I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so we finally made a reservation to celebrate my birthday. The ambience was lovely, with a Mediterranean vibe that we really enjoyed.
We began our meal by sharing the Grilled Oysters and Autumn Salad. Unfortunately, the oysters were underwhelming--they were extremely small. However, the salad was light and refreshing.
For our entrées, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and my boyfriend had the Local Prime Ribeye. My sea bass was absolutely perfect--fresh, moist, and cooked to perfection.
For dessert, we opted for the Butter Cake and the Lemon Ricotta Cake. Both were a big disappointment. The butter cake was dry and overbaked, though the ice cream helped make it somewhat edible. The lemon ricotta cake was also dry. At $18 and $15 respectively, these desserts were overpriced for how little they were and underwhelming. When I think of butter cake, I think of places like Eddie V's, Dominick's, or Maestro's. It was also a letdown that they didn't even comp one of the desserts for my birthday celebration.
Would we return? Probably, but only for the entrées. The entire meal, including two drinks, cost over $200. For that price, I expect a "wow" experience, and unfortunately, this restaurant didn't quite deliver.
