plate and the lamb. Note- it's BYOB.

Incredibly delicious food 😋 my wife and I were looking for a special night out and tried Persian food for the first time. The Joojeh kebab was wonderfully succulent and flavourful. The saffron tea is refreshing and the saffron ice cream is the perfect conclusion to the meal. The hosts were incredibly warm and hospitable, and the atmosphere and vibe are great.
