The 20 Best Sports Bars In Philly

"Philadium is a South Philly relic that happens to be a place where you’ll run into Eagles’ and Phillies' coaches unwinding after practice. It’s the exact place you should spend a couple of hours drinking $5 beers and eating $10 cheesesteaks before and after a game. There’s a long wooden bar, lighting that mirrors the old spectrum, and enough seating in the back that you can always find a spot near a TV. The throwback spot has drink specials to get you through even the most crushing of Flyers disappointments. Stop by during a big game or when you want to talk strategy with Howie Roseman. " - candis mclean

Went after the Phillies game only 1 mile from the ballpark pretty much across the street from chickie and Petes. Sat outside on a beautiful night did not have to wait and sat ourselves. Bar was crowded. Had to wait initially for a waitress for about 10 minutes, but after that, our waitress came quite often. We started with a couple beers and ordered their hot honey habanero pizza. Would highly recommend this pizza cooked well and tasted great. After pizza we tried the stuffed longhots, mussels and red sauce, and some wings with a sweet chili sauce. All appetizers were great. This is a great little place to go after Phillies game or any sporting event down in South Philly. Shout out to Katie our waitress who was excellent!

Google
YES! Believe the reviews! Great neighborhood bar that welcomes in those looking for great food, drinks, sports and a taste of Philly. So happy we gave it a try and sat at the bar. Bartenders were very attentive and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back!!!

Had a nice relaxing time here, great food and great service. Fries were amazing🔥🔥 BBQ Brisket sandwich warmed the body right up in the cold night. Will pass by once again before i head home.

Google
Interesting location but don't let that fool you, the food here is top notch and I wish I found out about this place sooner. Anything you get here is delicious and you will not regret getting it. Any pizzas, any sandwiches, and any of the apps are all good. Highly recommend the fried pickles and the hot honey pepperoni pizza. The spicy chicken sandwich was tasty as well. It was juicy and delicious. Overall, a great place to grab lunch or dinner. Worth checking out if you are in South Philly.

Google
A buddy of mine has been raving about this place for years and stops in whenever he goes to an Eagles home game. He had an extra ticket to the game yesterday and asked me to go so we stopped up before the game. It certainly lived up to all his hype. Great atmosphere and food, plus great people. The pizza was seriously outstanding. Highly recommended!

Google
Stopped after work for a few drinks and food Thursday 3/27 between 6-7 for a co-workers last day on the job. There was plenty of seating for all of us and the food was amazing but the service definitely could of been better I waited at the bar for a decent amount of time trying to order a drink and the bartender just kept walking back n forth. The servers for the food were definitely much better. All I'm so it was a great experience the drinks were decently priced and the food was amazing.

Google
Not welcoming. Seems like you have to know someone. VERY dirty menus. Flower pots overflowing by the outdoor seats. Bar seats available but still had empties all around so you couldn't sit. You couldn't pay me to sit on the outdoor couch. The waitress was not in a good mood. Prices are high ($13.00 for a hot dog). Miller Lite draft had to be sent back because the tap was not flushed out. No drink menu. Had to ask for all table items. It's a no for me.

Google
I love this place! We didn't eat here but came for later night drinks. Super, awesome friendly people and staff. Great service in a fun cozy bar with entertainment. We had a blast here and will 100% be back again. Great place for out of town (or country) Flyers fans to check out on a trip down.

Yelp
Had a great pregame drink/meal before the Flyers matinee. Decent craft beer list, plenty of cocktails too. Bloody Mary was solid. Fried pickles for an app since all of their sandwiches come solo. They were very heavy on the batter but not greasy. Pork sandwich was killer. My wife loved her Turkey club. Very reasonable pricing all around. Outdoor space is a bonus. This place can get quite busy on game days. Be prepared and get there early. Dive bar fee on the interior. Great locals bar. Recommend.

Yelp
Fried Bologna. Sleeper spot. Great old school spot, if you know you know. Ice cold beer!!!

Yelp
Well this not the type of place you visit for the romantic ambiance or service, to start with. It's a bar with extended sidewalk covered, patio seating in the heart of S. Philly. The food, on the other hand, is exactly why you visit. They make their menu well, and your going to get the gravy if you order it. I recommend you do, I had the Short Rib Ravioli with BBQ sauce. It was fantastic. My friend ordered the meatball parm sandwhich, said it was better than Nana's. You can trust me when I tell you, Nana's are damn good. The Gentle Don's recipe. Drinks were ok, I got an old fashionied with Makers Mark. It hit the mark especially for 7 dollars. Prices overall are very decent, cheaper than your average chain store. You'll find one of those across the way from Phiadium, ends with Petes. I'd go to Philadium over that place 10 out of 10 times.

Yelp
The food was really great. The price of the food is really great. The service was also great. The place is a bar. And if you like that your golden. The bar is actually really cool with Philadelphia sports pictures all over it. It's clean. It's got a very south Philly atmosphere. It's totally my thing but if not a Philadelphia fan, might not be yours. But overall so far on my first visit after driving by for the past 18 years, it is everything I was hoping it would be and I will be back.

Yelp
I ordered a southern fried chicken sandwich, french fries, cheesesteak, and devil blend fries. My sandwich tastes different in a good way. Its a flavor i never had before. Watching a soccer game while eating this. I would say the food is simple. I paid about $52 for food.

Yelp
Awesome bar that probably has its local clientele and also gets packed during Philly sports games. Great choices of heavy food that would probably pair awesome with a couple cold ones.

James T.

Yelp
This is a Great place. A must for me every time I'm in Philly. Cold beer and the tomato pie is Tasty .

Jacob S.

Yelp
I visited on a random Thursday night while in town for work, and it was great. Great food, great atmosphere, great bartenders. If im ever in Philly again I'm definitely coming through.

Yelp
Fun locals bar. Excellent food! Went prior to the eagles game. Full of spirit! Went before the game and came back after.

Stephen D.

Yelp
Miss Lucy was our server and she is amazing. Good food. Cold Beer Great old school bar appeal.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Nice little south Philly joint. It's a usual stop for us before a Phillies game. The service is typical south Philly and isn't much to write home about. The bathroom is filthy, needs a handyman and has no soap. There was a questionable water pool all over the floor. The food however is pretty good and the beer is cold. The stuffed long hots were absolutely awesome! The nachos are above average. Most every sandwich is a winner. Don't expect warm service or immaculate cleanliness above basic living standards. The food though is worth it. It's across the street from a much larger south Philly chain sports bar, to save you the trouble of that over packed joint.

Stephen P.

Yelp
Had a great time service and food was good watched a game on the big screens Everything was awesome The wait was about 45 min

John B.

Yelp
Excellent bar food/Pizza, great sandwiches, and a few decent meals. Prices are also on par. Service is always great. Enjoyable spot for a ball game or a quick bite and some cocktails. Great DJ on Friday/Saturday nightsturday nights.

Yelp
After hearing about this place for years, I decided they would get my pre-Sixers game business tonight. I had the boy with me so I was happy to see the kids menu. Cheeseburger for the boy, roast pork sandwich for me. Nice and easy. Well the best compliment I can give is this. I can tell that they take some pride in their sandwiches. The roast pork was juicy and tender, and it had a nice spice to it. It was everything a South Philly roast pork sandwich is supposed to be. The boy didn't complain about the burger. I will say I really liked my taste of the fries. They have a little something to them. Seriously. Forget that big overrated sports bar across the street. This place is the real deal.

Yelp
A South Philly Staple. Not your average quality bar food. This stuff is grade-A Top quality food. The perfect place to watch the game. Check out my video review! https://youtu.be/yFKooo1xfEA?feature=shared

Edward L.

Yelp
The biggest and most succelent mussels I've had in a long time, and Katie, the best server ever!!!!!

Sal D.

Yelp
Philadium is a South Philly classic. Great food and alternative to Chickie's which get way overcrowded and the food is not 1/2 as good
google avatar

Regina F.

Yelp
Philadium Baladium this place is the t:ts Anyone going to a birds or Phil's games should make this a must stop before or after the game. Lady running the bar prolly had great cans back in the day and I must say I wish I was there. They gots a bangin peanut butter and hotdog sandwich which isn't on the menu. You just gotta ask...
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
What a great find. Called them when I was driving into Philly to see if they would be showing the Florida Panthers versus Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game. They said that they would get it on which they did when I arrived. The crew behind the bar was fantastic. I got the brisket filled ravioli which was unbelievable! Absolutely fantastic. While sitting at the bar, I got to watch the rest of the food coming out of the kitchen and it all looks amazing. Can't wait to go back and try this place in the future. A must when visiting Philly a great local place.

Dominic N.

Yelp
Food is always top notch and the staff is very friendly. Great Neighborhood spot anytime...other place in the area is overrated.

Lauren C.

Yelp
The vegan options were really good. Vegan philly cheesesteak was yummy. Delicious long Island ice tea. Service was very good. Casual atmosphere. Fyi cash only. Within walking distance of citizens ballpark. Only onstreet parking.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Came down for the Lakers/Sixers game. Like my tip says...parking is a mess. The guys running the place couldn't be nicer. My only gripe was with my beer. I ordered a draft of Fat Tire what I got was a draft of New Belgium Wit. I drank the brew but would have gone a different direction if I knew they didn't have the Fat Tire. I prefer to be told the draft list is wrong then to get passed a different beer. I didn't circle back but I did get wacked for $5.50 for a big ass basket of fries. I swear the menu said fries were a $1 add to cheese steaks. I got a basket for almost $6?????

Yelp
Philadium is the perfect place in South Philly to eat or drink before/after the game Their sirloin cheesesteak is VERY good and what I usually get when I'm there. But honestly, any appetizer there is solid and so I wouldn't overthink it. If I had to choose what apps to get, try the fried mozzarella and cheesesteak egg rolls. Their pizza is also a great as well (House pie is spicy ). You honestly can't go wrong with anything you try here Drinks are always cold, the vibes are great. Perfect local spot even on a non-gameday. Personal favorite favor in Philly to be honest.

Joe S.

Yelp
My wife had dinner here after the 2022 TSO Concert. She had cheeseburger and I a Hot Roastbeef sandwich. There was a bit of confusion with the burger order, and truthfully my wife admitted she my have misread the menu. Both the server and the manager, I am guessing the owner did everything to make us happy. The roastbeef was great but not the best. That is because I am old enough to remember Mulligan's Bar, at 28th and Jackson st. lol Seriously both meals were very good and we definitely we go back.
google avatar

K L.

Yelp
They have plenty of vegan options which is great but I chose the vegan boneless wings which I ordered over the phone which to me were very chewy and dry even with the sauce ... I wish they used another faux meat ... my real issue is with honesty. If you pay your employees under the table or want to make your business seem like its not thriving then thats on YOU. But when a customer wants to use their debit card and you tell them "we take Cash only but we have an ATM" ... then you arent being honest now are you??? Me personally, I drove my car to my nearest bank (it was literally across the street) to cash out rather than pay $3 to an ATM. When I got back they decided to tell me "oh we could have taken your card" they pretty much tried to strong arm me into giving them cash or using the atm then gave up when I returned with cash. If you have payment options then offer a customer options ... they should have stuck to their lie and just accepted my cash once i returned without mentioning they would take debit (it only took me 5 minutes to leave and come back but still) cause now i feel like they wasted my time and energy.

Yelp
Great spot in Philly not far from the stadiums. We decided to try this place out after a Phillies game and the food was good. We got Cheesesteak Egg Rolls which were delicious, a fried meatball sandwich and a spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were really good and fresh. The only downside is that the place is CASH ONLY!! So make sure you have cash on you... ATM is available but you will receive a surcharge to use.
google avatar

Robert P.

Yelp
I've been going here for 40 years. Usually before a Phils game. It used to be great. Dumpy dive bar. There were parents with kids. Lots! And a $14 Cheese Burger. Just what the world needs. Food was fine. I'm writing this at the games and the Dodgers are Whooping us. Some things never change. I lied we came back and won in the 16th inning!!! I take it back. Eat here it's lucky!!
google avatar

Just R.

Yelp
Don't be surprised that you have to pay in cash, use the subway and don't try to park in the neighborhood, act like a normal human being, and you'll have a great time
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Stop in here for lunch today and I'm glad we did. They did an amazing job with the outside seating area and the server Joe was great. I started off with a Bloody Mary and Steve made it to perfection. For lunch I had wings, Caesar salad with shrimp and they were both very good. My daughter got a BLT with an avocado spread that was in her words "amazing" lol!!!! We will definitely be stopping back soon as long as our mayor allows the restaurants and bars continue to stay open.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the food and service! Fried pickles and the Buffalo Chicken pizza are my favorites! My family loves going to the Philadium! Eat, Drink, and Be Happy!
google avatar

Yelp
True hidden gem in South Philly. Food is great (lots of choices!), drinks are great, service is great, perfect location. Rob ("Schaef") the bartender was on his game, not an empty glass all night, friendly and fast! The servers, Ava and Amelia were running around taking care of all the customers, also friendly and fast. If you are in the area, stop in, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Kathleen W.

Yelp
Cute, friendly & very welcoming!!! The food was great & Tom the bartender was awesome. Do yourself a favor and try the Tito's lemonade on tap....yummmmmm
google avatar

Lia B.

Yelp
This is a MUST. This place is downright the coolest south Philly spot. The vegan menu is killing the game and the brisket sandwich is bonkers. I had a tomato pie too with vegan parm. This spot is a Must must must for any Philadelphia vegan!!!
google avatar

Bree R.

Yelp
Soo, we went to check this place out since we never heard of it before. We were a little skeptical about what kind of clientele would be inside, if they're welcoming etc.. but we were pleasantly surprised! All of the staff here are very friendly, they ALL take care of you one way or another and the food is DELISH!! Drinks are reasonably priced and our server Kathleen was a sweetheart! She was very willing to answer any questions about the menu and offered some advice on what's good(practically everything btw). I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu! Thanks for having us!!!
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
As Philly as you can get. If you want hoopla and window dressing, this isn't your place. You want real world...head here. Food is delicious. Bartenders are no nonsense and honest. The decor is neighborhood friendly. This is a can't miss place. **Update** Just when I thought I couldn't love this place any more, they upgraded the bar, bathrooms, and modernized the menu. Incredible.

Yelp
Best pizza in south philly! Friendly neighborhood bar with great food. I visit all of the time and never had a bad experience!!
google avatar

Vinny C.

Yelp
Nah not feeling this place . I didn't enjoy my sasauge sandwich at all it tasted off and a little salty to me. Not a good experience at all plus the lettuce was a little brown. Wings were ok tho could of been cruncher tho
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
Best ever. Great chicken nachos. Also, cheese steak egg rolls and panzarati. Bar tenders are top notch, never had an empty glass.

Rusty G.

Yelp
Super friendly local sports bar with great food and Philly Atmosphere!! Have the brisket fries, you won't be sorry!!!
google avatar

Lucy B.

Yelp
Very friendly and welcoming Staff. Deelish food. In business since 1971; a long-time staple in the community, within close proximity to the Wells Fargo Center/Citizens Bank Park/Lincoln Financial Field.

Josh W.

Yelp
Sat outside before heading to a Phillies game on a Saturday. The service was friendly, comical, and slow. The beverage delivery was tolerable. But the food delivery was terrible. Over and hour for a pizza. Jokes were made to lighten the situation but unfortunately it made the overall experience undesirable. Not sure this place deserves a second chance. *update:we got a beer bath but the pizza was good. Score was realistically a 2.75. I'll give it another shot next year.
google avatar

Jan B.

Yelp
Love this South Philly bar! So friendly. Great food, fabulous service! Food is delicious and they have something for everybody, including delicious vegan options.our go-to place when we go to a game. Vegan special pizza is killer! Even my husband likes it and he's not vegan!

Larry S.

Yelp
I was there for the first time before a flyers game and my son introduced me to this place. Service was good, the food was better, and the beer was excellent. I thought everything was reasonably priced. It will be my new pre/post game home. From Lancaster Co. but South Philly can be a lot of fun. Drive another block past Chicky & Pete's, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Unfortunately changed the food menu and it has taken a turn for the worst...Place is cozy and has a good staff but the food chance makes me not go anymore...The Cheesesteak used to be amazing and it fails epically now...Don't skimp on food when you had a good thing going!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Awesome spot awesome food awesome workers make sure you swing by and give them a go and find out for yourself I promise you won't be disappointed. They got this peach alcohol slushy drink it's great food is awesome service is awesome stop by for good food service and a good load with good people lol
google avatar

Lou S.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Great staff and food. Recently did a full remodel. See Steve and Reggie at the bar. Great guys! Come here before or after Games. Million times better than chickies!

Rich S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer and sandwich with wife prior to a Sixers game. Unfortunately, bartender avoided us for the most part and attended to his "regulars". After waiting 30 minutes for a pork sandwich, I asked bartender if order was almost ready since we were leaving soon to attend game. He said there was a problem with the ordering machine and seemed to have no recollection of the order. I ordered a second draft and he handed me a half glass of beer since keg was tapped. The sandwich finally arrived about an hour after the order. Following week we ate and drank at Chickie and Petes and were greeted with a much warmer reception along with excellent food!

Elijah B.

Yelp
Corner joint with Italian-American and fried food. Nothing special except for the pizza - I love it! A lot of no sauce, white pizzas and even a little Greek flair. Mostly fried frozen otherwise.
google avatar

Jon P.

Yelp
Best sports bar in South Philly! Couldn't get into Xfinity, line wasn't moving, decided to give Philladium a try, blessing in disguise! #winning
