Philly's Best

First time here. Service was friendly and helpful. Good food. The chicken philly sandwich was good, but next time, I'll have to ask for the meat to not be so chopped. I know that's the style of the sandwich, but it made the sandwich more difficult to eat, plus being a bit soggy. The french fries were okay. Would go back to try the pizza.

My brother raved about this places sandwiches so we took a ride downtown. He suggested the large Philly and we also shared a slice of the gyro pizza. The gyro pizza was good a little expensive for a slice but it was something different. Now my sandwich on the other hand was a disappointment 😞. I've had bad experiences with cheese steaks they always find a way to put mayo on it despite me saying not to. I asked the guy at the counter and he clearly said they don't put mayo on the sandwiches so I figured I was cool. And once I got home got damnit it was mayo on my sandwich 🤢. I was so disappointed. And considering the price 😑(smdh). Then we called to say something they answered but then quickly hung up . So this place is a definite no for me👎.( I doctored my sandwich in the photo.)

Ordered a large Philly Steak with green peppers and seasoned fries. The food was really good. This was the best Philly Steak I’ve had in a really long time. The sandwich was filling and the steak meat was tender. The fries were seasoned just right and not salty. The gentleman at the register was very nice and customer friendly. I gave them 4 stars berceuse they put the ketchup packets on top of the fries which is in the same bag as the fries. I feel this is very unsanitary. Why do my ketchup packets have to touch my fries. Really don’t get this! Construction is also on the same block but the gentleman at the register pointed me in the right direction to find a park. Thanks again 😊

Best philly cheese steak pizza! 🍕 First time ordering and won’t be our last, the pizza was fresh, delicious and soooooo good 🤤 but unfortunately the chicken Philly sandwich wasn’t as expected, It was ok but definitely not the best, the meat doesn’t taste good at all, also the fries was flavourless. Would only go back for their pizza.

I know what makes a good cheesesteak, if you want a good one, go to Monti's on the Northside (it's fantastic and authentic). The drive up north would be worth it because this was awfulll. I've never thrown away a meal, and 80% of this (including the fries which were decent) - went in the trash. Beef was thick, chewy, flavorless, and looked old. Bread was one dimensional with minimal cheese. Just terrible. Would've asked for a refund if the employees weren't so cold. EDIT: Forgot to mention how dirty everything was especially the tables.

The food was pretty good. Not the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had, but it was a really good cheesesteak. The service was okay. The guy who took my order wasn't rude, but he certainly wasn't friendly either. The actual location is pretty beat. It's not very well maintained and over to the right of the counter where you pick up your food, the door was open to what looked like it went down to a basement or maybe out toward an alley or something, and it smelled disgusting. If I didn't see that door open, and I made the guess that the smell was coming from the inside, I would have turned around and left. As it was, I convinced myself that the smell was coming from something rotting in the alley, and waited for my food. Since the service was not terrible, and I pretended like the smell was okay, because it might have been coming from outside, I would have given this place a higher rating if the price hadn't been so outrageous. A small cheesesteak (8 in) is $14.99, and the large cheesesteak (12 in) that I ordered is $19.99. Surprisingly, The cheesesteak only comes with onions and cheese. If you want peppers, it's an extra $0.75. I'm not a Philly native, but every cheesesteak I've ever had has grilled peppers and onions, so I was surprised to have to spend $0.75 to add peppers to my sandwich. An order of fries is $7. So for two people with an appetite to each have a cheesesteak and share an order of fries, it's over $50 after tax. The large cheesesteak is technically big enough for two people to share, but if you have a decent appetite, you'd probably want more than a half of a large. If you're looking for a very good cheesesteak, and don't care about the atmosphere or service, and are okay with the prices, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the sandwich.

This might have been the best place 21 years ago, but the customer service was absolutely terrible. I don't care if this is the best sandwich in all of America. To have to deal with this level of rudeness is insane. If there is no other reason than incompetence or unhappiness, no one should feel the way I did after taking an Uber across town for this. The place was empty, and there is an apparent reason why. When you read the signs in here, you can see the problem. It's attitude. Or racist behavior. Never again. This is obviously a place black people aren't welcome. This is a truly wild Karen. This was written before tasting the sandwich. Old onions, old bread, where was the cheese on this? It's a shame. No one takes pride in their job or service. Sasquatch behind the counter that's rude ,racist, and miserable and an overpriced sandwich that's not even edible... mediocre at best. Stay away from here. You've been warned.

Every time I come to Chicago I have to have Philly's Best. Hands down the BEST I ever had. The hardest decision is whether to get the chicken or the steak! 😋
