Finding the right words to describe our dinner at Peskesi is not easy. From the first bite to the last, every dish was a journey through the authentic flavors of Cretan tradition, enhanced by high-quality ingredients and impeccable preparation. We tried several specialties, and each one left us speechless: the meat was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, and the traditional dishes were reinvented with elegance and a perfect balance of taste. The presentation was spectacular—each plate looked like a work of art—but what truly amazed us was the flavor: intense, genuine, and unforgettable. The service was impeccable, with a friendly and attentive staff who were always ready to recommend dishes and share the stories behind them. The restaurant’s atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and meticulously designed, making it the perfect setting for a special evening. If you’re looking for a truly authentic gastronomic experience, one that goes beyond just dining out and becomes a journey into Cretan flavors and culture, Peskesi is the place to be. We were 100% satisfied and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

I don’t often rate 5 stars but this restaurant deserves it. The Ethos of the restaurant from the farm to table concept, as well as the philosophy of the full circle to take account of wastage back to the land is to be complimented. Food is superb both in terms of the quality of the individual ingredients and how they combine, flavours and balance their dishes. Everything I ate was delicious. Waiters are friendly and efficient. Restaurant ambience is lovely. We want to come back, very soon.

This restaurant also came highly recommended by our guide and taxi driver. They promised authentic Greek food and ensured us this is where they take friends who visit Crete. Still wrestling with the grips of jet lag, we were delighted to find out the restaurant was open late and set out for dinner close to 11pm. After walking into the romantically lit atmosphere, we were greeted by a wave of a smoky, herbaceous aroma that piqued my olfactory senses as well as my curiosity. I later found out it was the smell of sage from their signature pork chop dish, which comes to your table shielded by a layer of parchment paper. I was not expecting the server to reveal an individual meat smoker at the table. The four porkchops dangled tantalizingly above the fluffy pieces of pita and their varied accompanying spreads, conveniently placed to absorb any escaping juices. This dish provided a feast for all the senses: the smoky aroma from the grilled meat perfumed by the sage, the tenderness of the meat, the grill marks and the unique display made for one of the most special dining experiences of my life. I was especially impressed by how the meat truly was the star of the dish: yes, the interactive, primal presentation is special, but the meat was expertly seasoned and grilled. Everything that was there was supposed to be there; nothing more, nothing less. This was a common thread I found amongst many meals I had in Greece: executing dishes well with no pretense or frills shows true mastery and understanding of good food.

Everything about this place is authentic and beautiful. The rating is well-deserved. I love their circular economy with everything fresh from the farm and no waste. Get the olive oil tasting with their delectable bread. Best feta with truffle I’ve had in my life! Everything else was delicious too, the service on point. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.

One of the kind. Top-notch level restaurant that actually tells the story. I really enjoyed my time in this place and food obviously. I was positively surprised by the dessert. The salad was different from what I’ve tasted before, mix of sweetness, bitterness and dryness, very fresh ingredients.

A great restaurant with exquisite tastes, both traditional and with a touch of modern cuisine. Taste wise was great, service was friendly and helpful, always available to explain the dishes, a lovely experience whatsoever. Pricing could be better, but regarding the dishes we were offered, I couldn't complain.

If somebody's curious about how the food was tasting in Crete some hundred years ago, this restaurant is the right place to visit. The chefs included in menu historical Cretan recipes from the Ottoman era or even older. They even cook a dish based on a vegetable which is no longer cultivated in the island (a forgotten legume). Apparently, it used to be popular in Crete before the beans arrived in Europe from Americas. However, the first step is to book a table, which is not a simple mission, especially over the weekend. We have called four days in advance to make a reservation and only got a table from 22:00! When left the restaurant it was almost midnight and all the tables were still occupied. The smell of Mediterranean spices, burned on charcoal, welcome the visitors from the entrance. We tasted many dishes and here is the top three: Cretan salad (prepared from vegetables collected from restaurant's farm, single estate extra virgin olive oil and a cheese to die for), baked mushrooms (finger licking, literally). The king of the dinner was the lamb in yogurt crust - a striking taste which I'm not going to forget anytime soon. The wine was perfect and the location is really exquisite.

Fantastic local cuisine, very friendly service, extremely high quality. Had several starters (prawns, feta, cheese rolls, salad...) to get a variety. Loved it. Wanted to return today & try main courses but Lufthansa rebooked us 8 hours earlier and stole complete day. Will definitely return to try goat, lamb & pork specialities. @ owner sorry for missed 1300 reservation today, we'll return & drink ouzo together 😎👍
