Excellent dirty martini and cocktail my friend ordered. They had band playing when I went which was excellent. We had take out order of wings which were delicious. Bartender was friendly and made drinks as per our request. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in neighborhood.

Great high quality cocktails in the reading room towards the back! It's worth checking social media to see if they have a book theme going for their cocktails (happens on weekends sometimes). Very friendly staff! Plenty of books to pick up and read while enjoying a drink.

The bartender is such a sweet guy. He made me a very delicious special drink and he was nice to talk to. Also, the reading room was a nice experience. I thought the interior design of the small room was unique and fun. I found it easy to chill, unwind, and let my creative juices flow here. Overall a nice, small space to have a drink, read, and/or socialize.

A very cool watering hole with that lovely DC dive-bar charm, this place has a lot of character and more importantly, a happy hour drink and appetizers/small-to-medium bites menu that is fitting this Petworth haunt. If you're there at the happy, try the special punch for the week - it is a great start (and has a nice kick, so be careful!) to many interesting cocktail options. I nibbled on the Pork Sliders and BBQ wings, both of which were very good! The prices were totally reasonable, too. There is a cozy library-lounge back room that seemed to be the hot spot when I was there on a generally non-eventful Wednesday evening. It filled up quickly, likely with those who are "in the know" of the spot. The bartenders were extremely nice and always around with great service. This is definitely a place I would check out again.

The Citizen has been a great addition to the neighborhood. Draft beer selection is a little limited and u hear the cocktails are good but I've not had any of them. The food is really good and though it appears like bar food when you read it on the menu, it's far better than what you might expect. The mini tacos are amazing and refreshing and a great bargain. (happy hour special I think?) The decor and environment is super cozy and they've always been good to families like ours with kids too. We love going early on Saturdays after they open at 4 or 430 (I forget which time) when it's a little emptier.

This is an awesome local bar. The food and drink specials are good. Lots of options for meat eaters, limited vegetarian options. Also, they pick their beers well but typically have 4 different beers on draft. What they don't have in variety, they make up for in ambiance. This is a fun, cozy bar. The punch of the day is usually great. I can also vouch for the fried chicken dinner, its well above average. I only did not give 5 stars for lack of vegetarian options, there's just a few things and one entree, would love to see (and eat) more veggies. All food is very tasty and high quality.

Nice bar with a pleasant atmosphere. It has some nice specialty cocktails, some local beers, and food as well. They also have a happy hour. Not sure how the daily punch varies, but when I had it, it we as a pretty good drink. It can get a bit loud sometimes. Overall, a nice place to relax.

On most Friday and Saturday nights the bar creates a large menu of craft cocktails based on the chapters or sections of a current reading selection in the Loyalty Book Store out front. They have wonderful food ranging from vegetarian options to bacon on cheese fries (yum). But they get 6 Stars for creativity and the love of books. If you are a book nerd, it's a highly recommended stop. If you go, take a book from their lending library where your cocktails are served and bring one of your own back someday soon. See you over cocktails in Reading Room!
