Petworth Cigars

Sitting on a plane hundreds of miles away I decided that I wanted to spoke at the coolest lounge near the airport. I chose this one and a good choice it was! Helpful staff, friendly patrons, and an easy to find location. I took the train from DCA here. The entrance is on 9th.

This was my first birthday in DC as I recently moved here from Detroit. I felt like I was back at home. You guys made my wife and I so comfortable. You have new regulars in us. #CigarsAndConversation

Can’t believe I’m so late sharing this. Especially considering how I was last there in August 2022. But I liked the vibe here so much and am looking forward to returning this weekend. Shoutout to GERI. Real Auntie type energy from her. Respect.

Ok I’ll go head and correct the record on here, I only been to this shop 2 times but both times it was chill , clean, well ventilated and the back door was open so no clue what some of these comments are talking about. What I can say is the positive vibes were great but not inviting as much as other spots that I have been to with people are closely net. Give hugs when they greet in Black people just vibe. This spot is more chill with that DC attitude to it and you know how DC people are DC Black people can be friendly but they not all that friendly so it’s like I had to take one star off for that but other than that I will come back to this joint, it’s OK. Me and my wife was more worried about getting jacked by locals while leaving the car to walk to the joint because the parking is like across the street from it

Nice lil spot in DC. Black owned. My wife knows every place I travel to I make it my business to find a cigar lounge to experience and this place was fantastic. Truly enjoyed the experience and the staff is very nice. Check them out when you're in town.

Great spot to take a break and enjoy a nice cigar. Love the selection and the easy going vibe of the place. Pro tip: order honeymoon chicken if you're hungry and bring it open.

Black woman owned, no frills cigar lounge in Petworth offering affordable cigars and drinks. The owner and staff are super friendly and you feel like family as soon as you walk in. If they had a larger liquor selection, I'd bump my review up to five stars.

I honestly love it here. The staff is always super nice. Geri, is one of the best hostesses/bartenders/server I've ever had. I always enjoy my experience when I come through. Football Sunday's are the best as well. If you are a Washington Football Team Fan or fan of NFL in general, this is the place for you. Good vibes always, trash talking, good sticks, and the drinks are not watered down. I love it here.

Hole in the wall cigar bar. Enter from the back alley. Disappointed that I was told their was a minimum of 1 cigar purchase. However, they were out of my cigars. Many others came in and were not told about that minimum cigar purchase. Not sure why I was discriminated? Drinks were good.

This is one great BLACK OWNED establishment. I stepped into this spot with a few friends and was welcomed by great customer services. They provided us with the COVID regulations to abide by in order to enjoy the experience. We were told that we must purchase a cigar in order to enjoy this establishment, which was totally fine because they had mild cigars for those who are inexperienced. They provided us with instructions on lighting the cigars which was also a plus since this was our first time at such establishment. Please give this place a visit if you are in the area.

Woot woot, ring the alarm it's a new Sheriff in town! It's called Petworth Cigars and you will be locked into the scene the moment you arrive. The ambiance of the jazz as you walk in makes you feel like you have arrived into a scene from casablanca. Grown and sexy is the vibe. I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening event and the owners were so friendly, attentive and welcoming. Their priority was to make sure everyone was comfortable yet also following social distancing rules during this pandemic. The staff is amazing especially Geri. I have to say hats off to Dyane & Chris( The Queen shall always be named 1st) for still moving forward with their vision during such uncertain times. This will be a jewel for years to come. After such a wonderful 1st experience and meeting new smoking buddies, I raved about it to my friends and have been back on several occasions. Without fail the experience just keeps getting better. There is an outside patio area if you are daring enough to tangle with the mighty cold. Or if you are just wimpy you can enjoy a stick in the comfy lounge area and fall deep into the leather seats with each puff of your stick. Ahhhh choices choices. Lol. I even stopped by for a night cap for Turkey day and to my surprise they had a FREE Thanksgiving meal set up to feed their patrons. How classy is that? Eat your heart out other cigar bars you now have a new serious competitor* cue in Rocky Music*. Lol. But in all honesty I've seen lots of other cigar shop owners and managers come in to support the establishment. Hmmmm are they supporting or really spying & doing intel(eyebrow raise) hahaha. Just kiddin. Either way I'm glad there is a Black Owned Cigar shop I can frequent but they will drain the dollars out of my BFSA(Bank For Shoe Addiction) account! So what are you waiting for? Get in an uber, lyft or in your car and COME ON DOOOOOOWWNNN! This Cigar Bar is #BarbieApproved

This place is Awesome from the owner to the staff to the patrons everyone was so friendly and inviting i was visiting from our of town and wandered in and was immediately welcomed in. Met some solid people so this has become one of my favorite places to smoke. It's definitely a whole VIBE!

Been coming here for about 3yrs or so and they never let me down. The vibe is amazing and the drinks are Great. The staff are the friendliest ever

I had a weird request and they didn't even blink. Helped me find what I needed and were very pleasant. There were some folks hanging out smoking cigars and they were also cool.

Soooooo not the classiest, not the cleanest, not the best, but just enough. Found this spot on accident after going to 1865. Definitely a local establishment frequented by their usual patrons. The staff was very friendly. Small quaint place, a little hood, but cool enough to have a smoke in. Only complaint was the smoke. The ventilation absolutely sucks. Opening the door helped but it was pretty bad. Probably won't visit again, but it was a cool spot.

If you are a cigar smoker, this is your place ! Ever since my beloved lounge in Chevy chase closed I've been without good smoking home. This place is perfect. Off a main DC road, leather seats, nice bar, friendly staff, and great cigar selection. Come have a smoke and drink with a great group of people or just yourself and your headphones.

No food but there are a few good spot around . Petworth has became a weekly spot for me because of the amazing service and proximity of it to my home . The ambiance gives me flashbacks of spending time in uptown in the late 90's early 2000's. I see myself staying a customer there for a long time

Great customer service and friendly environment. Bill helped me select a cigar and suggested Sagamore to drink. We sat outside and socialize with the other guest. I learned so much about cigars in this relaxing environment. Such a great move to make on this beautiful day.

First of all...I graduated from Howard in '92 and at that time we didn't dare hang out on Georgia Ave! So to find a spot like this was initially unbelievable, but eventually phenomenal. Petworth is a chill spot, great service and some real grown man conversations! With many visits to DC in my future comes naturally many planned visits to this spot. #grownmancigarspot

Nice little cozy lounge in Petworth! Great cigar selection and excellent, friendly service. The interior is adorned with lush couches, big TVs, and a nice humidor. We met the owner and he was very approachable and friendly. My only issue is the cost of booze ($15 for a Four Roses)!!

Great laid back cigar bar went on Friday night and it was definitely not as congested as some other spots great staff very attentive will be back

Fantastic cigar selection! A nice and chill vibe and great service. A friend of mine visited initially and brought me about 3 cigars based on my preferences and recommended by the Owner. I then returned myself and was greeted and tended to by the Sister of the Owner who is so pleasant and sweet. They had each cigar I was looking for and I was taken care of promptly. Had I not had plans I would've stuck around and posted up on the patio. I look forward to returning soon.

My home away from home. This place is 10 min from my house and I come here 3-5 days a week. Why? Because of the atmosphere. The staff make you feel as if you're in their home and make you comfortable. Six TVs showing all the sports. Drinks to keep you happy. And a selection to die for. I had been looking for then the Opus X lost city. Sold out everywhere. Online and at every shop. But guess what. Petworth had a fresh box. I got two! This is a great place to relax and unwind. From the relaxed crowd. To the jazz playing in the background. You cannot go wrong at Petworth Cigars.

I first visited Petworth Cigars after meeting one of the owners at Honeymoon Chicken next door a month ago. I really recommend this lounge given its excellent assortment of cigars and whisky selection. I'm a big fan of this lounge because it's black-owned and the layout is ideal for kicking back and taking a load off to enjoy a few sticks. I live around the corner and I look forward to patronizing this business whenever possible. I tell my friends about this place because the staff is friendly and I know they'll have a great experience whenever they visit.

The vibe is friendly and like family. The cigar knowledge is wise! The owners are relaxed friendly and helpful!

Nice lounge and good cigar selection. My only complaint is total lack of ventilation. My eyes were burning the entire time I was there and there were only a few other people. I won't be back unless they do something about the ventilation.

Had a great time at Petworth Cigars! Such great atmosphere and really nice folks. I could hang out alone and feel comfortable. Cigar selection and prices very reasonable and the bar drinks were so appreciated by the birthday man!
