Phat Daddy's on Da Tracks

We are here passing through and stopped based on reviews. They were a little short staffed and out of quite a few options, but the food we did get was very good. I would definitely give them a second shot next time we pass through town.

Walked in the door, and the first 4 things I noticed were, eye popping color, cleanliness, warmth, and someone calling out, "Welcome to Phat Daddy's." So, the color, not sure if everyone would care for it, but I found the bright colors to be cheerful and welcoming, loved it! Cleanliness smelled clean. Looked clean and no sticky residues on the table, seats or menus-was CLEAN. That is a huge plus in my book. Warm, not sure if the air conditioner wasn't working, but it was it was warm in the building, but not uncomfortable as they had ceiling fans going and we sat near one and we were comfortable. I just mentioned it because that was a first impression. Friendly welcome from Hannah, and her energetic , outgoing personality made us feel welcome and appreciated. She got us situated and asked if we had ever been (no), ten proceeded to explain the specials, told us what they had for drinks and asked if we would like to try the Phat Daddy's splash? Yes! Please! Apparently, it is a drink with juice, ice tea, and lemonade, if I remember correctly, was awesome! While she got the drinks we decided what we wanted to eat and when she returned we ordered. We had the Mac and cheese wrap, 1 with chicken and the other pork with fries and the chopped cheese sandwich with fries. It took a little time, and when everything came out, it was fresh, hot, and super delicious. We gorged ourselves, which was kind of sad, because Hannah let us know from the beginning that she had 6 layer chocolate cake, carrot cake and a bundt cake, all homemade. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of the desserts, I was too full from the excellent wrap and fries. But I am determined to get back there and get dessert too, even if I have to order it first.

Best Smoked BBQ I’ve ever had. Quality, passion, and love are key ingredients in every single thing we ordered from here. This little spot is a MUST try in Charleston. The price is so great for the amount of food, the flavors are next level, and the positive energy shared from the people who work there are all unmatched. This will be our go to in every road trip when we are passing through. There was not a single thing we liked more than the next because it was all delicious. 1000/10.

We are always looking for a local gem when traveling. Phat Daddy's didn't disappoint! The chicken empanada appetizer was absolutely the best I've ever had. My shrimp bowl was so good! The Pico was so flavorful, not your run of the mill that you get at most restaurants. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The restaurant was so nice and clean. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and will visit again next time we are passing through!

Wow!! The food, prices and service were great! We were greeted in the parking lot by a gentleman who saw we had our dogs with us. He was amazing. He told us we could go in the other side of the building and bring our dogs. It was outdoor seating and was perfect for our dogs and little girl to expend some energy which was much needed as we were on a 12 hour trip home. The ribs, Phat Dog (hot dog w/ chili cheese), even the kids pizza and all the sides were great. Based on the hospitality alone I would go back but combined with the great food we will keep this on our list to stop back whenever passing through. Thank you for a great experience.

My husband and I stopped in today as we were passing through and we’re so glad we did! First of all, the staff is amazing. So friendly and welcoming. And the food? It doesn’t get much better. We had the catfish dinner (with mac n cheese and baked beans), the brisket sandwich, and the honey siracha wings. All were excellent! Catfish was perfectly fried, mac n cheese tasted like homemade, and the brisket was probably the best brisket I’ve ever had. We will definitely make it a point to stop in again!

I am not sure I can put into words how fantastic this place was. The moment you walk in you are greeted and told what to do. I always appreciate that when I go into a new place. The restaurant was immaculate. They take such good care of the place. The service there was impeccable. The wait staff were so friendly and attentive. That all being said….let move on to the food. My husband and I both got the brisket sandwich and it was the best brisket either of us have ever had. It was incredible. Their bbq sauce was also tasty. They do the fresh cut fries there. Everything about this place was incredible. If you skip on this restaurant you are truly missing out.

We were welcomed with open arms & given the absolute best treatment. You could taste the love in every bite that these people put in their food. We had the Impossible Chopped Cheese Sandwich with the hand-cut fries. I had these GIANT Mac & Cheese bites that were a perfect appetizer for any soulfully made meal. I was so full, I didn't get to try the Carrot Cake that was tempting me while we ate our suppers. Not only that but they offer "Pay it Forward Meals" to their community Monday-Friday from 5-7 PM.

Came here HUNGRY after spending 4 hours on the road. We had tried to eat at another spot nearby but forgot about the holiday; perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because Phat Daddy's was Delicious! The area nearby and the restaurant itself is a lil rundown, but don't let that scare you. The staff were incredibly friendly and it felt like we were having dinner at a family cookout. Food came out in less than 5 minutes, which was great for our hungry stomachs. I went with the pulled pork sandwich (made from pork butt!!) and oh my lord it was so tender!! It just pulled apart so easily and was nice and sweet with that sauce. Fries had a nice Cajun seasoning and had the right amount of crispiness. I'm sad that we were only passing through cuz I'd love to come back and try some more of their food! This place is definitely worth checking out, and if you're local I'm so jealous!

Had a fantastic experience in late November of 2024. Brisket was delicious and their wings are amazing. The owner greeted us kindly and the service was excellent.

Wow!!! Fan-friggin-tastic! Will absolutely be making this joint a regular! The food was amazing! Great flavor, great portions! Service was ridiculously fast and friendly. The place is clean and easily accessible! Will recommend it to everyone!

This is a great restaurant! We had the brisket and it was full of great smoky flavor. And the slaw was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and staff was kind and helpful. We also had our dog with us and they have a great fenced-in outdoor seating area where she could run around a bit. We are traveling thru Charleston but we will stop again next time in town.

Excellent food, it's the small places like this that I really enjoy. Truly a place that is a must stop and try if never been.

I found this hidden little gem while passing through Charleston, WV. Hardly bigger than a food truck and tucked away off the beaten path next to some railroad tracks, I wasn't sure what to think. I looked at the menu and saw "Rosemary Ribs". I love rosemary and hadn't heard of it cooked into ribs, I was stunned! Oh dear lord, those fall off the bone ribs were incredible! Paired with delicious onion rings and amazing baked beans, I was sucker punched. I haven't had that fantastic of a meal in a long time. Four hours from my home in North Carolina, I would seriously consider the drive just to have lunch here again. If you're ever passing through Charleston, WV, make sure you follow your GPS to Phat Daddy's on the Tracks. It's not far off of the interstates and more than well worth the detour!!!

I'm a long time fan of phat daddies, and their ribs just keep getting better with time. Any night the weather allows you to be outside, you wanna be at Phat Daddies!

The brisket was amazingly delicious and the service was equally as great. The restaurant has recently recently been remodeled inside and looks fantastic.

Really good service and tasty food. Love the hotdogs and fresh cut fries. ask for a side of their homemade slaw! Everything we have tried here is extremely fresh tasting and clearly made with love :) really cool spot, can't wait to come here and eat on the patio when it warms up!

First time to Phat Daddy's. Got the Cbopped chicken Sandwich with thick cut fries. My friend got the Chopped Cheese (steak and cheese sandwich) and fries. food was great. service was great. definitely will be returning. maybe for dinner tonight.

Tried the Steak rice bowl. It was okay, but not really outstanding. The place is nice, and obviously well liked. Service was good, and I felt valued as a customer... was busy on a Tuesday night.

My whole family loved this place. The service was spectacular but the food oh my goodness it was delicious. The brisket, ribs and salmon patties were so good. We can't wait to go back. Next time we will dine on their deck! Thank you Phat Daddy's!

I can't comment on the quality of the food as I've never been able to eat here. Stopped by once at the old location and they were closing up (earlier than what was advertised). Tried another time and they weren't open. Tried again Friday night, website says open until 9. Called to confirm girl said yes they are open until 9. Placed an online order at 8:20 for 2 dinners (over $40), received a confirmation text, then a minute later got a text saying my order was cancelled (after the money was charged to me). I called and the lady answered and said nothing but "We are closed". I told her the situation and that I had called and she said who told you that and named someone, I have no idea who told me that. She said they are open until 9 but stop taking orders at 8. This should have been specified on their website. Not sure I will attempt again. I love trying new places and supporting small businesses but this doesn't seem to be in the cards, and I'm still waiting on my refund as well (says will take 3 days) :(
