Food – Extremely fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Staff – Warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Service – Absolutely top-notch. Atmosphere – Lovely and inviting. This restaurant is truly one of the best in Herakleio. It offers a wonderful taste of traditional cuisine with a modern twist. An absolute must-try!

An incredible experience. the knowledge of all the waiters and the pride they show in their food really shows. All food was delicious and so well presented. The price was very reasonable for the experience and atmosphere. we were stuffed by the time we left and enjoyed every bite. if we had more time we’d definitely come back. i would definitely say though a booking is required.

We loved everything! It was the best restaurant experience we had in Crete. Great verity of local dishes, with special culinary twist. On busy summer times you must reserve a table. The strawberry cheesecake was dreamy. Its an open area so no air conditioning but we had a fan close to us and it was great.

We finally got here after several attempts and it definitely lives up to its reputation. The taverna is very charming and is a menagerie of rooms clumped together, some open air. Oozing with charm and quite atnospheric with quality products and efficient service. The food is mostly traditional with a modern spin on a few things. The snails are excellent and really very good value given the big serve. We really expected to pay more a roast the board given the standard of the food.

The setting was beautiful and full of charm, and the staff were incredibly friendly, even offering complimentary raki and a traditional dessert – a really nice touch. Starters were good, but the main courses were disappointing: huge portions, yet the meat lacked flavor. Their concept of modernizing Cretan classics is interesting, but the execution needs improvement. Service, however, was absolutely top-notch!

This was our favourite meal during our time in Crete. The mixed mushrooms were fantastic, as well as the honey and thyme pork. My partner also really loved the lamb risotto dish. While there, we were given a complimentary starter and dessert both of which were delicious. Their farm to table concept is really well done and the flavours they have put together standout.

What a beautiful evening we had a Peskesi! The food was amazing, you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and their high quality. What we also appreciated was the staff, they were all very kind and informative. We also had a complementary starter dip with beetroot and olive oil, and a complimentary dessert with semolina. Another note that I would like to stress, is that at every restaurant (except just another one) during our stay in Crete, we were rushed the whole time, starters and mains arriving at the same time to make us finish as soon as possible. Here at Peskesi the service was perfect, we were not rushed at all, we could relax and enjoy our dinner and this experience. Dining at Peskesi truly is en experience, and we will definitely come back here when in Crete. Thank you so much for your beautiful welcome, and your genuine food!

Really good traditional food and great service. We had some Cretan traditional plates. Besides the excellent food, we got a good raki and sweets from the house. I also bought a couple of olive oil cans from this restaurant. The oil is excellent and you can get some good suggestions from the restaurant’s employees.
