Quietly excellent Vietnamese cooking—pho with deeply seasoned broth, vermicelli bowls, and fresh rolls—served by a long-running, family-owned team. A refreshing counterpoint to chile-heavy meals and a reliable local favorite.

I really enjoy this restaurant. I almost always order my food to-go, and I’ve yet to have a bad food experience. To-go food is always packaged very neatly and nicely. The staff is friendly and funny; always willing to patiently answer any questions about the menu. I try something new almost every time. However, I find myself typically coming back to the pho. Prices are extremely reasonable as well. The atmosphere seems to get a lot of comments in the reviews; but I think it is a quintessential Vietnamese restaurant (in the US). I’ve eaten at a fair number, and I think the vibe is exactly what I want.

Please post your Business name on building...on the rear. We missed the entrance. First time visitors...and very pleased that the Google guided us there. 8-13-24 at noon. Just us two & one other table for a while. Enjoyed the Curry Shrimp bowl & Grilled Beef w vermicelli. Fantastic flavor. This restaurant is " now" in our favorite list. When in L.C. make it your next destination eatery.

Google
So delicious!! We had the “B1” bowls and iced teas. We also had a yummy mango smoothie to go. The girl taking care of us was sweet and attentive and the restaurant was clean. Absolutely loved it!

Nice quiet atmosphere. Good food. Been too couple Vietnamese restaurants around the vicinity and this one is good, not great but good. May need more authenticity. Recommend to try. Better Customer Service needed. Server was genuinely sweet but cashier was very rude.

Google
The place looks rundown. I think it should have an authentic Vietnamese look (decorations & subtle Vietnamese songs). The beef pho my husband ordered was bland and there was only a few tendons. Kalamari was almost less than 10 (sorry) pieces 🫤 and a little bit rubbery. This place has a videoke place with a disco ball(?)

Google
Just the way I like the Pho & spring rolls with all the condiments! 😋

Google
the place really needs remodeling. The broth for the phone was on point but what my daughters chicken fried rice was so dry and tasteless. I will not go back

Google
Horrible service. The service was always bad, but we used to go there for Pho noodles because there is no other local option in LC. However, there came a point where we decided we are no longer going to tolerate rude and slow service. Nowadays we just go to El Paso where there are several really good places to eat Pho.

Yelp
Not particularly good Vietnamese food, but one can't be picky when in Las Cruces. Noodles were way too salty, seems like the pho was fine for the rest of my party though.

Yelp
We had a quick lunch while at a doctor's appointment. I was not hungry so I had the rocket shrimp. Very very good and filling. My friend had the duck pho noodles the rice noodles as he can't have egg noodles. It was very generous on both veggies and duck portions. We both had the Thai iced tea, and I highly recommend it. Come by Pho A Dong for both a quick bite or a family meal you will be satisfied. They do have a wide range for every pallet.

Yelp
Personally, I don't care about the decorations and vibe of a restaurant, it's always going to start with the food. And the Pho here doesn't deserve more than 2 stars. The base of the stock for their soup is semi aromatic and approaching flavorless. Instead of giving basil or cilantro to add as you desire, it is sparsely added to the broth. There are a number of sauces to prepare your soup to your liking, but they aren't house made, and lack the normal spices of pho I gave had. Adding a tablespoonful of chili paste improved the dish, but it's still a poor example of one of my favorite soups.

Yelp
Showed up at 6:10pm on Sunday. Yelp said they were open til 7 but they were closed. Business needs to update hours on Yelp.

Yelp
Hole in the wall pho place. There was one guy clearing and taking orders. I would assume someone else cooking. The wonton soup was okay it was a cross of pho broth with wonton noodles. The noodles were a little old tasting. The bathroom was scary & rundown. Outdated and old fixtures with calcium buildup on yh with rust stains.

Hope W.

Yelp
Literally called to see when they closed today, they told me 8 PM, and at 7:30 I pulled up to a locked door with a CLOSED sign.

William K.

Yelp
Better than 3 star. Id give it a 4 star but putting 5 to help the overall rating. 3s a little low. Portion sizes could be better on the noodles for sure. Taste is good soup didnt taste old.

Yelp
Their food is soooo good and is legit vietnamese food. The owners moved from San Diego, CA and started this restaurant about 20 years ago. I just moved here from Los Angeles, and let tell you, I am so happy that Las Cruces is blessed with this restaurant. I literally transplanted from a part of LA that has a gang load of asian food around me, and this restaurant definitely lives up to making dank ass food back at home. They even have a vegan/vegetarian menu too , which honestly none of their items I have tried so far have disappointed. They always deliver !! Items I recommend here: -chicken with 5 sauces and fried rice (my favorite) -Pork chop with egg, pork skin and rice -vegan vermicelli with soy beef and egg rolls - cafe sua dua (vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk ) -cant go wrong with their pho, vegan or regular -their fied rice is sooo gooood I literally frequent this place at least once every few weeks. For those of you who don't cook often, this place is such a great restaurant to do takeout for multiple items and saving their food to eat throughout the week

Yelp
Update your hours...drive all the way here and it's closed on Friday at 6:30pm. Hours online and hours ON YOUR DOOR state Monday thru Friday 11am - 8 pm

Yelp
After multiple days on the road, we just really wanted some Asian comfort food. Not much options in this side of town and Pho sounded really good, so we opted to go here. Quite surprised when we walked in how this place is fully decked out for Christmas with holiday tunes on a loop. Very festive and colorful ambiance. We got to pick where we wanted to sit. Beverages and menu came at a timely manner. Food: got their Pho with the rare beef, an order of the spring rolls, and a bun combo. Pho was okay, a little too much noodles for my liking and not enough meat, but the flavors were there. The spring rolls were dry but the peanut sauce made up for it. The vermicelli (bun) was actually decent. I got the grilled pork with eggrolls. The fish sauce completes the dish. Restrooms definitely needs some attention because... gross. Service was okay. Owner's daughter was the one manning the cashier, she was nice. Looks like this is a local Vietnamese spot since the workers seem to know all the guests that walk in on a personal level. Good find to get your Asian food fix.

Yelp
I love going here, great food great workers, and the vibes are good, it really feels authentic. I'm no expert though, but I'd still very much reccomend this place to anyone wanting some delicious Vietnamese food in las cruces.

Yelp
It's the bomb.com!!!! You must come try!! This is the best Pho-sho!!! Ate here while on a road trip and want to make another road trip just to go back!!!

Yelp
Service: 5/5 - My server was very attentive and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. Taste: 3.5/5 - I ordered combination Pho and the broth is above average. The noodle and meat portion is pretty good. The iced coffee is 5/5. Cleanliness: 3/5 - The sauce containers could use a little cleaning other than that everything else is great.

Yelp
Dead restaurant at lunchtime. Rude waiter told us we couldn't sit at the bigger table despite an empty restaurant. We had planned on ordering a bunch of seafood dishes and needed a big table for 2, but after the rudeness of the waiter asking us to move to a smaller table, we just ordered pho and bunh instead. Not going to give this restaurant a lot of revenue due to the rude service.

Yelp
Delicious food and very fresh tasting. We loved our entrees and appetizer. Vegetarian Pho is my favorite.

Yelp
We was on a business trip and passing through this town. Didn't want to go out to eat glad it was a bit late. I ordered delivery through yelp- Grubhub for a Vietnamese broken rice. I noticed that my delivery address was incorrect, I called grubhub customer service right away and got the correct address fixed in an instant. Very impress with the service. The broken rice from this place had it down. The fish sauce flavor is on point. The grilled ribs is super delicious, the pork egg custard is tasty, could had use more shredded pork skin but otherwise it was super delicious. The food was delivered to me within 45 minutes and it still hot. I am super please with Grubhub service and the food is surprising tasty and fresh, up to Vietnamese standard. Would use the service and come back to this place again whenever I'm in town. Highly recommended

Yelp
Love their soups. They are flavorful and freshly made. Their menu has a variety and they are always busy. Table service can be unpredictable since each time I've been there there have been different servers. The "main" one, whom I think is also the manager, provides good service. He is a short Vietnamese who also speaks English. There are plates for kids and their fried rice and noodles are good too but I go there for the soup or Phos.
google avatar

MJ S.

Yelp
They won't let you just buy the broth. They want you to spend $15 for the whole bowl of soup. I've had surgery and just needed broth. Was disappointing to have throw the Peter stuff away.

Yelp
We drove almost an hour, to eat authentic pho. At this place, The reason I give this place a two stars is because food was not good, this place is not clean. I don't like to give bad reviews to restaurants but facts are facts. Not happy at all. We won't be back. First this restaurant needs a massive cleaning. Dust webs on walls, windows. Smells funky. When we first came in did not notice much, while we are waiting for the food I started looking around I started to get nervous, my beef pho was not good. The beef was not fresh I ate some broth and noodles I couldn't eat the beef was so hard and chewy. I Left it. My husband ate most of the soup but almost at the end he noticed the long black hair. So he couldn't finished his. The two guys that work there are nice and friendly. Also I ordered some chicken wings. The waiter was like we have not one thing of the appetizers, not one item. I was shocked. Sorry they need to improve their food, cleanliness and services.

Yelp
NASTY NASTY customer service ! IF IM SPENDING MONEY ON A BOWL OF PHO WITH MEAT AND NOODLES IM EXPECTING THAT! They gave me not even a full bowl and simply argues with me . They told me to never come back and that's totally fine ! But I would NOT recommend spending my hard working money for a fast meal ! I've never been to a place that offers pho and doesn't even have the basic ingredients for pho! They need to be closed down and out of business! They are holding on to a thin string with their business and it's obvious! Bathrooms are nasty and the environment is just crap ! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ! If you want a good place Pho Zero Degree ! It's the best your gonna get here in las cruses . This place is shiet ! Absolutely a waste of money and time ! THEY DONT EVEN USE ACTUAL GLASSES ! This is just horrible !

Yelp
Oh boy. I went here a few years ago when I was in town for an interview and scoping out the Vietnamese offerings. It was relatively early in the evening on a Monday, and I was the only customer. The employee eyed me curiously as I ordered a simple bowl of pho with rare steak and brisket with an eggroll appetizer. A few minutes later, I heard the chef yelling to the front in Vietnamese what my order meant. The waiter came out and asked me if I wanted my rare steak cooked well....What? The Vietnamese word for brisket happens to also mean "well done meat." I said yes? They brought out a bowl of pho with noodles and really well done rare steak meat slices. I didn't correct them. I may have an American accent when I speak Vietnamese, but if there is one thing I can clearly relay it is 100% my food order. "Thit chin" is also a common word for brisket with pho...sooooooo ok. The eggrolls were good, they came with just fish sauce none of the traditional lettuce and veggies to wrap them in. The employees were friendly and were curious about what brought me into town. They weren't too enthusiastic, but the story of my experience here has always been one of my favorite stories to tell of my first time in Las Cruces.

Yelp
Great pho!! Can't wait to go back and check out other menu items. Friendly service. Have only gotten carry out but restaurant looks nice and clean.
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
The employees were quite rude and dismissive. I understand it's a trying time with Covid and supply issues.
google avatar

Jose O.

Yelp
Pleasantly suprised. There has not been a lot of great Asian food in Las Cruces, but this has been one of the exceptions. The restaurant was very clean, service was fast and the pho was not bad at all. The pho was pretty good, maybe not the very best I've had but not far off from it either. We had some spring rolls and fried wontons which were also pretty good. I would come back here any time.

Yelp
I go Pho A Dong regularly and I enjoyed their pho. I had a very important guest visiting in town and we went to have a pho and nice dinner tonight. The person who works there and serves food is horribly rude. Tonight was the worst experience ever. He is always sassy and no knowlege of what "hospitality" means. He is always sassy and very rude, when he bus the table, he threw the plates and made everything so uncomfortable. He did not give us a water and menu right away, we had to wait for 10 minutes to get it. We are five of us including kids and we ordered 5 food and yet he gave us 3 utensils and 3 waters. We asked him politely to give more water and he brought us more water as if he was doing us a favor and told my kids not to spill the water. what? Plus the most bothering this is that they play some weird music and it is totally distracting for having a comfortable atmosphere. We decided to leave the place and yet we did not finish eating it so I asked him to give me "two to go bowls". Instead, he only gave me 1 bowl so i had to wait him to come back and asked one more. I said I asked 2 bowls and you only give me 1 bowl(I was really frustrated). He told me I was rude. Was I rude? He pushed me every minute of it so I wanted to see Charlie(owner) and told him how rude he was and he should have a better job on dealing with customers. He told me to tell charlie to hire more people. I said it is not my freaking problem and it is his problem. then he said he will call the police. How dare he is. Finally I met the owner, he apolozied to us but nothing solved the problem. Mattie hided behind the kitchen and he did not even say he was sorry. What a terrible night. Even if the food is good, if they do not treat customers well, People don't want to come back. I am still upset and disappointed.

Yelp
Best pho in town ! Great customers service. Everyone is very nice and funny . They reopen today .
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Super yummy Pho and spring rolls. My friend ordered a vermicelli bowl and it was beautifully served. Nice thing is you can order a "small" bowl which is still relatively big but not as big as the normal bowl. They take credit cards but no phone orders but they're super fast so just order in person.

Yelp
Great Pho and Smoothies. Slight sketchy getting to the location. But, well worth the effort. Very good prices.

Elaine C.

Yelp
What is this? Its a beef spring roll. Why is it red? Not sure. The texture of the noodles is something never seen before. And the soup tastes like the cubes you buy at walmart. Very disappointing quality for the price. The closest pho place is el paso and id rather drive there than the convenience factor here.

Navyblue C.

Yelp
Is this place even open anymore?! Last I checked they had a loose leaf sign taped to the door that said "family emergency brb in 2 weeks" -- no date. That was almost 3wks ago. Nothing. Have no idea when this place will reopen BECAUSE THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE. WHY TF HAVE A PHONE IF NO ONE CAN ANSWER. Additionally -- they've stopped taking orders from non-575 numbers because they've been burned by too many kids? Their food is their saving grace but the service is all around TRASH!! Including the restaurant space itself! I'd rather go back to Vietnam than deal with this mess. DO BETTER PHO A DONG!!
google avatar

Mel B.

Yelp
Love love love the pho very tasty and good atmosphere. And very nice people. Thank you for bringing pho to the desert
google avatar

Brooke D.

Yelp
Really truly amazing food but definitely need work on customer service -- that being said, one of my favorite places in town regardless. Don't be too skeptical! Go try it with an open mind.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
I wish these guys the best, their Pho is ok and they're working really hard. But the service is a disaster, with people alternating between making food and pulling off their gloves to serve tables. And it wasn't real funny when our server took our water glasses away to refill them, then swapped them around on return. An order of spring rolls took forever but were quite tasty when they finally arrived, accompanied by a dish of proper peanut dipping sauce with carrot shreds, we devoured them. The meaty pho had a rich broth and a reasonable amount of animal protein including brisket, tendon and meatball. Veggie pho was extremely mild in comparison, needed a lot more to make the broth worth finishing. All I'm saying is, expect some confusion and a long wait. Vegetarian rating: 2 stars: one for the veggie spring rolls, one for the V11 soup. Everything else has meat. No liquor license.
google avatar

Nick R.

Yelp
Still so great!! Just had the Bun a Dong Dac Biet (B1) and the Combo Crispy Egg Noodles (M9). Seasoning is amazing, and everything was, as always, fresh and cooked to order. I mean, even the Bok Choy was stellar!! Interestingly, I have seen many review describing poor service, and "sassy" servers (I think this may be code for the MAGA crowd, as one of the servers is trans). All I can say is that the servers have their own style, have always provided great service, but may have a slight edge. I love this place, I love their food, and I cannot say enough about this incredible restaurant.

Genell M.

Yelp
This place was nasty. The tables were filthy. Was afraid to drink from the filthy glasses. Horrible customer service. Bathroom was flooded with nasty water. Had 2 bites of the food and left. The health inspector really needs to take a look at this place. Stay away!!
google avatar

Roger S.

Yelp
This place was once one of my favorites, but it has been going downhill for awhile. The pho is still tasty, but the whole place needs frequent and thorough cleaning. Please bring it back to the standards it met a couple of years ago. Until then, I'll only visit to see if it is worth the stay.

Tori C.

Yelp
I walked 15 minutes to get dinner just to be told that they don't do their entire menu during 7:00PM, an hour before closing. Not to mention, I waited 15 minutes to be told this and the front desk person walked away after handing me a menu for takeout. I've been a vegan for 5 years and just wanted a bowl of vegetable rice noodles. I don't ever leave bad reviews but this needed to be addressed and the place was dirty inside.

John G.

Yelp
Great food but they don't take orders over the phone and only open a few days out of the week. Make sure to call ahead of time because when you get there they sometimes only have limited items on the menu.
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Loved the food selections, like noodles, rice plates, sandwiches & beverages with tapioca. The rice noodles with beef was quite good. The only thing I have to say is be sure you allow more time to be seated or ordering your food. I waited about 20 minutes because the place looks understaffed.
google avatar

Lee M.

Yelp
This place is permanent closed I believe. I checked yelp and someone wrote a review about that they don't pickup the phone call from non 575 so I decided to drive by and saw the sign said back in 2 weeks is already faded badly.
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
Walked into a cozy little place that smelled lovely. Given 2 glasses of water. Made to wait 30 minutes before a waiter checked on us and promptly left without ordering. Hope that the food is good, as the service is nonexistent.
google avatar

Ali S.

Yelp
The food was okay, ordered the pork bahn mí and it was tasty, however the sandwich does not come with a side so we ordered the fried rice, traditional pho, and egg rolls. The egg rolls were crispy but the dipping sauce was questionable. Fried rice was okay, hard to mess that up. They didn't have smoothies at the time so we were disappointed. The pho was sub par. Overall the prices suit the quality.
google avatar

Saba I.

Yelp
This Pho is amazing, atmosphere here is great. A note on the service: the waiter here is awesome and kind of sassy. I saw a lot of reviews saying bad service. I say if you can't handle some personality with your pho then you're a wet noodle. Love this place, would eat here all the time if I lived in LC.

Justine G.

Yelp
It's just not that good. The reviews were mixed on Yelp but we decided to take a chance because I was craving Pho. In my opinion, a good Pho broth is the cornerstone of a Vietnamese restaurant. Anyway, it was the weakest Pho I've ever had. My partner had a noodle bowl, and again, we were underwhelmed. We wouldn't go back and we wouldn't recommend it. Big disappointment.
google avatar

Beverly G.

Yelp
Don't go there!! Horrible food, service and atmosphere! I felt like we were patrons at Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey circus. Got to see the worlds shortest man and the bearded lady. The strong man must have had the day off. Never got drinks except water. And they put the straws in it before they bring it. Didn't get the sprouts and jalapeños and cilantro for the pho. Asked for it but the stump never brought it. Horrible fried rice. Worst place we have ever been. But a great place if you are not hungry and want to see a FREAK SHOW!
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
I was fortunate to spend a couple months in Las Cruces, New Mexico producing a film. Pho A Dong was one of our go to spots when time permitted. The waiter always sat us at the same table like it was specially reserved for our small regular group. We ordered the chicken pho and fried rice most of the time but did try some other suggestions from time to time.
google avatar

Kay K.

Yelp
Amazing food and service, my husband and I have lived here for 2 years and this is the first restaurant we have really liked! Cant wait to go back.

Mike L.

Yelp
Horrible service, horrible food. Asked for silverware and was told to use the fork that has been soaking in a cup on the table was clean, I pulled out the fork from the cup to show the short Asian man that it was not clean and had residue on it. Server brought out water with our straw already in the cup. Definitely will not be returning to eat here again.

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick dinner on our road trip from Texas to California. Craving Asian food, we didn't expect something this good! Bun 3, Pho 5 & Avocado smoothie all great
