Yelp
This review is for the experience that I just had. I haven't been since pre-COVID, but I think it's important to talk about this particular experience.
First off, people love this place! It was seriously busy and the hostesses were kind enough to find us a table when it was packed ... at like 520pm. Wow!
The service was very good. The people were very nice.
Our issue was the food. It was pretty bleh.
We started with the bacon-wrapped dates. My wife liked them. I felt that the blue cheese completely overpowered the dates. To be fair, I'm not a blue-cheese LOVER, so if you are, then maybe these will be great for you. For a blue-cheese liker, such as myself, best to pass.
My wife ordered the beet salad. Photo included. It was, in actuality, a kale salad with some beets. And, it was a bit bitter. The flavors could stand to be more balanced. The candied walnuts were likely there to balance things out, but they weren't very sweet so the flavors were pretty unbalanced. My wife picked around the kale and ate the rest.
I ordered the chicken saltimbocca. Fettuccini noodles, chicken stuffed with prosciutto, in a creamy brown sauce. Surprisingly meh. And, as you may know from other posts, I don't add salt to anything, except eggs and potatoes, so it wasn't a "this guy needs a lot of salt" thing. It was pasta with a relatively unflavored chicken and sauce, which had some flavor but, overall, nothing that I would want again.
I would still encourage you to go and try out this neighborhood restaurant. I know that we'll be back ... but, to try something else.
