"Webster Street has no shortage of casual options, but none have a gravitational pull like Phnom Penh House. The Cambodian spot, which moved from their original location in Oakland about eight years ago, excels at shareable entrees that lean hard into combinations of smoky, salty, and sweet. One dish that you won’t be able to stop piling onto your plate is the traop ang, a heap of grilled eggplant topped with saucy ground pork, shrimp, and what feels like an entire head of garlic. It’s also never too packed, so walk right in for an easy lunch or last-minute midweek dinner.  " - julia chen 1, lani conway

Absolutely phenomenal South East Asian food. One of my go to restaurants on the island. I've visited many times for lunch, dinner and ordered takeout. It's never been too crowded. And I've never had to wait for a table. All the dishes have so much flavor. It's difficult not to order everything off the menu. Good portions and fair prices. The mussels and green beans are my favorite dishes. Service is always great.

Google
Excellent option for casual, family-style Cambodian dining. Ordered 4 appetizers for a filling dinner for two; with rice, and the spread could have easily fed three. Spicy Papaya Salad, refreshing and light, the thinly sliced, unripened fruit has the taste and texture of radish. Prawn Salad, same dressing, but served with cabbage and mint. Mporn Slarp Moarn, chicken wings stuffed with ground pork and vermicelli then deep fried, a well-spiced and flavor-forward appetizer. Beef Skewers, tender marinated, slightly sweet and succulent, a must.

Google
The grilled beef skewers are very good, cooked well, and flavorful. The chicken with peanut sauce had the right texture but could be more seasoned. Service was fast and restaurant was clean. Would come back again to try their other entrees

Lovely place with friendly staff. Several tasty non-meat options including the lotus root salad (added tofu) and an entire vegetarian menu, including vegetarian "duck."

Google
This was my first time trying this restaurant since they opened. Location is very convenient and easy to found, only they do not have parking lot. Only street parking. Reason I gave them 4 stars (I should say 4.5), because it took longer than expected wait time for cooking the food. At least 30 minutes for 1 appetizer and 1 dish. It's kind of a long wait. However, the taste was good, and their service is fast and nice. Their appetizers were quite expensive than I expected in the area. The restaurant is not that big, so in the weekend could be longer wait time. One thing is a plus that, they do accept Tap payments, which is huge deal for someone like me. Just go to their counter and ask for it.

Visited this nice little place on Webster Street on a cold and rainy Friday night. The owner was very welcoming and service attentive. We ordered the Spicy Papaya Salad as an appetizer and 4 mains: Sngor Thhrourk (seafood soup), Spicy Tofu with Lemongrass, Minty Noodles with BBQ Pork, and Singapore Noodles. All of it was fresh, hot and very delicious. It's a good amount of food for the dollar so we all left with extra for lunch the next day. Great spot, good eats, friendly people. Recommended.

Google
I ordered takeout from then and tried their Spicy Papaya Salad with shrimp, Charbroiled Beef Skewers, and Boneless Chicken Wings. The total came to around $75, which I found a bit pricey for just three items. The food itself was great, with flavors that were on point. I highly recommend the Slaap Moarn Borg (boneless chicken wings) – they were delicious! However, I noticed a strange taste in the veggies, almost like a cleaning product, which was off-putting. Overall, while the food was tasty, the high price and the odd taste in the veggies left me with mixed feelings.

Google
Hidden gem in Alameda! Or maybe it’s not a hidden gem, and everyone knows this place. Regardless, all the dishes that we ordered were really good. - Basil fried rice (super fragrant) - BBQ lemongrass pork ribs (fall off the bone tender) - Stuffed chicken wing (huge and filled with curry flavored vermicelli) - Ha Mok (had a ton of fish, although the bowl was small)

Dianna H.

Yelp
Good food served in massive portions! I'm not super familiar with Cambodian food, but I really enjoyed my meal here and the leftovers were great heated up the next day. I came with a friend for Monday dinner around 6 pm and snagged one of the few open tables left. Throughout the time we were here, there was a constant influx of groups coming and going, so most tables were constantly occupied. The menu is several pages long, so it took us a while to look through all the options and figure out what we wanted. One thing that surprised me was the prices, which felt a bit high. I wanted to get the stuffed chicken wings, for example, but that was $23.85 for a portion, so I skipped it. We shared #534 moarn ang kreun / charbroiled chicken ($22.85) and #642 deep fried red snapper topped with mushrooms, bean thread noodles, shredded carrots, and ground pork ($21.85). I loved both dishes. The chicken was marinated in a sweet soy sauce and charbroiled perfectly where it was super tender and juicy. The fish dish was also delicious and was only slightly sweet, which I appreciated as I prefer savory dishes. Both dishes were generously portioned. Honestly we probably could have split one dish with some rice. We managed to finish the chicken, but I took the fish dish home and it made for some great leftovers!

Nina V.

Yelp
Solid dishes that have a small nod to Cambodian cuisine, but seems mostly Thai and Chinese influenced. The lemongrass pork was better than the lemongrass chicken. I liked the stuffed wings (filled with curry flavored vermicelli). Other stuff were 3/5 (fish curry, crepe). Parking around here is tough because it's downtown alameda!

Amy L.

Yelp
Alameda parking can be difficult but we found a parking spot about 1 1/2 blocks from the restaurant and put our name on the waiting list. We waited about 10 mins as only one name was ahead of us. My first time eating Cambodian food which is similar to Thai but the two dishes that we tried were good but mostly I tasted lemon grass in the stuffed chicken wings and the grilled pork also had lemongrass. If I'm in the area I will try the noodle dishes when I return.

Yelp
Phnom Penh House was the choice of my sister and family when we visited them in Alameda one weekend. It was a good choice!! They ordered an assortment of entrees for our family of 7 to share. Here is what we had. I included the item number from the menu. #213 Samlaw Machhou Phnom Penh. This is a soup cooked with prawn, fish, tomato, lemongrass, and tamarind paste. # 319 Sachkor Ang. Beef charbroiled on skewers served with pickled vegetable and house sauce. #528 Slaap Moarn Borg. Boneless chicken wings stuffed with lemongrass spice, bean thread, meat, black mushroom, onion, and served with pickled cabbage and house sauce. #424 Traop Ang. Eggplant grilled and then sautéed with garlic topped with shrimp and pork. #644 Bonkea Cha Psirt. Prawns and calamaries sautéed with black mushrooms, fresh straw mushrooms, pepper, green onion, and chili paste. #950 Sweet Basil Fried Rice. Chicken or prawns, sweet basil, diced fresh chili and garlic. #951 Cha Kathiw. Pan Fried noodles with chili sauce, bean sprout, green onions, and egg topped with ground roasted peanut. I have to say that everything tasted really good! My favorites were the Cha Kathiw, Sweet Basil Rice, and the Sachkor Ang. Can't go wrong with any of them though. Phnom Penh House is another great dining option in Alameda. By the way, the restaurant was nicely decorated and the customer service was wonderful also. Give this Cambodian restaurant a try.

Yelp
If you're looking for a taste of Cambodia right in Alameda, CA, you've got to check out Phnom Penh House. The ambiance is super inviting, making it the perfect place for a casual dinner or a fun night out with friends. They have a fantastic variety of Cambodian dishes that will make your taste buds dance. I couldn't resist trying their signature lemongrass chicken, and oh my goodness, it was nothing short of amazing! The chicken was perfectly cooked, infused with the bright and zesty flavors of lemongrass, and it just melted in my mouth. The service was good too; the staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which made for a relaxed dining experience.

Tien N.

Yelp
Love this place, been here twice now and everytime the food is great. I love their eggplant dish. Its got flavor and feels refreshing. Their noodles are pretty bomb too. A must try if you're in the area. There is another location in Oakland and its delicious as well. Parking is relatively easy as well. You can always go right into the neighborhoods. Staff are always friendly and it was nice that they were able to make some custom vegetarian dishes for my mom. Place is a bit small, but the two times I went it was never a long wait.

Sophia L.

Yelp
The charbroiled chicken was hot off the grill and really tasty. You can taste the lemongrass marinade. They use all thigh meat so the chicken is really juicy. The cha kathiw was not so great. The sauce was way too sweet and tastes like ketchup. I enjoyed the fried banana. The batter was light and crispy!

Sun L.

Yelp
Clean and tidy Quick service Nice friendly Good amount of food Fair price Had a good dinner Have been a repeated customer there

Kim B.

Yelp
Sadly, you can't judge a book by its cover. Phnom Pehn House was clean and bright. The tables were set and well spaced. We were greeted when we walked in. The menu has a lot of offerings. The service was only so so. Although they brought water right away and took our order, they never came back to check if we needed anything once we were served and did not offer to refill our waters. There were only three other tables with patrons. The lemonade was very good. It was homemade and had a slice of lemon in it. It was just sweet enough. The food was very disappointing. The rice seemed like it had been cooked the day before and just warmed. We had the chicken curry. There were four drumsticks, eggplant, green beans and some potato chunks. The curry tasted like incense. When we asked what the spice was, they said they said it was turmeric root. We also had the traop Ang. The shrimp was old and tasted really fishy. It ruined the whole dish. Although there was lots of food for what we ordered, it wasn't all palatable.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday evening for dinner and it was already a full house around 6p. If you are lucky, you can find a parking spot around the corner within the parking lot. We end up parking in the street. Ordered ground pork with shrimp over eggplant, shrimp Pad Thai, stuffed chicken wings, fried calamari, and ground pork over fried fish. Service always on point. They were very busy during dinner time so best to call for reservations if you have a big party. Don't forget the fried banana with ice cream! It's the best after a good meal!

Allison T.

Yelp
This was my first exposure to Cambodian food and it did not disappoint! We were quickly seated without a reservation on Monday night around 6pm. The inside was clean and service was quick and polite. Since it was all of our first times, we asked for some recommendations and the waitress was super helpful in walking us through the menu! We ended up ordering: - Crunchy green beans with tofu - A classic simple vegetable/tofu dish, but the sauce is what really elevates it! - Slaap Moarn Borg (boneless chicken wings stuffed with lemongrass, spices, bean thread, meat, mushroom, onion) - This seemed to be a very popular dish and I can see why! It's definitely unique - I've never seen anything like it before but the flavors were all really good and worked nicely together. I am a big fan of the bean thread noodles so having those in the chicken was a hit for me! - Cha Kathiw - The waitress described this as similar to a pad thai, but saucier, and I think that is accurate! We got it without peanuts due to allergies but flavor-wise it was very similar to pad thai. - Kary Tia (duck, potatoes, green beans, in a brown shrimp paste curry) - May have been my least favorite dish, but still very good and flavorful. I thought this duck curry was not anything super special, but I did enjoy it to switch up the flavor palette we had. - Sach Chhrouk Ann Kreun (pork charbroiled with lemongrass spices) - This was also a hit - reminded me of charbroiled pork I've had in vietnamese restaurants, which is always a favorite of mine. Again, nothing super extraordinary but definitely was yummy and would order again. Overall, the food was all delicious, but would be interested in trying a few other different dishes if I come back. It was a bit expensive too, coming out to about ~$35 per person ordering 5 dishes for 4 people to share, but is a solid option when craving Cambodian food!

S F.

Yelp
I'm not familiar with Cambodian food so I asked our server (older Mr. Clean) for recommendations. The beef stick had strong fragrant lemongrass and sugar marinade. So good! You can see the thin slivers of lemongrass still on the meat. The fried promfret hidden under the pork was excellent too. They even deboned it. The stuffed wings are popular and presented nice contrast in crunchy outside and noodle-y inside.

Nene J.

Yelp
Out of all of the restaurants that I have been to in Alameda, these people are so kind and welcoming! Inside is so homey and comforting, not to mention how the food is always fresh and tasty as well. Please if you're ever in the area try this spot, you won't be disappointed

Kev H.

Yelp
Food: Very very good. We liked everything that we ordered. Below are my detailed review of each dish we tried: 319. SACHKOR ANG : Beef charbroiled on skewers served w/ pickled vegetable & house sauce. The beef chunks on these skewers were tender, juicy, and very flavorsome. Absolutely phenomenal and delicious. I'd get this again for sure. It was our absolute fave of all we ordered. 534. MOARN ANG KREUN : Chicken charbroiled w/ lemongrass spice served w/ pickled vegetable in Cambodian style. This dish was also delicious, although I would think the flavor would be much more elevated if the chicken meat was a bit more charred. 528. SLAAP MOARN BORG : Boneless chicken wings stuffed w/ lemongrass spice, bean thread, meat, black mushroom, onion & served w/ pickled cabbage & house sauce. This dish was so unique to me cause I would typically not order it, but I'm glad I did. This dish was perfect as an appetizer or as a main. The skin on the chicken was shiny and crispy, while the inside was hearty. Service: I would say just standard and could be better (no offer for water refill), but at least the service was fast. Ambiance: The restaurant looked awesome on the inside. I don't know much about Cambodian culture, so I don't know if what I saw was embodiment of that or not, but it looked nice. The restaurant was also clean and organized. Parking: Could be a pain as we had to find street parking. $1 per hour on a weekday was not too bad.

Binh T.

Yelp
We got seats right away, and was lucky to find parking a block away. The servers were nice, and I normally like the dishes here. But today was a bit off and disappointing. This new dish we tried taste like a lot of ketchup was just thrown on it, and not much other flavor to it. The angle wings, fried fish, grill meat was delicious tho.

Dhoris P.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. This is our second time dining here. We loved the food we got last time so we came back for more. The place is clean and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. We got seated right away with menus and water. I love that they have a good amount of vegetarian options. We ordered the curry tofu w/ steamed rice and Singapore noodles. The curry tofu had galangal which I've never had before. It's such a unique flavor, it gives this dish a distinct taste. It was very good and would order again. We also ordered the Singapore noodles w/ shrimp. It was tasty, love the yellow curry, but the shrimp was overcooked. The food was good overall and would come back again to try other dishes. I love that it's just down the street from us. It's a little pricy, but the portions were very generous. If you've never had Cambodian food, this place is legit.

Sydney J.

Yelp
I decided to come back for the first time in a while, and ordered ahead for takeout via the phone. I ordered the spicy tofu with lemongrass, asked for them to make it as mild possible, and the sweet basil fried rice with tofu. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes, and it was indeed ready when I got there. The lemongrass tofu was very flavorful, still a bit spicy - unsurprising since that's usually how lemongrass dishes I've tried have been. It was so juicy and delicious, I highly recommend it. The basil fried rice is savory and can hold up on its own, though I did feel like it was great to mix the lemongrass tofu dish with the basil fried rice as well. In both dishes, the tofu was nicely fried and a satisfying level of firm. Although the prices on the menu might not look too cheap, they give you a pretty generous and filling amount of food, so I feel it's well worth it, and they have a decent array of vegetarian options.

Dan V.

Yelp
Solid food, quick service, and a clean restaurant. Beef skewers 4.5/5 - tender and flavorful not many complaints but a little expensive for 4 skewers. Fish sauce was too diluted Eggplant w/ pork and shrimp 5/5 - you can taste the char on the eggplant and has a generous topping of pork and shrimp. Flavorful sauce that has the right balance of salty and sweet Stuffed wings 5/5 - these wings are really stuffed, really flavorful but some parts weren't as crispy as others from what seemed like uneven frying. Duck curry 4/5 - generous duck portion, tender and seasoned well. This curry has a lot of turmeric which is overpowering for me and really salty from the shrimp paste. Didn't taste any other aromatics in the sauce. Sweet basil fried rice 3/5 - it's fried rice, not amazing but not bad. Chunky pieces of chicken breast.

Folasadé O.

Yelp
The sweet basil fried rice, the beef skewers, and the beef shrimp rolls were so amazing! Service was outstanding. I also tried the Cambodian coffee for the first time and I would dare to say that it de-thrones Vietnamese coffee. We came when they first opened, so it wasn't too busy, and the food came out quickly. I cannot wait to come back here again!

Everett L.

Yelp
What a treat! Walked in for some Thai iced teas and the banana fried icecream dessert. Really nice host and place is kept clean. The banana is super fried and the iceceeam taste so good with it. Also don't forget to get the thai iced tea, delicious!

Briggitte L.

Yelp
The service was good. The waiter was very nice, and the dishes came out quickly. We really liked the fried calamari, pad Thai, stuffed chicken wings, whole fish and eggplant with pork. The fried banana and ice cream were a nice way to end the delicious meal.

Helen W.

Yelp
Heard about this place and decided to give it a try. Service is good, food came out pretty quick, and they were all very tasty. Definitely need to come back and try some of their other dishes.

Doris G.

Yelp
Always outstanding food. My new favorite is the minty salad. Service is wonderful, they always come by to check on you and refill glasses.

Karen C.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by for lunch at Phnom Penh House because we wanted to try something new and both of us had never really had Cambodian food before! We arrived around 11:30 and were seated right away. There is an extensive menu and lots of good options to pick from. We opted to share a chicken dish and another noodle entree. 1) Slaap Moarn Borg (stuffed boneless chicken wings) - The chicken was tender and juicy and the filling has a very nice lemongrass flavor. The filling was a good combination of bean threads, black mushroom, and onions. I just wish there were more on the plate! 2) Cha Kathiw (pan fried noodles) - this noodle dish reminded of Pad Thai, but has a more tangy flavor, which I enjoyed. The noodles were cooked nicely with a good chew to it. My only comment is that there wasn't a lot of egg or chicken, but overall, the flavor was pleasant. I've never had Cambodian food previously, so I don't know how authentic this is, but overall, my friend and I enjoyed our meal!

Brianna T.

Yelp
My fiancé and I used to spend a lot of our time in Alameda, but didn't know about this place until sometime in 2023. Now when we come to Alameda we treat ourselves to the amazing food Phnom Penh House has to offer! The deep fried pompano is my favorite, the stuffed chicken is his. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving Cambodian food.

Pamela H.

Yelp
The food was first rate! Many options, perfectly seasoned, ample portions. Clean quiet atmosphere even with the place almost full. Great service. Next door to a fabulous pinball museum where you can play all the machines for free! A perfect outing

Chris B.

Yelp
Grateful to have this spot in my neighborhood. This restaurant was my first Cambodian food experience, and I am so glad that it's a short drive away. Everything is fresh and delicious, and I cannot keep myself away from the Prahok khatis. An excellent snapshot of south Asian cuisine, served up by some very friendly folks.

Lorenzo H.

Yelp
Food: good flavor, the noodles we got, kat see something was good, but nothing special I would say like a 3 star dish. Still prefer regular pad Thai. The tofu curry was a 2 star dish not very good. The lemongrass soup was our favorite of the night and the beef skewers were solid Service is like 2 stars nothing special, no checking in on the table or niceties, not even water refills Ambiance is nice we just had to sit right next to the door so the outside air would coming rushing in Overall I'm glad I tried Cambodian food, it was filling, but I wouldn't return

Malia H.

Yelp
As a fellow khmer, the food was AMAZING! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the pricing. The beef sticks were 5/5 for flavor but you only get 4 for $19. This is the most expensive I have seen beef sticks. The quality was incredible though. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance was cozy and with beautiful Cambodian paintings showcased across the restaurant. Beef sticks 5/5 Stuffed chicken wing 4/5 Fish amok 4.5/5 Cambodian iced coffee 5/5 Will return again! Thank you bong

Aria A.

Yelp
They have the most delicious vegetarian choices Try vegetable with tofu, carrots, broccoli and cabbage. The flavors are gently spicy with rich traditional tones

Annie W.

Yelp
Made a return visit to Phnom Pehn House for lunch and, while it was still delicious, it didn't have the wow factor that it had the first time; maybe it was the dishes we ordered that didn't tickle my tastebuds the way the other dishes did. We ordered two dishes again; this time it was the Cha Kathiw with Chicken (Pan-fried noodles with beansprouts, egg, green onions, and chili sauce) and the Cha Bangkea Pka-Kana (Stir-fried combination of seafood with broccoli florets). Both were good, but very much like Chinese dishes. The noodles seemed somewhat like tomato beef chow mein with chicken instead and no tomatoes or onions; so it wasn't what I was expecting. The stir-fried seafood had a combination of calamari, prawns, and scallops, but it also resembled a Chinese stir-fry without any Khmer spiciness or deeper flavors. Still would recommend Phnom Penh House, but maybe order other dishes. Service as good and friendly, so that counts for a lot. I would definitely return to try other dishes.

Debbie B.

Yelp
When this restaurant was in Oakland I went there whenever I could. I recently discovered it in Alameda. The service is very good, but the food was very meh. I had the beef with peanut sauce and the meat was the worst I have ever encountered in a restaurant. It was stringy and tough like a combination of rubber and elastic and had no flavor. So disappointing. I hope the rest of the menu is good, but doubt I'll be returning. There are too many other good places than to revisit and take a chance. They'd be smart to either remove it from their menu or to buy a better cut of meat. It was expensive, $20 not well spent just for a lunch dish (that was not good).

Derek F.

Yelp
I haven't posted a yelp review in a while out of laziness, but this one was needed. we eat a lot of excellent food, but this was something special. all three dishes we ordered were exceptional: Spicy Papaya Salad: not super spicy which was perfect for my wife who doesn't like this super spicy. well balanced sweetness and tang with the light dressing. very refreshing with generous portions of shrimp. MOARN ANG KREUN: Amazing grilled lemongrass chicken. although I gave all 3 dishes 5 stars, this was the star of the meal with superb flavor. our leftovers went perfect on salad greens at home. CHA KATHIW: tasty noodle dish which was a hybrid of some Thai and Malaysian noodles I had when I spent time in Southeast Asia (still wishing I had made a weekend trip to Cambodia) highly recommended. we don't live in Alameda, but we will return when we are in the area.

Callme R.

Yelp
Love the food, our family has been going to its original spot on alice st oakland great food, love the 'see you tomorrow' and warm family reception we receive from owner, wish we could eat out more often but the prices (everywhere) has skyrocketed. A special treat always that ends with a yummy fried banana and ice cream treat. Mabuhay! We love Phnom Penh House and its family-run resto.

Jeff M.

Yelp
It was my first time trying this place but my partner highly recommended it. We ordered three dishes for takeout on a late Saturday afternoon. The food was quickly prepared (in about 20 minutes). 213. SAMLAW MACHHOU PHNOM-PENH - This soup was my favorite dish of the night. The soup was well balanced between flavors of sweet and sour. None of the individual ingredients tasted over-powering. I would 100% order this again. 528. SLAAP MOARN BORG - I am always a big fan of stuffed chicken wings. You can get so many different textures in a single bite! I also appreciated that the staff cut a hole in the container to prevent the order from getting soggy. Unfortunately, the skin was no longer crunchy by the time it got home. I would recommend eating this at the restaurant. 953. MINTY NOODLE - I liked the use of thicker noodles, as well as the flavor BBQ chicken that we ordered. I would also recommend eating this at the restaurant because the noddles felt a little bit mushy being stuck inside a box. The egg roll was also completely soggy and inedible. I think this box needed a hole as well. In summary, the food here is good, but I recommend eating it there because it doesn't seem to do as well in takeaway boxes.

Ray B.

Yelp
A nice find to complete our trio of places to eat on the island. We hope to discover more, but for now the 3 we have should suffice. BB

Emma G.

Yelp
Food was Very good, easy parking, lots to choose from and a lot of vegetarian options

Katherine G.

Yelp
My first time trying Cambodian food! I found this spot on Yelp and had never heard about it, but was looking for a casual but nice restaurant for a group of 4. We arrived pretty late around 8pm and there were still a few groups of people inside, but they were definitely nearing the end of dinner. Their menu has quite a wide variety of options and we decided to get a few dishes to share. We opted for the basil fried rice with chicken, papaya salad, lemongrass pork ribs, and shackor cha kyei (beef with veggies. All the food came out super fast which was a pleasant surprise. Upon first bite I was hooked -- everything was so delicious in such a unique way! The papaya salad was really fresh yet flavorful, the fried rice had the perfect level of seasoning, the beef was tender with a yummy sauce, and the pork was probably the most surprisingly delicious dish of the night. The ribs were really long and seasoned with what seemed like a fish sauce, and they were so flavorful and fragrant that I kept wanting more :") Service was nice and friendly, and the efficiency was a great plus. I'm so glad that we found this spot and gave it a try! I would highly recommend it and its also in such a cute area :)

Mari H.

Yelp
We stopped in for a bite tonight. Had my two small nephews and they were so gracious. Enough about that, I had the duck curry, asked them to make it spicy and the didn't go wild but it was delicious! They made a special noodles and chicken for the kids and my fam enjoyed their dishes. This is a new favorite!

Valerie C.

Yelp
Location originally in Oakland but relocated in Alameda and the location is so much safer! The food has always been amazing and they really kept their touch because they never phase to not make me leave in a food coma! Some of the dishes looked half eaten because my family already dug in before I took photos Everything was delicious but my favorite is the eggplant with shrimp/ground chicken with garlic sauce. The eggplant blends In So nicely that that you wouldn't even think a vegetable is in there! Ended the dinner with fried banana with vanilla ice cream and it was perfect to end the night!

Kim l.

Yelp
Had dinner here last weekend. Haven't had Cambodian food in a long time. We ordered: Peanut sauce beef: 3/5 the beef was drowning in the peanut sauce would have been much better if the sauce was served as a dipping sauce. Served on top of a bed of spinach. Lemongrass chicken: 4/5 good flavor, some pieces were a bit chewy. Red curry: 3/5 curry was a bit bland and 80% was made up of potatoes. Papaya salad: 4/5 good flavor but no spice. Pompano fried while fish: 5/5 yummy fried fish! Singapore noodles: 4/5 good flavor but I prefer vermicelli noodles for this dish. Green bean tofu: 5/5 great flavor, nice and crunchy! Overall good service and good food!

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Cambodian food, this is just the place. The food here is excellent and all dishes were served family style, adding to the cozy vibe of the restaurant. The service is also excellent and everyone is super attentive and welcoming. This place is already a go to spot for me, and I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
You can't get more authentic than this. Best Khmer food I've had at a restaurant. My tastebuds were buzzing everything was so delicious and satisfying! Taste just like home

Yelp
I really like the food at this restaurant. Its a cute little place with a nice clean bathroom. They are very gracious and friendly. Here are my favorites: Beef on a stick Papaya salad from the appetizer section Stuffed chicken wings The waitress is very entertaining and she remembered me. It's not a big place but big enough. There are at least 10 tables in there. don't worry about parking as there is a lot with meters behind the buildings.

Yelp
Solid food. Reasonable prices. Smooth and swift service. Service was kind and courteous. We think we found a gem in Alameda. Food came quickly and tastes great. All fresh ingredients and prepared on order. Restaurant is very clean and organized. Very comfortable with tall ceiling and large windows with natural light.

Yelp
A colleague of mine recommended this place to me as she knows I go to Berkeley every now and then. Tonight, we went there for dinner. We got there close to 8pm on Friday night and it's a full house. We waited in the cold for about 15 mins. The owner came out and said he will try to "signal" one of the paid table to leave instead of kept on chatting. Good vibe!! We ordered quickly as I got a long list of recommendations from my colleague. My hubby and I love the soup. Kiddos like the beef skewers. It's an interesting meal and I am glad we have tried it. You could tell the owner knows a lot of his customers. Such a friendly family feeling. Love it!!

Yelp
This was the best lunch I've had in a long time. The only down side were the very loud customers and one customer who doesn't understand that no one else wants to listen to his phone....geeez! All of the dishes ordered were excellent: SAMLAW MACHHOU PHNOM-PENH (soup), SLAAP MOARN BORG (Boneless stuffed chicken wings), TREI CHAP CHEAN TURK CHHOU-AIM (Deep fried "Pompano" fish), SWEET BASIL FRIED RICE w/ shrimp and tea. All were heavenly. Thank you.

Yelp
My parents couldn't stop recommending Phnom Penh and they were so excited when I finally went with them. It def lived up to their hype! We had dinner here on a rainy Thursday night and luckily beat the crowd. The service here was awesome - we were seated immediately, our order was taken shortly after, and then food came out so quickly! I'd never had Cambodian food before and Phnom Penh House set the bar high. I really enjoyed the Moarn Ang Kreun (lemongrass chicken). The fried rice was really good too but tbh it's hard to mess up fried rice. My parents also really like their Samlaw Machhou Phnom-Penh (prawn fish soup with pineapple, lemongrass, and tamarind). All large portions - think family style servings - for a reasonable price! My one wish was that the iced coffee was a little bigger but I prob shouldn't be drinking so much coffee with dinner anyways lol.
