15 Great Places to Eat and Drink in the Marina

"Bobby Hossain opened his food truck in 2010, nothing new as his grandmother owned three restaurants in Thailand and his parents ran San Francisco’s Rama Thai until it closed in the early aughts. He later opened his first permanent location in spring 2023, bringing five-spice chicken and green curry to the former Yukol Palace location." - Lauren Saria, Eater Staff

San Francisco Food Truck Phat Thai Slings Soju and Crispy Pork Fried Rice at Its First Restaurant in the Marina - Eater SF

"Now, more than a decade after launching as a food truck, he’s opening the doors to Phat Thai’s first permanent space at 2380 Lombard Street. Fans of the Thai food truck can expect that same menu at the physical location, as the restaurant will serve braised five spice chicken, pad see ew with tempura prawns and soft shell crab, and a litany of other classic Thai dishes. But now the popular weekly specials will also be available every day." - Paolo Bicchieri

I LOVE Phat Thai! Bobby and crew are always so accommodating and friendly. Indicative of Thai culture, their hospitality is always on point. The food is authentic and always delicious. I love the fried rolls, the spicy papaya salad, and the mango sticky rice. And don't get me started on the amazing nitro Thai iced tea...a MUST have! Highly recommended and I will forever be a loyal customer!

Finally, a good Thai restaurant in SF! The mild sweet tinge in their Pad Kee Mao sealed the deal for me. The noodles were cooked well in sauce and tofu was properly fried. Basil leaves added a great touch. Don’t forget to get their fried tofu - that peanut sauce was amazing! Would definitely come back.

I was staying at the Infinity Hotel and returning a little late when I noticed that Phat Thai was still open. Since I wanted to have dinner in my room, I decided to get takeout. I ordered the fried pork with fried rice, and the food was absolutely great! The sauce that came with it was amazing and really brought the dish together. 🍚 Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to experience the dine-in ambiance this time, but I’d definitely love to try it next time I’m in the area. The only downside for me was the pricing. I ordered two of the same dish and ended up paying around $50, which felt a bit on the higher side💲. That said, the taste definitely compensated for it. Overall, a great spot for tasty Thai food! 🥘

Today we had an amazing lunch at Phat Thai. We love Thai food, and have had the opportunity to travel to Thailand before, and we were really impressed by Phat Thai. The server was super nice, and shared that the restaurant is family-owned with lots of recipes from their aunt. We had Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, and Yellow Curry with chicken. We’ll be back for sure, and would highly recommend Phat Thai! 🙂

I didn't expect this to be the BEST Thai I’ve had in San Francisco, but WOW! Everything was absolutely divine - the soups, the noodles, all of it - so freaking delish! Honestly, it’s even better than some of the “hot spots” everyone hypes up. This place is a gem, and the service was amazing too!

The food was amazing. My family and I met the owner and it turns out the owners Grandmother owned several Thai restaurants and taught his Mom and therefore taught her son and the chefs. Herbs from Thailand are brought over from Thailand so you are receiving a true authentic taste. We got the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and cashew chicken. All were excellent. You wont be disappointed.

This is a fun, casual spot for some great Thai food. The space is cozy and some of the tables are high-tops, so don't expect white table cloths. We had the green curry and pad Thai Both were excellent. The green curry was a bit spicy, so if you don't like it spicy then let them know beforehand. We also had the chicken wings and they were incredible! If you're looking for some mid-week Thai food, Phat Thai is 100% your spot. They do a good takeout business too.
