17 Remarkable Coffee Bars to Discover in Orange County | Eater LA

"The Phin Smith space was designed to foster productivity and vibrancy among its patrons, and although this part of Garden Grove was relatively sleepy when the cafe was originally established, the city’s vivacity now spills into the dynamic space. The drinks mixed up by Phin Smith are as delectable as the atmosphere, but the Vietnamese iced coffee and coconut blended are fan favorites, inspired by the owners’ global travels." - Jordan Morosco

Everything was so cute!! and the drinks were delicious. and the service is unmatched. just like all of the other reviews here - this is a must! we got 3 different drinks. the strawberry matcha, the ca phe sua da and then the coconut esque (?) one. all 3 were amazing with the ca phe sua da being the best. the service was amazing and they have you test the drink to see if you like it before you pay which is something i’ve never experienced before. it was clean and the decor was so cute. when I go back to the west coast I will definitely go back!

4.7/5 ### Phin Smith in Garden Grove – Coconut & Avocado Smoothie Coffee Steals the Show Nestled in the heart of Garden Grove, Phin Smith is a gem for anyone craving a fresh spin on Vietnamese coffee. I stopped by last Saturday morning, drawn by buzz about their Coconut and Avocado Smoothie Coffee, and let me tell you—this drink is a game-changer. The shop itself exudes a warm, inviting vibe with its minimalist decor, colorful murals, and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. The staff was all smiles, quick to take my order, and even tossed in a suggestion to add an extra splash of coconut milk for that tropical punch. This smoothie coffee is pure magic in a cup. The bold, nutty Vietnamese coffee base holds its own, delivering that classic caffeine kick, while the avocado blends in for a velvety, almost dessert-like creaminess that’s surprisingly light. The coconut milk ties it together with a natural sweetness that doesn’t overpower—think beach vacation in liquid form. I got the medium ($6.50, a steal), and it was perfectly chilled, refreshing, and kept me satisfied for hours. No grainy texture, no overly sweet aftertaste—just a harmonious blend of flavors. On the flip side, the place was packed, and my order took about 12 minutes during the morning rush. Also, the menu could be clearer on portion sizes; I had to ask for details. But these are minor gripes when the drink is this good. Phin Smith nails the balance of innovation and tradition, making it a must-visit for coffee lovers in Garden Grove. I’m already planning my next trip to pair this with their banh mi. Solid 4.6/5—nearly perfect, and I’m hooked!

If you're a coffee lover, you have to try the Vietnamese coffee served here—especially the Phin style! It has a unique flavor that's a bit different from the traditional version, but it's definitely worth a taste. Just a heads up, it can get pretty busy on the weekends, but don’t worry, they serve you up quickly. Enjoy!

Google
Smaller space and lots of people coming through. But they have many baristas handmaking your drinks. They even ask you if you like your drink, and they will remake your drink before you pay if you don’t! Ca Phe Sua Da is the most popular but Oahu Joe and Taiwanese Sea Salt Coffees are both really good.

Google
Super tasty coffee! We stopped here due to the excellent reviews and it did not disappoint! The shop was literally packed with people at almost every table when we came in. They have a pretty decent sized menu with a variety of coffee drinks and matcha. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee and my parents ordered the Oahu Joe and Vanilla Cold Brew. We all loved our drinks! My Vietnamese coffee was well-balanced and not too sweet. The Oahu Joe had tropical vibes with lots of coconut flavors (which we love). Prices were surprisingly lower than what I was expecting. Service was excellent. I will be visiting again when I come back out here in December!

1. The Dutch mocha is one of my favorite drinks in OC! It’s ice-blended so it’s perfect for the summer! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with high ceilings! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with our drinks! Note: This spot does have their own restrooms for customers! Photo: Dutch Mocha

Yelp
One word. FIRE! Went there for the first time. My coworker brought me a banana latte, liked it, but didn't necessarily love it but she did. So this isn't me knocking their banana latte it just wasn't for me BUT i will say at my job that's what they're well known for. Everyone raves about it. Anyways! I went there in person saw their menu and i tried the coconut one. It's like a blended drink and OH EM GEEEE! FIRE. Soooo good I don't even know how to explain it, it's the perfect blend of coffee and coconut. Went in the very next day cause that's all I could think of at work, added a shot, just cause I like the coffee a little stronger. My coworker got the javacado I believe and she loved it. The service is dope, you pay after your order is ready and they wait to see if you'd like any adjustments so that's smart. Love the way the place looks and right now it's decorated for Christmas so it's a cute little photo op. Look for the sky blue Vespa out front you can't miss it! Can't wait to try other drinks

Yelp
We were visiting the Anaheim area and was looking for a local coffee shop, we were not disappointed and have been telling people all about Phin Smith! I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but man this was SO GOOD. I ordered the Cà Phê Sữa Đá and it was AMAZING. Our barista even told us to try the drink and if we didn't like it or need modulations to let us know, of course it was excellent. The vibes were awesome as well, very friendly environment! It was so good we went 4 days in a row. I definitely recommend!

Yelp
I was a little confused by their ordering system at first, but I quickly realized how effective it is at keeping the line moving and minimizing the wait. When you walk in, you join the line at the bar, where about eight baristas are taking orders and making drinks. Once your drink is ready, you bring it to the cashier to pay. It's simple and efficient. My favorite drink is their coconut coffee. It's the best I've ever had, and I honestly wish I lived closer so I could get it more often.

Zeeshan Q.

Yelp
I heard great things about Phin Smith from a friend so I decided to check them out in the morning. I really like the way you order your drink then pay once you receive it. I ordered the frosted coconut coffee, which at first tasted rather mellow and bitter, but once I mixed it thoroughly it was very refreshing, and I loved the subtle nutty hints of coconut with each sip. If you love Vietnamese coffee, you can't miss this place. +Extra points for the interior decor

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of peanut butter, so when I discovered that this place had Peanut Butter Coffee on their menu, I couldn't resist trying it. Their ordering process was quite unique compared to most places. You first order your coffee, wait for it to be ready, and then take it to the register to pay. I ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and of course, the Peanut Butter Coffee, both of which I was hoping would be stronger than they were. Despite the lack of bold flavors, I still found the Peanut Butter Coffee to be good. The service was friendly and the modern, festively decorated space was a welcome sight for the upcoming holiday. I will definitely be returning for more of their peanut butter coffee. If you're a fan of peanut butter and coffee, this place is a must-visit! Note: If you can't find street parking in front of the store, there's a small parking lot across the street.

Yelp
Tried the egg coffee today! They have the option of either having a black coffee base or the traditional Vietnamese coffee. It's a very sweet drink so it feels pretty decadent but the coffee flavor is strong. The store was decorated for Christmas already when we went the week of Thanksgiving. Very busy but fast service.
google avatar

Yelp
SO YOM love this place. Really like their peanut butter coffee. This time tried banana peanut butter coffee when we said we liked both flavors. Also liked their Oahu Joe coffee! Very tropical tasting. Lots of seating for studying. What happened to Dzo? It was closed when I last tried to stop by.

Yelp
I love this place, but it's out of my way and I don't get to visit often. I had time today, so I made the trek and was glad that I did, because the drinks were wonderful! Parking is typically sparse, but today I parked in the parking lot near McDonald's, because there was a farmer's market in full swing. The service here is fast, as they have a system in place for efficiency. It's really loud and chaotic inside, but they do have seating outside. The drinks are reasonably priced and hit the spot every time! I enjoy all of the drinks and I highly recommend this spot, if you are in the area.

Yelp
I loved the service when I first came here, I felt so special. The service is so so now. Hit or miss you can say. They changed the crowler bottle to a pop can. They need to change the crowler bottle back to the twist cap so we can save the rest of the 32oz. The coffee still good though.

Yelp
I haven't been to Phin Smith in a few months but it's still one of my favorite places to get coffee or matcha. I was getting my hair done around the area and decided to stop by to grab some coffee since it was early. Usually my go to there is the melon bar matcha but I noticed they had the banana creme matcha and I had to get it since I'm still in my banana matcha phase lol. Matcha itself is delicious and the banana creme just made it better after every sip. This place is usually busy but the wait/line goes by pretty quick. The staff is always friendly as well!
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Make sure to get the Ca Phe Sua Da (phin style). It's so strong, rich, and smooth. This is the real deal for anyone who loves bold Vietnamese coffee. The blended strawberry matcha is my favorite matcha drink here, and the blended coconut coffee is perfect if you want something a little lighter and less intense. The owner is such a great guy too, super friendly and passionate about what he does. Definitely check out his brewery Dzo right next door.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here at least 4 times and they always hit! Cute coffee shop with a good variety of drinks. Service is great , they let you test out the drink before you pay to ensure it is to your liking. My current favorite drink is the ice blend strawberry matcha! I've tried the season Pumpkin Spice Blend and also the Banana Cream Matcha Latte, Peanut Butter Coffee, and the Javacado. All are good!! This is one of our go to spots for anything matcha!

Yelp
A nice modern and eclectic coffee shop sits on Main Street in Garden Grove, and you must come in and try. Single line funnels onto 3-4 Baristas who are shaking, pouring, and preparing the drinks while they ask you for your order. A friend told me to get the Banana Latte, however I needed a good jolt and settled on their Phin Style Cafe Sua Da. Really flavorful and sweet. Not much more to say on this place, but its worth a shot if you're in the area. Great outdoor seating on the patio that gives that "downtown" feel. I would love to have a cup of coffee here in the winter. Hopefully they'll have their heaters out. Banana Latte, I'm coming for you next!

Yelp
Their drinks are the best !! My husband gets their cold brew and I get their chai latte ! We're both obsessed ! We try coffee/ tea places everywhere ! And he said this is the best cold brew he has ever had! He loves the nutty bold flavor . It's pretty how their cold brew is slow steeped for 12 hrs . This place is pretty roomy inside with tons of seating and a lot of customers always there hanging out . A great atmosphere in the heart in garden grove .
google avatar

Yelp
Oh em geeeeeee!! By far the best coffee I have had and the best experience I've had at a coffee shop!! My barista was so kind and you get to see them make your coffee right in front of you and taste test it before you pay for your drink. Best coffee and service and the coffee shop was very modern and clean! A bit of a drive from where I live but will definitely have to make the drive because it's so worth it!! Highly highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place for their strong vietnamese coffee. It's made the traditional way not overly sweet at all. This place is also super convenient with a parking lot across the street. Definitely a must spot when in the area. The staff are super friendly and nice. I love how they focus on making the drink to your liking. The place is spacious, perfect for studying, with festive decorations for the holidays.
google avatar

Jo Q.

Yelp
First time trying this place and I am happy to say it was well worth the stop. Their Taiwanese seal salt coffee was amazing. Not too sweet but the other ice blend coffee is worth many more trips. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area but worth the drive if you're not that close.
google avatar

Yelp
I normally don't like drinks with banana because it always tastes like the artificial candy but this drink surprised me! The banana cream tasted EXACTLY like banana cream pudding. So the flavor was still very sweet but it wasn't artificial like banana flavored candy. It was really good but it was strong the point where it overpowered the matcha. I'd be curious to get the coffee version since that might be strong enough to make it more balanced. The service was great! The barista that took care of me answered all my dumb questions and made sure I liked my drink/didnt need adjustments before moving me towards the cashier.
google avatar

Hesperian C.

Yelp
Okay , this is one of the coffee spots I go to whenever I'm in SoCal. I've tried at least half the menu, however I usually get the Oahu Joe just cause it's one of ones you can really get anywhere else. It's just coffee, coconut, and macadamia. Just simple and good. Service here is always fast and friendly. And the drinks here are consistent. I know whatever I get will taste like it did the last time.
google avatar

Mellissa B.

Yelp
This banana matcha was so so so good!! There was lots of banana cream on top that even when I was almost done there was still some of the cream left and you can taste the banana the whole time. Not one of those drinks where you just taste the cream on top and that's it. The matcha itself was so good too. I wish there was a bigger size. I was just visiting so I've been thinking of this banana matcha since I left lol. I will definitely come back next time!! Not sure how the service is since this was dropped off to me but I would still say pretty fast by the time I texted my brother's gf my order and arrived to me fast.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get coffee! I have been going here since it first opened years ago and it never fails to impress me. At this point I've probably tried their entire menu already. The workers are always so welcoming whenever I come. I love that they always ask me if I've tried the drink before and allow me to do a taste test in case I want any adjustments. The decorations inside are really cute and is always a perfect vibe, whether I'm studying alone or catching up with a friend. Whenever I have friends from out of town, I always introduce them to this place and they always love it! The cafe doesn't allow any adjustments for milk which can be a deterrent for some people, but I think all of their drinks are crafted to perfection so I personally don't mind! My favorite is the Oahu Joe because I think the flavors complement eachother really well and is the perfect amount of fruity, sweet, and nutty. I don't think there's a menu item that I have tried that has ever disappointed me, though. They also have seasonal drinks around the holidays, which I always love to try. I always love supporting local businesses and this one is definitely one of my favorites. Despite going here for years, the quality has not gone down at all and I will continue to support them! There is also plenty to do around here on Main Street. My favorite thing to do is grab a coffee on Sunday morning, walk around the farmers market and check out all the local vendors, and then check out the thrift store across the street. Perfect way to spend your Sunday!
google avatar

Yelp
Located in Main Street in Garden Grove, but was easily able to find free parking in the lot. There was a small line, but it moved quickly. You order with the barista (kind of like Philz), then they have you try the drink to make sure you like it before paying. I got the Coconut Coffee which was a blended ice drink that was lightly sweetened. Will be back when I'm in the area to try other drinks!
google avatar

Joyce T.

Yelp
I had to stop by to try this highly rated coffee shop and my fellow Yelpers did not let me down! I wanted to get a plain coffee but there are so many cool concoctions here I had to try something more unique. I settled on the Korean corn iced latte after asking the barista if it was sweet. He said it was nicely balanced and could make it less sweet for me - and he really delivered! It really tastes like a corn cream mixed with coffee. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet (highest compliment lol), and a fun drink for a hot summer day. The barista was so sweet and asked me to try the drink before paying so he could make sure I was happy with it. And I really was! The vibe is really cool and relaxed. Can't wait to come back and try more drinks!
google avatar

Myrna S.

Yelp
I never thought I would say this but This. Is. My. Favorite. Coffee. Shop. It checks all the boxes, delicous treats, great service and magical Christmas ambiance in a quant little street that reninds me of the old town in big bear. Notably, I have never met a truer barista than Emily! She wouldn't let us pay for our drinks until we tried them and happily approved. Shout out to whoever Phin Smith is, can you open up a shop in Norwalk? Please? See you guys at 8am when you open lol. Commuting from LA County to OC County just for a Blueberry Matcha Frapp!

Yelp
I wrote a review in the beginning of August and it's gone. But to keep things short and simple. There was lots of lines that we had to wait in-- one line to order, a line to taste our drinks and see if they need modifications, and then a line to pay. If it works, I guess that's nice. But there's such a large pressure I felt in the second portion of the line that I didn't taste the drink to see if it needed any modifications. I ordered the Iced Banana Coffee. It was quite light, the banana... I heard they use real banana but it tasted artificial to me. Or perhaps they added artificial for an extra oomph, if so then it was the wrong move. Also, it doesn't taste like whole milk, I think they use oat or almond in the mix. It felt a little dry if you know what I mean. I love banana lattes, but this was not it. Next time, I'd get a different drink. My friend got the Oahu Joe, it only comes in one size. He said the flavor was good and tropical. Strong but he wishes there was a bigger size for it. The prices for the drinks are pretty good! I would come back here to try other drinks for sure. We parked on the streets and it was relatively easy to park. They have bathrooms available to use as well. Lots of interior seats and exterior.

Michelle N.

Yelp
My friends are obsessed with this place and I finally decided to give it a try! I don't usually get banana cream drinks, but was told by many that the Banana Cream Matcha Latte here was a hit. I enjoyed it!!! Not sure how I feel still about the banana, but that's just personal preference. The cream was thick and mixed well with the matcha where it wasn't too overpowering. Yummy and creamy!
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
This coffee shop is located in downtown Garden Grove, and I really like that the menu has a variety of craft, specialized drinks. My group got the banana matcha latte, peanut butter latte, and the banana coffee. I truly enjoyed all the drinks. I would add too that I am sometimes hesitant when getting matcha as sometimes the matcha taste gets hidden by too much milk; at Phin Smith, the matcha is very prominent and would highly recommend this drink. The workers are also incredibly nice, and very helpful especially if it is your first time here. They let you try the drink and ensure you love your drink (and happy to make adjustments if needed) before you pay at the end of the counter. I still think about this coffee shop to this day. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the OC!
google avatar

Jeff T.

Yelp
I've heard the tales of Phin Smith but just barely got to give it a try when I was in the area the other day. It was a little unassuming from the outside, but the inside was definitely a vibe. Trendy with lots of coffee beans and swag to buy. I ordered the Coconut Coffee and the Cafe Sua Da. The Coconut Coffee was amazing! I had expected it to just be coffee with coconut milk in coffee, but it was sort of like a mix of coconut cream blended ice drink and coffee. Perfect flavor and sweetness through the coconut and condensed milk, though lighter on the coffee side (you still taste it). The place is large and it was packed but didn't wait long. Order at coffee bar first, then get drink and give a thumbs up, then pay. So glad I made a stop here!

Yelp
3+ years later and Phin Smith remains one of my fav vietnamese coffee spots to try out whenever I am down in SoCal. This time around, Phin Smith was quite packed (the line was out the door on a Sunday morning at 10AM) but moved quickly. Still one of the smoothest vietnamese coffees with a strong kick to satisfy that craving. Remains my top place to visit!
google avatar

Khang L.

Yelp
I love their coconut coffee! It's all really ever get when I come here. The service is really good where that they will remake your drink if you don't like it or even let you get differe t drink. I have tried their other drinks like a blueberry matcha, which I thought was good, but it nothing compared to their coconut coffee.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop that has a ton of space. It can get kind of bustling but the drinks come out fast and the staff are super friendly and it's a vibe. Their melon matcha is on the sweeter end - almost like a Melona popsicle melted down and mixed with matcha. If you have a sweet tooth it's pretty bomb. The coconut coffee is also really good if you like coconut even a little bit. Overall would come back!
google avatar

Janelle H.

Yelp
First time visiting Phil Smith and the staff were so incredibly friendly. They offered to let me try my drink before buying it which was very impressive. I thought they were going to make a sample but they made my full drink and let me sip it, offering to make something else for me if I didn't like it. But I loved it so I stuck with my choice! I ordered an iced Dustino, a Costa Rican style mocha which was DELICIOUS! Also ordered, strawberry matcha latte and ca phe sua da.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
The banana coffee as to be absolutely one of the best things on the menu!! Service is good the only thing is that the system is a bit strange, you order and then get your drink then pay or sometimes you pay first then get your drink. That part of the system was just a bit confusing when I came here for the first time. Ambiance is nice seating inside and outside. The only thing is that they don't have cables here just one so it's not a very ideal study spot unless you bring your own portable chargers. But they have restrooms for customers.
google avatar

Yelp
WOW. cannot recommend this place enough! stopped in at 10:30am on a sunday nervous I'd have a long wait ahead of me because the place was poppin, but I was in and out in maybe 10 minutes max, even with a long line! when I went to order, despite how busy it was, the barista justina was super patient and helpful in deciding what to order! i got 2 banana coffee drinks for my friends and i ordered one of their most popular drinks (though I'm so sorry I forget the name ) they even let you taste your drink before you purchase / check out which was such a sweet touch - everything was absolutely delicious! lots of seating too - very clean environment good for a drop in coffee or even a casual date! will definitely be back to try more of these delicious creations oh just a heads up they don't allow alterations to their drinks but a lot of them are made with non dairy milk alternatives - my best friend is an alternative milk hater and she didn't even notice!
google avatar

Yelp
WOW! Soo good. I ordered Banana Coffee. I usually dont order this flavor because other places I've tried was overly sweet or it taste very concentrated like some fake syrup. Lol if you know you know. This is amazing. Its creamy, slightly taste the Banana flavor thats equally balance from flavor to coffee ratio. Which i love. I really hate when I can not taste the coffee. I wish I take a before picture before blending together because it definitely Instagram/yelp worthy. Customer Service: they were very friendly and great atmosphere. I find it unique that you place your order, then once you recieve your order...then you can pay.
google avatar

Julie Ann M.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by a friend and all I could say is WOW. I loved the lavender foam matcha from Starbucks and since it's no longer in season, I was excited to find it on the menu. It's soo tasty! Highly recommend when you're in Anaheim.
google avatar

Maddy T.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with Phin smith. I drive 40 mins just to get it!! Their best is definitely the banana coffee. Their baristas will make it for you at the bar and you can try before you buy if you have never have had Phin filter coffee. Sweetness can be adjusted but I think it's perfect as is. Parking is free street parking in a cute downtown area with a bunch of other cafes as well.
google avatar

Yelp
1st time visiting...terrific quality coffee! Banana coffee was really good! Extra shots no-charge! Cheers and thanks to Michael who assisted us. His recommendation was tops! Will be back again!!!

Yelp
Excellent egg coffee; Vietnamese coffee w/ condensed milk, etc. So rich and perky! Yes, I needed a boost . I also purchased bag(3) of matcha powder ( for gifts ) which was highly recommended another patron. Quick service and excellent customer service. I asked for refill of coffee and was going to pay but host offered it complimentary. Very thankful because I had a long drive from Napa Valley. Great atmosphere. Clean, vibrant and attractive.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're wondering about the BANANA LATTE.... It's actuary great. I was adamant because I don't generally like bananas but I said heck it seems popular and interesting and also been seeing combinations of espresso and the Korean banana milk drink online so why not. The banana flavor is subtle but it's there. It was clean tasting and they let me try it before I paid so I can make adjustments. If that's not customer service idk what is. I've also tried the original cafe sua da and also magnificent. The line was out the door but moved fairly quickly.

Yelp
Cafe brûlée, banana coffee, and coconut flavored latte I think. They all tasted great but my wife says the banana coffee isn't that strong. Get in line to the left, wait to place your order with the barista and pick up your drink, then head to the right where the cashier is. Many come to study, but bring headphones of course.

Yelp
This is based on the Vietnamese coffee. It is the most delicious liquid narcotic I have had in a long time. I can feel my heart in my throat just like at college parties.

Yelp
We ordered the banana latte, Oahu latte and strawberry matcha latte, all iced and everything was so good! The service was also great as he was super helpful in his suggestions and offering to make it to my liking. The Oahu drink was soo good. Reminds us of the islands eating coconut haupia pudding but in drink form. The banana latte was perfectly balanced, not too fruity but the perfect amount of banana flavor to complement the coffee. The matcha drink was really yummy as well, my daughter enjoyed it! Place is nice and spacious with lots of extra tables to hang out or work. Outdoor seating in the front is available too.

Yelp
Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in the OC. Parking is available on the street or across the street at a large parking lot with an abundance of free parking. After vacationing in Vietnam north to south last year I realized how much I love Vietnamese iced coffee. Phin Smith quenches my Vietnamese coffee cravings locally after getting some shopping done at the nearby Costco or after a meal in nearby Little Saigon Westminster. The decor and shop are decorated with pics from Vietnam and there's plenty of seating options at this coffeehouse. My favorite beverage is the banana iced coffee beverage which is not overly sweet but just perfect. Definitely will return here next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Love the Vietnamese coffee here! Amazing! Tried the Matcha blended which was better than Matcha Latte. The Coconut Coffee is great too. Bit unorganized the way you order drinks, then wait for your drinks, then bring it to the counter to pay. Makes it very busy near the counter and limited places to stand and wait. Very loud on weekend and place echoes badly.

Yelp
THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THEIR MATCHA!! Banana Cream Matcha (5/10): The matcha in the drink was not super flavorful; it kind of tasted a little watered down and not like high quality matcha. There was not enough banana cream to make a difference in the flavor of the matcha. Even though the banana cream swirl around the cup made the drink look pretty aesthetic, that meant that there was not enough banana creme flavor. I also believe they use banana cream pudding and not actual bananas for this cream. Overall Thoughts: There was a pretty long line, so just be prepared to wait for awhile. Their service is amazing! The staff are super nice and allow you to taste the drink before you finish paying for the order. Don't be like me, and make sure to ask for adjustments if you think something in your drink is a little off! Phin Smith is relatively busy, so the environment might be too noisy for some to study in. There are lots of chairs and tables to sit at, whether you want to hang out with friends or are going on a solo study adventure. I know Phin Smith is known for their coffee, so I want to come back to try their coffee (I'm not the biggest coffee fan, which is why I got matcha). This review is based on their matcha drink, but I'll definitely come back for their well-known coffees!

Yelp
Wow what took me so long to discover Phin Smith. I am a die hard Vietnamese when it comes to my coffee. I LOVE Phin Smith. This is not for the weak of heart so if you don't actually like coffee or want something weak, go somewhere else. Phin Smith is located in the Downtown Garden Grove area, and there is some street parking or a large public lot conveniently across from the shop. I love the traditional touches of decor they have in the coffee shop. A very nice elegant modern touch meets rooted traditions. You order from the baristas, and they make your drink for you while you wait. Then you can taste it and ask for adjustments. And if you're happy with it, pay at the cashier. I like that the baristas can focus on their craft and the cashier can just ring everyone up. My go-to drink is the Ca Phe Sua Da ($5.25/small, $5.75/large). Hits the spot every time. The taste reminds me of my childhood when my aunt and I would enjoy coffee together every morning. Yum. Until next time!

Yelp
blueberry matcha: 10/10 best blueberry matcha ive ever had! the blueberry doesn't taste artificial or too sweet, it's the perfect amount of blueberry. the matcha is light and very refreshing. it's one of my go-tos matcha! overall, inside is spacious and large with many seating tables. service is quick and friendly. this place is within a shopping plaza so parking can sometimes be tight or crowded. i highly recommend!!
